(More customer reviews)FFXI on PS2. It's the same FFXI you'll find on the PC or the 360. This is the original. It's the only true MMO on PS2 (Phantasy Star doesn't count, you can play it offline.), and you play on the same servers as PC and 360 players, AND you play with people worldwide. There's an auto-translator function that allows you to communicate with players who speak different languages, and while it's far from perfect it's solid enough to game with. Unfortunately this product is the only one with the HDD unit you need to play FFXI on PS2, but only comes with the Rise of the Zilart expansion. I would highly recommend buying this in tandem with Final Fantasy XI: The Vana'diel Collection 2008 and the PlayStation 2X Network Adaptor if you don't already have it. The latter is the other piece of hardware required to play FFXI on PS2, while the former will hook you up with the three expansions that came out later on (Final Fantasy XI Chains of Promathia Expansion Pack, Final Fantasy XI Treasures Ahi Urhgan Expansion Pack, and Final Fantasy XI: Wings of the Goddess Expansion Pack) for a much better price.
All in all this game is a better buy than anything else on PS2 for the RPG fan- You get more gaming hours for your buck than anything else out there.
