I bought this controller cover for my grandson and he loves it. Easy to install and looks "cool" he tells me. A little pricey for what it is but good buy for me.

Call of Duty Review

Call of Duty
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
World War II shooters are everywhere these days. Wolfenstein, Metal of Honor, and even cheap knock-offs have flooded the market lately. Many of the best have found their way onto the Mac (...) and one in particular has garnered high praise.

Call of Duty is a popular team-oriented shooter that puts you in the roles of American, British, and Russian elite soldiers united against Nazi Germany. It takes a very patriotic approach and emphasizes realism in atmosphere, equipment, and missions.

That emphasis is evident throughout the game. Campaign briefings and mission load screens feature authentic orders, photos, and maps. Each time you die in-game you are presented a quote about the nature of war, each of which inspires you to try again or imparts some truth.

The game is very immersive and often feels like a movie. The opening cinematic is a good example and sets the patriotic theme immediately - "many nations unite... one goal... Berlin." Characters seem like actors with lots of dialog and great use of body language.

There are even effects borrowed from war movies. If you are near an explosion - an incoming mortar round, being in the same room as a grenade, or having a tank zero-in on your pillbox - you'll experience a stun effect like those seen on the big screen. If you're lucky enough to survive, that is! Things will get very quiet and you'll find yourself prone, moving slowly, and suffering from blurred vision.

The realism applies to behavior too. Soldiers jump over walls, take cover, and hold their helmets convincingly. The designers did draw a line, though. There is blood when a bullet hits a man, but the violence is not gratuitous. The more gross ugliness of war is omitted; expanding the game's audience emphasizing more important messages.

The most blatant of those messages is that "in the war that changed the world, no one fought alone." Teamwork is critical and Call of Duty drives this point home by making reckless attacks, and other techniques common to most first-person shooters, absolutely fatal.

In order to succeed you have to support, and be supported by, the members of your squad. They will ask for covering fire and if you don't provide it, they won't be alive to do you the same favor next time.

Teamwork is just as important to success online. A single shot doesn't always kill, but it's close. So it's good to have suppressing fire and often the only way to be certain of victory is to coordinate superior numbers. Unfortunately there are no vehicles (I won't give up Battlefield 1942 quite yet) but they're coming in the upcoming United Offensive expansion pack. In the mean time, fixed machine guns do add a little variety.

The multiplayer action is fast-paced and the maps are interesting, balanced, and quick to load. There's even a great feature called "kill cam." When you die, you immediately watch a replay of the last few seconds from the perspective of your killer - that'll teach ya!

Call of Duty features fabulous graphics and performance even on lower-end machines, teaches real lessons about war and history, emphasizes team work, and captivates with it's cinematic presentation. Not only that, but several difficulty settings, unlimited approaches to each mission, and expandable and addictive online play gives this game awesome replay value! It won't be coming out of my dock anytime soon!

First off i'm writing mostly about the goggles. I have to say I was very skeptical about them and didnt expect much, I do this so I won't get let down but when I turned them on. It was amazing, totally worth the money at 150, I don't know about now since their being sold for 100 dollars more but they are really cool. You can see in abosolute darkness, I was amazed. The game itself is, well come on, COD 4 the II. I like games that deliver what the hype is promising. And yes I even stayed up till midnight to get the game for my kid brother on his x-box. Happy Birthday Adrian. P.s. The goggles need 5 double A batteries to work, but it works like no other.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Review

Let me start by saying that most of the time I am one of the suckers that usually buys limited editions of the games I really want (Halo 3, DJ Hero, Rockband Beatles, GOW2 with Lancer toy, etc.), however most of the time the limited editions are let downs and the trinkets just end up going to storage. Not this time, this has to be one of the best packages I have every purchased!

First the Game:This is a fun game with great single player and multi player modes.I always enjoy the multi player more then the single player and this game does not let me down. You will need a good internet connection to really enjoy the multi player, so make sure you have it otherwise you will get frustrated.Their are plenty of maps and games to enjoy for months to come and I am sure new maps will be available by the time you get sick of the current maps. The new weapons are really cool and adds to the wow factor.

