9 out of 10 people will probably see this, and pass it up as another cheap RPG, for one thing you only have 1 dungeon (gasp) when you leve you level back down to 1 (GAsp), and you capture monster just like in Pokemon (GASP).No it's not a compelation of rip off's, this is a classic that is highly addicting, and incredibly fun, if given a chance.
The story revolves around a young lad (you name) who on his fifteenth birthday is given the opportunity to become a hunter and explore the depths of the Monster Tower to retrieve riches, however to do so he must not only survive, but grow as a trainer and as a man.In comes the Kewe, the monster you will likely use for a majority of the game.He is a fire type (there are only three types) and he is your brief tutorial, and key to success early on.
... YOu also must build up your respect to the townsfolk, to do this you must enlarge certain places (Temple, Hospital) and build new things (Library, Gym, Casino, Race Track, Bowling Alley ect..) and the town will grow to respect you.
Now as for the tower it'self, there are 40 floors, everytime you leave you go back down to level 1.No it's not immpossible for two reasons.
A) Your monsters level stays the same when you leave, this is due to the fact that they are more like equipment.
B) Weapons and armors stay the same, when a red or blue sand is used your weapons and armor grow more powerful, so technically you can easily dominate the first few levels without you monsters assistance.
Overall this game is tricky, you will die the first few times (lose all your items except monsters)but once they are strong enough you can succeed. There are 40 randomly changeing floors and they get more and more difficult as you go along.YOu must adjust your mosnters accordingly by class.
A)Fire
B)Wind
C)Water
Fire beats Wind, Water beats Fire, Wind Beats Water.
I would buy this for the challenge it possess, guarennteed addiction.

Tales of Destiny 2 Review

Tales of Destiny 2
Average Reviews:

I didn't think it was all that great at first because of the poor english voice actings, but once you really get into the game, it's no problem at all! The small faults wouldn't affect th game-play too deeply, and after all, fortunately, the voice acting gets better as you advance in the game. The voices do match the characters well, although.

Anyways, like I said, don't let the voices get to you, after all, it's an honest to goodness, excellent game!!! It's one of the most memorial ones I've played, even though I've been through many rpgs. Once you've completed the game, it'll have you thinking, "Why does it have to end!" Lol.

The main plot is quite alright, although it wasn't one of the strong points of this game. The character developement and the events that take place within the whole main plot makes up for it big time though. Although to repeat again, the main plot isn't that bad anyways.

The little morals and dialogues in the game are so touching. One of the strong points of this game.I found myself trying to stop tears when Meredy questions Reid what good memories really are. This game also brings a good point to discrimination.

The characters are simply brilliant. You get to really understand them and they're great. The character developement is great. In fact, this was what motivated me to write this review even though I'm not that sort of person, really. You'd think a 15 year old would have better things to do. But I thought I really should to put in my compliments for this game. And yeah, the characters are simply lovable.

The battle system is excellent. This game really sticks out from the rest of the rpgs how getting into battles can be also fun too, not like the others how you'd wish you could run away from all the annoying, boring battles. The voices in the battles aren't that bad, in fact, with the full awesome animation of swordsman techniques and spell casting for each character, simply excellent. The awesome battle music gets you going too.

The graphics of this game was pretty satisfactory I guess. Even though it's 2-d, it's still beautiful. I don't get what people were complaining about. After all, animes are 2-d. the backrounds have a nice, crisp look to it in my opinion.

The music wasn't that bad either. Even though the tunes weren't THAT catchy, it still has depth and feeling in it. It also has mood in it. I should know, I love music. Like Reid's hometown music, it has a homey, gentle feel to it. Oh yeah, and the battle music. Awesome. But not to be biased, I've played other rpgs too, and yeah, theirs isn't bad either. Still, the battle music for this game is GOOD.

Oh yeah, and not to forget about the mini games. They are fun. The game developers sure know what fun is. I've found myself playing Meredy's dancing thing over and over, trying to continously beat my own record. Lol.

The anime intro in this game was so cool!! It looks great. You should see it.

Anyways, I think I'm done. Ps. A very memorial game. I recommend it. Even for rpg haters. The battles system is so much better!

