The Punisher Review

The Punisher

It's been a long wait, but it's finally here."The Punisher" is now available for the PS2 (there are also X-Box and PC versions available), and I can honestly say that they have finally come out with a superb vision of the dark and brutal world of this cold-blooded antihero. It's violent. It's disturbing. It's unsettling. It's intense.

As it should be.

You're Frank Castle, a.k.a. "The Punisher."You have cemented yourself in a life of violence as you plead to punish the guilty since the judicial system does not.The story in the game is that you have been picked up by the police and they are now questioning you about a number of "assaults" carried out by you.You relive those flashbacks and gun down criminals left and right while trying to find out who is the mastermind behind the sudden crime wave (not to mention the number of attempts on your life).Your gut says it's Kingpin, but evidence points elsewhere. It's up to you to find out and learn why you're locked up in Ryker's Island to begin with.

The game has a pretty simple formula to it and once you've done it all... you've done it all.And yet, the game is so entertaining and engaging that the replay level is extremely high. The graphics are crisp and clear, the music is haunting and fits in with the mood, and the unfolding storyline guarantees you wanting to complete the game. There are a variety of weapons for you to choose from and different methods for taking out criminals. You can perform quick kills, use them as shields to protect yourself from gunfire, and the best feature of all, interrogate the guilty. You're going to need help along the way, so getting some answers from the criminal scum is a must. There's simple interrogations (gun tension, choke, face smash and punch), and there are also "special interrogations" on each level and section (can you say "buzz saw," "shark" and "electric chair?").You can also perform "special quick kills" that differ from level to level. Not to mention the intense "slaughter mode" where you assault your enemies with an unlimited amount of knives.

A nice bonus is that the voice of "The Punisher" is none other than Tom Jane, who was the star of the most recent "Punisher" flick. To some, this may not be a big deal, but to fans like me, it is MAJOR.An excellent decision, I must say.He really adds the tone and mood of Frank Castle splendidly.

Some of the drawbacks are that the controls take a little getting used to and the number of enemies on certain sections can be overwhelming. Also, some of the "special interrogations" can be tricky and if you're not careful, you may prematurely kill the only person who can help you out (I suggest using the "special interrogations" on enemies that don't have the white skulls above them, so that way the only penalty you'll get for prematurely wasting them is some lost points).Like I said, once you've done everything, you've pretty much have done EVERYTHING.However, I have to say the replay level is extremely high. You'll want to replay certain levels over and over again.

Overall, I'm extremely happy with "The Punisher" videogame for PS2."The Punisher" is one of my favorite comic book characters, and this game does a fine representation of it.If you're a fan, definitely check it out as soon as you can.

Remember, it's not vengeance... it's punishment.

I've played this game right through to the end (in japanese) and all I can say is WOW! This tops the original in every possible way. The graphics, the sound, the moves and the gameplay in general is simply light years ahead of the original. The battles are simply spectacular! Almost all of theexisting moves have been beautifully redesigned and there are an extraforty as well. The otherwise dull Quick Attack for instance looks superb onthis game. 1998: SNK releases King of Fighters 98: The Slugfest for the Neo*Geo. The 5th game in the series & has been a fan favorite since.

2008: SNK Playmore (successor company to SNK) releases King of Fighters 98: The Ultimate Match for the Taito Type X (arcade hardware). A PS2 version was released months later in Japan.

And now it's finally released in North America. So what's the different between this & the original game (which is in here as well)? They are:

9 new fighters that wasn't in the original game (the KoF 96 boss team, Kasumi, Eiji, Goenitz, Orochi, as well as Iori & Leona in their Riot of the Blood form), meaning that every fighter that appeared in 94 & throughout the Orochi Saga (95-97) are here. There are also new extra versions of King, Blue Mary, Geese, and Ryuji Yamazaki. King is based on her Art of Fighting 2 counterpart while the rest are hybrids of their appearances throughout the Real Bout Fatal Fury series. The returning fighters have been tweaked to give the game more balance with some given new moves.

