As any DW fan will notice, dw6 replaced the old combo system with the new Renbu system. You can essentially mash square and attack forever. They changed it a little from DW6, since now Renbu doesn;'t decrease overtime, and is dependant on weapon level. Also, the numerous Imbueings and Special Attacks you can stick onto a weapon add another level of depth entirely, and I perfer this to random drops any day. The combat styles range from narrow, low-body count motions to wide area base-clearing sweeps, allowing custom officers to be made as anything from a duelist to a master of one against many.

Graphics - 3/5
I noticed right off that the quality of peons had decreased from DW6. The officer quality remains the same. I noticed later that this was to cram more characters into every level. For instance, I struggled to get 500KO in DW5E before any battle ended, but here I average 1200 or so.

Sound - 3/5
I enjoy the empires feature to select your own BGM from almost any song from a previous DW game. However, the horrible Enlgish voices return yet again, making you wish for the Japanese voice option, or making you glad to set voice volume to 0.

Replayability - 3/5
Replayability is the highest of any DW to date for me. Largely due to the initially frustrating fact that officer stats do NOT carry over from one play through to the next. Instead, you get clear points, which can be used to allow carry over of weapons, horses, and starting off with bonus gold or items. Once I played through twice, I found this enhances the raplayability for me. Also, there are numerous pieces of edit officer clothes to unlock by completing missions and playthroughs.

Overall - 4/5
My favorite DW title to date. Best edit officer feature in my opinion. Love it!

Summoner 2 Review

(More customer reviews)I bought the first Summoner game and loved it, so I was looking forward to Summoner 2.Well, I really enjoyed Summoner 2 as well, except for the fact it's already over!Never have I completed an RPG in so short a time.I even embarked on several side quests, and I was NOT up all night playing this game! At least the game has replay value, due to all the side-quests.However, I was disappointed to discover you can only re-play the game with your ... "newbie" stats.Too bad it can't be like "Chrono Trigger" or "Chrono Cross", where your stats are higher the more you re-play the game.So what's the point of the "save" function at the very end of Summoner 2?Just so you can see Maia's final battle over and over again?It seems so pointless.
Like I said, I did enjoy the game.The storyline is excellent (as was the first Summoner plot), the characters are well-developed, the fighting is greatly improved (I've been waiting for years for another "real time" fighting rpg, like "Zelda" and "Alundra"!!), it's one of the hardest rpg's I've played in a looong time (Battle-wise I died many frustrating deaths, getting crushed by non-stop foes! FFX was a easy by comparison!), and I liked that several of the characters from the first Summoner appeared in Summoner 2!Yago is a playable character and Rosalind has a "cameo".The graphics are greatly improved as well. Nothing like FFX, but a big leap from the first Summoner.
I noticed Summoner 2 has the same annoying tick as the first game. You get to an exit, then can't leave because a party member is trapped in some far-off room you left ages ago!I'm looking forward to a Summoner 3, and hopefully this will be corrected by then! I really liked the characters being "interviewed"!That's original!
I just wish the game had been longer!Example:if you played Legend of Dragoon for 2 weeks, perhaps you made it to the 2nd disc by then.Play this game for 2 weeks and you'll complete it!

Summoner 2 keeps all that was good in its predecessor and far surpasses it. On a purely technical level, the load times between scenes are faster, camera angles are consistently more flexible in the 3-D environment, and the battle reactions are cleaner and more responsive. But it's the story that's really blossomed. The swashbuckling goddess-queen Maia is more likable than dour Joseph from the first Summoner. (Her various outfits and weapons sure are cooler, at least.) There's more humor in the story, and it manages to strike its serious notes without sounding ridiculously overdramatic. The voice actors sound like they're really enjoying their roles too, and it was fun (for a change) to listen to the spoken sections. The storyline moves you along smoothly, and the bosses, while tricky, never seem insurmountable. Rather than just some big fight at the end, the goal of Summoner 2 seems to be to help Maia seek her destiny while being the most adored and accomplished--plus best outfitted--queen-goddess-swordsperson she can be. --Garland Withers

