Mega Man X2 Review

Mega Man X2
Average Reviews:

This game is, overall, better than the previous X installment. It has a good level of challenge, although once you get the hang of it, the game becomes pretty easy. The weapons, though somewhat dull and uncreative, are still pretty fun to mess around with. For example, changing the weather using your bubble splash, speed burner, strike chain, and crystal hunter in Wire Sponge's stage, and the priceless joy of making Crystal Snail chase his shell around by using the magnet mine on him. This game has awesome replay value, not necessarily cuz of all the secrets, but just because it's so much fun! The graphics are great, not like the first one where there wasn't really definition between colors. One of the best features of the game is the music. The tunes in X were cool, but the tunes in X2 are so cool I've died trying to finger drum along with the music (especially in Flame Stag's level). The only complaint I have about the game is the slow down. I personally think slow down looks pretty neat-o, but only when it's supposed to happen! It's NOT cool, for example, when you're trying to dodge junk being thrown at you by Morph Moth's cocoon form! Fortunately, that flaw is ruled out by the game's overall well roundedness. The gameplay, music, and number of hidden gizmos to find make this game a must have for long time fans and a best buy for people who are new to the series(too bad it's so expensive!).

Mega Man ZX: Advent Review

Mega Man ZX: Advent
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This highly anticipated game will satisfy Mega Man enthusiasts, but may frustrate those who are new to the Mega Man Zero/ZX series. The factors for this are manifold:

The voice acting in the game is unrefined and it clearly shows that, because of fans railing against Capcom for the preclusion of said voice acting from the original Mega Man ZX, the pressure to get an English voice cast was just too overwhelming. The only redeeming factor in this might be that there actually is some voice acting, period.Good voice acting, though, comes with a heavy price.Grey, the fourteen year-old reploid with no past, sounds like he's well in his prime.Ashe, the fifteen year-old hunter, is reminiscent of Ashelia Dalmasca from Final Fantasy XII, except just not as appealing as Kari Wahlgren's voice role.Characters that might not sound as bad include Aeolus and Vent, who have edifying things to say and don't sound nearly as annoying as Thetis or Model A.

Voice-overs aside, the game is quite intense. The tediously primeval map system from the original ZX is not to be found here.Thank goodness! With more stylus abilities than its predecessor, Mega Man ZX Advent is just as interactive and innovative as The Legend of Zelda:Phantom Hourglass. The difficulty is, however, noteworthy. There are many Pseudoroids with an eclectic variety of abilities that one must memorize in order to choose the correct one to proceed to previously impenetrable areas. The Trans-On (or in the English version, A-Trans) feature may be overwhelming at first, admittedly, and yet the function is facilitated largely by the Profile menu, upon pressing Start and then L.The menu is more complex, and with due reason--14 characters to choose from is no small feat.Capcom has outdone itself this time, and the graphics are stunning.Simply observe the different terrain within one level and you will see what I am referring to.

The background music is its hallmark. There is no better soundtrack to listen to on any Nintendo DS game than to this one. From the classic-Capcom electro beats of Grey's opening stage (the track is called "Destiny") to Ashe's sky-high theme ("Through the Lightning" and "Be One") to the incredibly catchy Vent/Aile Model ZX Megamerge sequence ("Determined Eyes").Which brings up the cinematics of the game.Although it should be noted that Ashe's story has shorter clips, they are still as state-of-the-art as they get, culminating in the Model ZX encounter and transformation sequence.Check out YouTube for these. My favorite is Aile's "Rock On".Capcom can be blamed for a lot things, which include an inept attempt at connecting loose storylines, and the unbearable difficulty of the game itself, but they should also be praised for their innovative graphics, control scheme, and their music!

The basic premise of the game is this. You choose a reploid named Grey, or a human named Ashe, who become the Chosen One for Model A (which reminds one of Axl from the Mega Man X games). You are to protect the world from a serious threat stemming with the same power as your Biometal from reaching its full potential.Prometheus and Pandora are key villains who test your might by pitting you against other "Mega Men" or Chosen Ones, who essentially possess similar powers as yours. If you do not confront the person who is perpetrating this series of events, then war and chaos will befall the reploid and human race, bringing it back to its discordant times dating back to Mega Man X and Mega Man Zero eras.

I won't spoil much more.I hope this will inspire you to purchase the game, and I hope you enjoy it!