Suikoden II Review

Suikoden II
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I have played the suikoden series from the beginning and suikoden II is by far the best of them. If you enjoy enjoy an rpg with a good story and gameplay mechanics this should occupy your time. The major battles are one of best parts in my opinion. Your basicly playing a tatic game with recruited character for your army. Also there are a lot mini-games in your caslte. If you like a challenge try to recruit the 108 stars for your army. If you think a couple hundred dollars is too steep for this game wait a year or 18 months. Suikoden II should be released for Psp in 2007. Psp is remaking old rpgs for its system and this is one of them. I will get my copy even though I own the original. I just like the idea of playing one of my favorite games on a potable system. Overall suikoden II is one of the best 2-D rpgs of the 1990's. If your a retro gamer this is a game for collectors value and a fun game to play. And for rpg players, if you don't like to read play kingdom hearts or diablo 2.

Brave Fencer Musashi Review

Brave Fencer Musashi
Average Reviews:

This game was SOOO much fun!I don't know why it never became more popular! It's one of my favorites.
A game very much like Zelda, Musashi is a young boy who is summoned to another land to save thekidnapped princess. To do so, he must find parts of the legendary swordLumina and break the spells cast over the five scrolls. Thus, Musashiembarks on a long journey. He strolls around town, shops at the localstores, climbs the nearby mountain, and, of course, has to defeat numerousmeanies.
Besides the obvious role-playing/puzzle solving fun, there isplenty of battle to be done with the enemies, which becomes very excitingwhen you can actually absorb the powers of just about any creature in thegame. There are also lots of little fun perks along the way, such as yourdance contest with one the head of the Leader's Force (how else wouldMusashi fight a girl?)
I would highly recommend this game to anyone whois interested in role-playing/platform combination games, especcially ifyou are a Zelda or Final Fantasy fan. This game is exciting, unpredictable, funny, and it will keep you up all night!

