Make no mistake: this game is HARD.Not at first, though. It eases you into it, making you think it's gonna be a breeze, but then they ramp up the difficulty and 'splode timing. If you like old school platforming games, this one is not to be missed. The only difference here is the frustration factor present in most of the older games is missing here.It is just pure fun.40% platformer, 40% puzzle game, 20% time trial racer = 100% awesome.

Kid Chameleon Review

Kid Chameleon

Some video games have ninjas, other games have knights in shiney armor, and others have guys riding around on hover-boards.Kid Chameleon has all three; as well as a fly, a tornado maker, a ray-gun enthusiast, a rhino, and probably some other things I'm forgetting. The levels are seemingly never-ending and the graphings are good becasue, well, they are like nothing else...as is this game. This game was great, I remember not giving a care about whether I beat it or not, because I had so much fun playing it. The Kid traveled in between layers that seemed to never end. One second you'd be in a metropolis city, the next you'd be on an island paradise, seconds later you'd be warped to the depths of hell.Kid Chameleon is a fine game indeed. It has what many of the modern games lack -- genuine imagination.Kid Chameleon was and is to this day a gem. Quite possibly the finest game ever made.

Jersey Devil Review

Jersey Devil

Jersey Devil is original, addictive, and keeps you guessing with a constant shift in strategy and focus, from fighting enemies to solving riddles and mazes, to testing your dexterity and reflexes in very difficultmoving obstacle courses.
And as a treat, occasionally you get somehigh-speed snowboarding or skateboarding action that will leave your headspinning.
As for control, I never had any problem mastering thejump-tailspin combo with my simple analog controller, and the difficultmoves only require practice to do well.
The music was great, to thepoint that I wish I could get a soundtrack. This game kept me busyintermittently for over 6 months of play, and there are still secret levelsI want to go back and play.
Lastly, the images and scenery were likesomething out of the collective unconscious. The first time I saw theturnip-head guy, I swore I had met him somewhere in real life.
I reallyhope there will be a JD2, and he'd make a great Halloween constume, too!

Psychonauts Review

*NOTE: I have the Xbox version of this game but wanted to take the time to help people decide if they want to purchase this game or not. From what I've read, they managed to keep the game about equal to the Xbox version so my review should be pretty accurate. The only differences will be that the Xbox has 5.1 surround in game not just cutscenes and the graphics will probably be a bit better. If you own an Xbox I would recommend that version over the PS2 but honestly the game is great, and if you own a PS2 I would doubly recommend picking this up.On to my review:

Everytime Tim Schafer creates a game, I know it will be a blast. Having been on a roll starting with The Day of the Tentacle up through The Grim Fandango, each game has been delightfully intelligent, creative and an overall wonderful experience. Psychonauts is no different. In fact, it is one of the best games I have played not only this year but in a long time.

The setup is that there is a camp for psychic children who feel different in the outside world. At the camp, the counselors teach children how to harness their power to become Psychonauts, psychics who actually enter people's minds and sort out their problems. Because of this setup, each and every world is completely different from the others. Connected to a hub world of the camp, each real "level" is a person's mind. And each mind reflects the person's personality, fears, phobias etc. For instance, the beginning level is that of your drill instructor. His level is a warzone complete with mines, air plane drops, explosions, barbed wire etc.

Tim Schafer's touch is also evident in the characters who are actually characters. They all have a personality and are very emotive. I haven't laughed at a video game so hard since Conker's Bad Fur Day. This game is hillarious. From the kid who practices looking through a peep hole in the day to get practice for when it's filled with girls to trashing a town Godzilla style, the game has it in spades. However, there are some surprisingly disturbing moments in the game that are also darkly humorous. Because you have psychic powers, you also can do some pretty cool stuff from pyrokinesis, telekinesis, levitation, invisibility, etc. These moves help you progress through the levels and pick up hidden items throughout the game.

Graphically, the game is awesome on the Xbox. The levels are done in vivid colors and with a wonderful cartoon style. The campground seems alive as there are creatures walking your path. From squirrels, crows, pigeons, lizards, bears, etc, the world seems populated and just feels real. You can tell a lot of time and effort was put in to make this game come alive and it works. The game is presented in 480p, for those interested.

