(More customer reviews)let us make something clear, if you aren't going to play fighting games, you should not buy this stick. i tried it on pacman championship edition and pacman was acting like a drunk. It works just fine for DoA4, Virtua Fighter 5, and Street Fighter, but don't even think about trying anything else with it. The one thing that it does have going for it is the fact that it is the only fighting stick on the 360, unless you want to cough up a couple of hundred dollars for one with a picture of kokoro on it. And there is one other matter that needs to be considered. it clicks. the stick itself clicks like a card trapped in some bicycle spokes. Some people love it, some people end up in padded cells because of it. A good indicator of how you would react is how you feel about the strum bar on the guitar hero controllers. Finally, if you have been playing fighting games with a controller for some time, prepare to be practicing for some time in order to be competent. it is worth it in the end, your skills will improve, eventually. all in all a good product.

Dead or Alive Paradise Review

(More customer reviews)I purchased Dead Or Alive Paradise because I had enjoyed the original Dead or Alive Xtreme Beach Volleyball on the first XBox.It was a completely unique game with its hybrid sport/simulator playstyle.Giving gifts?Collecting items?A pool-hopping game?Very odd indeed the first time I played it.However, it was nicely executed and I'm sure many enjoyed playing it as I have.

I will not comment on DOAX 2 since I don't have an XBOX360, but I was not compelled to play it from its reviews anyways.

As for DOA Paradise, I have to say it is a decent port of what I fondly remember from the original DOAX.From my own personal opinion, here is what I believe are its Pros and Cons:

Pros:
- The volleyball aspect is fair in execution.It isn't as responsive as the original DOAX, but I don't have trouble doing spikes, passes, setups, or blocks.
- I'd rate the graphics good for a PSP port.The girls look similar to how they did on the original DOAX.
- There is a radio station, so you can set your own MP3s to either play in daytime or nighttime.
- Zack dollars is easier to make in this game.For example, a good spike in the original DOAX would yield you Z2,000.In Paradise, you get Z5,000.
- The girls accept gifts more readily and don't reject so quickly.

Cons:
- It is a small PSP screen, so it wasn't uncommon for me to miss where the volleyball went sometimes.
- There are loading times involved when changing scenarios or loading a shop.
- There can be some lag during volleyball gameplay.Not enough to mess up what I am trying to do next, but noticeable.
- There are far less swimsuits/items then in the original DOAX.I'd surmise that maybe only 1/3 is in Paradise.
- I've yet to see a Beretta or sub-machine gun for purchase; that was such a good gift for Christie.
- The chest physics on the girls is unnatural and rather obnoxious to be honest.

DOA Paradise is a guilty pleasure.I'd recommend this game to anyone interested, to buy it and play it.

(More customer reviews)The newest installment in Team Ninja's fighting game series, Dead or Alive 4 has met all it's expectations.Every fighting game series on the market today has their respective strong points, DOA always being the amazing graphic edge, but more than anything on this newest edition, tecmo has slightly revamped the fighing techniques making DOA4 the most balanced game in it's genre.

Single player lacks an easy mode, so for the casual gamer, it might be somewhat of a challenge.But because of this factor, it helps develop the mechanical skills used in the game.Some veterans might find some slight difficulty at first, but should get the hang of things after a few goes.Definately not a "button mash" game.This aspect I gladly invite.I think that usually easy modes lack any challenge, if anything the only positive aspect of the mode is to learn move sets and combos, which can easily be learned in the Sparring mode.With unlockable costumes, characters, and other achievements, the single player mode will likely keep your interest.

The online mode has it's kinks, but for the most part is very good.I really like the lobbies and the avatars to install goals within the online game.Rankings and scores also helps keep a competative nature.Within the mode you can set-up tournaments, private matches, and many other fighting settings.Their has been a few glitches and every once and awhile some lag.The glitches I'm sure will be fixed as they are found and the lag in a lobby has more to do with a bad connection as opposed to bad service.

