Heroes of Might and Magic 3 Expansion Pack: Armageddon's Blade Review

The original Hereos III lacked something vital that the new version possesses -- challanging campaigns. Believe me, if you thought the original campaigns were tough, you are in for a big suprise. The new units are OK,and not really anything special, although they do provide a few interestingtwists. The random map generator, like all random map generators, creates atotally random map. If you want an all-out battle challange, start yourselfat a high difficulty and have the computer ally with its self. Usedcorrectly, the random maps can provide hours of gameplay, AND make creatingscenarios and campaigns a whole lot easier.

Halo 2 Multiplayer Map Pack Review

Halo 2 Multiplayer Map Pack
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I've been anticipating this for awhile. There's not a lot to it so I'll jump right into the juicy bits - first, it's nice they put the auto-update in the package for those who don't have Live, as the gameplay tweaks have a pretty noticable impact. But it's the maps we're really interested in, right?

CONTAINMENT - This map essentially plays like Coagulation; the big differences are the larger bases and the series of tunnels and ditches. The opening and closing base doors breed interesting strategies, and you've gotta love a map that has the Scorpion tank as a default vehicle. The explosives on this map only serve as a hazard for the vehicles, as they are too spread apart to be used as a defensive weapon against intruders on foot. The bright white snow makes active camo VERY effective on this map. It's a great 2 flag CTF map and will probably work just fine for other large team objective games.

WARLOCK - an INTENSE slayer map and average lifespans tend to be on the short side because of the small space and lack of things to hide behind. This sucks if you're a camper but I like maps and scenarios that force me to get comfortable with new strategies. There are no "power" weapons save for four shotguns, if they count, forcing you to use strategy to gun down your opponent on a level playing field as opposed to blowing them away with a bazooka from a distance. Visually superior to the sterile scenery of the original it was built from (Wizard in Halo 1.)

TURF - I've only played Turf in 1 flag CTF but it was pretty fun. The tight spaces are great for sneaking up on the opposition's base, and equally handy for staging ambushes. My only reservation about objective games on this map is that it is so small - with such short distances to run with the flag or bomb, a single slip up on the part of the defensive team will most likely cost them the round... games like this will probably be pretty short. However, that same small size will make it a fantastic slayer map. Sadly, there is no sword - perhaps Bungie knew I'd "pwn" this map into the ground if they included it [/joke].

SANCTUARY - A circular arena, and a fairly large one at that. This is probably best suited for 4 on 4 team objective or slayer games, leaning more towards assault variants. A visually and atmospherically pleasing map, especially on blue team's side where there is flowing water and a humongous tree. There is a sword but wide open spaces limit its usefulness. Again, a map more situated for medium sized objective or team slayer games, although I wouldn't recommend it for free-for-all slayer.

ELONGATION - A remake of Halo 1 map Longest. It is asthetically far superior to its predecessor, being based on the space station level of Halo 2's campaign with dials and knobs and lights and various things I will never, ever understand. Great lighting effects on the steel plated walls and a brilliant window view of the Earth and its moon. Removing the ladders was a smart move on Bungie's part - not only does it make climbing to the second level much less risky and awkward (and more realistic looking,) but it offers another tight space for close encounter skirmishes. The crates can be an asset as well as a liability as they offer cover and serve as stepping stones, but also make it more difficult to retreat. Great small team 2 flag CTF/assault and small or medium sized slayer map.

BACKWASH - Fantastic atmospheric effects on this one, which is based on the 343 Guilty Spark level of Halo 1. The fog is a tremendously significant element to this map as it hides the location of weapons and breaks up the outline of your opponents (which can also work to your advantage.) The soundtrack is very "lush" sounding, complimented by the amusing if also distracting hum of 2401 Penitent Tangent as it occasionally passes overhead. It's set up with two bases for objective games but lends itself the most to slayer varients, with the hunt-or-be-hunted vibe created by the vision obscurring fog and many trees.

GEMINI - Visually one of my favorite new maps, designed after the High Charity level on Halo 2's campaign mode. All the futuristic sliding doors and random noises are there, and the view of High Charity's core from the "back porch" area is some of the best scenery in all of Halo 2's multiplayer maps. Due to the small nature of the map, it probably won't make a great map for assault or CTF variants, but it's perfectly fine for slayer variants as well as oddball, juggernaut, et cetera.