Many long stretches that must be traversed again and again

(More customer reviews)If you like hack & slash dungeon crawling games like Diablo, then you'll like this game. It is the first game of this style for the Playstation 2.
In this game, you play as one of three characters. You will be given quests by other people and creatures. These quests take you thru dungeons, sewers, caves, castles, woods, and mountain paths and usually involve killing a boss enemy or finding specific objects. Along the way, you must kill (or run from) enemies while picking up items (dropped by enemies, found in treasure chests, barrels, etc.) that may be useful to you or that may be sold. Fighting is in real-time (not turn-based as in Final Fantasy). As you complete quests and kill enemies, you gain experience. This experience allows you the change your character's attributes and learn new skills/spells. There are numerous types of weapons and armor to be bought or found during the game. As the enemies in the game get tougher, your experience and improved weapons/armor allow you to still put up a good fight.
The graphics and audio are amazing. The movement of water as you walk thru it and the movement of the leaves on trees as the wind blows shows the level of graphic detail that they gave the game. Also, the detail on many of the creatures in the game is outstanding. Voices and music are great. As you walk thru the woods, you hear coyotes howling in the distance. As you walk on the mountain path, you hear chunks of ice falling in the distance. Controls are simple and intuitive. Every button on the controller may be used during a game, but you'll find yourself using them like a pro in just a matter of minutes. I really like that fact that my character can change between a melee weapon (such as a sword) and a range weapon (such as a bow) during battle with the simple push of a button.
Gameplay is great and is almost identical to that of Diablo II. Unfortunately, the game is too short. Your saved games tell you how long you've been playing. On the Easy difficulty setting, I completed the game in about 12 hours. However, if you enjoy the game, you'll probably want to play each of the three characters and take at least one of your characters thru the three difficultly levels. Completing the game opens up something called the gauntlet where you have 15 minutes and one life to defeat all the various types of creatures (not too easy). Completing the game also opens up an Extreme difficulty level. Completing the game on the Extreme level opens up a fourth character. Playing a two player game is also a blast. It's just like the one player game, but allows two players to work cooperatively.
Don't let the shortness of the game keep you from trying it. I feel that this is one the best games for the Playstation 2 right now.

(More customer reviews)These types of beat-em up games get alot of flack and criticism because they lack depth and innovation, but sometimes the same old goodness is what's needed.I'm a huge fan of dynasty warriors and I think this game is just another solid addition to that type of play. There's some new variations, but overall its same thing, which isn't always a bad thing. People seem to think that games should just get more and more complicated, thus making them better, but that's not always the case.There's got to be a market for people who just want to mindlessly beat dudes up and not think about much else.

This game is great and I'm totally glad they keep making them.Despite the negative critiques from major internet game sites, there is alot to discover and enjoy in a game like this.You definitely get what you pay for and that doesn't happen much.enjoy.

Dynasty Warriors 6 Review

(More customer reviews)This is a fun game but not altogether the epic I hoped it would be.I like the new characters designs and the different fighting styles and all that. Being able to take on hundreds of people at once and rake up a thousand kills on a regular basis is pretty cool. The graphics are brilliant but, I don't know, it just seems to be missing a lot of the content that Dynasty Warriors 4 had.Not to mention characters.Not only does this game feautre no new Characters but it subtracts from those already existing.Where is Meng Huo?Not in this game.Granted I haven't unlocked every acheivement but still if he was in the game there would be a nanman level or you would see him somewhere. (And why even have a Zhuge Liang Storyline without the nanman campaign?It would be like a Robert E. Lee Story without the battle of Gettysburg.Kinda lame.)

How is it that this game has less characters than the previous version.Generally the series gets more characters as it progresses not fewer.Not only that but of the few that remain, only a handful have musou story modes which is kinda lame(sure it would probably be hard to make storylines and movies for each character but that doesn't mean I have to like it) You can play the less popular characters in free mode but it just isn't the same.I tried creating my own storyline for Yuan Shao by having him play through a bunch of free mode battles but realized I couldn't since the battle of Guan Du only has two sides in this game.Cao Cao's and Lu Bu's. (Lu Bu wtf?How did he get involved in that battle) Speaking of Lu Bu, unlocking him is the only reason to play through half of the musou modes.Some of the charcters aren't as cool as the other, in my opinion.