Second the NVG toy:Yes this is a toy, but a very cool toy.Do I need NVG's, NO; however does anyone really need them besides the military. They are fun to play with, they feel really solid and not as cheap as the lancer that came with the GOW2 package. They work well in total darkness and look great on the display head that comes with the package.

You will not be disappointed with this package and not get buyers remorse!Enjoy!

Medal Of Honor: Allied Assault War Chest Review

Medal Of Honor: Allied Assault War Chest
Average Reviews:

This game plays just fine on my Intel Core 2 Duo iMac.Don't know where the previous reviewer got his info.

This is a somewhat obsolescent game but still worthwhile.Graphics are pretty good and game play is generally smooth. I am a fan of combat games and have played through the Ghost Recon series Ghost Recon: Desert Siege (Mac), the Call of Duty series Call of Duty Deluxe Edition (Mac) (Call of Duty, Call Of Duty United Offensive)Call of Duty 2 and Blackhawk Down.

Weapons effects are poorly modeled-a silenced .22 caliber pistol has more knockdown that a 9mm or .45 caliber submachine gun or a .30 caliber rifle!I know because I have trained in real life on almost every US weapon in the game (I'm an old guy!).

There is some excessive mission-to-mission variation in enemy "toughness" ; in some, a single body shot does the job. in another it might require multiple shots, even with a heavy caliber rifle or head shots. The difficulty between missions is also uneven. Some missions were impossible to get through, even with difficulty set to Regular, without resorting to a "cheat"-something I've never had to do before.

I recommend this game at it's current price.I wouldn't pay $50 for it, though.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Review

Call of Duty: Black Ops
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I know that lots of people loved MW2 but lots didnt also. modern warfare 1 and cod world at war were awesome games but MW 2 felt lacking to me although I did really enjoy the game. This game just blew me away. Its not modern warfare and its not world war 2 its like a mix to me.

Graphics:
The graphics are awesome despite what other people have posted. They are very crisp and clean if running on high definition. ( I dont know how it looks on standard ) They are not like Modern warfare 2 graphics they have a different and welcome feel to them. Why does some people feel that everything should look like Modern warfare 2? If people were honest with everyone in these reviews instead of just wanting to bash Treyarch they would tell you that the graphics are different than Modern Warfare 2 but still stunning. Modern warfare 2 has great graphics but they just arnt as crisp and clean as black opps. If there is anyone reading this review that hasnt played the call of duty series there are 2 game developers that make this series. One is Treyarch and the other is infinity ward. Treyarch is the one that made this game. You will see in other reviews that some people seem to like the games made by infinity Ward better than the ones made by Treyarch . Both Infinity ward and Treyarch make some of the best games you can play. Both have awesome graphics but they are different from one another in this respect. Each developer has their own style of graphics. In the case of black opps, I really do think these are the best graphics so far in the call of duty series.

Campaighn:
Im not going into depth with this but just wanted to say that of all the call of duty games I thought this was the best campaighn I have ever played in the call of duty series. I have loved them all from the very first one to the present black opps but this is hands down the best campaighn.

Multiplayer:
Ahhh where do I start. Black Opps has a credit system now that allows you to buy guns, load outs, perks , cammo , create personal themes for your weapons , bet your credits aginst other players in wager matches and more. Now instead of waiting until you get enough kills to unlock specific items like the red dot , ACOG scope ,etc. you can buy whatever attatchment you want for your weapons without having to wait for them to be unlocked like on all the previous call of duty games. Perks are the same way. there are some perks that I know I will never use so now I can just buy the ones I want and save my credits for other things I might want. You do still have to wait until you unlock the weapons while gaining rank but once they are unlocked you can get any attatchment you want for them as long as you have enough credits. I recomend saving your credits until you find the weapon you love. My personal fav. is the AK74U. I keep this weapon equipped with a circular blue dot and a silencer. Yes I said a blue dot. you can now change the shape and color of your retical instead of the same old red dot. You can get just about any color you want but this one works best for me , and the circle instead of the dot also seems to work better for me. You can also change the colors and patterns on your weapon to make it your own.