RELIC - sort of a "storming the beach" style map designed for single flag CTF and assault. Unlike Zanzibar, the water is actually a hazard as you will 'fall to your death' if you swim out too far (something to think about when screeching around haphazardly in your warthog.) This is a very unique map with a very specific setup - the defensive structure is extremely difficult to gain access to as you must travel all the way to the back of it, on the opposite side of the island, to find a ramp, with lots of open space and few obstacles to hide behind inbetween. Also, there is a two way teleporter that can be activated from inside the base (a double-edged sword, as you can imagine.)

TERMINAL - Probably the busiest/most complicated map in the pack, it can be very disorienting before you learn where everything is. It is based on a train terminal somewhere in New Mombasa and the bullet train itself is a very important aspect of this map. No attack can be launched on the defensive base without taking the train into consideration, which deals out sudden death indescriminately. Your vehicle will not save you. After getting your bearings straight, this is a pretty fun map and a flexible one at that. It's complexity lends itself to large slayer games (at least 8 people because of its size) and the bases are designed in a lopsided fashion that encourages single flag CTF in specific.

And now the bonus content - I would not recommend buying this pack based purely on the bonus content. First, the cinematic is novel, and relatively well done, but ultimately isn't about anything. And it's only about 2 or 3 minutes long. The documentary is a lot better and covers each map individually, but in the end it is still too short for comfort - I'm sure there is a lot more to tell us and most of this information is available in the booklet as well, if you're patient enough to read it. Overall, the incentive to buy it comes down to permanence of ownership, since now that you have the disc in your hands, you can reload the maps onto your Xbox no matter how many Xboxes you go through or if your Live service goes kaput. A second, morally questionable, incentive is that I'm pretty sure you can use this to load the maps and game upgrades onto friends' Xboxes if you're having a LAN party and discover that one of the rotten b*stards doesn't have any of the new maps you want to play on (I'm pretty sure Microsoft installed a sort of failsafe involving registration similar to Windows XP, so said rotten b*stard probably would not be able to take those maps online.)

Overall, great purchase, great maps - Bungie did a fantastic job with these fun, unique maps and asthetically they have outdone the old maps by a LOT. One can only hope we will be blessed with another string of great map add-ons some day in the future, but with the immenant release of the Xbox 360, I'm not holding my breath. Soak 'em in.

The Sims 2: Open for Business Expansion Pack Review

The Sims 2: Open for Business Expansion Pack
Average Reviews:

i thought that this was a good game to play, it was fairly inexpensive and you get to make a living off your own store, that you either get to run, or work at, instead of sending your sim away for the day then to come back with a pay check... you actually earned the money that you recieve. I think that some things are really annoying though, because you end up spending much more on your employees and such, and barly make any money at all cause no one will buy your items if they are too expensive, so you have to have another job inorder to make enough to live. And the days go by so fast, you barely have any time to run the store, in between your sims other needs such as hunger and hygene etc.. Also, the customers get mad at really stupid things and end up never coming back and give your store a bad reputation. When i was playing, one of my lawn decorations (a flamingo) was tipped over, and they kept going into histerics about that, or if your trash is full they get really annoyed.
this also is very entertaining though because you are able to run a restaurant, a salon/hair dresser place, an entertainment spot, and pretty much any type of store you want. you can sell anything that is available in the buy mode. this expantion pack also comes with a lot of new objects, clothing, and hair styles, which are fun to use, such as costumes they can wear, a lot of shelving to put goods on, etc.
over all i think that this game was fun, being able to run your own business, but there were a few things that could be better.

This game has tons of neat things. Hook on most games, and get a special stage. Hooking on Sonic one lets you play a whole bunch. Hook on sonic 2 and play as knuckles in sonic 2. Sonic 3 is neat too. Find out about the super emeralds. Or play regularly with lots of levels. The Game Genie is good on this game. (Very rare but fun. I have one)

Neverwinter Nights 2 Expansion Pack: Mask of the Betrayer Review

Neverwinter Nights 2 Expansion Pack: Mask of the Betrayer

(More customer reviews)
...An Epic Adventure with Sneak Attacks

UPDATED: 28 Jan 2008

As buggy as it was, initially, *Neverwinter Nights 2* brought together some of the best elements of the first series into an involved adventure. Now Obsidian Entertainment brings us *Mask of the Betrayer*, which extends both the story and the life of player characters. Though it does suffer from some balance issues.

