The Lost Cases of Sherlock Holmes Review

The Lost Cases of Sherlock Holmes

I am a fan of the Sherlok Holmes TV show and try to purchase any & all Holmes PC games. [The same for Agatha Christie.] The package consists of 16 books/stories [puzzles]. Each puzzle consists of dialog, searching for hidden objects and choosing the culprit. All 16 follow the SAME pattern. The puzzles are also timed [~30 min.] As expected there is an increase in "difficulty" as you progress. I do not know if the story line really helps in solving the mystery for I usually skip it to stay with the hunt.
the mechanics of the game(s) are well done. The puzzle REPETITION is truly the limiting factor for a this game.

Hidden Expedition: Titanic Review

Hidden Expedition: Titanic
Average Reviews:

As an adult who has purchased this game, I'm thinking one shouldn't have high expectations for things that give them hours of mindless fun. That's why I'm giving it 4 stars, instead of 3 or less. If you're looking for something that will hold your attention while you kill some time, or give your mind a bit of a rest, then this game is perfect. In fact, it can be rather addictive in that respect. I'm not one for complicated games, so personally, I love it.

I don't think a synopsis of the game is necessary (it's a game of "find the hidden object" - not too many ways to elaborate on that), so I'll just say that the graphics are nice, and I like how the lists of items to be found change each time. Some objects are easy to find, others take a minute to locate. I'd prefer it if the extra "challenges" (they're really not all that challenging, especially after you've completed the game once) in between the levels changed as well, but sadly, they don't.

My biggest peeve with the game, if I can really even call it a peeve, is how it ends. While cracking that particular challenge is fun (again, in the mindless way), not only is it vague about how you actually accomplish it, it's rather anticlimactic. I won't ruin it with details, but suffice it to say that if you're playing the game for the most appropriate reasons (see above), the fact that the ending is kind of ho-hum shouldn't be a problem.

I'd definitely recommend it for anyone who'd like something that will keep them amused as they kill some time, but if you're looking for something more exciting - or something that requires more a complex thought process - this isn't it.

That said, my nephews (who are 4 and 9) love it! So, if you're looking for something that just about anyone in the family will enjoy, regardless of age, then my recommendation increases tenfold. I'm not an expert in childhood development, but I'm sure it doesn't do any harm to kids when developing their hunting skills on an intellectual/visual level, and it would probably do their attention spans a bit of good, too.

The Hidden Objects Show: Seasons 1 & 2 Review

This is one of the better games I've added to my 'collection' of hidden object games.
It can be frustrating (esp. when you're looking for the question marks, stars and tickets) but
it's well worth the effort.I might play my other games for fifteen or twenty minutes at a time.
But with these two games, I don't want to stop. Also with two games in one, it's a great deal
money wise.

Mystery P.I.: The Lottery Ticket Review

Good game, entertaining and suitable for both adults and kids.

As with many of the hidden items type games, the clues become easier to find. That's when, you may need to leave it alone for a month or more to forget the locations and bring back the challenge of the hunt.

The artwork is excellent, and the puzzles add variety.

Mystery P.I.: The New York Fortune Review

Some may think these games are repetitive after awhile. Not me. While I really enjoy playing the more difficult hidden object/adventure games with the logic puzzles that make you want to scream with frustration, the Mystery P.I. games are a welcome break. Strictly a hidden object game with cleverly worded objects for you to find. In this game, you are looking for the will of a New York City billionaire. PopCap Games continue their strategy for simple, hidden object fun. I find that I'm always anxiously awaiting the release of a new one!

Mystery P.I. Vegas Heist Review

Mystery P.I. Vegas Heist
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I have Mystery P.I. The Lottery Ticket, and recently bought this edition (Vegas Heist) and the New York Fortune.

So far, this is my favorite one (I'm about 1/2 through it).

For those unfamiliar with the Mystery P.I. series, it's a great hidden object game with various locations, mini-game mysteries and extra things to find for Unlimited Seek and Solve.

The Vegas Heist is truly stunning in terms of graphics. The objects are cleverly hidden, but not maddeningly so (especially if you're a hidden object junkie like myself). I used to think the Mystery Case Files were the cream of the crop, but this P.I. Series is giving them a run for the money (especially since Ravenheart 2 was so difficult, IMO.)

For example, one picture is a $50 bill, amazingly well done with objects hidden all around. Another is the inside of a souped up limo, a casino security room, and a luxury yacht. Some objects you need to find are cleverly "disguised". For example, 2 mice may be a picture of an actual mouse, while the other is a computer mouse. Some images are actually words (e.g. KEY for the key).

In addition to finding the objects on the list, you can find an addition three things in each picture, one not listed: a key, a poker chip and a finger print (you have to remember to find the print, it's not listed).

The mini-games at the end of each search group are Word Search (my favorite), Tile Rotation, Tile Swap, and Jigsaw. I'm not big on the latter three, but it's better than the boring bi-color Ravenhearst pictures at the end of every group!

If you enjoyed the Lottery Ticket, you'll love Vegas Heist! If you're new to hidden object games, this would be a great introduction. It's relaxing, yet challenging--very enjoyable.