Game play in multiplayer is still the best as you would expect in the call of duty series. the weapons are balanced with a large inventory of weapons. there really is no one particular weapon that seems overpowered in this game like the M16 in the modern warfare games and the MP40 in world at war . Some guns are stronger than others but dont seem to be rediculously over powered. It really puts everyone on a level playing field. The maps that are offered are incredible with lots of detail. you will play in the jungle to the city. Large maps and small. This gives you a good variety to start off with until a new map pack is released and If you have ever played treyarch games like COD World at War you will know that they take care of their players and lots of new map packs will be comming soon. Treyarch also has a great history of fixing glitches and problems with their games keeping the cheating and glitching down. If they find one you can be shure a patch is on the way to fix it.

Zombies:
Yes just like in world at war they have included a zombie mode in this game. Some people say that this shouldnt be included in a call of duty game but the fact is , if you dont want to play it you dont have to. It is just an added bounus. this mode has a huge fan base. some people bought this game just for the zombie mode. It is kind of like hord mode in gears of war. You will face wave after wave of Zombies. The waves start off slow and increasingly get larger and faster. you get credits for killing zombies and boarding up the windows and doors they tear down trying to get into what ever position you are trying to defend. You then take the credits to purchase more powerful weapons hanging on the walls of the map you are playing. There is also something like a treasure box where you get different weapons at random some awsomely strong others not so much, it is just luck of the draw. You can also buy perks like juggernaut , slight of hand and many others. You will really need the juggernaut perk if you want to last a long time. All it takes to put you down is two hits from a zombie. Also if you do go down other players can revive you , but time is limited , if they dont get to you in time you will die and have to wait until the next round if your other players survive to the next round. you can play by yourself or with friends of up to four players per game. The matches can be private matches or on xbox live matchmaking and play with random people. This really is an addictive mode that I have countless hours in in World at war. If you like zombie games like Left 4 dead this is for you. I have played both left for dead games and this is in my humble opinion a much better zombie game. Remember this game has nothing to do with the campaighn or regular multiplayer it is just an added bounus and takes nothing away from the regular game. If you dont like Zombie games dont play this mode , if you do I highly recomend it as it is extreeeeemly addictive.

Summary:
This is an awsome game . Fresh new graphics , awesome campaighn and multiplayer , and the great and addictive Zombie mode. there are people that put this game down because they are just fans of the modern warfare series and really dont want to play anything else. So they bash this game for not being their vision of what they want it to be. This is an unbiased review because I love all of the call of duty games from world war to modern warfare and now to the cold war. This game will provide you with countless hours of enjoyment. Do yourself a favor and buy this game. Yes buy it because you just cant go wrong here. Another amazing installment into the awesome CALL OF DUTY series.