Getting over the characters, or lack of them, and onto the actual gameplay the game plays well.The new renbu system is interesting once you figue out what it is.Although the same basic attack, charge attack scheme is in play, charge attacks are separtate from your main attacks, meaning that you can't put together any super charge attacks like in previous games.The charge attack looks the same whether you press it first or use it as a follow up to a series of regular attacks.That means that once you get unlimited renbu you don't even need to use the charge attack.You can just hammer on the x button.The charge attack is only really useful for breaking enemies blocks.Speaking of enemies, they are a bipolar lot.On the one hand the regular enemies do almost nothing but stare at you while you hack them to pieces while the officers while hand you your buttchecks.Also certain officers will get angry and then they do tremendous damage, enough to kill you in three or four hits.When they get into this state they glow with a flame.I've come to refer to these powerhouse's as 'flamers'.When you see a deadly flamer you need to save the game unless you want to risk losing all the exp you have gained in the battle.Unlike some of the games in the series you can't save your exp from a failed attempt.Sometimes free mode is the only way to get your chosen hero past a certain point.

Really though, long story short, while I like the game I would have liked it more if more characters were in it.Maybe they will fix this when they come out with Dynasty Warriors 6: Xtreme legends.

(More customer reviews)KOEI is back with yet another Dynasty/Samurai Warrior hackenslash game.This genre is now infamous for its simplistic run around aimlessly killing dumb soldiers until you reach a slightly more difficult to defeat general.The franchise hasn't changed much over the past few years.This is both good and bad.From year to year we are subjected to sequels which are more along the lines of touch up packages.A few added characters, a few added features, and just barely updated graphics.However, recently with there new "Empires" series they seem to be hoping to add an element of strategy to a franchise that as of late has been becoming quite stale.

The game has 2 modes of play.The usual "free" mode which is essentially the pickup and play mode where you select a section of the map then pick your generals and lieutenants (up to 3 of each) then go to battle.Then there's "empire" mode where you become a Japanese feudal lord.You are assigned a fief and from here it is your job to expand your territory.The fun part is that how you do it is up to you.You can use force, diplomacy or trickery as you build your army recruiting new generals, lieutenants, and boosting your number of troops.

During battle you can order your soldiers to protect a base, attack individual bases or generals, and defend another general or even yourself.The best part about this game is that your generals now level up with you and are no longer the sissy's whining for help that they were in the other games.On one occasion my round ended while I was off fighting a rival general my troops had already captured the main camp.Keep in mind that your opponents are no longer slouches either.You'll have to work a little to defeat them as the strength of the characters and AI has been revamped slightly.Formations are used in a rock paper scissors fashion.When they are employed they give you a stat boost however the army using the stronger formation is the only one to receive it.

The game does a good job making you feel like you are in charge of a powerful army.You can trade with China or Western nations; tax the people, train your generals and lieutenants, there are so many options as far as what you can do it would take forever to name them all.
So in summing up this game, SW2 Empires is still an upgrade package.Don't be fooled.It does however improve vastly with a strategy element and AI.So here's a comparison list so that you can make the decision

PROS:
-essentially still running off of the Dynasty warriors engine
-create a character feature
-added strategy element
-slightly tougher AI, your army now fights for themselves
CONS:
-essentially still running off of the Dynasty warriors engine
-not much variety in the battlefield maps

Warlords Battlecry II Review

Warlords Battelcry II was recently damned with faint praise in the pages of Computer Gaming World as "the best realtime strategy game completely ignored by the public." Having now been caught in its grip for weeks, barely coming up for food and sleep, I'd have to agree.
Much of the problem, I think, lies with the game's demo, which gives prospective players no idea how the game actually works (the demo contains the tutorial encompassed within the purchased product to teach you how to do such things as move and build, but doesn't get into the game's strategy aspect-- which is what makes it so engrossing), and to top it off must be run with the game's most annoying character, the barbarian hero. After finding myself totally hooked on Warlords Battlecry for a few weeks after getting it free(!) from Computer Gaming World last year, I downloaded the WBC2 demo. About three minutes into it, I remember having downloaded it just after its release and finding it eminently forgettable; the strength of the first game caused me to pick up a cheap copy of this one when I found it at Half Price Books. It's the best videogame investment I've made since getting my hands on a copy of Lords of Magic back in 1997.
Twelve different races with a bunch more class/specialty combinations, loads of hero customizing, the occasional random map, and your ability (within limits) to define the strengths and weaknesses of your whole army as you go along make the game almost endlessly replayable You're liable to lose your first few heroes fast and furious when you start out, but once you get the hang of playing any given side (and the strategies for best using each are radically different from side to side, for various reasons), you can stop concentrating on just keeping your skull in one piece and start working on the more subtle aspects of offing the other guy before he overruns you.
Wonderful, and highly recommended. ****

