(More customer reviews)I bought this product on sale for $42 USD Before tax. That price bought me the 3 main games (the original prophecies, factions and nightfall) as well as the "Eye of the North" Expansion that apparently will have expandable / earnable content for Guild Wars 2 when it comes out.

The graphics are realistic and beautiful. They run easily on a mid-range computer. The gameplay is comprehensive and levelling system based on the premise that you don't want to have to play the game forever before getting into it (ie: max lvl 20). You have the option of jumping into the game and developping your character in a roleplaying scenario before moving onto PvP mode, or can create a lvl20 character specifically for PvP right away. This gives the player a lot of freedom to build different characters and try many combinations of professions without having to spend HOURS levelling those characters up. As well, the freedom to train and untrain skills and move your attribute pts around at will gives you the ability to specialize your character for whatever you wish and the peace of mind to know that you can redesign without recreating.

The little drawback this game does have is offset by the fact that you only have your initial purchase price and NO ONLINE FEES. This MMORPG is free to play online and I highly advise it to anyone who enjoys these types of games but disagrees with paying a montly subscription fee on top of your initial purchase price to do so.

I very much enjoy this game and recommend it.

(More customer reviews)This is the first mousepad i've ever owned that cost more than $8 and it is well worth it. i use it with a logitech g9 mouse and it is very nice. i thought i'd be using the speed side of this pad but i have come to find that my mouse feels much smoother on the control side and is also quieter. some have said that this is big, really big. yeah i guess so, but i have a relatively compact corner desk and it still fits just perfectly on it. i don't use the included wrist pad. i hate those things. i threw this one on the floor and now my cat likes to sit on it so it serves a purpose elsewhere. overall, this is very nice and seems to be built very tough. get it.

Phantasy Star IV Review

(More customer reviews)Phantasy Star IV is a perfect example of an old-school RPG.It is one of the two greats for the Genesis, in my opinion (the other being Shining Force II).The entire series is one of the best ever made (I find it necessary to mention, or course, that Phantasy Star III is not very good, as it was made by a different company).I would really like to see a new one for one of the next generation systems (Phantasy Star Online doesn't really count).
Phantasy Star IV is a classic.It has the standard combat system, with you and the enemies on opposite sides, with attacks, special skills, and techniques which you can perform.It is still a lot of fun, though.It has a high level of random encounters, but it is necessary to fight a lot, and do a lot of leveling-up, to be powerful enough to fight the bosses.
The characters are a lot of fun, and are surprisingly well developed throughout the game.They are basically the standard Anime style fare, but of course, all have their own traits.Phantasy Star has okay graphics, but they are kind of strange.It also has the absolute best Genesis game soundtrack ever made.
Phantasy Star IV has really cool comic book style cut scenes accompanied by well written dialogue and plot.The cut scenes, to say the least, are revolutionary, and they type of thing which really puts this over the top of almost every other old-school RPG I know of.Without them, it just wouldn't be the same game.
The storyline is fairly standard, as you are a group of heroes trying to stop the evil "Dark Force".Within this set-up, it does a really good job of creating an interesting plot.I found myself entertained by it.For one, Phantasy Star IV does have one of the most sad parts ever.I was sad, at least.
Anyway, Phantasy Star IV was a great game, and for a Genesis game is fairly long, maybe 30 or 40 hours (I didn't really keep track).It is one of my all-time favorites.If you have a Genesis and some extra cash, pick this one up.

(More customer reviews)Some video games have ninjas, other games have knights in shiney armor, and others have guys riding around on hover-boards.Kid Chameleon has all three; as well as a fly, a tornado maker, a ray-gun enthusiast, a rhino, and probably some other things I'm forgetting.The levels are seemingly never-ending and the graphings are good becasue, well, they are like nothing else...as is this game.This game was great, I remember not giving a care about whether I beat it or not, because I had so much fun playing it. The Kid traveled in between layers that seemed to never end. One second you'd be in a metropolis city, the next you'd be on an island paradise, seconds later you'd be warped to the depths of hell.Kid Chameleon is a fine game indeed. It has what many of the modern games lack -- genuine imagination.Kid Chameleon was and is to this day a gem. Quite possibly the finest game ever made.