Call of Duty Finest Hour Review

Call of Duty Finest Hour
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
After being totaly immersed in Call of Duty and United Offensive on the PC I knew from Finest Hour's anouncment that I had to have it. First let me tell you that this is a completley new game. It's not a PC port but it does manage to incorporate familiar gameplay and levels into this jaw droping experience. In the first level you play as Alexander Solkovo, who is throw into the battle of Stalingrad with only a handful of ammo. Like the PC game, you eventualy get a rifle to use that ammo but in the begining of the level you have all that you can do to follow your sargent up the hill into machine gun fire. I would like to compare this to the D-Day scene in Medal of Honor Frontline, but that just wouldn't be fair. This game crushes Frontline and although I'll still play Frontline (an incredibly awesome game)This is what is owning my PS2 right now. After Stalingrad you will shift through roles, playing as a Russia female sniper, a Russian tank commander, a British PPA commando, a sargent with the Big Red 1, and a tank sargent in Belgium. The whole storyline is very cool and Finest Hour truely does capture the gritty cinimatic feel of WWII that most games don't. Some might need to remember that this game isn't trying to recreate the feel of the PC game. It's trying to recreate the feel of war and although I've never been in war, I'd say this game does a darn good job. Some people complain the controls are hard to get use to but I'm guessing thats because they are a bunch of hardcore PC gamers (nothing wrong with that) who aren't as good at adapting to a controller layout. Now like I said before, I own Frontline and many other FPS for PS2 and I caught on to these controls in no time. In fact, this game might have some of the best First Person Shooting controls I've ever used (well, next to Halo) With controls aside, lets move on to graphics. Thats always a fun part. They are simply amazing! Each character has around 1500 different animations thay can perform and trust me, they do perform. Really, graphics aren't an issue. The framerate in the game will make FPS fans happy. You can be mowing down twenty enemies and the frame rate doesn't drop at all. Which brings me to my next point. The arsenal rocks. It is smaller than the PC games but now you can run around firing MG42s and 30cal. machine guns without having to deploy them. This is truely awesome. But here is what Finest Hour is missing out on, the M1 carbine, the STG 44, a couple others and strangley, pistols aren't any where to be had. So when your two big guns run out, you must rely on melee attacks. The game, oddly enough, works well without pistols. Only after finishing the game did I realize, "Hey, I never used a pistol." but then I said "Hey, I never needed one!" Now, how about gameplay. The game has wide variety of ways to accomplish each mission (something Rising Sun promised but kind of failed with) And really, almost every time you play is different. With a mixture of funny and down right awesome cheat codes this game will keep you entertained for a long time. But do understand the replay value of this game doesn't relay on the cheats but they are great. What more can I say when it comes to performance and presentation... THIS GAME ROCKS!

Now, the not so good. What game doesn't have glitches? If some one can tell me one, their lying! So don't fear when I tell you this game has some minor glitches. Their nothing most FPS don't have (floating guns) But don't worry, more than likely you won't even notice it. The few glitches their are take place in the really big battles, so a couple of floating guns shouldn't bother you or even catch your eye. Another thing is that the British campaign seems a bit short lived but it is packed with action and the jeep chase more than compensates for a shorter campaign. Also a little more detail could have been paid to bullet holes in the walls. They aren't that good looking but like the floating guns, you probaly won't care. Also, Where is the multiplayer? Sure, you can go online with this game but what about split screen four player. Hopefully they will put it in the next game.

How about a quick recap.

Pros:
Great Graphics
Wonderful musical score
Intense gameplay that doesn't drop a frame
Lots of replay value

Cons:
A couple of tiny glitches that don't affect gameplay at all
The British Campaign is shorter than the others
No multiplayer with out online connection

So all in all Activision and Spark have done a wonderful job on Finest Hour and this in one game any FPS fan or World War II buff should not be without!

Call of Duty: Black Ops Review

Call of Duty: Black Ops
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
REGULAR BLACK OPS HAS ZOMBIES THE HARDENED EDITION COMES WITH THE 4 PREVIOUS BUT UPGRADED ZOMBIE MAPS FROM W@W!
The fact this is sold out goes to show just how popular zombies was in the previous call of duty. I got a little pre-release info on black ops zombies you ready for this.

I will update this review when I have more information on the four old zombie maps that come with the hardened edition.

Please search AskACapper on YouTube if you want to see some of my tips on how to reach high levels in the zombie modes!

It seems BO only comes with 2 new zombie maps and a 3rd game mode called Black OPs arcade which is a top down zombie shooter. You unlock this mode by looking down at the man menu at your hands while in the chair then press L1 7 R1 repeatedly and you'll break free.then walk over to a computer in the room press x and type DoA (Dead OPs Arcade) and enjoy the fun.

New maps include Keno Der Toten (Theater of the Dead) which is a 1940s era German theater much like the one inglorious bastards where they had the final shootout. It is definitely very cool looking and the new crawler zombies who when killed exploded leaving the green cloud that larger vision. These crawlers I believe will make their appearance in all the zombie maps. This map has a teleporter like some of the previous zombie maps and it looks like a good time.