G-Darius Review

G-Darius
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
With many PlayStation-owning shooter fans singing the praises of Einhander and R-Type Delta, this one has sort of been lost in the shuffle. That's a shame, because G Darius has lots to offer both hardcore and casual fans of the genre.
I fear that, since almost all of your foes in this game are robot aquatic creatures (sharks, crabs, sea horses, etc.), some people may dismiss it as "silly".In fact there is nothing silly or stupid about it.It's a fast-paced side-scroller with intensity to spare, and it boasts some of the most hectic bullet-dodging mayhem you'll ever encounter.
Your spacecraft has two weapons which are fired simultaneously:the standard, straightforward gun (horizontal) and grenades (vertical), both of which can be upgraded by snatching orbs from defeated enemies. What makes the game unique is the capture ball, a weapon you can launch at your foes to turn them into your sidekicks. They'll follow you loyally and attack whenever you fire, like the "options" in the Gradius series. There are quite a few different enemies you can do this to, and all of them have unique offensive capabilities. Some fire a very basic shot;some fire a "spread" shot;some hurl themselves at the opposition, causing damage by brazenly crashing into them at high speeds.
Speaking of speed, G Darius rips along at a pretty brisk pace, although the stages themselves are of satisfactory length.Minor slowdown sometimes occurs when you're doing battle with a boss and it launches about 100 bullets in your direction at once.In those rare cases, the slowdown is actually a blessing in disguise, because it affects everything on the screen, not just you.
Yes indeed, the screen can get mighty cluttered at times, but never to a hopelessly overwhelming degree.Unlike some shooters where staying alive is a strictly academic process of trial and error and moving into the right spot at the right time (cough, R-TYPES, cough), G Darius never "punishes" the player for an unwise maneuver by condemning him/her to an instant death. If your reflexes are sharp enough and you never release the rapid fire button, there is always at least a fashion model-slim chance that you'll be able to blast your way out of an extremely sticky situation and emerge victorious by the skin of your teeth.Your shields can be powered up much like your weapons can, a fact that brings new meaning to the term "life-saver".
Mind you, you can do more than dodge and peck away at the opposition to elude destruction at the hands (well, fins anyway) of a big, bullying barracuda or a cluster of kamikaze catfish.Foes bound to your service by the capture ball can be detonated if you want to take out any surrounding adversaries (or if you just plain get sick of having the stupid beasts follow you around).Even better, you can use them to power up your Alpha Beam, a weapon that will easily cut a swathe of carnage through standard enemies and lay some serious pain on the bosses as well.Don't start thinking you're omnipotent, though;each boss has a similar weapon (imaginitively titled the Beta Beam) and when yours meets theirs head-on, a struggle for supremacy ensues, with both beams growing in size and power until A) the duration of the beam expires, B) the battle concludes, or C) the entire screen gets filled by a glorious outpouring of blazing destruction originating from one side or the other.
The graphics here may not be terribly impressive but they get the job done. The designs of the enemies sometimes leave a bit to be desired (there's only so much you can do to make robotic fish look exciting, y'know?).The backgrounds are the game's strongest visual point, with some cool animation telling miniature stories while you're fighting for your life. There's one stage where a planet in the distance is doomed to be destroyed every time you play.Poor planet. My favorite stage has the ruins of a human city floating around;check out your ship's reflection in the mirrored windows of a skyscraper torn from its foundation, silently drifting through space.
The soundtrack has some forgettable fare with a 16-bit feel, but a few tracks are really striking. There's one (in the stage I just described) that can only be described as sounding "spacy" which is devoid of percussion and is so laid-back, it makes the on-screen chaos seem like some bizarre new age therapy. The final battle music is suitably catchy and adrenalized...you can also hear it when you first load the game, before pressing start, but obviously it won't have the same impact. And the "game over" tune is...dare I say it...beautiful!It almost makes it pleasant to end the game prematurely.
At the end of each stage, you'll have to choose between two adjacent stages to move on to.There are fifteen stages in all, and you'll have to beat five of them to win the game.Plus, each stage splits into an upper route and a lower route at the half-way point, and the boss will use different attacks against you depending on which route you take. Therefore, you'll have to play through the game quite a few times before you can truthfully say that you've seen it all. This, plus nine difficulty settings and the ability to adjust your reserve lives, credits, and capture balls makes for very high replay value for shooter fans of all skill levels.
If you still enjoy 2-D shooters, either passionately or casually, I cannot recommend this game enough, as long as you're prepared to PLAY it rather than just look at it.Whatever it lacks in graphic intensity, it more than makes up for with the IMPORTANT kind of intensity, and that's in the gameplay department.I've had this game for several years and I can't imagine it growing tiresome anytime soon.

Alundra Review

Alundra
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Rpg's throughout the ages of cmputer and video gaming have come and gone. Many have silently slipped through almost unoticed however this is one of those that manages to remain in the memories of the people involved in the world of gaming oncomputers of all kinds.
When you say the word RPG games such as Zelda, Final fantasy and Breath of fire fly through the air. However this is one game that easily stands up to the challenge that these rpg classics set.
The game takes place in around a village named Inoa, where you play an elf-like character who shares the same name as the game's title.Taking the game mechanics you would find in an RPG like the Zelda series and coupling it with a plot as dramatic as a Final Fantasy Psygnosis and dream matrix made an all time classic here. The story is that Alundra was on board a ship named "the Clark" and it sunk during a storm, washing up on Inoa beach he is nursed back to health and is drawn into a saga that has been plaguing the village inhabitants for some time.
Within this village numerous people are falling ill and dying as a result of dreams being turned into nightmares by a demon named Melzas. The player finds themselves summoned by a guardian named "Lars" (no connection to the Metallica drummer!) to stop this demon.Sounds cliched? In a way I suppose you are correct however the dreams idea is turned into a beauty of its own when you find that Alundra has the power to enter dreams and change their outcome. Thus you find yourself treated to numerous psychadelic images before winding in a usually dark rpg type dungeon where the dreams prisoner must be saved.
Of course this would be of no use to the gamer if there was no gameplay and naturally for an RPG there is tons buried beneath the surface. At first you feel that is a basic and simple rpg, yet later on it is that fact that makes this game such a well crafted piece of genius. The difficulty in this game comes commonly from the difficulty of the puzzles.Expect to have to decipher lock codes, organise a makeshift stairway from nothing amongst the obligatory demon slaying.
The game also boasts some fabulous variation in locale, whether it is the aforementioned dark dungeons, volcanoes and of course large castles expect to find lots to do.What makes this game even better is that it is between the plains of linear and non-linear.While like all other rpgs you are guided by information passed on by the usually passive characters in the village, you find that there are tons of secret locations to uncover within the mammoth quest that is available. If you like the idea of unlocking portals, uncovering life extending gems or new gear expect plenty of variety within the quest ahead.
Of course the game is not perfect. The main flaw with this game is that commonly you find puzzles being basic ones where you have to jump onto switches or simply time the throwing of a barrel and jump into a room. This may sound unchallenging yet it does prove difficult quite often when you find the time limits being incredibly tight. This is plus point in that you have to work at it, yet it is a negative point as you can sometimes fall from these jumps and wind up right at the very start of the puzzle or worse the dungeon.
This is one game that only the patient should try, if you have a low flashpoint then you may wish to give this a miss unless you can stop the urge to snap the disc!Persevere though and you find in this game a true classic that was slated for being a mere clone, however this is a foolish analogy to follow and is a joy to play from start to finish.Highly recommended.