Aurally, the characters are voiced to perfection. Some great voice actors have been employed and it really helps create characters that are lovable. The biggest audio glitch I've noticed is that sometimes my speakers will "click" as voices come in or as the sound changes sometimes. For some reason, the sound gets funkier as the game progresses. By the last level, it was as if every time a new sound was introduced or the sound changed, the game would stutter. Definitely some bugs that could have been worked out before the game was released. But, honestly, these aren't game stopping problems and are only vaguely annoying considering how awesome the game is. The game is also presented in 5.1 surround in game.

Since the game is a platformer, all of the standards apply. In the real world and in each person's mind, there are a ton of things to collect. In the real world, there are arrowheads that can be pulled from the ground that represent cash. There is a scavenger hunt also going on that will earn you rank (which gives you new powers) and there are cards that can be formed as more rank. In each person's mind, there are also different things to collect such as emotional baggage, mental cobwebs, figments of the imagination and safes which you much punch open to reveal some of the person's past. Some of these slide shows are funny and some are actually kind of sad as you see how these people came to be who they are. I list these items to collect just as a note that the game definitely exhibits all of the charms of a platformer. But there actually is a reason to collecting everything and they fit together in this humorous world.

The game moves quickly and besides one or two intstances of panning that had the game do a wave type pattern, it is perfect. My recommendation if you play the game is to take your time talking to everyone. It helps flesh out the story and if you listen and keep making rounds after each world you will see minor breakups, makeups, humorous instances involving squirrels who tell one kid to kill everyone, and plain funny dialogue. Take your time with this one and you will definitely be rewarded.

This game is great, it's just what I was looking for. It helped remind me why I play video games. When a person can create such wonderful worlds and allow you to play in them, you realize why you play games. It is so creative. Where else can you be chased by a giant fish, rage across town as a Godzilla-like creature, be in a disco world where you must race, pin-ball style, wage war against a Napolean complex and set fire to squirrels? If you want a creative and fun video game that will take approximately 10-15 hours of your time, then this is definitely a must buy. I absolutely cannot recommend this game enough. And unfortunately, it's one of those games that will end up like Ico or Beyond Good and Evil where no one hears of it and no one plays it. Don't let that happen. Play this game because its games like this that the industry needs to keep creating.

A must buy. Creative and excellent.

Ape Escape Review

Ape Escape

While I regard the Crash Bandicoot series the premiere platformers for the Playstation, I was pleasantly surprised with Ape Escape. Hunting down monkeys is such a hilarious concept it makes we wonder why nobody thoughtof it before. Overall, I found the game to be very well-designed, fun, andaddictive. The graphics, while not as pretty as Crash Bandicoot or Spyro, grow on you after a short amount of time. The developers made optimal useof the Dual Shock controller, more so than any other company. Control isperfect. I also found that, compared to many other 3D games, the in-gamecamera caused me very few problems. To make it easier for younger players, the game levels are littered with helpful hints. While not a huge game--itcan be finished in about a week--the three mini-games that are eventuallyopened up are a ton of fun and add longevity to the title. What I foundmost amazing is that each of the game's 204 monkeys has a unique name andpersonality. A tremendous amount of creative energy went into this title. You want to complete 100% of the game just to see every square inch of eachlevel. If I can find any fault with the game at all, it's that you mustcomplete the levels in a linear fashion. Other than that, it's an unusualand highly enjoyable platformer. Highly recommended.

