Sega Dreamcast Keyboard Review

Sega Dreamcast Keyboard
Average Reviews:

This Sega Dreamcast Keyboard makes the old way of browsing the web through the Sega Dreamcast with the "virtual keyboard" obsolete. This keyboard makes it much easier to send e-mail, type in URLs, or even chatwith some friends online. Many helpful features have been added with thisSega Dreamcast Keyboard. Along with the standard look of keyboards manyspecial keys have been added that allow you to type in commonly used"web words" such as www.,.com,http://, and many others. I highlyreccomend this Sega Dreamcast Keyboard if you plan to go online with yourSega Dreamcast as it makes it a much more exciting and quicker experience.

Sorry but i couldn't imagine playing a fishing game with the regular controler, especially when their is a fishing controller, it adds to the fun of the game. The realistic of the controller is unbelievable! It doesn't detect the movement left or right but then you use your thumb on the top d-stick.For those of you on a tight budget it might be best towait and see if another game comes out before you get it.

Sega Dreamcast Controller Review

Sega Dreamcast Controller

I love this controller. The buttons are all easy to reach. It only takes a split second to switch from the d-pad to the joystick. The triggers are at just the right spot, easy to use but hard to accidently hit.The startbutton is just a little hard to reach, but when you push the start buttonyou usually intend to sit the controller down anyways. The problem is thecord comes out of the bottom, not the top. This feels very akward to me. I am aware that there is the little notch to put the cord in, but why putit there when it would have been just as easy to put the cord where thenotch is.But, the 2 easy to use slots for a memory card and a jump packat the same time is great. This controller is light, durable, and easy touse. As for extra controllers, you only need to buy one, if any.I haveyet to find a game that is compatible for more that 2 players.Butoverall, the controller has to be the best yet.

Seaman with Microphone Review

Seaman with Microphone
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Seaman is not a game. It is difficult to define just what type of program it is, but it is not a game. It is akin to a system simulation, but it alsoincorporates some advanced Artificial Intelligence as well as voicerecognition.
The result is something like a virtual pet, one that isquite smart and entertaining. But it will take quite a bit of patience onthe part of the user to enjoy Seaman to it's fullest. The simulationproceeds at a pace that is determined by the Seaman program, not by theuser. And many users will get quite frustrated with this aspect ofSeaman.
This program is experimental in several ways. Firstly, it iseducational as a biological system simulation. However, part of thesimulation is over simplified, and is based on a series of experiments by afictional scientist in the 1930s. This story is explained in detail by theprogram narrator (Leonard Nimoy) and the manual. There is even an extensivewebsite dedicated to the background story. Still, it can teach the basicsof semi-closed and managed ecosystems.
It is also experimental in thatthe AI can be very entertaining and surprising, as long as the user has thepatience to care for the Seaman in the beginning when things can get quiteboring. This part of the Seaman program will really get inside of manypeople's heads, like it did mine. You will find yourself thinking of Seamanoften even when you are not actually playing the simulation.
And, Seamanis also experimental in that the entire concept is new and different fromanything that has ever appeared on a game console before. The very idea isunexplored territory for the video game market, and could possibly ignitean entire line of AI/Voice Recognition based 'games'. Seaman is wildlypopular in Japan, where it has been available for a year or so. Given thetype of program that Seaman is, it needs to be stated that the conversionof Seaman from Japanese to English must have been a monumental effort.
You rear and care for your Seaman via the Dreamcast controller, and youcommunicate with him via the included microphone, which plugs into thesecond VMU socket on the controller. In addition, you will need a dedicatedVMU for Seaman. It needs to be stated that the less expensive third partyVMUs are not satisfactory for use with Seaman. This is because essentialfeedback is conveyed to the user via the LCD display on the Sega VMU, andnot on the TV screen. Also, the manual alludes to the future need foradditional VMUs as the Seaman 'evolves'. Two Sega Dreamcast VMUs can beattached to each other, allowing for data exchange, and this may benecessary for Seaman's continued growth.
Seaman does not lend itself tohours of extended gameplay. The Seaman will let you know when your sessionsare over, and the sessions can be quite short. I tend to my Seaman (hisname is Shadrach) twice a day, once in the morning for about fifteenminutes or so and once in the evening. The evening sessions have lasted aslong as an hour or more. Seaman has to be fed regularly and hisenvironmental needs have to be attended to or he will die, and you willhave to start the simulation over from the beginning.
Seaman learns fromyour interaction with him. The more you talk with him, the more he picks upon various aspects of your life. Seaman can be quite talkative at times. And he can be very rude and surly. You may want to think twice beforebringing your Seaman up when company is around. Seaman regulary asks fairlypersonal questions, and will surprise you with his insights regarding yourlife (as you've described it to him) and remembers what you tell him quitewell. Seaman also defecates and passes gas often, and is quite proud of hisefforts, voicing the impending self-relief to everyone within earshot. Sobe advised.
With multiple VMUs, it is possible to have more than onesimulation, so a Seaman provided with bogus personal information for one ofthem would be a real hit at a social gathering. The Seaman voicerecognition is not capable of discerning individual voices, and he willhappily converse with anyone who talks to him.
At first, I thought thevoice recognition software was seriously flawed. But the Seaman, in hisearlier stages, simply has not learned enough to comprehend much of whatyou say to him and cannot respond. Seaman comes with a limited amount ofpre-defined reactions. As time passes, each Seaman develops his own uniquepersonality, and his language and comprehension skills conform to you, yourway of thinking, and your use of grammar. And he will ignore you less andless over time.
Seaman is not for everyone. But if you are anexperimental, patient type of individual and willing to trod new andunexplored territory, then Seaman may be for you. Be prepared, however, forhe really does get inside your head.