Chaos Legion Review

(More customer reviews)I read lots of bad reviews of this game and was all set to forget about it rather than buy it. Then one day I read a Penny Arcade comic in which they declared that Gabe hated Chaos Legion. Well, if there's one thing I've learned from my years of reading PA, it's that if Gabe hates something, it's probably pretty good. He hated Kingdom Hearts, Gunvalkyrie, and most notably, Halo. The man is obviously not a bastion of good video game taste. Therefore, when he hates something, I assume it's worth buying. And so I went ahead and bought Chaos Legion.
At first I was inclined to agree with the reviews. My first couple of hours playing seemed to indicate a shallow and repetive game. I was expecting more of an adventure game with some exploration and such. There is none. CL is actually something of an arcade style beat-'em-up for the 21st century. You fight wave after wave of baddies. When they're gone, you fight a boss. Lather, rinse, repeat. However, the game became pretty difficult suddenly on stage 3 or 4, and I almost threw in the towel. For some reason, instead I decided to study the aspects of the game that I hadn't really been paying attention to; namely the Legions themselves. The legions are what make this game shine. Each one has their own strengths and weaknesses and abilities. You have to use them to strengthen them, you have to strengthen them to make them useful, and you WILL need their help to beat the game. The more they do battle, the more experience points they earn. You then get to choose how to spend those points to build them up. You can increase their attack power, their defense, their special abilities, etc. Learning how to use them effectively is the key to the game. Poor Gabe must not have been able to figure that out.

(More customer reviews)Finally, after years of waiting, the Ys series has come back to the US.Before I jump into the gameplay, let me state that if you like the anime, youll love the game...plain and simple.As far as gameplay goes, the control is flawless.While there is some backtracking, for the most part this game is straight forward, story driven, hack and slash action.While leveling up (mainly the swords) can be a real chore, the hack and slash battles are so much fun that its easy to ignore the time it takes to level up.The games music is excellent and I can honestly say that this is the first game in quite some time that Id like to own the soundtrack for.Each song is well orchestrated and fits smoothly into its portion of the game.The story, while not the best story ever told, is interesting enough to keep you playing all the way through.The character development is phenomenal, with numerous characters growing more and more important to the story as the game progresses.As far as graphics go, they fit this game perfectly.Sure they are not the jaw dropping graphics of some of the other Action games and Rpgs of the big name consoles (ex. Ninja Gaiden, Final Fantasy X, DMC3, Tales of Symphonia), but they grow on you rather quickly.Overall, this game is defintely a must own.However, due to this series not having a huge following here in the states, it is sure to get EXTREMELY RARE.My EB only had 3 copies and thats all they plan on getting!Buy it now before its too late!

Gauntlet: Dark Legacy Review

(More customer reviews)Gauntlet: Dark Legacy is yet another in a long line of fantastic games. I admit it, I was a HUGE addict of the original Gauntlet, with the Green Archer Needs Food Badly. When Gauntlet came out for the Nintendo, I bought it immediately and played it non stop for hours and hours. I came across G:DL when it was first released and without examining the box much at all, it was MINE. Let me tell you, I was NOT disappointed!
This is the first game we played with more than two people on our Playstation 2 - we bought the MultiTap explicitly for this game. It's a blast! And the improvements are astounding. First off, you get up to eight main characters. I have always loved the archer, but I play the others at times too. As you move them up levels, their appearance changes, they get cool familiars, their spells get more powerful, they learn new abilities, they get to heal, and much more.
The levels are both familiar and fascinating. Just wait until you get into the Jester's world! The Escher-like levels are phenomonally fun. Someone really had a good mastery of space to develop those worlds. The other graphics are equally as interesting. The music and monsters all fit well with the worlds.
It's not just hack and slash. There are a lot of puzzles, a lot of what-do-you-use-keys-on, a lot of mazes and memory and combinations involved. There are even hidden characters, additional SECRET characters and other hidden things that it's taken a ton of replaying to get a walkthrough written. The same is completely replayable and is a perfect friends-for-the-afternoon kind of game.
I enthusiastically recommend this to anyone who enjoys a good arcade game!