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Review

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
All told, the original Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers game for the SNES is not as good as some, better than others.Bandai released four Power Rangers titles for the system, and of those four, the best has to be Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers: The Movie, followed by Power Rangers Zeo: Battle Racers (known on Amazon.com as merely Power Ranger Racers). The original MMPR title, the one you're reading about here, falls below the level of those two, but still manages to stand above the fourth game, Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers: The Fighting Edition.
This is basically your standard side-scrolling beat-em-up, only without the ability to move "up and down" on the screen as you could in games like Ninja Turtles IV: Turtles in Time or Batman Returns.Your character, one of the original five rangers (Jason, Kimberly, Zach, Billy and Trini) runs to the right, punching and kicking putties until he/she encounters the boss of the level. At that point, you morph into a Power Ranger and the boss vanishes from sight (without so much as a fight) and you continue to work your way through the next two-thirds of the level, this time armed with your specific power ranger weapon.
Sometimes you'll encounter a unique situation; level three places you in the sewers and storm drains of Angel Grove, forcing you to swim and crawl your way out.The second level drops you in a factory and makes you contend with machines and debris as you climb up a series of girders. But for the most part, you're just going to be running to the right and beating the heck out of putties.
Control is tight, the graphics are nice, and the music is... adequate. At least the sound effects are good. The only problem is that it's just not as fun as it should be - it's kind of repetitive.Okay, it's very repetitive.A greater variety of attacks would be nice, but you can only jump and attack, duck and attack, or stand and attack.Yes, you can throw your enemies, but that's as close as you get to anything different than just hitting the Y button hard and fast.A two-player option would've been a godsend... unfortunately, this is a one-player game, so you're going to have to go it alone. For the sake of some variety, at least you get to choose a new ranger for each level and partake of two Megazord fights towards the end of the game.
Ultimately, it's too repetitive and a little too easy to be great, especially with the password system allowing you continue from the level where you left off at any time. But serious fans of the original team will probably find a lot to like, because it's still an above-average action side-scroller.If you own an SNES and you love the Rangers, though, you could certainly do better; why not pick up Battle Racers or, better yet, The Movie instead?

Mega Man Zero 3 Review

Mega Man Zero 3
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The Mega Man Zero series came to the GBA and came off as unique. It repeated a lot of the themes that made the original Mega Man X series on the Super Nintendo good.Mega Man Zero 3 could very well be the best of the Mega Man Zero series thus far.

Mega Man Zero 3 has several elements that more than outshine Mega Man Zero 2.The game doesn't just rehash elements it expands upon them and makes the game a more unique experience than the other Mega Man Zero games have been.

The basic gameplay of Mega Man Zero is unchanged.Zero has the same moves he had in the previous Mega Man Zero games. He can jump, dash, climb walls and has a large arsenal of weapons (most of which are repeated from Mega Man Zero 2).

But as I said, Zero 3 expands on what Mega Man Zero 2 presented.Zero has four weapons he can use.The Z-Saber, The Buster, the Shield Boomerang and the new recoil rod which Zero can bounce on and pummel enemies with.Zero can also level up his weapons by killing more and more enemies.

The game also adds on other twist with the gameplay. The first couple of bosses you defeat give you different suit upgrades of fire, ice and lightning. There's more to it than just having the suit. Many bosses are weak vs. one element over another. Also, after each level Zero is given a ranking. This ranking can determine whether he can perorm a new combo for certain weapons or whether he gains an EX skill or not.

The Cyber-Elf system, which was first introduced in Mega Man Zero has come to be more developed.Throughout each level Zero can collect and use Cyber-Elves. Cyber-Elves are also broken down into groups. There are the hacker elves that change data, nurse elves that heal Zero and improve his vitality and animal elves that enhance Zero's abilities.

In previous Mega Man Zero games once you used a Cyber-Elf it was gone forever, regardless of what it did. Also, when using a Cyber-Elf your rank was penalized for it.In Mega Man Zero 3 there are now two different groups of Cyber-Elves.There are now "Satelite" elves and "Fusion" elves."Satelite" elves can be used over and over again and don't count against your overall score."Fusion" elves disappear after each use and do count against your score.Zero can equip up to two satelite elves at a time and change them at any time during any level. I personally thought this made Mega Man Zero 3 a tad bit easier than Zero 2.

Mega Man Zero 3 also has several different "chips" that Zero can use to enhance his abilities. From chips that make him run faster to some that allow him to double jump. Each "chip" you find can be used in either his leg, body, arm or helmet. The possibilities to the gameplay are endless.

The levels are fascinating and fun. They're not too long but not too short. The levels are also populated with challanges and interesting enemies. Bosses are also very big and present a challenge.

Graphic wise, Mega Man Zero 3 doesn't look any different than Mega Man Zero 2.Most of the graphics are rehashed from Mega Man Zero 2.This isn't a bad thing as it still looks nice... just don't expect it to look as good as say... "Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow".