Lost Vikings 2 Review

Each character has different abilities and you must use them together to get through underground maze-like levels. The learning curve is reasonable, so you'll be challenged without getting stuck on the first level. Gameplay is innovative, the characters are unique, and new elements being constantly introduced keep it from getting repetive. Buy this game! I guarentee you will become addicted to this game.

PlayStation 2X Network Adaptor Review

(More customer reviews)Well so far the network adaptor is a great investment. I've already been playing Madden and SOCOM online for 2 weeks and everything has worked practically flawlessly. There have been some server issues with SOCOM(great game btw) initially, but they have since been ironed out for the most part. With Madden, I've tested both BB and 56k(my cousin has 56k only)and BB seems to be lag free for the most part in my area, but 56k chugged a bit in Madden at my cousin's house using his network adaptor, but remained playable. Setting up the Adaptor itself was pretty easy...probably took me no more than 5 minutes to install it and get up and running online. I'm sure it won't be that easy for everyone out there, but it was for me. The step by step interface was quite clean and easy to navigate and pretty helpful. There is also a little video to help you in case you're having difficulty. You'll also need just 137kb of free space on your memory card to save all your network settings. All in all, I'm quite happy with my experience so far. The adaptor was easy to setup, and comeswith two playable demos, Madden2003 online and Frequency online and also a few video only demos of THPS4, Automodelista and a couple others. And all these games are free to play online. No subscription fee's or the like, whch is the best part about it.You can play Tony Hawk 4, Madden 2003, SOCOM, ATV 2, NFL2k3, NBA2k3, Tribes, Twisted metal Black online on your PS2, all day for free. So, if you can find one, I recommend picking one up, espsecially broadband users. And to name some exiting upcoming online titles inlude Syphon Filter, Gran Turismo 4, DestructionDerby 3, Madden 2004, NBA2k4, NFL2k4, Automodellista, Final Fantasy XI, BiohazardOnline, to name a few. PS: You might see something that looks like an orange sparkin the front of the console near the vents when putting on the console. Don't worry, that is just an Orange LED that lights up when the adaptor is accessed. I never knew there was an orange LED in the front, so I was taken a back at first)

No you can't change partners in VS mode but this can be done in Crossover mode so it's really no big deal if you ask me. I've play the arcade version and most of the combos were saved and put in the playstation version. This game isamazing and addicted. The gameplay is furious and the graphics areexcellent and are not that far off dreamcast's. The game is great for comicbook junkies like me who use to argue in their youth over who would winSpiderman or The Hulk? These game has alot of eye candy and with verydifferent settings to battle thru. The sound in this game is clear. Pleasedon't listen to the bad reviews or you are gonna miss out on a greatgame. Fang Gamepad by Ideazon Review

(More customer reviews)This is a case where Amazon's review system is not working well - or at least, what it is giving the most prominence to is out of date.When I go to the customer review page, what is currently listed as "the most helpful critical review" is 100% lying to you about The Fang product you'd be buying - it is indeed now fully programmable. There are also several other older (year+) reviews listed prominently (on the first page) stating it's not programmable.

It is programmable on a key-by-key basis, and has been for about a year now.You can whip up all the personally customized key profiles you want.

On the product itself, where the ring, middle and index finger rest in the center - there is nothing better.It's not perfect, but it is far better in that area than anything else being sold right now.

The Fang is weak in the thumb area, this is it's main drawback.The Merc Keyboard (a Fang and keyboard merged) looks like it keeps what is good about the Fang and improves the thumb area substantially.For me personally, I like having a separate device from the keyboard.