Unlike the expansions in the first series, *Mask* is an actual sequel. After the climactic events of NWN2, your character awakes deep within a haunted barrow. Your inventory has been stripped of everything other than the armor and jewelry you wore. And the wizard in red isn't forthcoming with answers, as she approaches your stricken form...

Otherwise, MOTB feels a lot like those older expansions, particularly *Hordes of the Underdark*. It's a moodier, more mystical journey than NWN2. And no wonder--your character talks to gods, deals with witches, and exorcises ghosts. The undead play a much bigger role, as do spell casters, and players should invest in silver and adamantine weapons immediately. Paladins and clerics will perform well here.

The engine performs better too; with the 1.10 series patches, the memory leaks and frame-rate issues have been resolved on my power rig. However, it might be necessary to reinstall NWN2 before loading up MOTB--otherwise the Official Campaign (OC) might suffer some quest bugs.

The expansion enjoys more graphical options. Characters trip through monochromatic Planes, dank dungeons, and fuzzy dreams. Spot lighting also sees more use, and objects appear to cast stronger, more impressive shadows.

These colors cast upon new tile sets, including: a richly textured estate and a sewer-like underwater city. But the main setting is the cold, gray nation of Rashomen, styled on a combination of Native American and Scandinavian culture. It's not glacial like the lands in the original series expansions, but the landscape is not for those who suffer from Seasonal Affective Disorder!

Nor is the soundtrack. Obsidian introduces a ton of dreamy, often somber scores, both for Areas and for Battles. As far as sound effects go, MOTB reuses the files of NWN1 and 2, but it also uses a few custom creepy tracks.

Ultimately, however, the effects rest upon the story. And *Mask* is an odd one. The character falls into a maelstrom of curses and conspiracies culminating into a confrontation with Death itself. Along the way it questions both religion and nature, while the player puzzles together a mystery to the bitter end. To this end, the story entwines in themes of masks, costumes and theater. By afflicting the player with a curse, which affects a much wider conflict, the expansion also expresses a dramatic urgency in place of NWN2's casual journey.

But in achieving that drama, MOTB is also more linear than the OC. To navigate it, I was able to call upon a much smaller band of companions, and the four-member limit is rigidly enforced. At 25 hours in length, I beat it in about three days.

This can assure customers worried about the curse. Because the expansion is so straight-forward, there's not much to explore. Also, companions and items retard the curse anyways. Thus, only an incompetent player is going to have difficulty managing it.

Managing character itself is another matter. Prior to the latest patch, *Mask of the Betrayer* forced characters towards Lawful Good or Chaotic Evil alignments. Whenever the character acted upon the curse, it assigned a minimum two-point shift in lawfulness--shifts which rapidly add up.Bonuses come with these extremes, including uber weapons or stat-boosting feats.

Otherwise, this conflicts with most alignment-restricted classes. Thus the 1.11 patch removed the alignement shift entirely.

Another balance issue--the expansion is too short to justify its rewards. Nearly every chest bulges with thousands of gold pieces. While nearly every quest awards thousands of xp. This is out of scale with the OC, and causes characters to become too powerful too quickly.

Speaking of power, I come at last to the revised item enchanting system for *Mask*. Gone are the need for recipe books, ingredients, and even magician benches. With a few exceptions, every "recipe" is found in the item description for three new classes of essence: Volatile, Brilliant, and Pristine. The multitudes of undead drop these by the bucket load--no distillation required. There are also a handful of superduper essences that boost your weapons to absurd levels of elemental damage.

The enchantments focus heavily on elemental damage and stat-boosting. So you can forget about making Holy Avengers or Fortified Armor. You can boost weapons, armor, gloves, and shields up to +10 if you've acquired the right stuff from the Evil game path. And epic casters increase the maximum number of enchantments to four. But for some reason you can't enchant bracers, and there are no ingredients for bomb flasks or traps. While I appreciate the big boosts overall, I don't appreciate the limited selection of recipes.

But apart from these funky balance issues, I enjoyed playing this epic in a small package. Bioware never published a follow-up for veteran characters of the first NWN, so I'm glad Obsidian took on an actual sequel. A lot of performance issues are resolved and the enchanting system is simple and powerful. Obsidian also gave me a powerful character, and I hope another expansion comes along which can put it to the test.

-* for play balance problems.