This game is awesome. It takes place in the not so distant future, where battle mechs called wanzers dominate the battle field. You are Kazuki Takemura(but you can change your name)and you work for a wanzermaking/testing company. You become trapped in a world wide conspiracy andyou must get to the bottom of it by fighting tons of battles in your andyour allies wanzers. The combat system is turn based and your wanzers canlearn battle skills such as tackle, zoom, or stun punch. Move your mech, choose your attack, and then sit back and watch the battle cinematics.Wonderful graphics and gameplay. Rhapsody, A Musical Adventure Review

Rhapsody, A Musical Adventure

This lighthearted, charming RPG has lots of appeal for preteen and teenage girls because the main character is a sixteen-year-old girl named Cornet. The heroine of this story, Cornet dreams of meeting and falling in love with a handsome prince. One day in the woods, she is rescued from an evil witch's cronies by a young man who turns out to be Ferdinand, prince of the kingdom she lives in and heir to the throne. Ferdinand will soon turn eighteen, and is looking for a bride. He and Cornet soon begin to fall in love, but Ferdinand is then kidnapped by the evil witch. The rest of the game follows Cornet's quest to find and save Ferdinand. Although the game was rather short (it only took me ten hours to complete) it was just so fun that I didn't mind. The songs were really cute. I hope Atlus decides to bring the other two games in this series to America. I'd certainly buy them the day they came out. Rhapsody's no Final Fantasy, but it's definitley an enjoyable game that I'd highly reccomend.

Pac-Man World Review

Pac-Man World

Namco is well known for releasing quality software and this is no exception. This game was delayed numerous times until Namco felt that it met or exceeded the expectations of today's gamers. The result: one of thisyear's best platform games and a fitting tribute to probably THE mostrecognized character in video game history. Included is the originalPac-Man classic, a 3-D maze mode (ala Pac-Mania), and a new Quest(adventure) mode. The Quest mode has Pac-Man taking a romp in a colorfuland well-designed 3-D world. This is polished platform gaming at itsfinest. Pac-Man has numerous capabilities to help him solve some veryclever little puzzles throughout the 20+ levels. Control is tight andresponsive. The music and sound effects are also well done. Had Pac-ManWorld contained only the Quest mode, it would have been a worthy purchase. But add in the classic and 3-D maze modes as well and you have a ton ofreplay value in your hands. Highly recommended, especially to those of youwho have young children. Also, Pac-Man World is sure to appeal togirlfriends or wives who otherwise wouldn't be caught dead playing a videogame.

