(More customer reviews)As an adult who has purchased this game, I'm thinking one shouldn't have high expectations for things that give them hours of mindless fun. That's why I'm giving it 4 stars, instead of 3 or less. If you're looking for something that will hold your attention while you kill some time, or give your mind a bit of a rest, then this game is perfect. In fact, it can be rather addictive in that respect. I'm not one for complicated games, so personally, I love it.

I don't think a synopsis of the game is necessary (it's a game of "find the hidden object" - not too many ways to elaborate on that), so I'll just say that the graphics are nice, and I like how the lists of items to be found change each time. Some objects are easy to find, others take a minute to locate. I'd prefer it if the extra "challenges" (they're really not all that challenging, especially after you've completed the game once) in between the levels changed as well, but sadly, they don't.

My biggest peeve with the game, if I can really even call it a peeve, is how it ends. While cracking that particular challenge is fun (again, in the mindless way), not only is it vague about how you actually accomplish it, it's rather anticlimactic. I won't ruin it with details, but suffice it to say that if you're playing the game for the most appropriate reasons (see above), the fact that the ending is kind of ho-hum shouldn't be a problem.

I'd definitely recommend it for anyone who'd like something that will keep them amused as they kill some time, but if you're looking for something more exciting - or something that requires more a complex thought process - this isn't it.

That said, my nephews (who are 4 and 9) love it! So, if you're looking for something that just about anyone in the family will enjoy, regardless of age, then my recommendation increases tenfold. I'm not an expert in childhood development, but I'm sure it doesn't do any harm to kids when developing their hunting skills on an intellectual/visual level, and it would probably do their attention spans a bit of good, too.

(More customer reviews)While Soulstorm keeps the key gameplay elements that have kept me playing the DoW series for 4 years after it came out, this game mostly just offers more of the same, without too much that is new.The two new races are pretty cool, but with 9 races now, it almost feels like there is too much in the game, and not enough to distinguish the different races.The Sisters of Battle play to me like a compromise between the Imp. Guard and the Space Marines.I have also encountered a number of graphical glitches and crashes that I never saw in the previous installments of the game, which suggest to me that this game was rushed out a bit.The insane load times mentioned by another reviewer are a bit of a drag. Not a bad game, by any means, but for $40, we deserved more.

THE OFFICE is a classic time-management casual game where one has to deliver colored folders, printed faxes and the like to cubicle-enclosed coworkers. As the game progresses, the tasks get more complicated, the time gets reduced and the computer-controlled competition gets fiercer. Bonuses and combos are sparingly awarded. See you again tomorrow at 9.

To anyone who has experienced games such as DINNER-DASH or PIZZA-FRENZY this is nothing new. They just added big heads of the cast to the characters.

Definitely NOT worth the admission price...

CSI Hard Evidence Review

That is true, and luckily I have one that fits the bill. The PC version is indeed a DVD rom, unlike the previous versions, so yes it takes more to run this baby. That being said, I will say that this is the best CSI game yet!

These cases, which are not even all solved yet, have many challenges. My wife and I alternate cases, and have a tough time getting a 100% master rating on all of them. I think only case 3 got me that honor.

New twists abound here as well. In the previous game, 3 Dimensions of Murder, it was frustrating to click on a possible area of evidence only to have your case mentor say there's nothing to find there, and it was frustrating when we were searching for the one little evidence piece to move us forward. In THIS game, you get points for being thorough even in the non-evidence-laden areas. PLUS, there are areas with bugs crawling around. Grab these for bug-loving boss Grissom for some extra kiss-up points. If there's a piano in the room, you can play a ditty and your mentor will compliment you. Useless in case-solving, but it makes the game all the more fun.

So, if your computer is up to 2007 standards (I bought mine in early 2007, so it is most likely 2006-friendly, LOL), I highly recommend it. You will pull your hair out at times, but the payoff when you link the evidence together is sweet. Seeing DNA matches, fingerprint matches, assembling broken vases, comparing fabrics under the microscope, and analyzing substances is all part of the fun.

Command and Conquer the First Decade Review

(More customer reviews)The Command and Conquer series is just incredible. Some of the first walkthroughs I wrote were for the original Command and Conquer series.

These games began coming out in 1995, and it's just amazing how fun they still are to play - and how quickly I remember the missions. They really were a ton of fun. They were great strategy, the plotline was great, and the graphics were very impressive for the time.