Herbert Ortiz

Mega Man Star Force 3 Black Ace Review

Mega Man Star Force 3 Black Ace
Average Reviews:

The megaman games are classics, and they're all wonderfully designed. The Star Force series is no exception. Not as good as Battle Network but still a LOT of fun. It doesn't rely on the touch-screen very much which is pretty convenient but what reliance it has isn't too hindering. I wouldn't say this game is quite as good as Star Force 2, but it's still very good so far.

Mega Man Legends Review

Mega Man Legends
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
In the age of console progression from 2D graphics to a 3D world, so many developers and game series had trouble adapting to the drastic changes that took place - scenery required more in-depth thought than simple textures and scrolling backgrounds, and on a metaphorical level the character that a player controlled was no longer as detached emotionally; with the advent of 3D movement came a closer "bond" between the gamer and his character, a feeling that you weren't just controlling a protagonist, but working WITH him to accomplish what was done. In that respect, few companies truly managed to capture that essence in the games that graced consoles such as the Playstation (although many, such as Final Fantasy, more than proved their worth in storyline alone).

Not so with Megaman Legends.

Normally one would be worried about the substantial track that Legends takes off the main path compared to the other series - Megaman "Rock" Volnutt's origins are far from related to the events of the original series, he doesn't ever obtain the ability to copy an enemy's powers (although this is made up for with a large list of Special Weapons), and even "Wily" is reduced to an octogenarian boat shop owner. Yet it is precisely this fact that makes the game so enjoyable to both veterans and new players; the former will find within the game's content the same "Blue Boy" persona they've known, albeit with even more backstory and characterization, and the latter can jump into this game without needing to worry about prior knowledge or information.

The story, although relatively quick and straightforward, is still consistent enough in its endeavors that it's hard to find a reason to be bored - when you're not chasing down henchmen of the pirates as they storm the city's center, you're likely to be facing off against some giant Reaverbot or even simply exploring the eerie, isolated Sub-Ruins that dominate the island. And, oh, does the scenery attribute to this - no matter where you happen to go the environment and its sound effects are sure to match your situation beautifully. In the city, peppy uptown music jingles as polygonal cars drive the streets; in the underground ruins, the music changes to a solemn and eerily 'lacking' tune with only the occasional clank or grind, allowing you to focus entirely on the soft sounds of Reaverbot movements coming from all directions - it is the little details like this that help make the experience so memorable (if you don't believe me, try exploring the Clozer Woods Ruins alone in a dark room at night).

Megaman's primary weapon is of course his famous Buster gun, but the game goes about improving it in a rather interesting manner: Buster Parts. Rather than simply obtaining permanent upgrades over the course of the game, Megaman can instead collect a large variety of different attachments that increase the power of his shots, how rapidly he fires them, how far they can reach, or how many he can shoot before he must "pause" briefly to recharge, or any combination of the four. Thus, the player is invited to create and edit their own "build" to suit their needs based on the situation. Is the enemy close up but taking too long to defeat? Sacrifice some range to buff up your attack. Or perhaps they're just out of reach? Take away a little bit of your firing capacity to stretch out the range that little bit farther. The fact that there's no combination that provides a max-out of every stat (save for a particular item on Easy Mode) means that the necessity for these kind of choices is always apparent, and this further encourages experimentation and practice in a game that already involves the player so much.

However, Megaman also has some support in his efforts against the Reaverbots, in the form of Special Weapons. Ranging from explosive mines to homing missiles (and even a laser!), the options our blue-clad hero has to choose from to accompany him on his adventures remain as variable as ever. However, there is an important catch - he has to find them first. Each of the Special Weapons must either be obtained through a storyline event or by combining several different pieces together, most of which are found only through exploring the extensive caverns of the Sub-Ruins. Yet even after finally acquiring these instruments of power, there's still more that can be done - each Special Weapon has its own set of areas that can be powered up (such as attack power, ammo amount, or even a special ability). While these improvements can range from cheap to wholly expensive in cost (and thus might illicit in some a feeling of boredom from repetition of money farming), these improvements are entirely optional and absolutely none of them are required in order to finish the story, meaning the amount of time spent on them is left completely up to the player.