Musashi Samurai Legend Review

(More customer reviews)This is definately a hack and slash game, meaning you have numerous enemies that you rapidly mash the button to defeat. Not that much strategy in the actual battle, although Musashi's duplication techinique may require some strategic timing, and can prove to be a bit frustrating at times.
The story is that a young man named Musashi from Earth's Japan, who will grow to be Miyamoto Musashi, is summoned to another world by Princess Mycella to aid in the battle against Gandrake Interprises. He's taken in by Master Mew and is trained in swordsmanship and battle. When Princess Mycella is kidnapped for Gandrake's own purposes, it's up to Musashi to rescue her and bring down the evil corporation so that he can return to his own world.
I personally adored this game because of the graphics and gameplay. The gameplay is similar to Fullmetal Alchemist and the Broken Angel's gameplay, and that's probably because both were Square Enix games. A lot of the square button mashing, and not so much of the "Slash, defend, slash, defend, backflip over the weapon, and a slash to finish it" stuff. The graphics are cel shading, which I find to be pretty darned cool when Musashi's doing his slashing thing.
Overall this really is a game worth getting because of the storyline, the characters, the gameplay, and the graphics. I must also say that the music done by "The Surf Coasters" was very cool, making it worth also gettting the soundtrack. Of course... the guidebook is also always a help in getting all the items and saving everyone also.

Warriors Orochi 2 Review

(More customer reviews)I like Warriors Orochi(here now abbreviated WO), and when a sequel... an ACTUAL sequel, was expected to show in the states, I had to bide my time. Now released, this game is a solid story carry-over. Listen up.

PROS:
+Soul Caliberesque Fighting mode, A Versus mode, a special character-specific Dream mode, and a much larger artwork and character gallery.
+Warrior's Orochi 2 shoots directly from the prequel. If you have previous data from the first, all the first abilities of EVERY character will be unlocked.
+Horses are SIGNIFICANTLY faster and actually make or break a rescue.
+Great for low self-esteem folks as your friendly commanders can't seem to stop praising how awesome and powerful you are =P
+Much more fluid and refined motions for all units.
+NEW COSTUMES to unlock during character advancement
+More aggressive A.I. and friendly officers can hold their own in a 1-on-1.
+More weapon customization. You locate treasure by adhering to specific battle requirements and combine them with spare weapons to create benefits to character abilities(like True Musou, One-time revival upon death, use of special abilities without restrictions).
+More story-driven chaos and Orochi's own reconquest story-line.

CONS:The bad could be set aside as trivial but some I note are:
-An occasional slow-down due the sheer number of enemies.
-Too much talking about achievements slow down in game sequences.
-Leaders in groups of 5, look the same, and thus cannot be made to retreat so hastily.
-You will be saving your officers many times due to the A.I. picking out your weaker and smaller armies. They will gang up on anyone for an advantage.
-You will need your horse more than you know.

The cons aren't really cons. More like warnings when you play, Warrior's Orochi 2 has actually different warfare than WO1. You will see many archers for instance, and peons will use charge attacks in turns.

This game is so good. I can't recommend enough if you played the first Warriors Orochi. An actual story that is continued from the prequel... its about time!

Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance II Review

(More customer reviews)I adored Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance, so when the sequel came out, we immediately snatched it up and raced home to see how much better they made the game.

While I wouldn't rate it better then the first one, there are some big positives that I'll share first. One of them is the ability to tweak armor and weapons, customizing them to do different things and help out in various ways. You may still find awesome treasure on your adventures, but with this feature, you don't have to rely on pure chance anymore! A two-player game is advantageous for this feature, since you can use either the dwarf or the necromancer to drive the price down on the item creation (otherwise, you are somewhat limited with the amount of gold you have).

You get more characters that you get to play with-- who all have unique abilities and feats. My fiance and I play together usually; and we tend to use fighter and spellcaster combinations. It seems to work well for us. For each character, there is a special quest that they must go on-- which helps keep the main story fresh as you go on the specialized side quests. After completing each quest, you get some nice abilities added into your list. While some might feel that it makes the playing a little confusing, we found it gave us some options to go on, as well as some nice gains in XP as opposed to following one thread.

Now for the bad: Unfortunately, the main arc of the story felt like a retread from the first. Oh look! Spiders! Ho hum.... A maze we have to work through! The side quests for the individual characters did help, but it wasn't enough to change the whole. The three characters from the first game are there, but there's very limited interaction with them.

But on the whole, this was a very enjoyable game, and we liked to play the different characters. The graphics are like the first-- superb and much better then a good portion of RPGs out. So I would recommend this to any fantasy RPG player who has a Playstation 2. Or an XBox. Or any type of equipment to play this game!Have fun, and remember: Rune stones are your friend!