Sure, in modern times we might chuckle at the white-square grenade being "lobbed", but after a few minutes you get right into the spirit of things. You run over the enemy troops with your harvester, you go after that base, you build your barracks and are sucked in for hours.

I do have all the original games - but half of them won't run on modern computers! With this set you get the full set of games, all of them run quite nicely, and they are all just as good if not better as far as graphics go.

If you haven't played any of these games, you really have to get this set. These are true gaming classics that are incredibly fun to play. If you HAVE played these in the past, then you owe it to yourself to buy this set so that you can play them on your current system. The price is amazingly cheap for the number of games you are getting.

Highly, highly recommended - a must have for anyone who enjoys strategy gaming.

(More customer reviews)When I saw GTR Evo at Amazon, I jumped at it thinking "Finally.An update to GTR2."I was wrong.

GTR2 is probably the best racing simulation game out there.It has all the detail and depth you might want from a simulation: the physics system is excellent, AI cars are appropriately aggressive and smart, car setup and configuration options are extremely detailed, and there is an excellent tutorial system that will educate you as a simulation racing driver.In short an excellent simulation and a must for any racing simulation fan.However, GTR2 is now several years old, so an update is possibly in order.This, unfortunately, is not it.Still, that's not all bad.

Compared to GTR2, Race and Race 07 were both good racing simulations but not designed to be as realistic as GTR2.GTR Evo is an extension of Simbin's Race and Race 07 game franchise.Like Race 07, GTR Evo takes the existing game and adds some new cars and some new tracks.(So, if you buy GTR Evo, you will have all the Race 07 game features, cars, and tracks.)Anyone who is familiar with the Race franchise will feel right at home with the menus, options, and general look and feel of the game.

The additions to this game are primarily GT-class cars such as Corvette, Aston Martin, Lister Storm, and others.(Conspicuously absent are Porsches and Ferraris, both prominent in GT racing.)The game also includes some "fantasy" cars.For example, the Audi R8 supercar is included, although Audi has not confirmed racing plans for it yet.Also there is a set of WTCC Extreme cars, that give the touring cars from Race 07 600+ horsepower, just in case you wanted to know what a 600 HP front-wheel driver was like.

The game adds some new tracks and combines them with the old ones.However, there is one addition here that, by itself, is worth the price of admission: The Nurburgring.The game includes the 'Ring in all its 16-mile, 8-minutes per lap glory.This is a challenging track; sweeping curves, fast sections that drop to slow corners, the famous Karussel; it's all here.If you think you're as good as Sabine Schmidt, "Queen of the Ring", here's your chance to find out.

Like Race, GTR Evo features car setup that, while not as detailed as GTR2, allows for customizing of your car's handling and performance characteristics.GTR Evo does carry over Race 07's great preconfigured files feature, that provide a good starting setup for each individual car for each track.

Drivability is very good and the physics engine gives good approximations of real-world driving characteristics (like front-wheel drive oversteer).Simbin has improved the sound effects, adding to the realism.The AI drivers are good if not quite as aggressive as you might like.

The traditional multiplayer, championship, and practice/time attack modes are still there, with the addition of a R-Arcade quick race mode.

Bottom line: This is a good simulation for those wanting a realistic racing sim.This is a good extension of the Race franchise and fans will not be disappointed.However, hard-core racing enthusiasts may want to stick to GTR2.

(More customer reviews)If you've read the reviews of other gaming sites prior to even considering purchasing Call of Duty, then you've basically read my review already. Before you discontinue reading, here are some critical points you should know before purchasing:
- This product is made exclusively for DVD-ROM Drives; CD-ROM drives will NOT run this box-set.
- If you barely meet the RECOMMENDED system requirements, I suggest you update your video card drives before playing COD2. (I currently have problems running video playback on that game)

Among the many WWII games already in stock, COD does qualify as a stand-alone game with its own innovative features and intensifying moments, but overall, it's provides you with some good ol' FPS fun. If you, like me, are being selective about the many WWII games out there, then you should consider the COD series because of its various historical perspectives and the style of FPS cohesive tactics you're to perform. As for the multi-player levels, don't expect to "Ooh-Ahh" about them, for this is a dated game after all. Hence, my 4-star overall rating, which is really for the sake of more avid gamers.

Since you've come this far in your consideration to buy this set, and you got earned money to spend, go ahead and buy it! It's a fine series.