Pro tip: on this first map save your money and open the door on the left as there is a submachine gun there. Do not buy the shotgun in the starting room as it will not give you the points you need to open doors and to progress to the power switch and a box.

Another new map is located in the Pentagon and it is called "Five". And in this map you play as JFK, Fidel Castro, Richard Nixon and some other random guy (I haven't taken the time to figure out who he is but a kinky some cabinet member). And their one-liners are hilarious. From what I know the Pentagon has three levels that use elevators to move to it looks super fun.

***Something new in this release is the quick revive perk which in the previous zombies did nothing when you played solo now revives you. And you can buy quick revive up to three times so basically of three lives in solo player zombies now and that is very cool.Plus when you are down you get Akimbo PaP handguns that are like canons!

Pro Tip:If your playing solo and the doctor comes to steal your gun just cook a frag and go down and you get akimbo pack-a-punched guns while you are being revived.then blast him and he dies quick.

Fire Sale puts a box in evey location for 30 seconds and the box only costs 10 points.Firesale Pack-A-Punch opens the PaP room & upgrades only cost 1000pt vs. 5000pts like normal.

New weapons I've seen one is the thunder gun and the other is the freeze ray. Now both undergone as I believe 12 shots with a two shot magazine. It basically shoots a pulse wave that takes out large amounts of zombies. But with only a two shot magazine is kind of limited. The other new gun that I've seen is the freeze Ray and what it does is turn the running zombies in the slow walkers for a short time. Rainbow Six Vegas 2 (Jewel Case) Review

Rainbow Six Vegas 2
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I saw a copy of this on my local BestBy store for $10.Seeing that I got a pre-paid gift card on me, I decided to buy this and play it for awhile. This is an "Encore" published version, so it doesn't have all the paper manuals of the original UbiSoft version. The manuals are in the PDF format and is inside the disc.Version number of the game is 1.03 I believe, but the latest is 1.06 on the web.I have never played the original version, but I can say that this is a very polished game, with smooth gameplay and nice graphics. It crashed 2 times so far when loading, so that's not too bad.My system is more than adequate for this game and produces nice framerates (it's currently running on wide-screen @ 1680x1050,16:10, max resolution).I didn't try out the multi-player system yet, as I'm not quite seasoned enough.

For those of you who thinks this is a typical Unreal/Doom type FPS, think again. This is a more realistic tactical FPS that requires squad-mates and cover system to survive.I actually like this better, as it's a lot like Mass-Effect and Gears of War.I end of using my right-mouse button (cover) more than the left-mouse button (fire weapon). The big thing I don't like is that the weapons are pretty much the same, as there are some really redundant guns.I would prefer a system where the guns are more unique and hence, more special. For the price I paid, I've been spending hours trying to perfect my play. This is definitely worth a price (I last saw the original UbiSoft version selling for $7)!

System: Intel E8200 (3.0GHz)/2GB RAM/ATI 4380/Windows XP.

FragFX Shark Wireless for PS3, PC and MAC (with mousepad) Review

FragFX Shark Wireless for PS3, PC and MAC
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
i'm a pc gamer. hardcore. mouse and keyboard since the quake 3 arena days. i have never been able to compete on the consoles because i can't get my thumbs to make a controller do what i want. while all of my friends play on consoles.
for people like me the Shark is a godsend.
i own the original wired fragfx, a fragenstein, and a scorch. the shark performs well above all of these.
the mouse movement on the shark is perfect. playing mw2 with the in game sensitivity at 9 and the shark set around 2.
my only problem with it is the size. the mouse is just too big. i need to hold my hand a certain way just to reach all of the buttons..kind of annoying. and we can really do without the rapid fire and macros.
when i wear this one out i'll definitely buy another.

Call Of Duty: Roads To Victory Review

Call Of Duty: Roads To Victory
Average Reviews:

Call of Duty: Roads to Victory didn't get the love in reviews when it came out but I bought this game because of the past games in this series. Roads to Victory translates pretty well on the PSP and is a lot of fun to play. The game does provide a decent challange in two campaigns. American and British and it does get hard in some palces where you will do a couple times over.