Sega Dreamcast DC VGA Box w/ S-Video & RCA Review

Sega Dreamcast DC VGA Box w/ S-Video & RCA
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
In the hierarchy of Dreamcast hookups, this is the king of the hill.Basically, the worst picture available is with an RFU adaptor, the next step up is the standard composite video cables supplied with the Dreamcast, much better than that would be an S-video cable (which you can use with this box as well), and a step up from even the incredible looking S-Video cable is this VGA box. This box will let you hook up your Dreamcast to a computer monitor _or_ if your HDTV has a "PC In" or VGA port, to your high def TV.And I've got mine hooked up that way to a 44" TV.When I first hooked it up, I must confess, it didn't completely blow me away. But when I compared to what I'd been using by going back a step (S-Video, which looks really great as is), there was no comparison, VGA is much more crisp and strong.Really, when you've got this hooked up, Dreamcast games look better than PS2 and Xbox games, only second to truly high-def Xbox 360 and PS3 games.

A couple of notes:
Don't overpay - this box goes for between $20 and $30 if you watch and wait; don't lose your mind and pay $70.
Also, keep in mind - the box alone does _not_ come with a PC VGA cable, which you'll need.Nor does it come with audio out cords, and what I needed was a splitter from the headphone out jack on the box to go into composite RCA red/white cables, to hook into my stereo tv.You could also get a set of PC speakers and a headphone-type out for the sound. You can find these either on Amazon or at your local electronics shop on the cheap.

If you have played many PC games, you know how much crisper and cleaner the picture quality is. Now imagine high-resolution games like Soul Calibur and Guilty Gear X being displayed on a VGA monitor. It is truly a sight to behold.Basically, the VGA Box has all the features of the regular Dreamcast VGA Cable, but with much more flexibility with the addition of S-Video and Composite (RCA) video output. If you have a game that does not support VGA mode (see the VGA compatibility list), you can with the box to "TV Mode" and switch your TV to the S-Video or Composite input for maximum compatibility.

NFL 2K Review

NFL 2K
Average Reviews:

This game has the best graphics of any sports game I've ever seen, and it's extremely fun to play against a friend one on one. When playing in cold weather, each player's breath can be seen, which is just one of theawesome things you'll see here. A drawback is that you can't play afranchise mode like on Madden 2000, and this is a must now for die-hardfootball gamers.NFL 2K is better than Madden 2000 despite having lessfeatures because it simply feels more real.In Madden 2000, use theinstant replay on pass receptions to see just how comical it looks when apass just drops into a receiver's body without his hands moving, or hiseyes focused on the ball.It looks as though you will not find this typeof blocky and sometimes unrealistic gameplay on the Dreamcast. On NFL 2K,instant replays reveal true one-handed catches, balls going right through areceiver's outstretched hands, and other types of situations that lookreal. The running game in NFL 2K could use a little improvement, butoverall this game is just pure fun and reality for anyone who enjoysplaying football video games.