In terms of game play, Extra & Advance Mode have also been mortified. The former's POW meter has been shorten (but it won't get any shorter when you lose a fighter unlike in the original game.) & it fills up quicker. There's also a new mode: Ultimate Mode which allows you to customize features from both Extra & Advance modes. Also unlike in the original game, any owned stock will be transferred to the next fighter. A big plus as you no longer have to worry about losing some & all your stock when you get K.O.ed.

Also, Omega Rugal's not the only final boss you can go up against. Depending on how well you play, you can also go up against Goenitz (& going up against the KoF 96 Boss Team prior) or Orochi (& fighting the Orochi Team prior).

The PS2 version has lots of choices for the solo gamer (it's still best to play with a friend) from Endless Survival, & Challenge Mode (with 30 different challenges). As previouslymentioned, the original King of Fighters 98's in here as well, which I think is based on the AES versionas there`s a vs. mode, survivor mode & you could even play as Omega Rugal too! Also there's no real loading & it lacks the audio miscues that exists in the PS2 Orochi Collection version.

I only have two issues with this game. One is the graphics. While the stages are very nice (& there's more of them here than in the original game & you can set them up in 2D or 3D), the sprites look like they haven't been mortified in years, if not over a decade. Nonetheless, this ain't Capcom Fighting Evolution! The other issue is the fact that there are no real endings. Even the intro to Omega Rugal & his ending scene when you beat him in the original game are omitted here.

Despite this, the Ultimate Match takes the original King of Fighters 98 game & makes it even better. In reality, it also makes the recently released King of Fighters Collection- The Orochi Saga somewhat obsolete as you'll getting the best elements of the first 4 games rolled up into this one. Plus, at $20, this is a steal. Add in unlockablies like hidden fighters, artwork, & game play video & you got a game that's a must for fans of the series, or 2-D fighters in general. With this out, & Samurai Shodown Anthologycoming out soon, how about bringing the recently released-in Japan, King of Fighters 2002: Unlimited Match to North America?

In addition to the game, you'll be getting a poster & a bonus CD. It's a data disc, so you'll need a PC to access it. It has wallpapers & a couple of trailers for this game & the upcoming King of Fighters XII.

This game is what you'd expect from Nickelodeon, and then some. The hype has nothing over this game - you have to see it to believe it!
The gameplay is a bit short, but the replay value is wonderful. You can unlock hidden boss fights and mini-games.
The pixeled characters are well done, and the "leveling up" is something I didn't expect to see in a Nick game (its more of an RPG thing), but it adds a lot. The only thing is that you can only level up 10 times, and that's it. So you can't get super powerful like in an RPG and take everything out with one hit. I have to admit, I was hoping for that...
But still, it's a really great game that does a good job following the movie "Ultimate Enemy" and will be a big hit for any Danny Phantom fans.

I bought this years ago, when it first came out. I'd enjoyed Leather Goddesses of Phobos and wanted more Infocom.
I hate to say it, but I really only play the Zork games regularly. I piddle with the rest, but rarely play them much.
The fun of these is avoiding getting killed. That's also the frustration of these, along with not being able to move ahead. I mean, how do you know whether to eat the Chinese food yourself, or give it to the hacker? Not knowing is why I'm still playing these games after -- god, is it 20 years?
If you can't spell or type, or if you absolutely must see mahem on the screen, these are notyour games. They require a different kind of logic. I fail at logic.
Not all the games have built-in hints to make cheating easy. I like cheating.
I find that this collection (which is on 3.5 disks) is hard on anything newer than Win95. Platform differences, junk characters, etc. really reduce the pleasure. I would love to see all the games redone in a manner friendly to modernplatforms, since I am not a savvy computer geek (or a housework geek. I'm just a lazy geek).

Now, if I can only buy Treasures II at this late stage!