The music in Mega Man Zero 3 is also good.A few remixed tracks from the first two Mega Man Zero games and some really good sound effects.Every now and then Zero grunts or something but it isn't as annoying as the Mario Advance games. Most of the music is action based and presents itself rather well.

There are also lots of bonuses in Mega Man Zero 3.If you have a copy of Mega Man Battle Network 4, you can link up and Zero can get more chips, Cyber elves and EX skills. There's are also mini-games and difficulty level enhancements.Since the game also presents good replay value, it doesn't hurt to try these extra difficulty levels and challenge yourself.

The game isn't as difficult as Mega Man Zero 2.There are moments where you might feel frustrated but the difficulty is pretty evenly balanced out to the point where you'll come to surprises but once you learn the layout of a level and know what to expect, you can exploit it.If you want a REAL challange in any Mega Man Zero game, then do it without the aid of any cyber-elves.Since Mega Man Zero 3 is more open-ended than Mega Man Zero 2, it allows you to tweak more with the difficulty level to the point where even "Hard Mode" can turn out to be easy.

Perhaps the biggest problem with the game is that it really is too short. You can finish the game in just under five hours. But it has replay value and mini-games to better make up for it.

Overall, Mega Man Zero 3 is probably the best one in the series so far. It's a lot more detailed and open-ended and while it has its frustrations it isn't the worst of the GBA.This is one of the BEST of GBA.

Ultimate Ghost 'N Goblins Review

Ultimate Ghost 'N Goblins
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
In the 1980s, when human minds are less sophisticated, many video game concepts were centred on the theme of "rescuing the princess, saving the world". Ultimate Ghosts `n Goblins utilizes the same concept, and it's hardly surprisingly - it's a modern take on the original Ghost `n Goblins from 1986. In this 21st century rendition of this classic game, Knight Arthur returns (with his armor and, ahem, underwear) to save Princess Prin from the undead, again. To make the adventure more up-to-date, however, Capcom have added several new features to it. These include the introduction of 3D graphics, and new in-game tools and techniques that allow Arthur to defeat the enemies that stand in his way.

Apart from his usual repertoire of skills, Arthur has a number of new moves up his sleeves. One of them is the ability to dash, executed when you double tap left or right quickly. This is helpful when you need to clear an area fast, but it usually ends up badly due to the large number of enemies that appear on screen. Arthur also has the aptitude to grab, which makes platforming a little easier, since he can now hang on the edge of a platform without falling to his death after a missed jump. Shields are also introduced into the gameplay, which allow Arthur to repel attacks by simply pressing the down button on the D-Pad.

Despite the new abilities, however, Ultimate Ghosts `n Goblins remains insanely challenging even when played on the easiest of its three difficulty levels. To put it simply, the game is hard. Enemies will attack you in quick succession. They will also re-spawn regularly, leaving you with hardly any room to breathe. Even the platforming is tricky, and it regularly requires you to take a leap of faith, which tends to result in a fall to death. Don't be surprised if you find yourself doing a level over and over again until you get it right. This isn't necessary a bad thing, but it may discourage the less patient gamers.

To make life a little better, the game throws in some much needed aid. During the game, you'll find treasure chests, which usually house weapons and magical skills. As expected, different weapons produce different effects and range. For example, the lance (a default weapon) attacks reasonably quickly, but flies only in a straight line. The Boomerang Scythe (a new addition, by the way), on the other hand, flies a little slower, but has the ability to return to Arthur, thus clearing enemies that are closing in. Magical skills are more sophisticated to use, as they require Arthur to be equipped with armor, as well as to have enough MP. They're, however, much more powerful in dealing with the undead. The Time Magic, for example, slows time for everyone except Arthur. The Invincible Magic wraps a force field around Arthur, rendering any enemy's attacks on him useless for a limited period. These abilities only reduce the difficulty level slightly though, since you won't be getting powered-up all the time. You'll still have to be on your toes regularly to deal with the game's deliberately high demands.