JSRF- Jet Set Radio Future Review

JSRF- Jet Set Radio Future
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Jet Set Radio Future is the sequel to Jet Grind Radio on the Dreamcast and it is the epitome of a great game.
JSRF is set in 2024.A huge corporation has taken over Tokyo and bought the police. You play the skaters who are taking back the city . . . by tagging just about everything in sight.Okay, so it's not the most sophisticated plot in the world, but this is an amazingly fun game.
The gameplay is pure enjoyment. You pick a skater, then take on various sections of Tokyo, all of which are huge in scope, packed with human and vehicle traffic, and intricately designed. You'll find yourself grinding rails, staircases, power lines, and more. While grinding and skating, you pick up cans of spray paint, then use those cans to tag various buildings, vehicles, etc.Sometimes you are starting from scratch with the graffiti, and other times you are covering the tags of rival gangs.
In addition to tagging and grinding, you will find yourself fighting the corrupt police. You generally will come across the police in specific sections of the level or at the end, once you have completed all your tagging. To defeat the police you have to knock them over then spray paint their white uniforms, leaving them a huffing, puffing, multi-colored mess as they turn tail and run.Trust me--this is great fun.But don't slow down, or else the police will pile on you and drag you down and the chief, Hayashi, will take aim and shoot.(He's a bit crazy, and doesn't like you one bit.)Once your stamina is up, it's game over, so don't let the police drag you down.
In addition to the cops, you'll find yourself racing with fellow skaters to turn them into playable characters and battling with members of rival gangs, which often entails emulating a series of grinds. This is a nice addition to the gameplay and it helps increase the amount of playable characters.
There's so much more to the gameplay.Let me just say this: tanks.Oh yeah, the police want to take you down. And the grinding is not limited to flat surfaces. You can grind UP objects, which adds a nice dimension to gameplay. And believe me, you'll be needing to move up high to find all the tag spots.
The graphics are beautiful. The game sports a graphical technique called cell-shading, and the original Jet Grind Radio is the game that started this much-copied trend. This is also the game that does the technique the best.Cell-shading allows for 3D graphics that have a 2D look, creating something of a cartoon.Except this isn't kiddie stuff--we're talking a much more sophisticated, anime-type design in this game. The graphics scream cool, and you'll never get tired of staring at this game.
The music plays a huge role in the game, and there are about thirty tracks to listen to.The music is top notch, with beats that will stay in your head long after you've turned off your Xbox. The music, like the graphics and game play, is just plain cool.
Jet Set Radio Future is cutting edge, it's furious fun, it's hip and sleek and just flat out cool.Trust me, you will love this game.Buy it.Play it.Learn to love Sega, because they're the company that brought you this blessed work of art.

Floigan Bros. Review

Floigan Bros.
Average Reviews:

The Floigan Brothers is a game that you can't take too seriously or you're just not going to enjoy it.It's hardly anything more than an interactive cartoon and taken that way, it certainly worked for me.The story is mostly ludicrous, the game play is short, and the area of play is small, but still, I enjoyed this game.
In the game, you control Hoigle, who must help his brother Moigle gather the seven parts he needs to complete a secret device he is building in the garage.During the game, you must have Moigle help you access areas that are inaccessible by doing different things, including making him happy, angry, sad, and by playing games with him.
The games you play with Moigle get somewhat repetitive after a while and can slow the game play down.I recommend teaching him to play catch as soon as possible since it's one of the quicker games and pays one of the most amount of points, which Hoigle needs to accumulate to teach Moigle different things. The different games you play with Moigle are High Five, Tag, Hide And Seek, Catch, and the Running Game. The Running Game you can't learn until late in the game and I've never been able to beat Moigle at it, although there must be a way to do so.I guess I just can't figure it out.
As you interact with different things in the junkyard, you'll be able to teach Moigle more skills, although there is one thing I haven't been able to teach him. That's what keeps drawing me back into the game, trying to accomplish the tasks that I haven't been able to solve yet, although I've already beaten the game.Try it for yourself, if you like cartoons, I think you'll like this too.Just don't pay too much for this game, its replay value is fairly low and it shouldn't take much more than six hours or so to beat it.Still though, you should enjoy those six hours.

Power Stone 2 Review

Power Stone 2
Average Reviews:

Four stars is pretty good when I rate a video game, but low and behold, this game is great. This series started off with the silent Power Stone which was a free roaming fighting game with interactive boards. This aint'no classical way to fight like 2D games like Street Fighter or Marvel vs.Capcom, this is the first of its kind, and its pretty [darn] good.
Everything I hated about Power Stone has been fixed and Iam pleasedto say they did a bang up job. To start with the characters would be sillysince the selection is sparse and is not relevant to the whole gamingexperiance. This game soley relies on using your environment to youradvantage. For example, there is a gun turret on the boat, to rid of yourenemies best, hop on the turret and blast them out of the water. Fun and agreat alternative to fighting. In the game, Capcom added a new feature wichallowed you to buy wepons and items in the Item Shop, just like Marvel vs.Capcom with Secret Factor. The levals have been touched up with a newtwist, the environments change. Yes, hard to believe but if your boat isoff course, there is a possibility that it can hit and iceberg and the boatcould sink and you would be forced to climb onto the iceberg. This allhappens and you are still fighting.
This sequal has new characters, new[changing] environments, four-player mayhem, and new wepons and items thatwill make this a worthy game to buy for fans of the original. For those ofyou who have never tried the orginal, give it a whirl. I have two knocks onthis game, one is no network play and two is its confusing with fourplayers. These knocks are minor and so small, it dosent affect the game.Check it out, this is one not to pass up.