Zoids: Battle Legends Review

Zoids: Battle Legends
Average Reviews:

I bought this game and cruised past the first 11 levels of mission mode as the republic and then once I got to the 12th...It wasn't pretty. Same goes for the battle mode. I got past the first 9 levels and then I had to face an ultra saurus pretty much alone because the "Partner" that you are forced to join with is incredibly stupid. The Ultra saurus can't be physically attacked because it has some electric force field on it so you get shocked if you actually make contact with it. Then your partner (being the dumbass that he is) just keeps on jumping right into him. Fortunately you can stop him from doing that by telling him to bombard the enemy but it's still very, very, very hard. Two player mode is really fun too because you can load customized zoids from your memory card into the game so that you and your friend can use your own zoids. Facing the computer is a joke though. Fists mode is alright, it's just VS. mode with a harder level that may have a hole in the middle or be on a plat form etc. I recommend this game to any zoids fan.

Dragonball Z Shin Budokai Review

Dragonball Z Shin Budokai
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Dragon Ball Z: Shin Budokai is a port of the incredibly popular Dragon Ball Z: Budokai line.Shin means new or better, so get ready for a new clean game.

Story
5/10

The story of Shin Budokai roughly follows Dragon Ball Z Movie 12: Fusion Reborn.A few plotholes here in there, kind of an unoriginal story A.K.A., Son Goku finds a new enemy, enemy gets followers, Son Goku and friends eventually kill the enemy. The Shin Budokai story is FULL of grammatical errors. It's kind on annoying, but it's also common in most portable Dragon Ball Z games.

Graphics
9/10
AMAZING graphics. The menus aren't too special, words, nice looking letters, colorful, yea.The battlefield is pretty darn amazing though. The stages are the same as the ones from Dragon Ball Z 3, with the exception of Hell of course. The 3D backgrounds are nicely done. The characters are nicely done, not just clothing, but like all of the little details from the anime are right there. The only flaw is a slight freeze in between frames and the lack of changing facial expressions (e.g. Broly is always grinning).

Gameplay
7/10
so if Shin means new, does the mean it is a new battle system?Pretty much. This battle system is supposed to be an amped version of the DBZ3 battle system. The gameplay flows perfectly. It is very fast paced. The brand new Aura Burst lets your character fly around freely and quickly. It is like taking the good parts of Dragon Ball Z 3 and Dragon Ball Z: Sparking! and throwing them into one battle system.Combos are still available, and can go on just as long as the PS2 combos. It sounds like I'm pretty happy with the gameplay, so why did I give it a 7?Well, after Dragon Road is complete, there is absolutly nothing to do.Afterwards, you only have your Survival, Free Battle, and Time Attack Modes. And the Profile Cards are REALLY boring. It's like customizing a school ID with Dragon Ball stickers. Also, the lack of multiple In-Game Transformations makes combos a lot harded to think up.And every character is pre-equipped with techniques, unlike in Dragon Ball Z 1, 2 , and 3 where you get to choose what techniques your character gets.Making every character the same.

Sound
6/10
I hate the new theme song. Also, the music is the same recycled music that we've been hearing sicne 2001.While many of the good tracks are still in Shin Budokai, I want some new music.I mean, Atari and Bandai have legends of American and Japanese music. They can totally do better than what they've been using for the past 5 years. What I love about the sound, Japanese voice actors.Plain and simple. The English voice actors are great too, but the original is just where it's at.

Overall
7.5/10
Dragon Ball Z: shin Budokai puts tons of new mechanics on the table, but doesn't give you too much new stuff that's good. The game gets REALLY boring after you beat Dragon Road and you may feel like you wasted your money after about a week. The game still delivers what a Dragon ball Z fan wants though, fast paced action. The game could do with better mini-games other than Dragon Pace and Profile Cards. Also, I feel kind of annoyed that Atari would advertise Wireless online Play when you can only play using Ad Hoc WiFi.