PS3 Real Arcade Pro. 3-SA Review

(More customer reviews)This is, without a doubt the fight stick you should buy for your PS3.It has all of the same components as the Mad Catz Tournament sticks.Right out of the box, you get all Sanwa buttons and, of course, your Sanwa JLF joystick.In addition, something you get with this baby that you don't get with any of the SFIV sticks (despite what some previews or even the box itself says) is full PS1/PS2 compatibility as long as you have the latest firmware update, and obviously, a backwards compatible PS3.The HRAP 3 SA is also fully wired to work on your PC, which means you can play all those games you have on MAME or any other emulator you use.The fight stick itself is heavy enough where you can rest it on a table and it will stay firmly in place, (yes it has the four rubber stops at the bottom) but light enough where you can play it on your lap without any discomfort.It's also a beauty to look at.It's got a very sleek design and the japanese style button placement is just right for most of your favorite fighting games.

I understand there's been some concerns about the square gate the joystick uses.Let me just say that I have always been used to an octogonal gate when playing my fighting games.While I do admit it felt a bit awkward at first, I got used to it fairly quickly.The type of gate a joystick uses doesn't affect the movement commands at all. Just keep using it and it will feel right in no time.However, if you continue to have trouble with it you can always buy an octogonal restrictor plate. (I highly recommend[see comments] for all you arcade part needs.)The stick is easy enough to mod, and I believe the plate is a snap-in-snap-out kind of deal.
P.S. ALL ARCADE FIGHT STICKS THAT COME WITH A SANWA JOYSTICK INCLUDES THE SAME SQUARE PLATE!

Conclusion: If you're going for the best-of-the-best, I can't recommend a better fight stick than this one.The only thing the Mad Catz Tournament Editon Stick really has over this is that compartment for the cord, which is admittedly cool.But with backwards compatibility and, at the time of this review, a $10 cheaper price tag, your arcade fight stick of choice should definately be the Hori Real Arcade Pro 3 SA.Now if you'll excuse me I'm off to play more Marvel Vs. Capcom 2.

It doesn't detect the movement left or right but then you use your thumb on the top d-stick.For those of you on a tight budget it might be best towait and see if another game comes out before you get it.

Bloody Roar Extreme Review

(More customer reviews)Bloody Roar Extreme for the XBOX is an excellent game, and it barely misses the mark for a perfect score. You fight on outdoor and indoor arenas some of them look very nice; they have an aquarium, aircraft carrier, urban slums, dojo and more. What really sets Bloody Roar Apart from conventional fighters is that each character can transform into some type of beast! While in "beast" form you take less damage and inflict more upon your rival and you can also execute super combo attacks. The graphics are beautiful, but the animation lacks fluidity. The most visually striking is the "Elephant", I love how the screen shakes when he walks, punches with his hooves and grapples with his trunk; it's amazing to see. The"lion" and "wolf" will slash with their claws and bite with their fangs- its so cool!
The sound effects are good and you'll enjoy the beasts sounds of lion roar, phoenix scream, bat squeek, elephant letting a good trumpet blow. This game is a lot of fun, but kinda short.

Monster Rancher 2 Review

(More customer reviews)I am TOTALLY addicted to this game! I've played many monster raising RPGs, but this one beats them all! The gameplay isn't long and boring, and the graphics are cool! The idea of the game is that you are a begginningmonster trainer, and you have to raise the ultimate monster to compete inthe major four, a set of the top hardest tournaments (I know, sounds a lotlike poke'mon's Elite Four, but trust me, its different.) There are threeways to get new monsters, you can generate one from a CD, buy one at themarket, or combine to of them to get a new one. I liked the combining partbecause the game tells you what chance you have of getting a good monster.After you obtain a monster, you take it to you ranch to be trained. You canincrease it's stats, let it rest, or enter a battle tournament. The battlesare very cool because they are simple without being easy. You control whichdirection you r monster moves, when it attacks and when, and ultimately howpowerful its attacks are. The game gets more complex toward the end at agood pace. The plot lacks a little creativity, but that is quicklyforgotten as one can easily get completely obsessed with this game.