Product Description:
There are plenty of 3-D fighting games out on the market, but no others quite as crazy as this. Power Stone 2 chucks the precision attack combos of the Street Fighter-type games in favor of a free-for-all melee that allows characters to walk in and out of the battle and use found objects as weapons. You'll encounter more than 120 items that can serve as weapons, vehicles, traps, and more. Find three Power Stones (or beat them out of an opponent) to temporarily turn into a more strapping, punishing version of yourself and knock inches off your opponents' life meters.

THE CHARACTERS, ARE FOR THE MOST PART, HOVERING HIGH ABOVE THEAIR, DUELING IT OUT USING THEIR ABILITIES,PROJECTILES, SHIELDS, AND THEUSUAL PUNCH & KICK COMBOS. THE CHARACTER DESIGNS ARE MORE OF ANIMEFARE, AND ALTHOUGH THE GRAPHICS ARE NOT ON A PAR WITH NAMCO'S SOUL CALIBUR,IT ADDS DEPTH WITH BRILLIANT COLORS, THE GAMEPLAY IS MUCH CHALLENGING THANSAY, POWER STONE AND MARVEL VS. Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 Review

Marvel Vs. Capcom 2

I was kind of tired of Capcom after all the Street Fighter 2 upgrades. Then came the Versus series featuring Marvel comics heroes and old Cap' favorites. With competitor Mortal Kombat now all but extinct, the fighting game king came back with some truly distinct franchises. Now with titleslike MVSC2, its ok to be psyched about Capcom again. Incredible arcadeperfect action. How does 3-on-3 fighting sound for starts? How about atotal of 56 YESSSSS! 56 total unlockable fighters? You get Capcoms finestcharacters from all its most popular series. You get X-Men heroes spanningdecades of Marvel history. One would think a 2D fighter with 3D backgroundswould sound odd, but the result is stunning. The soundtracks are the bestever from the "don't feel bad" at the continue screen to the laidback jazz number during the ending,a welcome trip after all the buttonsmashing. The action is furious and eye-gratifying. You can have yourteammates join you for psychedelic- hundred-hit-combos,(even Bruce Leewould have a hard time not flinching). The control system is familiar yeteasier than past Vs. games. The infinite line-ups you can create will giveyou loads of replay time, along with the other options such as the characterbuilding options and limited internet challenges. This is by far the bestfrom the Cap-"www.KO."-com, and triples for the VS. series whatStreet Fighter Alpha 3 did for the Alpha series. Oh, not into fighters?"Rookie"-woolfie. Not into Capcom? "You must be out your mind,Ryu's the greatest fighter who never lived. That'll be $8."

IF you arealready acquainted with the system, than anyone who likes boxing shouldLoVe this game. This game is hours of fun to play. While playing the computer is endless amounts of fun, playing other players is amazing. To the novice player, it may seem that the game is based completely on screen filling super fireballs or attacks that are "cheap." The real fun of the game, however, is it takes a little bit of skill and a little bit of practice. Ifyou could beat anyone at SF2 just using a combination of fireballs anduppercuts, you are out of luck. This game requires that the player blocks, uses his super moves and characters strategically, and takes full advantageof combos. Only weak players who get frustrated at a game they don'tunderstand will find this game boring.

This game rocks. It's simple and addictive. It's not like those other Final Fight clones, (a.k.a. Dynamite Cop, Zombie Revenge, Fighting Force, etc.)where you lose intrest fast. This game is longer then the others andis much deeper in play. The gameplay is purely hard-core... just perfectlyaddictive. It's the type of game where you forget about the story and justwant to hack and slash your way through. On the other hand... The story isso beautiful. It makes me want to forget the gameplay. Not only are thegameplay and story good but the sound is too. It drives me nuts. The voiceacting, swords swinging, and blood squirting makes it sound sweet. Now someof you might have douts about this game because of the recent Final Fightclones.... Well forget them... This game rocks this world! The onlydrawback is that about half of the gameplay makes me want to hurl. There isjust toooooooooooooooooooooooooo much blood and gore. So if your a guy wholikes a good story, great gameplay, excellent sound, and a whole ocean ofblood.... THEN BUY THIS GAME NOW!