Perhaps what is by far the most appreciated aspect of this game, and most certainly appreciated by myself, however, is the voice acting. In a time where very few console games provided a substantial amount of voiceover work and even fewer did so WELL, Megaman Legends stands as a huge testament to just how much a great performance can enhance a character or the game experience overall. I can guarantee you any person who has played Megaman Legends beyond the first hour of gameplay will recall one or more lines spoken by the infamous Bonne family, from Tiesel's "I TOLD you....CLOSE the HATCH!!!" to Tron's infamous "It's a dog!" scene, or even just the adorable piping voices of the many Servbots. This is not limited to antagonists, however; Megaman himself is graced with one of the most fitting voices I have ever heard for his personality, and the Casket family themselves are far from monotonous. Yet despite all this character, the actual vocal performance is so spot-on that it's hard to not find yourself growing attached to both good and bad guy alike; lines are so well delivered and emotion so well conveyed, and both occur so often, that the game jumps to life long before the timeline of events becomes intense, and the clearer audio quality provided by the Playstation version of the game (which was lowered down for the port to the Nintendo 64) means that you get to hear these conversations in strikingly clear fashion.

If you are simply looking to kill some time and relax, this game can provide that - videos and evidence exist of players breezing through the game's story in anywhere from 1 to 3 hours (depending on difficulty level), and Easy mode, once unlocked, is literally the definition of "an absolute blast" for those who aren't looking to work too hard. If you want to spend longer, however, the Legends can provide that too - between the numerous sidequests and the SUBSTANTIAL number of upgrades one can make to the Special Weapons (only after you find the parts to make them, of course!), one could quite possibly spend more time on the sub-events than they do on the actual story - and yet, it is all still so immersive.

If you are already the owner of this unique and memorable installment in the Megaman timeline, I hope that you continue to enjoy its nuances even if it's a been a long time since you played it. If you're new to the series or haven't played this game, however, I honestly implore you to pick up a controller and give this a try. Though one can fully admit there are games out there with more intense fights and gameplay than what Legends presents, few can match the sheer memorability and ingenuity that surrounds so many aspects of this work from Capcom. Whether a Christmas present for a nostalgic or a blast from the past for yourself, Megaman Legends can really do nothing but good for the individual who allows the island of Kattelox to come into their life; though the light from Volnutt's Buster wasn't around for very long, it continues to shine in the hearts of so many still today.

Mega Man Battle Network 6: Cybeast Falzar Review

Mega Man Battle Network 6: Cybeast Falzar
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
(This same review was originaly posted of MegaMan Battle Network 6: Cybeast Gregar, before Falzar was added.) I have Cybeast Falzar. However, it isn't that different than it's canine counterpart. The few differences include the navis, the giga chips, and the final bosses. There are also two break navis in Falzar, and two fire navis in Gregar. Here are the following navis for each version:

Falzar:
SpoutMan (Water)
TamahawkMan (Wood)
TenguMan (Wind)
GroundMan (Break)
DustMan (Break)

Gregar:
HeatMan (Fire)
ElecMan (Elecric)
SlashMan (Sword)
EraseMan (Cursor)
ChargeMan (Fire)

Hopefully that will aid in the choosing of your version.

Well, here's the basic story. The game starts out with... the Hikari family moving! Yes, our hero's family moves to a new town called Cyber City. He has to deal with making friends, going to school, and getting used to his new house. A few happenings later, Megaman finds himself face to face with a cybeast! One of the cybeasts is absorbed into Megaman (Although I'm not telling you why.) and that cybeast would be, of course, the cybeast of the verion that you are currently playing! You eventualy get to utalize their powers, althought they're very similar. This might just be the best (and sadly the last) installation of the Megaman Battle Network series. I reccomend it, especially if you are a fan of the series.

Mega Man X Command Mission Review

Mega Man X Command Mission
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I picked this game up for 40$ and I have to say it is money well spent.Few games these days are good enough to make me feel that my money was put to good use.

While MMXCM is a bit basic as far as exploration and storyline goes, it really shines in the fun department. The graphics fit the game perfectly and the voice acting, while not the greatest, is adequate.(Mega Man fans, this time our blue bomber doesn't sound like a little girl!)Most of the MMX games are hurt by less than stellar voice acting :).

Combat is fun, in that you get weapon energy before each battle. You can choose to use it, or let it build up for stronger attacks. Then, you can even use Final Strikes, which means all 3 of your fighting characters jump in at once to deal out major damage. And each character has a special transform move that makes them twice as tough.Lots of strategy falls into the battles on this game, especially the boss battles.

There is a sort of mini game that really gets you hooked once you pick up the basics.During the game, you find Deployment Robots. You can send these out to stages you have already visited to pick up secret treasures. They go up levels depending on if you placed them properly and used good strategies.Very fun.