Rent or Buy?
A rent for sure, if you like games that last 3-5 hours after spending $40, then go ahead, buy it.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Review

Call of Duty: Black Ops

REGULAR BLACK OPS HAS ZOMBIES THE HARDENED EDITION COMES WITH THE 4 PREVIOUS BUT UPGRADED ZOMBIE MAPS FROM W@W!
The fact this is sold out goes to show just how popular zombies was in the previous call of duty. I got a little pre-release info on black ops zombies you ready for this.

I will update this review when I have more information on the four old zombie maps that come with the hardened edition.

Please search AskACapper on YouTube if you want to see some of my tips on how to reach high levels in the zombie modes!

It seems BO only comes with 2 new zombie maps and a 3rd game mode called Black OPs arcade which is a top down zombie shooter. You unlock this mode by looking down at the man menu at your hands while in the chair then press L1 7 R1 repeatedly and you'll break free.then walk over to a computer in the room press x and type DoA (Dead OPs Arcade) and enjoy the fun.

New maps include Keno Der Toten (Theater of the Dead) which is a 1940s era German theater much like the one inglorious bastards where they had the final shootout. It is definitely very cool looking and the new crawler zombies who when killed exploded leaving the green cloud that larger vision. These crawlers I believe will make their appearance in all the zombie maps. This map has a teleporter like some of the previous zombie maps and it looks like a good time.

Pro tip: on this first map save your money and open the door on the left as there is a submachine gun there. Do not buy the shotgun in the starting room as it will not give you the points you need to open doors and to progress to the power switch and a box.

Another new map is located in the Pentagon and it is called "Five". And in this map you play as JFK, Fidel Castro, Richard Nixon and some other random guy (I haven't taken the time to figure out who he is but a kinky some cabinet member). And their one-liners are hilarious. From what I know the Pentagon has three levels that use elevators to move to it looks super fun.

***Something new in this release is the quick revive perk which in the previous zombies did nothing when you played solo now revives you. And you can buy quick revive up to three times so basically of three lives in solo player zombies now and that is very cool.Plus when you are down you get Akimbo PaP handguns that are like canons!

Pro Tip:If your playing solo and the doctor comes to steal your gun just cook a frag and go down and you get akimbo pack-a-punched guns while you are being revived.then blast him and he dies quick.

Fire Sale puts a box in evey location for 30 seconds and the box only costs 10 points.Firesale Pack-A-Punch opens the PaP room & upgrades only cost 1000pt vs. 5000pts like normal.

New weapons I've seen one is the thunder gun and the other is the freeze ray. Now both undergone as I believe 12 shots with a two shot magazine. It basically shoots a pulse wave that takes out large amounts of zombies. But with only a two shot magazine is kind of limited. The other new gun that I've seen is the freeze Ray and what it does is turn the running zombies in the slow walkers for a short time. This linked with a teammate using the thunder gun could be very effective for killing large quantities of zombies at once.

The orignal maps are updated & somewhat harder.I believe these maps will be DLC soon.

Okay that's all I have so far I will update this as I know more. Please check out my YouTube channel just search AskACapper and support my custom button remapping petition that will help handicapped gamers.

I am Chuck Bittner the capper and I approve of this message!

DISNEY Tron 2.0 (Windows) Review

DISNEY Tron 2.0
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Tron 2.0 is a game that does a lot of things. It has a storyline, it has action, it has puzzles, it has light-cycles, it has the glowing light and pools of energy, it is just like playing the movie.

The good - Once you get used to the way the world works its a lot of fun, walking around in the world of Tron, listening to the figures talk. It is primarily a first-person shooter, er. thrower, yes thats right, the primary weapon is the Tron disk which you can arc and bounce and de-rez opponents just like the movie, although I never did master it well enough to do much more than straight shots.

The story picks up 20 years after the Tron movie left off, you star as Jet, the son of the original Alan that was digitized, in a desperation move you are digitized to try and find the legacy Tron code and figure out what is happening to the system.