While I regard the Crash Bandicoot series the premiere platformers for the Playstation, I was pleasantly surprised with Ape Escape. Hunting down monkeys is such a hilarious concept it makes we wonder why nobody thoughtof it before. Overall, I found the game to be very well-designed, fun, andaddictive. The graphics, while not as pretty as Crash Bandicoot or Spyro, grow on you after a short amount of time. The developers made optimal useof the Dual Shock controller, more so than any other company. Control isperfect. I also found that, compared to many other 3D games, the in-gamecamera caused me very few problems. To make it easier for younger players, the game levels are littered with helpful hints. While not a huge game--itcan be finished in about a week--the three mini-games that are eventuallyopened up are a ton of fun and add longevity to the title. What I foundmost amazing is that each of the game's 204 monkeys has a unique name andpersonality. A tremendous amount of creative energy went into this title. You want to complete 100% of the game just to see every square inch of eachlevel. If I can find any fault with the game at all, it's that you mustcomplete the levels in a linear fashion. Other than that, it's an unusualand highly enjoyable platformer. Highly recommended.

Street Fighter Alpha 3 Review

If one were stuck with having to make a desert island selection of PSX games (on the unlikely event you were to be stuck on a desert island with only your PSX, a big tv, and all the electricity you'd need), it would be hard not to grab SFA3 as I can think of no other game (even includingnon-fighting games) that has earned so many hours of replay.Capcom reallycleaned up the fighting engine used in alpha2, giving the game a muchsmoother feel, while also managing to incorporate air combos without makingthe game feel spastic (it is rather thrilling for instance to be able toknock someone in the air with guile and then immediately hit them againwith his blade kick.)Throws have been made more difficult, but since thecommand is specific, throws are much more precise. Beyond the improved gameengine you can now select from three different chracter types called -isms(no, you arn't chosing your character's political affiliation!)Anyoneremember slash and bust mode from Samurai Shodown? The three differentmodes customize your character, Xism being similiar to play in Super StreetFighter 2 Turbo (quite a mouthful), with one big super, no air blocking, but takes and gives out more damage.Aism is standard Alpha fighting modewith multiple super moves, air blocking, etc.while V-ism gives yourcharacter a shadow which repeats the attacks of your character (alsoappearing in SFA2).These are not the only differences between modesthough, as most characters actually have one or two different moves in thevarious modes. Were this not enough, SFA3 has incorporated every characterin the SF series so now you can play Honda, Blanka and T-Hawk (should youhave the desire to do so.) On top of this, there are several options whichwill add hours of game play to this already fantastic game.First is theworld tournament mode where you can build your character into an unstoppablefighter. The ability to customize characters in this mode andbring them into versus games or even normal arcade games is very exciting. The ability, for instance to make a 32 level Shin Akuma that can do hisRaging Demon move every 10 seconds, and if the move connects, your opponenttakes 60% damage...well it is a great way to work out your aggressions. Also there is the fun of making characters that can use the best of all the-isms (Aism character that can do V-ism custom combos). You can even giveyour character the chain-combo option like SFA1 and Dark Stalkers. Otheroptions are even crazier. My favorite is the ability to team up withanother player against the computer. On the PSX you must play ryu and ken or two of the same characters. Survival mode is also quiteenjoyable if you have made a 32 level character and you want to fight asmany characters as quickly as you can.Infinite survival model lets you takeyour skill as far as it will go!This game is not for everyone but if youenjoy fighting games (even if you have not enjoyed the other street fightergames) you should give alpha 3 a chance. If you are a street fighter fan, then you must purchase this game.

The more fights you win, the stronger you fighter becomes. You can also learn new moves, and there are three levels of Super moves to choose from before you start each round (called Isms).Arcade - A simple conversion of the arcade version. Beat each fighter with your chosen warrior, in three rounds per match (much the same as past versions of Street Fighter)Versus - Two human players battle it out.Training - A good way to learn all the super moves that are available, against a dummy.Entry - If you save your character during the World Tour mode, you can upload him here to use in the other modes in the game (especially handy for Training). Finally, if you complete certain areas of the game three new fighters become available, including another old favourite in Guile, Evil Ryu and Shin Akuma.