The high level of difficultly wouldn't be the only challenge you'd face when playing Ultimate Ghosts `n Goblins. Unlike many other games, the game actually forces you to be a completist. Throughout the game, you may encounter some hard-to-find golden rings. You may think that the collection of these rings is an optional side quest (think the Mario Bros.'s gold coins) that won't impact the grand scheme of things. Well, you couldn't be more wrong. The locations of these rings are usually fairly well hidden, and you'd probably not notice them when you're just running for your life in most of the levels. You can run for all you want though, but when you reach the end of 5th level, you'll find that you won't be able to proceed to the game's final level without a prerequisite number of golden rings. This is where the warp portals come in - they'll allow you to return to earlier levels to relive the nightmare. This time, however, the nightmare will be scarier, because apart from running for your life, you'll have to hunt for those damn rings as well. But wait, it's not over yet. Collecting a different required number of rings will also unlock different endings (three in all) for the game. Again, this could be a welcomed challenge for the more daring, but an absolute whammy for the uninitiated.

Ultimate Ghosts `n Goblins is essentially still a 2D platformer, but the 3D elements add depth to the already nice graphics. They may look less polished when compared to the more flashy presentations on other PSP games, but the unique art style and level of details still look great nonetheless, even by today's standards. The soundtrack, though remixed, also brings back some fond (and some not so fond) memories of myself huffing and puffing through a level of Makaimura (the Japanese version of the original Ghosts n' Goblins) back in those days. The sound effects, however, are a little weak, and could do with a little more variety. Not that I really mind though, because the music is good enough to keep me contented. The game also comes with in an old-school D-pad (attachable to the PSP's analog button) for those who wants to relive the experience of playing the game on the NES controller. This is a really nice touch that adds some nostalgic value to the overall package.

In conclusion, Ultimate Ghosts `n Goblins may or may not be your cup of tea, depending on whether you're in for a challenge. Some aspects of it are frustrating, and it's certainly not an easy one to complete. But in an era when games are perhaps giving too much leeway to the gamer, it's a game like this that really dishes out a nice challenge to those who're in need of one. Ultimate Ghosts `n Goblins is a testament of how solid, challenging gameplay is all about, and I'd recommend it to anyone who's yearning for a good title on the PSP.

Whiplash Review

Whiplash
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
First of all, this is a completeley original game. Don't be fooled by it's dark and deranged outer shell, because Whiplash is a fun and inovative platforming/action game. The story goes like this. There is a evil, huge mega corporation that use animals to test new human products. It just so happens that Spanxs the weasel,( who was experimented on with electricity, ) and Redford the rabbit ( who was experimented on with beauty products, ) are chained together and are about to become fused together for the rest of thier lives. Yet they escape the grap of the scientists, and must elude capture at all costs, as well as freeall of the other test animals. The only catch? They're chained together.
It does sound wierd, but it is completley addictive and fun. You use Redford, who is indestructable because of a hairspray test that gave him an impeneterable shield, as a whip and can give him many funny and useful powerups. These include on that inflates, another that lets him electrify gaurds and other enimies, plus at least a dozen more. Or you can simply whip him about. The graphics, while not the best, are very unique and have a griddy/saturday morning cartoon look about them-not bad at all, and they stay at a very constant framerate. The sound is great, with a mix of bizzare sound effects and catchy music. The game is however not as long as it could have been, roughly about ten to fifteen hours depending on how good you are at it, but nevertheless, it is still well worth the forty dollars. I recommend Whiplash to everyone, so don't miss this clever and original game when it comes out the seventh!