If you are into fighting games and want a challenge both offline and online, Dead or Alive 4 is a must have if you have a xbox360.

King of Fighters 98: Ultimate Match Review

(More customer reviews)1998: SNK releases King of Fighters 98: The Slugfest for the Neo*Geo. The 5th game in the series & has been a fan favorite since.

2008: SNK Playmore (successor company to SNK) releases King of Fighters 98: The Ultimate Match for the Taito Type X (arcade hardware). A PS2 version was released months later in Japan.

And now it's finally released in North America. So what's the different between this & the original game (which is in here as well)? They are:

9 new fighters that wasn't in the original game (the KoF 96 boss team, Kasumi, Eiji, Goenitz, Orochi, as well as Iori & Leona in their Riot of the Blood form), meaning that every fighter that appeared in 94 & throughout the Orochi Saga (95-97) are here. There are also new extra versions of King, Blue Mary, Geese, and Ryuji Yamazaki. King is based on her Art of Fighting 2 counterpart while the rest are hybrids of their appearances throughout the Real Bout Fatal Fury series. The returning fighters have been tweaked to give the game more balance with some given new moves.

In terms of game play, Extra & Advance Mode have also been mortified. The former's POW meter has been shorten (but it won't get any shorter when you lose a fighter unlike in the original game.) & it fills up quicker. There's also a new mode: Ultimate Mode which allows you to customize features from both Extra & Advance modes. Also unlike in the original game, any owned stock will be transferred to the next fighter. A big plus as you no longer have to worry about losing some & all your stock when you get K.O.ed.

Also, Omega Rugal's not the only final boss you can go up against. Depending on how well you play, you can also go up against Goenitz (& going up against the KoF 96 Boss Team prior) or Orochi (& fighting the Orochi Team prior).

The PS2 version has lots of choices for the solo gamer (it's still best to play with a friend) from Endless Survival, & Challenge Mode (with 30 different challenges). As previouslymentioned, the original King of Fighters 98's in here as well, which I think is based on the AES versionas there`s a vs. mode, survivor mode & you could even play as Omega Rugal too! Also there's no real loading & it lacks the audio miscues that exists in the PS2 Orochi Collection version.

I only have two issues with this game. One is the graphics. While the stages are very nice (& there's more of them here than in the original game & you can set them up in 2D or 3D), the sprites look like they haven't been mortified in years, if not over a decade. Nonetheless, this ain't Capcom Fighting Evolution! The other issue is the fact that there are no real endings. Even the intro to Omega Rugal & his ending scene when you beat him in the original game are omitted here.

Despite this, the Ultimate Match takes the original King of Fighters 98 game & makes it even better. In reality, it also makes the recently released King of Fighters Collection- The Orochi Saga somewhat obsolete as you'll getting the best elements of the first 4 games rolled up into this one. Plus, at $20, this is a steal. Add in unlockablies like hidden fighters, artwork, & game play video & you got a game that's a must for fans of the series, or 2-D fighters in general. With this out, & Samurai Shodown Anthologycoming out soon, how about bringing the recently released-in Japan, King of Fighters 2002: Unlimited Match to North America?

In addition to the game, you'll be getting a poster & a bonus CD. It's a data disc, so you'll need a PC to access it. It has wallpapers & a couple of trailers for this game & the upcoming King of Fighters XII.

+ Graphics are 8/10 - good character models and realistic looking sand.Some courtside backgrounds are a little goofy.

Cons
- Repetitive soundtrack and commentary
- Long load times between screens (as long as 30 seconds)
- No way to advance the skills of characters
- Could be a repeat game for Xbox DOA players(since I don't have Xbox, I can't say)
- No create-a-player option
- No create-a-court option
- Beach House gets tiresome after initial tour - should allow a text shortcut to the extras and trophies
Overall, I enjoy playing the game. It's pretty satisfying to spike the ball into the corner - even better when you execute a clean block for the point.Definitely worth it. If you doubt it, rent first.