The graphics are better then what we saw in Medal of Honor: Heroes and is so much clearer and easier to see where everything is. As for the gameplay, it pretty much keeps the formula from the console versions which is what makes the game work. The sound is okay not great but it is on the PSP after all and it does what it can to be as authentic as possible.

The replay value is great because you can unlock medals as we as other cool stuff depending on how well you did on each mission. The only thing I got to unlock was a wallpaper that I use on my PSP.

All in all, Call of Duty: Roads to Victory is a fun and engaging game that will bring you enjoyment for hours and will make the time fly like that.

I hope this is the first of many Call of Duty games for the PSP.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Review

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I wont bother reviewing the game itself as there are plenty of reivews up for it.Needless to say, it is phenomenal. The $20 credit on Amazon is awesome, and the main reason I buy games from Amazon.

For an additional $20 over the regular addition of the game, the Hardened Edition contains:

The game packaged in a Steelbook case with a very short, black and white manual
An art book
A card/token for a free download of the original Call of Duty

+The original Call of Duty was previously only available on PC.I havent seen a price for it yet, but I'm guessing it will sell for $15 on XBLA and PSN.There is a lengthy single player campaign, as well as 24 player multi-player.The value of the Hardened Edition completly depends on if you're interested in playing Call of Duty 1.I beat the game for PC years ago, and it's great. It will remind you of the old Medal of Honor games, and after playing it on my XBOX 360, it seems the graphics, sound effects, and the story have held up relatively well.I think most Call of Duty fans will enjoy the original and will be glad they played it.

+The art book is about 38 pages, and it's interesting. It actually has commentary from the developers at Infinity Ward, not just pictures.I am really enjoying Modern Warfare 2, so for me it was worth checking out the art book and getting some additional insight into the game. For example, it looks like Infinity Ward originally planned a motorcycle chase through the streets of Washington DC (or possibly Brazil), but it didnt make the final game.

+I love the steelbook. It is the coolest steelbook I have seen, possibly only rivaled by the Gears of War 2 steelbook in the limited edition. It combines colors like gunmetal and black, with a gold and green Modern Warfare 2 logo on the front. The picture on the front is of a soldier, kind of like the regular version of the game, but with cooler colors. The back of the Steelbook is a picture of the White House. If you have never seen a Steelbook before, it is about the same size as a normal XBOX 360 game case, but instead of plastic it is metal. The hinges are heavy duty, the inside is made of very nice and thick plastic, and the case closes perfectly.A Steelbook alone isn't enough to justify much of an additional cost to a game, but when combined with other items in a "special edition" is a cool and collectable item for fans of the game.

-The only thing I would have liked to see in addition to what is in the Hardened Edition is a dvd with some extra content. This could have included some documentary-style "making of..." videos detailing the development of Modern Warfare 2, in addition to some music, concept art, and so on.I think a dvd like that would have added much more value for your extra $20, but unfortunately is not included.

Thank you for reading!

Product Description:
Modern Warfare 2 is a first-person tactical shooter and the sixth entry in the popular Call of Duty series. True to its name and following the lead of its predecessor, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, it places players in modern combat settings, as opposed to the WWII environments of the earlier Call of Duty games. This modern approach brings with it new weapons, action and options. Coupled with a variety of gameplay modes including single player, multiplayer and the co-op Special Ops Mode, it is destined to be one of the most popular games of 2009 and a worthy addition to the Call of Duty series.

If you like fun war games and are tired of fighting the Germans all the time this game is great.I think most people forget there was just as much if not more fighting in the Pacific.Do not listen to all those game geeks the graphics are great for PS2.The best part is it is accurate in its history. It is also rated Teen which means kids can play it not just big kids if you know what I mean.I would like to see the game companies allow parents to turn the language off on some of these Mature games. This is a great Christmas gift to get kids who are 10 and above.Have fun.