The bad - I found the world very wierd, the security stuff very difficult to understand and I really was going to give up on it for awhile. Eventually I figured out how it all worked and the game became a lot more fun, so if you find yourself getting bored or figidty, just give it a couple more levels and you should start having fun again!

There are light-cycles in the game and I never did enjoy that section, dying hundreds of times to finally make it through the level is not my idea of fun..but I suppose some people will like it.

Graphically its wonderful, with pretty light system requirements (its an old game now) but it looks really good. Because of the "glow" effect, everything looks correct. Surround sound is not supported but the game sounds pretty good.

All in all, a definate recommendation. If you liked the movie at all, this is your chance to star in an updated version! from the tiny little spaces in the old mainframe to the gigantic "net" this game is a lot of fun and more than a mindless shooter.

IL2: Forgotten Battles Ace Expansion Pack Review

IL2: Forgotten Battles Ace Expansion Pack
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This is an expansion: you still need to buy IL-2: Forgotten Battles. That being said, this appears to enhance the original FB; the graphics appear to be better and the AI (friendly as well as enemy) sharper. I've had pilot training and find this flight sim to have an accurate feel.
Your Eastern Front pilot careers now include French (Normandie sqdn), Romanian and Polish pilots, complete with their languages chattering on your radio during missions; same for Quick Missions, where, for instance, you can fly the Romanian IAR80 fighter to see how it performs, not simply fight it as a Soviet pilot. Same for assorted Italian and British aircraft that fought on the Eastern Front, including Fiat and Gladiator biplanes, which you can fly. Cockpits seem to be unique to each plane, not generic.
The FB: AEP expansion throws in a Normandy campaign (maps, careers) and even some Pacific stuff, though there the aircraft are limited (Japanese are limited to 2 models each of the Ki-84 and Zero fighter). It also includes exotica like the YP-80 jet and German (prototype, never flown) Go229 flying wing, so you now have a game that includes biplane fighters and jets, which covers the rapid progress of flight 1939-45 and, even if somewhat anacronistic in an Eastern Front sim, will still save you the price of some of the other flight sims and allow you more flight cross-training.
Still, if all you want is an improvement on a great flight sim -- Forgotten Battles -- this will add value and lifespan to it. If you're new to it and are interested in a realistic flight sim, get FB, get the AEP, and go to it. Disclaimers: You'll need strong computer speed and graphics, and I also recommend flight pedals (the CH model is a good one) to go with your joystick.

Half-Life: Counter-Strike Review

Half-Life: Counter-Strike
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Snap that Unreal Tournament CD, cuz you'll never play it again! Counter-Strike is the most played online game ever, having more players than Quake3 and Unreal Tournament "combined", and boasting over 2000+ servers! It made the two year old Half-Life the most played game, but still, CS's playerbase is the largest!
Now, let's get into the game! It's a counter-terrorism game, allowing you to be a terrorist (T) or a counter-terrorist (CT), picking 4 different models per team, each having 144 realistic animations, you can see them reload for god sakes! You take part in realistic locations: Las Vegas, The Aztecs, Italy, The Middle-east, oil rigs, hotels, militia compounds, and many more! You are involved in many scenarios, such as bomb defusion (de_), where terrorists must plant a bomb in any of the two bomb points, where as CTs must eliminate the Ts, or defuse the bomb if planted to win. There is hostage rescue (cs_) where terrorists must hold hostages for a period of time and CTs must get the hostages and bring them to the rescue point, and, there is Assination (as_), where the terrorists must assassinate a VIP which is being escorted by the CTs to one of the two escape points. In all situations, eliminating the whole team will win the game, unless it's in a defuse situation and the bomb has been planted, the CTs must defuse it in time or the terrorists win.
You fight out with realistic weapons with highly detailed models such as the MP5, M4A1 Carbine, AK-47, a SEAL knife, 3 types of grenades, or a Glock 18. You get money to buy better weapons by killing enemies or completing certain tasks. You are able to hold only one primary, one secondary, one knife, and 4 grenades (with their own limits to certain types). You can also buy armor, defuse kits, or nightvision goggles.
Also, no more respawining in this game. Nope, you get killed, you go into "ghost" mode for the rest of the round, and must wait until a team wins until you play again in the next round. Take note that you can't withstand 50+ bullets, or pick up med kits. Nope, takes about 4-6 shots to die, and a headshot kills instantly.
Also, teamplay plays a big role in here. Run around like a wacko in Quake, you most certainly die. You can't run 50MPH like in most shooters, and a lot of times using stealth and taking cover plays a major role in succeeding. Also, using a handy radio very similar to that of Tribes will allow you to communicate with your teammates and give them orders, such as "Cover Me." or "Go! Go! Go!".
Well, the latest version is 7.1 Beta, the last beta probably. Go download this incredible mod, you will not regret it.