Yep, I can remember back in the day when the Playstation just came out and this was the first game i got back when the PS1 games came in those bulky cardboard cases instead of the smaller jewel cases. Well, this game is still a blast to play after all these years and is easily one of my favorite games of all time. This one had all the perfect levels and the perfect balance of characters set in a darker tone than the other games had besides TM:Black of course. I liked how each level had some destructible environments as well as the inside cockpit view in the cars. The stories for each of the characters were all interesting and made you want to play through with each character. Overall, this is a great game that will have you playing for quite a while and while your at it, check out TM2 which is an amazing game as well. You should especially check this one out if your a newer fan to the series and want to see the games roots.

This is one of the best games I have played, ever. I was afraid at first that it might be more fanciful than I wanted, that maybe the horses were not even going to be horses at all, robots perhaps. But thankfully, theyare truly horses. This is a most realistic game, with conditions such assloppy tracks, getting bumped and dealing with getting boxed in.Most funof all is winning the big races, because by the time you accomplish such athing, you have truly put in your time with eating a lot of dust. Yougradually build up a stable of better and better champs, and are invited torace in previously unknown races. Special trophies are awarded to the besthorses, and when they retire, they are placed in a"hall-of-fame", where their stats are memorialized.A knowledgeof horse-racing is almost a must before playing this game, such as knowingthe difference between a dirt and turf track, a sprinter and a distancehorse, and understanding how horses peak differently. Handicapping alsocomes into play. All in all, this is a most rich, educational game. Perhapsmost of all, I have learned how much jockeying can make or break a race, nomatter how good the horse.

Einhander Review

Einhander
Average Reviews:

There's a reason why this game is held in such high regard among true blue shooter fans.Einhander has the trappings of a legendary game within its genre.Dazzling graphics, tight control, outstanding music and sounds, and a strong variety of weapons. They're all here, but that's not where the fun stops. There's also an art gallery that grows as the quality of your performance increases and an intriguing story, much different from the usual "an evil alien empire wants to destroy humanity, let's send one fighter pilot to stop all 500,000,000 of them" fare.In Einhander, you're on a suicide mission and you're painfully aware of it.Beautiful!
Einhander's visuals are beyond reproach. The backgrounds are vibrant and detailed without being garish or distracting, especially stage five.Ship designs are cool all around, and every enemy, from the mightiest boss to the lowliest peon, goes out in a blaze of glory when you destroy it, instead of merely blinking out of existence or disappearing in a bland red puff.
On the audio front, the sound effects are excellent.Launching rockets, shattering neon signs, and, of course, explosions. All well done. The intentionally emotionless female voice that addresses you after each stage is very credible, and the German commands you hear during boss encounters lend a terrific sense of atmosphere to the game.Moody and catchy techno tunes provide the musical backdrop and, for the most part, complement the corresponding areas perfectly. The operatic female vocals at the beginning of stage one clash very effectively with the destruction that ensues and let you know your ears are in for a treat from the start. And, the music for the sixth stage end boss (after the rocket with the time limit) is so rousing, you won't even care when he kills you 20 times in a row.
Eight special weapons are readily available and there's something for every taste, from the heat-seeking Wasp ("You can run, but you can't hide!") to the lightsaber-like Blade ("I don't need no Force to kick your sorry butt!") to the no-nonsense, wallop-packing Cannon ("JUST DIE!!!!").Plus, there are four others (each a sort of variation on one of the ubiquitous eight) hidden throughout the game.
Einhander's developers hit the nail squarely on the head (pun absolutely intended) where the challenge level is concerned. The game can get pretty rough, but it's the GOOD kind of rough. No shields or defensive power-ups are available (one of the game's very few flaws) so one hit will kill you, but it has to be solid, direct impact.Enemy bullets that travel at 2 MPH and just barely graze the little ball on the top of your radio antenna don't count. The last two bosses are tough to beat, and some of the earlier ones aren't exactly a cake walk either, but the only one that I think crosses the line between "challenging" and "frustrating" is the robotic ape mid-way through stage five.Oh, how I despise that banana-chewing abomination!
You get three lives per credit and nine continues for a total of 30 lives, though you'll earn an extra life or two along the way when you attain a certain score. However, there is one point in the game...the rocket you approach from behind...where, if you fail to defeat it within the given time limit, it's GAME OVER no matter how many lives or continues you have left! So, unless you want to see the "bad" (or should I say "worse"?) ending, I'd advise you to get yourself killed if it looks like you're not gonna get the job done in time. Then, you'll get another shot at it.
If proof was ever needed that 2-D games can still be plenty of fun, Einhander is that proof.I revel in the fact that it outshines many more modernized games on all fronts despite the old-fashioned 2-D gameplay. The only exception is the Wasp missile being able to seek and destroy on-screen enemies that have yet to align with your ship (and certain objects in the background, too...that's a hint). Some might complain about the lack of a two-player mode, but in my opinion the gloomy suicide mission aspect of the game would be jeopardized if it weren't played solo. With three ships to select from and no shortage of secrets (including two additional ships), the replay value is strong, but even if that weren't the case, you'd want to play it again and again anyway, because it's crafted with such tender, loving care and, on many levels, it's flawless.I have no qualms about calling Einhander one of the all-time great games for the PlayStation.Square would be well advised to re-release it (along with Final Fantasy Tactics and Xenogears).Don't hesitate to grab a copy if you come across one, as I for one am NOT selling mine!