Street Fighter III Double Impact Review

Street Fighter III Double Impact
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Street Fighter III and its sequel, Second Impact, were the last Capcom fighters I genuinely got hooked onto, before the hyperactive,button-mashing "Vs." series took over and I lost interest (movingon to Tekken and Soul Calibur). But this was way back around 1997, and I'dbeen waiting for SFIII to get a proper home-console release eversince.
Suffice to say this was, aesthetically and mechanically, a verywell-designed game.Moving away from the Alpha and Vs. series, airblocking has been eliminated, replaced with a much more skill-orientedoption, the parry, which requires very good timing and reflexes to pulloff. The parry option makes the battles much more uncertain -- in onetournament one player has been known to turn the tide by parrying 14 hitsof the opponent's super art move, and then retaliating. The new style ofdrawing, which is more like U.S. comic books (contrasty, shadowy, distinctlines) than manga (the animation style of the Alpha series), is very niceto look at, and controls were some of the tightest in Street Fighterhistory. And the game is well balanced -- there's no overpowered characterlike Wolverine or Ryu in Marvel Super Heroes, or Adon in Alpha 3, whichmeans that skill counts for more than button-mashing or endless air combos. I once lost a game using Ken against a master at Hugo, one of the"alternative" characters, but I also routinely beat Ryu fanaticswith Sean (weaker version of Ryu and Ken), so there aren't any noveltycharacters like Dan or Juni (Alpha 3) here.Every character is equippedwith strengths and weaknesses that don't tip the handicap drastically.Soeven after three years, I still love this short-lived but well-designedseries, and its appearance on a home console was long overdue.

Product Description:
There had been fighting games before Street Fighter(remember Karate Champ?), but not in the way we think of themtoday. In fact, few would remember Street Fighter had it notbeen for the technological improvements of Street Fighter 2,whose graphics and handling brought into the spotlight a game of pairedfighters leveraging muscle, mass, and forces of nature in amano a mano battle for supremacy. The series owes its successnot only to the fact that outcomes ofeach fight rest on the growing abilities of players, but also because it breaks the video-game stereotype that commonly links size to strength--isn't it refreshing to see a small character like Chun Li take down a big oaf like Blanka? Also, this veteranseries benefits from regular infusions of new blood; it features an ever-expanding cast of characters, each with different origins, fighting styles, strengths, and weaknesses.
With Street Fighter 3: Double Impact, you gettwo full coin-op games built into one Dreamcast disc: Street Fighter 3: New Generation and Street Fighter 3: Second Impact. New Generation features returning vets Ken and Ryu and introduces us to a new group that includes a toughNew Yorker avenging his defeated martial arts instructor; twin Chinese kung fu masters; a sophisticated Afro-British boxer; a teen-aged female ninja from Japan; a daughter of an African tribal leader; a Rus sian cyberpunk; a Brazilian student; and Oro, a 140-year-old hermit who fights with only one arm. Second Impact sees that ante and raises it with three additional characters. The games allow players to deflect oncoming attacks with a technique called parrying;players can also customize characters with one of three different Super Art moves before each fight begins.

Ever wanted to drive 90 miles an hour through traffic? Now you can.Crazy taxi is a hilarious, fast-paced, extremely fun driving game. The scenario is perfect and guaranteed to create suspense and to cause big laughs. For example, there are a series of challenge games that pit you against a course or a set of obstacles. My children laugh uproariously when I miss a jump and fall down into the depths of the ocean. The main game is full of little details and surprises. The game goes so quickly that you hardly have time to look around the amazingly realistic city you are working in as a taxi driver. One way to limit the inevitable boredom that comes with mastering a game is to start concentrating on exploring the virtual world. Also, there are options for making the game more difficult.Unlike a race game where you are stuck to the course, this game lets you drive on roofs, through train tunnels and even under the water. There's a sort of guilty joy that comes with driving through the mall in the wake of screaming pedestrians.
This last bit of fun is part of the reason that I don't recommend the game for children and why it is rated Teen. This game does not model thoughtful, defensive driving!Parents should know that some of the characters use mild curse words and say "unsupportive things."Also, the "F" word can be heard on the soundtrack in at least one of the songs. And, I'm sure you're child would hear the song enough times to start to be able to pick out the words. You can turn off the music and the game is just as fun.I think the hard driving music does add an appropriate element of "crazy" to crazy taxi.I recommend Crazy Taxi very highly!