Speaking of Final Fantasy, I think this game easily blows away FF8, FFX, and FFX-2.

The combat system is fun and doesn't really get old, especially when you get all the characters and are able to switch them in and out of battle at will. And unlike every other RPG I have ever played, every character is fun and useful to use.In all the Final Fantasy games, there have been a few characters who I tried to keep swept under the rug at all costs. Not so in this game.

I would have given the game an overall score of 5 if exploration had been a little better.Other than that, this is a great game, ESPECIALLY for Mega Man fans.

Mega Man X6 Review

Mega Man X6
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
[I want to apologize for making this review so long, but I felt as though this game needed to be explained thoroughly.]
Mega Man X6(2001). Part six of seven.
After the somewhat disappointing X5, another sequel appeared less than a year later. How is this possible? According to another reviewer, apparently both X5 and X6 were created at the same time by two different teams under Capcom. For the most part, X6 is a combination of X5's style and X3's complexity. It contains the same graphics and classic gameplay as the previous two X games, but there are several features to this game that set it apart from the others. Here's the breakdown:
PROS:
-THANKFULLY, THERE ARE NO MORE MANDATORY ALIA MESSAGES! Capcom realized this mistake from X5 and made this feature optional. A small "!" appears in the corner when you reach key points in the stage and if you ever need them (true MM junkies don't) just press select. Finally, we get completely uninterrupted gameplay!
-The difficulty has been Vamped up drastically. This can be a good thing and a bad thing (more on the bad later). The good thing is that the game is no longer a cake-walk to beat like X4 and X5. The enemies will definitely give the player something to keep busy with.
-Perhaps the most non-linear X game in the series. By that I mean all the levels are vast, containing two different exits, and large arena-rooms to explore. Plus, the secret items are all cleverly scattered. You have to do more thinking than ever before to obtain some of them.
-The sound effects are slightly different than before. Now the explosions really let out a BANG! Also, some of the stage tunes are a return to X4's techno hardrock style, namely the Heatnix, Wolfgang, Mijinion, and Shark stages.
-Rescuing the 128 different reploids. This adds even more depth to X6 and allows the player to gain enhancements by rescuing them.
-X can now use the Z-saber! While it is not very good as a rapid attack weapon, it does help to reflect projectiles in the heat of combat.
CONS
-Okay, now the bad thing about the difficulty: SOME AREAS IN THE GAME LEAD TO POINTLESS FRUSTERATION. When I say that enemies come in endless waves, I mean that they throw everything and the kitchen sink at you. It comes to the point where even a veteran MM gamer cannot make it through each stage without losing lives. THE NIGHTMARE SYSTEM DOES NOT HELP THIS. Often times annoyances like meteors, fireflies, blackouts, and impassible silver blocks will take more effort to get through than normal stage enemies, which is nonsense. AND ITS ALL RANDOMLY GENERATED.
-THERE ARE TOO MANY NIGHTMARE ENEMIES. In some stages like the museum, most every enemy you face will be one of those. A little more variety in the bestiary would have benefited.
-Besides the four tracks I mentioned, the rest of the music is dull, boring, popish, and often annoying. I personally cannot stand the museum stage tune. AND WHAT'S WITH THE GRUNGE INTRO TRACK? This does not even fit with the X universe!
-LEVELS ARE NOT RANDOMLY GENERATED LIKE THE BOX CLAIMS. Okay Capcom, I don't care if the levels were actually random or not, but it's a really bad move to make a boast about a feature that's not there.
-Once again, the bosses are rather easy to beat. This is a bit of a letdown after how incredibly hard some of the stages are. Contrary to this though, the mini-boss High Max, seems almost too difficult to beat.
-Like the whale stage in X5, THE REPEATING JUNK-BALL MINI BOSS IN HEATNIX'S STAGE GETS TEDIOUS AFTER GOING THROUGH THE STAGE MORE THAN TWICE. It hurts the most when you're going back to rescue just one reploid.
-The story pretty much shot down the drain with this game. The cutscenes, though voice-acted in Japanese, drag on for a looooooong time. Like I said with X5, BRING BACK THE ANIME CUTSCENES! Zero should either be here to stay or gone for good. None of this "dramatic death and resurrection" junk. One other thing, STOP RESURRECTING SIGMA! Play X6 for the gameplay itself, not the story.
-Once a reploid gets caught by a nightmare, he can never be rescued again. In order to get him back, you have to reload the game. This can get annoying with some reploids.
-X can obtain two excellent pairs of armor (Blade, and Shadow), BUT GETTING THEM REQUIRES YOU TO ENDURE THE RANDOM NIGHTMARE SYSTEM UNTIL THE RIGHT HAZARD COMES ALONG IN A PARTICULAR STAGE. You can't acquire anything else without them.
X6 as a whole is a fun, challenging, and more often than not, a frusterating game. However I only recommend this one to experienced gamers, as this is one of the hardest MM titles to date. With a bit more work, this game could have easily been a classic. Despite all the shortcomings, it succeeds in retaining the classic 2D gameplay that makes Mega Man games what they are. I'm only being so critical on this game because I am an incredibly big MM fan who cares about the series. The story is the weakest part of X6, but give the game a chance. It's at least worth playing through one time. Get equipped with bubble lead all over again and go give it a shot.