Tritton AX Pro Dolby Digital Precision Gaming Headset Review

Tritton AX Pro Dolby Digital Precision Gaming Headset
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
There were two main reasons why I wanted to pick up this headset: The first was so I would not disturb others in my household who are not gaming insomniacs like myself and the other was to get an advantage over friends and foes so I can hear where they are coming from and where they are going. The Tritton AxPro satisfies both needs perfectly.

I am currently using the headset to play the game Left 4 Dead on my Xbox 360.The difference in sound quality from my TV speakers (nothing shabby mind you) and this headset is astounding.I can hear the little audio details I otherwise would have missed and the louder effects such as a shot gun firing booms into my ears and rattles down my spine. Most importantly I can hear where someone, or some thing, is.I can hear that hunter zombie growling and scratching off to the left or right in some unseen location just waiting to pounce. When he does pounce his wailing screech makes me want to do one of my own, it freaks me out.I can hear the obese Boomer zombie up ahead belching and waddling getting ready to spew his bile all over me, bile which serves as nectar for the lesser zombies who will feed on me if I am covered in it.I can hear the Smoker zombie shuffling along somewhere behind me, coughing and hacking, just waiting to snag a straggler and drag him off to do bad things to him. This head set has intensified my gaming experience tremendously. My only complaint with the audio, which shouldn't come as a surprise, is that I can't hear if someone is directly behind me.This would be hard for a head set to do and it does do a good job at least of suggesting that a creature might be behind me.

Aside from in game audio such as music and sound effects and environmental sounds I also wanted to make sure this headset served as a good Xbox Live communicator. It does.I can easily adjust the volume the voices of those talking or mute them with the controls on the same volume box that the buttons and dials for the other audio (front, rear, center, sub speakers) is on.Some have complained about not being able to hear their own voice while speaking (like you do when talking on a telephone) but I personally don't care about this.I rather focus on what others are saying and the ambient sounds of the game world than hear myself.I have talked to plenty of people and nobody has accsued me of sounding like a mumbling drunk or anything. Not yet anyway. The minor complaint I have with the speaking aspect is that sometimes I get a buzzing sound through my mic and must fiddle with the plug on the volume control box quickly to get it fixed. It is a bit of a nuisance but it could have something to do with the fact that I haven't really found a good place to rest the volume control box yet.I could clip it to my shirt, it is small and sleek, but I end up resting it on my lap where it gets knocked around now and then.I'll work on its placement later, but that buzzing is a nuisance when it happens.

The set up was relatively simple and painless. The only problem I had here was getting the mic to work at first. You really have to jam that sucker into its jack on the headset or else it won't recognize it is plugged in.Make sure the frame is lined up properly with the indentations on the jack and push, push, push like you're in labor. Then turn the mic slightly so it is in there good.I ended up calling their customer support thinking I was doing something wrong (I shouldn't be so hard on myself) and they were very nice and sent me a new mic out in the mail, no hassle.I ended up getting my mic to work a few minutes after that call, but hey, an extra mic couldn't hurt?Other than the wrestling with the mic, the rest of the set up went pretty smooth. There are a number of wires and parts though.first there is the headset itself which is sleek, stylish and of a tough build quality. It feels well made and I love it for that. Then there is the power box which is a small box with power buttons on it that everything plugs into. Then you have the volume control box which is pretty small and controls the headset speaker and voice volume. There are also, count it, TWO AC adapters you need to plug in.Make sure you have enough outlets or a powerstrip nearby.Get rid of that night light, you're too old for it anyway.Getting everything set up is quick and straightforward.