Ratchet & Clank Going Commando Review

Ratchet & Clank Going Commando
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I'm a HUGE huge fan of Ratchet and Clank. As soon as Going Commando game out we grabbed a copy - and have been playing it non-stop ever since! Talk about a great sequel!
The plot and gameplay is similar to the first game - you're going from planet to planet, bashing things, gathering up nuts and bolts and finding some INCREDIBLY fun weapons along the way. Even better, if you still have your memory card from the first game, you get to bring in many weapons from that for free.
If you didn't play Ratchet & Clank I, I *really* recommend you get it! It should be super-cheap by now and is great fun. It's not required to understand this second game, though.
This game is almost like 20 games in one. There are pod-racing like portions where you challenge on faster and faster tracks. There are gladiator arena fighting where you test your strength and endurance. There are spaceship flying sections like Wing Commander where you fly through asteroids and around corners. There are button-combos and logic puzzles and really funny video clips.
There are the skill points that you have to guess at and then execute. Each weapon upgrades to a new super version of itself. You really feel like you're making progress as you move through the game, becoming stronger and further along in the plot. Going back to planets is great fun, too, as you find ways to use your new weapons in fun ways.
The game is also great on an entire-family sort of way. There's a lot of fun puns that will go right over the heads of the kids, but in general the game can be great fun for everyone. The kids can hand the controller to the adults if they get stuck, and the adults will have just as much fun as the kids did (and may not give the controller back for a while).
There's always something fun to do, and if you want a change from what you're doing, just hop into one of the mini-games for a whole different experience. The game can literally go on forever. Highly, highly recommended as a must-have for any PS2!

The Magical Quest starring Mickey Mouse Review

The Magical Quest starring Mickey Mouse
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The Magical Quest starring Mickey Mouse is one of the many games that Capcom made that had Disney characters during the "Nintendo vs. Sega" era.In this game, you play as Mickey as he tries to stop Pete and his evil presence.
As you progress through the game, you get access to new abilities that allow Mickey to do different things like when Mickey gets the magician's outfit, he can attack enemies with magic. The firefighter's outfit lets him spray water using a fire hose to do various things like moving blocks. The mountaineer's outfit gives Mickey access to using a grappling hook to swing off of certain objects.
In point in the game, Mickey can purchase items such as a larger capacity of magic and water or more health.
This game, however, is really short. And like most games made around this time, if you skip something, you cannot go back. There is a great plus in this game for people who want a challenge:The hardest difficulty mode is very hard!I could never get through the second level.

Mega Man X Collection Review

Mega Man X Collection
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
It is true that the X games are well-made, but I would say differently of the collection itself. There are numerous text glitches (missing and misspelled words), and several of the unlockable "extras" are things already present in the games. Also, in two of the games, not all the PS2's buttons can be assigned, making standardized play impossible.A major problem, though, is the muffled sound; somehow, the music was programmed in very quiet. If you're looking for an awesome compilation format with plenty of bells and whistles (like the Sonic Mega Collection and its "Plus" addition), look elsewhere. If you don't care about any extra stuff, then go ahead and get it.

Kirby Squeak Squad Review

Kirby Squeak Squad
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Kirby Squeak Squad DS lets you take the deliciously fun shape-shifting pink guy on a platforming trek, storing and mixing up skill sets.

I adore Kirby games, and Squeak Squad DS is no exception. You're jumping down holes, climbing up ladders, and navigating mazes of course. But the main task of Kirby-land is to figure out what items are available to eat - and then to combine together multiple items to come up with cool new techniques.

The activation sequence is a bit tricky - you have to spin your finger around the four directions of the D pad to turn things on - but it's well worth it. The cool combinations you can come up with are great fun!

You're allowed to store items in "bubbles" in Kirby's stomach, which is what the bottom half of your DS screen is dedicated to. This lets you choose what item to use in a certain situation, or to combine them together if you wish.

Even more fun, as you go you unlock color options for Kirby himself. Interested in a blue kirby, or a citrus-colored Kirby? You can do it! Of course, many traditionalists will insist that Kirby only comes in one color, that is Pepto-Bismol Pink.

The game is well done, in that it's both simple enough for younger players and entertaining enough for older players as well. It's relatively short, so that you can use it to pass the time while waiting in line at the supermarket or taking a bus ride without worrying about memorizing arcane combinations of keys or memorizing a rule book of negotiation tactics. You have just as much fun replaying it, aiming to unlock every chest you find and to get through as quickly as possible.

I admit that I still adore the days of The Crystal Shards and hope that these styles of games will come out on the Wii in the future. But for travel playing, Kirby Squeak Squad definitely fits the bill as fun, easy to learn, engaging and short enough to fit in the spaces you have available in your schedule.

Well recommended!