Mega Man ZX Review

Mega Man ZX
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Mega Man ZX is, technically, Mega Man's first action venture onto the dual screens of the DS. Yes, I know we've a Mega Man Battle Network port before this, but that's more of a RPG, and doesn't exactly re-enact the type of frantic side-scrolling adventures so commonly associated with the series' games of the past. ZX, on the other hand, works like previous GBA Mega Man Zero (and before) titles, and continues to provide a sterling challenge for fans of the series with its easy-to-master, hard-to-execute platforming gameplay.

Playing either as Vent (male) or Alle (female), your character is a delivery personnel working for Giro Express, a courier company. Giro, the boss of the company, actually has the secret identity of being a Guardian, who has been fighting against the evil Mavericks for quite a while. Early in the game, you're tasked to delivery a biometal package to the Guardians, but ended up being attacked by the bad guys. The biometal then merged with you, and you gained the powers of a Mega man prototype form known as Model X. Model X provides you with increased speed, mobility and firepower, which you used to perfection in removing the immediate threat. However, Giro has gone missing during the melee, and your immediate task is to go for his rescue.

Playing as Vent or Alle has little differences to the plot. Some dialogues are different, but the premise remains identical. What's important is the introduction of Model X in the scheme of things, because it's what you'd need to transpire the various platforms and death traps in the game in your bid to uncover the evil schemes of the Mavericks and their perpetuator. As you progress, you'll unlock different forms of Model X, granting you more powers to transverse the large map that several challenging level designs. The LX, for example, allows you to move freely underwater. The HX, on the other hand, gives you the ability to hover, which in turns allows you to access previously non-accessible areas. You'll also have the option of reverting to human form as and when required - this is useful when you need to crouch under low areas, which is not possible when you're in your biometal costume.

The mission structure in Mega Man ZX has some free-roaming elements. The map is enormous, spanning over 60 unique levels, and each level has its own missions for you to undertake. It's entirely up to you to decide what you want to do first, which is a great idea for what's essentially a 2D platformer. However, despite the freedom to choose, the idea is not exactly well executed. This is because most of the time, you'd only be limited to a choice or two when you access a mission terminal. A large part of this is due to the somewhat linear manner of accessing a new area. You'd need to go into a new area via doors, but many of these doors are locked, and cannot be opened until you get a key. You'd still get to choose between missions available in the areas that are accessible, but this restriction somehow undermines the potential of a truly free-roaming environment.

The platforming in the game provides some nice challenges. Many of your jumps require extreme precision, and this is where the game sometimes becomes frustrating. Enemies also respawn almost immediately after you beat them (once you leave their "first appearance" location), and at times, you'd get hit just because you didn't expect the enemy to reappear so quickly. The challenging nature of its platforming means that Mega Man ZX may pose some problems for newcomers to the game - this is certainly not your usual feel-good Mario jumping galore. A great challenge is always good though, and this game serves up lots of them on top of the platforming. The old-school boss fights, for example, are fun and engaging. They typically require you to find out a distinctive weakness in a boss' attacking pattern, and then dealing your own counter-attacks said weakness. These fights differ from boss fights from the modern era, which are usually settled by spamming the "attack" buttons relentlessly.

For a DS game, Mega Man ZX surprisingly doesn't utilize the features of the dual screen extensively. The action occurs primarily on the top screen, while the touch screen shows nothing but a logo. During some action scenes, the touch screen will show the biometal information, but this is very much a gimmick than anything. To view your character's items, weapons and statistics, you'd need to stop the game, but these are also shown on the top screen. With several pages of statistics available, you'd end up pressing the shoulder buttons to browse through them. Surely, dividing these pages onto both screens would be a more viable choice? Moreover, for a game with such a massive number of levels, the game would do well to have a Castlevania-style map on the touch screen to guide the player. Sadly, this isn't included.