The headset itself is well made and comfortable. As mentioned earlier, it is of a good build quality.Put it on your head and the ear muffs cover your entire ear.At least they did on my average sized 28 year old male head.I don't know how ear sizes go but look at it this way, Barack Obama has a pretty big pair that stick out from his head; he would have no problem shoving those aerials into these ear muffs comfortably. The headset is adjustable as well. The muffs or ear covers come with a soft fabric covering as well as a padded leather covering in a separate box if you prefer the leather.Normally I like leather, just not near my ears. One time in college I drank too much and passed out on someones leather couch, when I woke up later that hot morning, my ear was stuck to the leather.I now keep my ears away from leather. The fabric is quite comfortable and though the headset seems a little on the heavy side (just work out those neck muscles) it has no effect on your gaming at all.My head, ears and neck felt great after a 7 hour marathon session of Zombie hunting. The rest of me however did not, which reminds me, I need a gaming chair or something to lean back in.

I highly recommend this headset. It does its job well and better than many sets which retail for hundreds of dollars more. The main competitor of the Trittons are the Turtlebeach headsets.Turtlebeach does not have true 5.1 Dolby Digital but a replicated version. The knock off is not as good as the real thing. Many people like Turtlebeach because they are wireless but I prefer wired because the sound is always better and I don't have to worry about batteries (just where I'm going to plug those two AC Adapters in). Also, Tritton has a cool name, it sounds like "Triton", the name of the cool blue moon of the cool blue planet Neptune. There are volcanoes on Triton which spew crystalized no2, a very nice sight to think about.Turtlebeach on the other hand makes me think about a beach covered with snapping turtles. Not something nice to think about.

I vouch for these Trittons, they are wonderful.Never underestimate the importance of sound in your games, it can add much to your gaming experience. This headset will not only provide you with exceptional quality but the surround sound will give you an advantage when playing with and against friends, and won't wake up the wife/hubby, dog, neigbors or dead when you crank it up.EDIT:November 7th, 2010; I just wanted to add that this set is still working great and still one of the best headsets on the market.Sounds is as crisp as ever for both voice chat and in game effects, music is crystal clear now that I tried out my CD collection and the build quality has proven itself to be rock solid.Needless to say, I love this head set.

I also wanted to correct myself on something I wrote previously in the review about not being able to hear someone directly behind me, after some tinkering with the individual speaker volume, I got it to the perfect setting where I actually can hear footsteps or breathing right behind me; this is true surround sound in every sense.

My review centered around Left 4 Dead but I have since used these with Left 4 Dead 2, Metro 2033, Dead Space, Battlefield: Bad Company 2, Mass Effect 2 and now Halo: Reach (just to name a few).If you want to increase the experience in atmosphere heavy games like Dead Space or Metro 2033 or if you want the edge in competitive multiplayer like in Halo: Reach, pick these up as they are worth every penny!