Dynasty Warriors 5 Xtreme Legends Review

Dynasty Warriors 5 Xtreme Legends

This is a great game with all the new features. Destiny Mode where you play as a soldier, Xtreme Mode where you lead your own army and the creation is alot better. But with such a great game, there are some small problems. First off, Destiny Mode is too short. Only 8 missions. You cant even learn all the cool skills by that time. Also you cant really explore anything because if you leave you officers side, he'll die and you have to restart. Sometimes he sends you to go help another officer but you can't because your officer will die. Xtreme mode is VERY HARD. Is easy when you first start but you dont restore health between missions. The only way to do that is to buy food which goes up in price every mission. So if your poor, you'll be dead very easily. Also there alot of great things to do in Destiny and Xtreme mode but you only get 15 minutes. Xtreme mode has to be the most fustrating because there are SO MANY ARCHERS! You wont die by the enemy soldiers or officers. The archers will. There are too many. In Legend Mode, there are only a few levels. After you beat those, you get bored pretty fast. But this game isnt all bad. Its very fun but very challenging. Its worth buying or renting only is you played Dynasty Warriors 5 first.

The Sims Makin' Magic Expansion Pack Review

The Sims Makin' Magic Expansion Pack
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Wow.. I haven't written a review on this game sooner because I've been having too much fun PLAYING it since the day it came out!!In my opinion, this is probably the best Sims expansion pack yet.I have enjoyed every pack though, none of them were bad. This one just has so many fun new items, the new spells are a BLAST, and Magic Town is just a hoot.
Some of the cool new features:
*Magic Town*
This place rocks! Not only can you buy stuff, you can take a ride on a rollercoaster, do quests for the merchants (and get handsomely rewarded!), perform magic tricks for magicoins, and so much more!
*New Spells*
The spells are the coolest part of the expansion pack, no questions on that!Sometimes the funnest part is making your spell fail! And there are just so many fun little easter eggs thrown in.. like when your "Horn of Plenty" spell fails.. you can run around kissing all the frogs (frog prince perhaps?? ;)Also you can use the Enchant spell to turn your gnomes in to great gardners (just be wary of casting the Perfect Garden spell when you have live gnomes!).
*New Items*
WOW they added a lot of new items!!You can grow your own grapes and elderberries, then make them in to nectar to sell or keep. You can also buy baking supplies and bake bread in your new oven. You can churn butter, you can make gargoyles, get honey from your beehive, skeleton maid to clean your house.. the list goes on and on.
*Magic Town HOMES*
Ok, these homes are neat - but my beef is that they are so small! For one Sim it might work, but I moved in a huge magic family and had to tear down the house and build a new one.The houses on the lots are neat - I just wish they were bigger!
*Pet Dragons*
These are a lot of fun!The only thing is I think they might be a little buggy still. My nice dragon got to the point where it would bite my Sims if they tried to give it any attention, then it got mad it wasn't getting attention and packed its bags and left. :(
Overall - I give this pack 5 stars.I would give it more if I could! It's one of the best packs yet, and probably one with the least bugs! Its a lot of fun for all Sims fans.HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

Civilization 4: Beyond The Sword Review

Civilization 4: Beyond The Sword
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Most expansion packs are disappointing, and until now the Civilization ones were no exception. They add a few new units, a few new civilizations, and maybe a concept or two. Although "Beyond the Sword" does all of this, it does a lot more. The additions--corporations that grow and develop, random events that affect relations and growth, a new espionage system that puts teeth back into spies--change the strategy of the game, adding complications and nuances throughout. This is especially good when all of the territories have been claimed. Before this pack, late gameplay was the least interesting part. Now, it is just as enjoyable as the rest of the game. There are also little things that I've enjoyed. Building wonders has always been a great part of Civilization, and now there are many more. New military units, like anti-tank infantry, guided missiles, and paratroopers, add new strategic possibilities to war, and personally, I really like the new animations for the spaceship. The only thing a littledisappointing is that they couldn't get Leonard Nimoy to read the script for the new technologies. I don't know who the new guy is, but compared to Nimoy, he sounds pretty lame. You won't be disappointed with this expansion pack. After playing this at my house a few nights ago, a friend of mine went home and ordered his own copy immediately. If you're a fan of the Civilization series, I suggest that you do the same.