Product Description:
There's no denying that the space shooter isn't what it used to be. The once-thriving genre, championed by such classics as Gradius and Raiden, has boiled down to more of a nostalgic pastime. People just aren't as jazzed about blowing away hordes of alien space ships and racking up billions of points like before. While the occasional shooter still shows up every now and then, it seems like it'd take a miracle for a company to produce one that would rejuvenate the genre and renew public interest. Leave it to Squaresoft to accept the challenge. And while the fruit of its efforts may not be the miracle this genre needs for a complete revival, it's just about as good as shooters get. Einhander isn't particularly long, but shooters almost never are. The half dozen or so stages are seamlessly interconnected and demand just over an hour to plow through in total. Each stage - in fact, each part of each stage - grows progressively more difficult, such that you'll constantly face new challenges in the form of smarter, meaner enemies and more of them. Likewise, the mid and end-level bosses will constantly keep you guessing, as they tend to be both unpredictable and versatile in their attack styles. Even shooter veterans will have their hands full with Einhander, though multiple difficulty settings make the game accessible and enjoyable even for those whose hand-eye coordination isn't what it used to be.

Twisted metal 2 has got to be the best version of twisted metal.I can't complain about the graphics, the characters are really cool, there are a number of different weapons you can use on your enemies, there's diverse landscapes to play on, the controls are easy to use.The Antarctica level has a fun feature where the land suddenly drops away and you can ram your enemies off huge cliffs. The Amazonia level has lava to drive on.The only problem is that you can't stop playing and waste numerous hours on the playstation. Well, I got to go play!!!

Gran Turismo 2 Review

Gran Turismo 2
Average Reviews:

Visually, GT has been improved over its top selling predecessor. While the cars are graphically the same, the backgrounds are much more detailed and sophisticated.Track design is superb with the addition of a few trueto life road courses. As of yet, I have not noticed any pop up which isunbelievable considering the amount of detail involved in this game.Theframe rate is pretty consistent although I have encountered slow down(about 20fps) when cornering on a few occasions. This struck me as oddbecause there was no traffic around at the time. The rally racing optionis fantastic and a lot of fun to play. What a great addition to thegame!
Experienced GT gamers will find the control identical to theoriginal Gran Turismo. For newcomers to this type of racer, there willprobably be about a 1-2 hour learning curve. While many people find thelicense testing a nuisance, it is ideal for the entry level gamer (ornewcomer to GT) to learn the concepts required to be successful in thistype of racing sim.For those who are more experienced, many of the testscan be passed in 1-3 attempts.
The variety of cars is unbelievable.Theonly noticeable absentees are Pontiac and Porsche. Many if not all of theoriginals have stayed to make a second appearance plus many, MANY newadditions. The range in variety of cars is incredible: from VW Beetles tothe Vector to super McLaren type cars. One thing that struck me as odd wasthe varied "model years" of some cars. The 2000 Toyota Celica is present, but GT2 still showcases the '97 Mitsubishi Eclipse and '96 Corvette seen inGT1.The Japanese styled Acura Integra has not been given the"American facelift" in this edition of GT either.
My onlyserious gripes in this game are the damage/collision factors and theextremely poor AI.How can this game be considered to be the "ultimateracingsim" when a player can slam into another car at 100+mph around acorner and use it as a "cushion" (in order to not have to reduce yourspeed) to take the turn?It is very disheartening and it takes away fromthe game.A player should "pay" for reckless driving!Games like TOCA 2demand responsible driving in addition to offensive and defensive racingtechniques. In GT2, you can slam into another car's quarter panel and nothave to worry about damage (or damage of any significance if you use the"collision option") or spinning out. There are no accidents andunfortunately, that takes a lot of the excitement away. You can create amonster of a car, and just rip around a track slamming into walls will noill effects. That doesn't seem right to me.Realism?I think not.
Inthis edition of Gran Tursimo, there are only 6 cars on track per race (inboth the arcade version and simulator version).I would have liked to haveseen at least 10-12 cars per race.
My last gripe is the AI, or lack thereof. It feels as if I am racing against mindless "drones."Again, the poorAI takes away from the excitement and this problem plagued GT 1 as well.Iwas hoping it would be corrected this time around.
Despite it'sdrawbacks, Gran Turismo 2 still remains the greatest racing title to evergrace a home gaming console. It is tremendous fun, and it is highlyrecommended. My wife even loves it!
I better start buying lotterytickets - because work just seems to be getting in the way of my gamingtime!

Product Description:
The original Gran Turismo is generally credited as the best drivinggame ever released on the PlayStation. That's a tough claim to beat, but the bestcontender to steal those bragging rights is, of course, the much-anticipated sequelGran Turismo 2.
This time the driving action takes place on 20 different racing courses--almost double thenumber in the original game. There are more than 400 cars to choose from, includingnewly added "muscle cars" and even a VW Beetle! While some racing games slide bywith less-than-realistic driving control, the Gran Turismo series has won overdie-hard car fanatics with its attention to detail and realism. For example, this game givesyou the freedom to modify your engine to maximize your driving performance. While notall gamers will care about adjusting their axle width or suspension, it is a nice option forthose of us who like to get under the hood before we go.
Once your car is up and running, the race begins. The arcade racing mode is filled withnumerous bumps and surprises. If you have a dual shock controller, you will feel everyrumble and shake as your car speeds, slides, and (often) crashes on the street. Thein-depth simulation mode allows you to earn money from your races so that you canupgrade your car's parts and, ultimately, buy or sell a car.

Medal of Honor Underground Review

Medal of Honor Underground
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The 1st Medal of Honor was such a great game.Especially for anyone interested in the history of the time, or more partial to a deeper game than your average Unreal frag-fest and such. And the perfection was that not only did the movie-style presentation strike a chord with novices and experts alike, the game wasn't really that hard to complete. All it took was time, and perhaps some luck.Thankfully, they have revived the series with MOH:Underground, and blissfully, they infused it with the exact same spirit and atmosphere that made the first one such a winner.
Gripes? Not any that would influence a purchase. But there are some nit-picky things.Graphics could be clearer, hit detection could be improved so you don't get hung up on a simple doorway. The enemies are a bit too accurate sometimes, and I hope you don't ever have the misfortune of walking past one, only to have him pop up behind you and tear you to pieces at point-blank range. Why do the Nazis love to jump out of open windows? If you've ever played a city portion of this game, you'll see what I mean (watch the oversized lit windows!)
But the good far outweighs the bad.And adjustable difficulty means you can set the challenge to suit your taste. And beware the difficulty! The game starts off fairly innocently, but once the background info tells you to "Be Careful, Manon!" you had better heed their warning!
This time around, the levels tend to be more maze-like, resulting in ample backtracking. It is fun to have an allied operative along with you in a few missions.Coming face to face with Panzer tanks is an experience! As is getting the chance to ride in a sidecar down a mountain road, blasting Nazis out of your way the entire journey (those guns NEVER run out of ammo!)
Long story short, it's a top-notch game.Especially if you liked the first one. Here's to sequels that AREN'T disappointments!