The in-game graphics in Mega Man ZX are a combination of 2D and 3D graphics, which are typical of a side-scrolling platformer on the DS. They provide some enjoyable in-game displays, and give the game a nice, dimensional look. The cut-scenes are also awesome in a sense that they're actually rendered in cel-shaded animation sequences. True, the rather weak decoding makes the animation appear blurred, but to actually watch some short cartoon scenes while playing a game? I'd take that any day. The music scores are also catchy and exciting, but most importantly, they provide much variety (no more being bored to death by repetitive music!). The levels and their bosses each have a different theme, making this a really thorough experience on top of playing the game and enjoying the graphics. The voice-overs during the cut-scenes, however, are in its original Japanese form. There's also no evidence of this game having any English voice-overs, which could be disappointing for those who wanted to actually understand what they're hearing. Subtitles are included though, so that should make understanding the story a little easier.

In a nutshell, the solid gameplay and presentations make Mega Man ZX one of the best action games on the DS. The lack of a dual-screen map support and English voice-overs pose some concerns, but the game still offers the kind of thrill that can only be found in a Mega Man franchise. And for some of us out there, it's more than enough.

Mega Man Maverick Hunter X Review

Mega Man Maverick Hunter X
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The Mega Man X Collection was fantastic. It was a port, of course, but not a bad port. Now for the PSP we receive Maverick Hunter X which is nothing more than a recreation of a Super Nintendo classic. However, it is a fantastic recreation!

In 1993 CAPCOM began the Mega Man X series, which was a more action packed beefed up version of the original Mega Man games. The series takes place in the year 21XX, about one-hundred years after the original series.A band of renegade reploids known as Mavericks are waging war with humans, and they're being led by an evil reploid (and former hunter) named Sigma. It is up to Mega Man X to lead the band of Maverick Hunters against these mavericks.

To the veterans of the original 1993 classic on the SNES, the gameplay is virtually the same.In some areas it feel too familiar as the level layouts and enemy placements and patterns are about the same. This isn't such a bad thing, of course, if you enjoyed the original game.Like most every other Mega Man game, you'll choose a level and work your way to the boss and then collect his weapon.

Bosses typically use the same pattern they did in the original. They might alter them a little, but not so much that they don't seem familiar.

The 3D graphics are incredible. The enemies, backgrounds, platforms, everything from the loveable SNES version is there, only completely rendered in 3D.You'll recognize all the foes and all the levels. It's beautiful and perfect for a handheld such as the PSP.

The music is a mixed bagIt's remixed from the SNES version, but you'll either like it or hate it.Some tracks sound really good, others really don't.The ones that sound good you'll love, but the ones that don't will definitely show.

A few differences are in place. If you remember where the location of the capsules were, you might as well forget them.Capsules are--for those who are new to the series--what will give X his power ups for his legs, X-Buster, helmet and body armor. They're not in the same location as the SNES.The capsules are located in different levels, and some of the power ups you'll have to have.

A game like Maverick Hunter X isn't very long at all.Luckily, there are a few extras that are worthwhile. The story is now told in Anime cutscenes. After completing the game you'll be able to view a half-hour cutscene that gives lots of backstory to the series.Likewise, after completing the game you'll be able to play as Vile!Vile is known as one of X's adversaries, but you'll be able to play as him here. He's got some pretty cool things he can do being that he's got weapons everywhere.

However, there will be times upon playing this game where those who were practically in love with the original will probably want to boot up the old SNES original.I say go for it, to compare. It'll help you appreciate just how beautiful this game is.

This is a remake of a game done right. The way it's done is absolutely perfect and something any Mega Man X fan should invest in.Yes, it is worthwhile.Sometimes even better than the SNES original.

The Good
+Remake of one the greatest 2D side-scrollers of all time
+The gameplay is still remarkable
+It look gorgeous
+There is a lot more story told
+Neat extras

The Bad
-Some of the music isn't great

For Hardcore Fans... definitely!

The game builds upon the original with new renderings of 3D character models, new environments and gameplay features that raise the bar for side-scrolling platformers. In response to this, the Maverick Hunters, an elite squad of Reploids, were formed to combat these renegade Reploids and calm was restored until one of the Maverick Hunters, a powerful Reploid named Sigma, turned against the peacekeepers.