The Movies: Stunts & Effects Expansion Pack Review

The Movies: Stunts & Effects Expansion Pack
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The movies by Lionhead Studios, was a better then average game. The game allows you to take the role of a Movie Studio manager to build and operate a Movie Studio. The game also allows you to make movies and this feature could almost be considered an additional game in its own right. The original game had a few flaws. One of the most serious was a lack of employees. There is an un-official patch witch corrects this but the patch can seriously bog down a slower computer. On my computer (Pentium 4, 3.20 Ghz.) the game is literally un-playable after a few hours with the patch in operation. The reason is that the patch simply provides an unending stream of employees which is too much for the computer to handle.Other problems with the game were minor. The lot is too small to build all that a player probably wants but a player can tear down buildings they don't use as often to build other ones. It is a bit "simmish", by that I mean the player is expected to provide a slew of comforts to the NPCs in the game and address their "needs".
The original game had most of the best features of a tycoon style game with the added feature of making movies you can view and share online. My complaint with the expansion, Stunts and Effects, is that it really added very little to the game. You now have stuntmen and your actors can perform their own stunts as well. You also have more effects you can add to your movies. So the movie making side of the game has been improved a little. The problem with employees has not been corrected. The studio lot has not been expanded so you will not have room for every building you may want and the expansion gives more buildings to try to place into the relatively small lot.A larger lot would have been better. If this has been an optional download then I would have nothing negative to say about it but I am disappointed in Lionhead for making this an expansion. For those who use this game to make movies and are not overly concerned about the building and managing side of the game, this may be a worthwhile purchase. For those who want to play a tycoon style game, this expansion adds very little for the cost.My opinion is that Lionhead should address some of the flaws of the game before they go about adding expansions. The studio lot is too small and the employees' problem should be fixed.A good expansion fixes any problems that patches missed and adds at least 50% more features and game playing time to a game. You're not quite purchasing a new game but you expect to add substantially to your old one. This expansion adds a little but misses the mark to justify its price.

The Sims 3: Ambitions Review

The Sims 3: Ambitions
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I got my game delivered on Friday, May 28 and was very excited to get it installed and start playing. This really looked like it would be a ton of fun and it was at first. The new town that you get with this expansion, Twinbrook, is beautiful. The EA Sims team did a wonderful job creating this new town. There are lots of new things to see (I really like the "swampy" area, it's kinda creepy and spooky). They also added several new items with this expansion and I think the new laundry system adds some more realism to the game. I thought it was kind of dumb at first but it is kind of neat to see them do laundry now.

As for the careers, I started off with the new architect career since I love to build houses. It seems more like an interior designer career to me. All of the jobs were to redo some particular room so there was very little building to do. This may change after a while but it got boring doing the same types of rooms over and over so I moved on.

Next, I tried the ghost hunter. Again, this was a lot of fun in the beginning but I soon realized that I get the same types of jobs over and over. There are about 5 different types of jobs for your ghost hunter sim to perform. These range from collecting "casper" looking spirits to investigating paranormal activity inside the rabbit holes around town. This career got boring fast too. You do the same types of jobs over and over and you only get maybe 2 or three jobs each night. I had my sim do these and he was back home way before his job time was supposed to be over. Also, it didn't take me very long to reach the top of the career.

After I had been ghost hunting a while, I got my sim hitched to a sim lady who registered as a self employed sculptor. This is probably my favorite of the careers I have tried so far. She sculpts some pretty cool looking statues after her skill gets high enough. When she first started, she was sculpting chairs, toilets, and other household items and it was pretty humorous to see these. I like that she starts out with a big block of whichever material I choose for her to use (clay, topiary, wood, ice, etc.) and I get a nice surprise when she finishes. If you want a particular sculpture, you can have your sim sulpt it if he or she has already learned to make. After my sim's skill was high enough, the sculptures sell for a high simolean price too. So, between her sculptures and my ghost hunter's salary plus selling spirits to the Science Lab, they got pretty rich rather quickly.

My sculptor's lifetime wish is to maximiaze her painting, sculpting and inventing skills so I also have an inventor's table. Most of the stuff that she has invented is useless crap that you can sit around your house as nothing more than decoration (like a bobbing llama head that drinks). She has invented the digger thing but it woke up everyone in the house when I tried to use it and then the hole only had scrap in it. The digger may prove to be interesting though from what I've seen in videos online.

The only other career I have tried so far is the stylist and I hated it. I created a stylist to be married to my architect. Each time she offers to give a makeover to another sim, it opens a new CAS window where you style the sim however they request (new makeup, new hairstyle, new everyday wear, etc.). At the start of this career, no matter what I chose in CAS, the sim always came out looking horrible. It got on my nerves so I gave up on it very quickly. I don't see the point of doing anything to them if they are just going to come out looking bad.