Kirby's back and ready for a bellyful of adventure, in Kirby Squeek Squad. When someone steals some strawberry shortcake, the pink powerhouse sets out after them, learning new skills. All the classic floating, jumping and battling of a classic Kirby game are here, but with a massive boost. You'll mix and match abilities that Kirby copies, by using the stylus to drag them together inside Kirby's belly (located on the touch screen). The powers themselves now have the ability to affect the environment, as well as foes. Burn trees and grasses with the Fire ability, freeze water with the Ice ability. In sub-game mode, this game also features multiplayer fun for up to four players, using either Multi-Card or DS Download Play over DS Local Area Network.

Klonoa Review

Klonoa
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
For those who've played the classic PS version, you know that this a great game that was one of the few that had an unusual, yet interesting, "2.5D" gameplay. For anyone who doesn't know, it's a kind of game where you can only walk left or right but you can interact with objects in the fore/background. Klonoa for the Wii is essentially Klonoa: Door to Phantomile (released in 1997 in Japan, 1998 in U.S.), Though the voice of Klonoa, the lead character, has changed from one that sounded a bit childish to one that sounds a bit more mature, other aspects of him have remained faithful to the original. Ok, now enough with the background info.

Klonoa for the Wii is an adventure/puzzle game where you literally use your enemies to progress deeper into each level by grabbing them and throwing them in different directions. Boss battles usually require you to observe what the boss does at first and look for a pattern of movement or "opening" where the boss pauses after an attack. Though this is considered a game for children by many nowadays, it garnered a huge fanbase of all ages back when it first released worldwide. The game doesn't get old as you play and the sheer variety of enemies and situations in which you can use those enemies keep things fresh. The last few levels get pretty hectic, but I won't give any spoilers (that's YouTube's job now, right?). Graphics for the game have been completely revamped from that of the slightly pixilated PS1 version to a very crisp and clean-cut version that draws a new attention to detail, enhancing the storyline and overall experience.

To finish up, Klonoa for the Wii is a great game that should belong to every Wii owner. It has a great and original fairytale storyline and gameplay never gets stale. It deserves its 5/5.

Maximo vs Army of Zin Review

Maximo vs Army of Zin
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Maximo Vs The Army of Zin is a great action packed Platformer by the great minds of Capcom. This game is very underrated and sadly it is ignored by many PS2 fans and owners(just look at the amount of reviews this game has on here). This is infact the sequal to Maximo: Ghost to Glory. Now the question is that is this game better then Maximo 1?YES.Maximo Vs Army of Zin is one those rare games when it does better then its predesssor. The game features more action packed gameplay and is just as challenging as the 1st.This time around you are able to save during game. It's still cheap though cause after you save you'll still have all the items and stuff but not the current level you were on.

As I have said before it is a shame this game is being so ignored. It's not even getting any commercials or advertisting when it first hit stores.Heck when this game first came out most gamestores I went to didn't have it but luckily Target had some copies. It's a real shame.Capcom deserves more respect for this game.Maybe it's because it's being ignored by such games like Devil May Cry, Viewtiful Joe and the Resident Evil series.

The game has a pretty neat story and it's even more cool when you get more powerups and new weapons as you advance in the game. There is a catch of course...some of the better moves you get will take some of your power gauge from you Super Meter away. The Super Meter lets you do all the cool specials and cool combos you do.It's not a hassle though cause you'll gain more power if you fight enough. The game is great in action but the lengh is pretty average you could beat it in less then 16 hours if you just try to beat it in story instead of collecting money to buy new items but it will be hard as heck if you do that.Lets get to it...

Good
-Great visuals
-very underrated Game
-lots of fast pace action
-some cool yet easy puzzles to solve
-20 great levels of pure enjoyment and entertainment
-A story..Well atleast a Story for me that I highly enjoyed...It's rare that I wanna beat a game just to see the Main character get the girl...and this is one of those games.
-Way better then the 1st Maximo

Bad
-A very ignored Ps2 game
-For some people the Puzzles can be really easy
-Some really frustraiting gameplay
-Needs a tad bit more levels
-I find it cheap that you can Save but not on the the current checkpoint..

Overall this is a great game, classic Maximo gameplay that is just as good if not BETTER then the original Maximo.Great Visuals, I really enjoyed the story and even though overall it's not a very long game it's still a great game and that is why I am giving it..

4.4 out of 5