Soul Calibur Review

Soul Calibur
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Wow.I pride myself on my vocabulary skills but this is the only one-word definition I could come up with for this game.Soul Calibur is the best fighting game ever made...hands down.It also ranks in my top five favorite video games of all time, which is saying a lot because I've played hundreds of games. Now that I've said that, I can get down to the big question:why should you spend your hard earned cash on this game?I'll tell you why...
Graphically, Soul Calibur has some of the best visuals on any system, including PS2.The first time I saw this game in action I was amazed.I've simply never played a game that looks this good. The character animation is incredibly lifelike, both during fighting and in the pre-rendered opening and victory scenes. The backgrounds are very realistic and add to the overall atmosphere of the game.
The music is well done and the sound effects are tremendous. The sounds of blade hitting blade, blade hitting air, and blade hitting flesh are dead-on accurate.I mean I've never actually heard somebody being hacked into with a broadsword in real life, but I'm willing to bet that it would sound pretty close to the sound you hear in Soul Calibur.Other impressive sound effects are the character voices both during and between battles. From the grunts and roars of the hulking Astoroth to the Bruce Lee-esque high-pitched hooting and hollering of the nunchaku-swinging Maxi, these characters come to life.
Control is extremely tight and responsive.Which makes it a lot easier to learn new moves.Every move in the game is easily accessible through the in-fight move menu.Just push pause during a battle and the entire arsenal of moves for your character is available for the taking. The characters are also very well balanced each with their own strengths and weaknesses.
There are 19 characters in all, although nine of them must be unlocked through beating the game in arcade and mission modes. It's through all of the unlocking hidden characters, levels, costumes, options, art cards, game modes, etc., that the game shows its true depth. Each character has his/her own unique weapons and fighting styles. Each character also has hundreds (yes, hundreds) of attacks, combos, and special moves to keep you coming back for more.
As if you needed any more reason to pick this game up, I will mention that the menu system is very streamlined and straight-forward, the two-player mode is a blast, the art gallery is surprisingly well done, the story lines are more than adequately interesting, and at the recently discounted price you'd have to be crazy to pass this one up...Wow.

Street Fighter II Turbo: Hyper Fighting Review

Street Fighter II Turbo: Hyper Fighting

Street Fighter 2 was the first fighting game I owned on my SNES and is still one of my favorites.I skipped Champion Edition but when Turbo came out (the one with E Honda fighting Sagat on the cover) I knew it was good enough to buy again. This version features all the original 8 characters plus the 4 bosses, and the ability to fight with each character against himself, but does not include the 4 "new fighters" who are mostly cheap or ... (I really hate T Hawk). This is in my opinion the superior version of Street Fighter 2 on the best system. It seems like the SNES controller was made for this game, and the action so so smooth and beautiful.I had some fun playing this game against the computer but it really shines in versus mode.I cant tell you how many hours my brothers and I played this game but it became as much of a male bonding activity for us as anything.I think i still remember the code to jack up the turbo from the usual 3 stars to 10 (the matches are over in a matter of seconds) up down left right L Y R B or something like that.Man i really want to play this game again, hopefully my copy will arrive soon.It really is the most balanced and accurate fighting game of all time....Hadoken

I paid $50 for C&C Generals a few years ago. I ended up giving a copy of it to a friend when I bought this set. The price is right and every single on of these games are absolutely some of the best games I have ever played. Not having to pay the premium of the newest, you save so much money, it's crazy not to buy them this way when possible.

Product Description:
In 1996 an arcade legend was born with the release of Metal Slug: Super Vehicle 001. The military-style themes, and a side-scrolling platform mixed with a wacky sense of humor and hilarious cartoon style, proved extremely popular to a decidedly wide audience. Based on this success, seven more Metal Slug sequels would be developed and released. Ten years later, The Metal Slug game play and popularity are still going strong. To celebrate, the creators of the Metal Slug Anthology stopped at nothing to provide a 2D, side scrolling compilation for the PSP that is perfectly compatible with all the great game play possibilities that the PSP has to offer.

Prey Review

I haven't played an FPS in a while and when I had some free time I downloaded the trial and what sold me was the multiplayer which you can play for free. The demo had 2 MP maps but the full version has 12.Most of the MP maps are 5 star. The only downside is finding a multiplayer game online is discouraging but findable.Usually there are a few people playing but when there is not I join a server then in a minute or two people start joining.Makes you think people are ot playing but they will join soon.the solo mission is really good. the demo of the solo mission has a lot of cut scenes and the levels seem small but once you get past that point on the full version there are some very clever map puzzles to figure out.It could be a bit longer on the SP.