Pirates of the Caribbean The Legend of Jack Sparrow Review

(More customer reviews)There are a few sections in this game with annoying glitches.Some controls are a bit tricky to get a hang of and don't always work the first time around.You have to be positioned just so to make some of them work.I'm talking about environmental controls, such as opening chests, turning cranks, etc.The fighting controls couldn't be clearer, and add a lot to the game.It makes it seem like not just a hack-your-way-through-it kind of thing, because you get some good moves to work with (including one where you knee your enemies in a very sensitive spot, which is one we just never play in front of our young son because we don't want to give him ideas!).When Jack gets his bombs and Will Turner and Elizabeth Swann get their hatchets, it's even more fun.Every now and then, and I haven't figured this out, but there's a fish barrel to reload hatchets so that Will and Elizabeth are throwing fish instead of hatchets, but it does the same damage.I'm sure this was just the video game programmers having some fun.

The game is really a lot of fun!If you loved Pirates of the Caribbean and you like video games for their stories and for the fun of playing them instead of for a lot of blood, guts, and sex, you'll really enjoy this game.(In case that wasn't clear, there is no blood, guts, or sex in this game.)

I played for a while before I allowed my son to see the game.After I approved, he and my husband played for quite a long time and had a lot of fun with it.Now I have to sneak to get my play time!

The basic idea of the game is Jack Sparrow telling the events of Pirates of the Caribbean from his own point of view (with some embellishments, of course).In some instances, the other characters even comment on it."I wasn't here!"And my favorite one, when Will Turner started speaking a bunch of lines that were obviously Jack Sparrow kind of talk, and he stopped and said, "What is this you have me saying?"

So this game covers not just the movie, but extra things as well.You get to go to China (by the way: do NOT play the dragon chase scene in co-op mode... we only beat it when we did it single player), fight a pirate called Black Smoke James, and many other fun little extras.

I wish this game had a three player co-op mode!We love video games that make us laugh, and this one definitely does do that.

Champions Return to Arms Review

(More customer reviews)I've been enjoying good old hack-and-slash computer and video games since the days of the original Diablo.Therefore, when I read the reviews of Champions: Return to Arms, and saw that previous reviewers had noted on the redundancy of this game, I figured that after a while, any hack-and-slash saga could get old.There's only so much killing and looting one can do before the plot gets boring.Therefore, I went out and bought the game anyway under the impression that Return to Arms would at least elaborate on the plot in Champions of Norrath.I was wrong.

This game is extremely redundant.Aside from the two new player classes, the player characters are all the same.Exactly the same.No elaboration from the previous game whatsoever.I suppose this makes it easier to import your characters from Champions of Norrath, but it would have been nice to see some kind of elaboration in this department.Furthermore, many of the "bad guys" you fight are the same as in the previous game.Many of the characters you met in Champions of Norrath return.For example, Babik Nurn makes an appearance.Many of the locales are the same.You will again visit the gothic vampire castle, as well as the Pit of Ill Omen.Some of the quests are even familiar.Once again, the mermaid has lost her conch shell and would like you to find it for her.After you do this, you again are granted the ability to breathe underwater so you can fight some undead pirate skeletons.What does all of this add up to?The feeling that you just paid a bunch of money to play the Champions of Norrath all over again.

In addition, as with Champions of Norrath, the game seems to have several bugs.I've had the game freeze on me, and the screen seems to bounce around every time you're looking through your character's inventory.These are some minor technicalities that one might think would have been worked out after the several complaints that arose regarding the original game, however, that doesn't seem to be the case.

However, this isn't to say that the game is all bad.As I stated previously, I'm one to enjoy a decent hack-and-slash game, so I pushed onward and completed it in it's entirety.Any fan of the Dungeons and Dragons type RPG should find some decent entertainment value in Return to Arms, regardless of the aforementioned pitfalls.In addition, as with Champions of Norrath and both Baldur's Gate games, the graphics are incredible.I have yet to see video games as visually stunning as the stuff Snowblind puts out.It feels as though your characters are walking around in a diorama rather than on your television screen.

I've never tried the online play, in this or in any other game for that matter, so I can't comment on that.However, the rest of the game makes for hours of good fun if you don't mind a little bit of repetition.It's still worth buying, just don't expect anything too terribly ground-breaking.