I haven't tried any of the other careers yet. I did get a simbot and it annoys me. The sim couple had a baby and it would always go get it out of the crib, even if it was sleeping. The baby has been pretty cranky with this thing around. The sim babies have always kind of worked my nerves anyways but they are necessary if you want to play a family but they really are annoying with this thing around unless I watch him and make him leave the kid alone so it can get some sleep. It's handy to have it do the laundry and some cleaning but it keeps breaking stuff in the house when I try to have it do upgrades. It's handiness skill is high but it always breaks whatever it's working on so I hate the thing. It just kind of gets in the way.

One thing that did surprise me and I thought was a nice touch is that as your sims progress in their careers, they will get a notification that the mayor is honoring them at city hall. If they make it there in time, they get medals, commemorative plaques or even keys to the city. My ghost hunter even received something that looks like a small graveyard. It's really kind of cool looking. I forget what it's called though. I do think that the recogonition for outstanding work is pretty cool and it was totally unexpected for me.

All in all, this EP is kind of fun but it is VERY repetitive and I can see it getting old fast. There were not very many new items which adds to the sims everyday lives. There is the laundry system, trampoline and a couple of other things though. Oh, and the "Curly" hair that you get when you register the game is horrid!

If you like the new task oriented sims that it seems we have to live with now, you'll like this. As for me, I really wish they would give us an EP that gives the sims more open activities like some of the EP's of the past (Nightlife, please!). I don't care for this new style of play that the EA Sims team keeps coming up with. I miss the days of the open ended gameplay. Sure, it got repetitive too but I at least controlled more of the sims lives than I do now and that was what I liked about it. I mean the game is called The SIMS, it should focus on SIMS and not a pretty new town or repetitive tasks that are far too easy and get way too boring way too fast. For the way the Sims has now progressed (whether I like it or not) this is a decent expansion. I can have my sims do the painting, sculpting, writing, etc. and register them as self employed and still get some fun out of it though so it's not completely horrible for me either.

The Sims 3 Late Night Review

This EP is pretty cool.Got it today and played it all afternoon and late into the evening. It offers quite a bit of interesting stuff. There are a couple of new career paths (i.e. Mixologist, Celebrity Actor, and Movie Director).LOTS of new objects, hair styles, young adult clothes.Hot tubs are back in this one.Indoor swimming pools. The ability for Sims to skinny dip.CAS has some new stuff too, including tattoos, and the ability to give more muscle definition as well as make women's chests bigger...not quite Dolly Pardon size but pretty big nonetheless..lol.There is also sexy nightwear for the ladies, sexy shoes, and sexy casual and formal outfits for nights out in the city. The new world included in the EP is a city full of skyscrapers with condos, apartments, and penthouse style suites to buy. There are also houses on the outskirts of town and plenty of space to place lots. The venues are combined in the high rises with plenty of places for Sims to find dancing and dining out.Vampires are in this EP also.Celebrity Sims are everywhere, too, but to get noticed by them beyond an autograph takes some effort.Your own Sims can gain celebrity status as well by pursuing the actor career.Celebrity status gives them stars over their name and makes other Sims oooh and ahhh over them wherever they go.There are also new additional traits to give Sims in CAS, new skills for them to learn and master, and new lifetime goals for them to achieve.

No crashes whatsoever this time...woohoo!Game play has been smooth, fluid, with many corrections of EA's past mistakes.Very pleased regarding that.

Overall I think this EP was worth it.More so than Ambitions. This one has a lot of neat stuff in it, new interactions, living environments, lifestyles....and it even includes the ability to hire an Executive Butler to wait on your Sim hand and foot :)I love the butler! The nightclubs are fun with lots of special effects type objects to add interest, as well as Sims dancing on top of the bar..I thought that was a cute feature. Some nightclubs are difficult to get into unless your Sim either 'knows someone' or has celebrity status or has certain traits. The bouncer that guards the door won't let just anybody in.Some don't have bouncers at the door, but might have a dress code, be it formal, casual, or beachwear.Sims will also get invites to parties hosted by other, computer controlled Sims.Invites can either be accepted or rejected but accepting them and attending has benefits. There are also more musical instruments to learn and master, and Sims can jam together...piano, bass, cello.

I'm really liking this one and glad I got it.
