(More customer reviews)I was in doubt, if this modem is really unlocked or not, but when I received it, I found out that it is. Supports quad band GPRS/EDGE and 3-band UMTS, which means that it can work with any GSM operator anywhere in the world. That's what I call mobility. Provided software does not limit you to use it for AT&T only and quite easy to setup. External antenna can be connected, but I found it's internal antenna quite good. Compatible with Linksys WRT54G3G router.

Both the AirCard 880 and the AirCard 881 offer tri-band UMTS/HSPA and quad-band GPRS/EDGE for global connectivity and worldwide roaming. With Sierra Wireless HSPA AirCard modems, mobile data customers will be able to send email attachments, upload information, and transmit data from portable devices at speeds up to a theoretical maximum speed of 2.0 Mbps. Downlink speeds are also improved over currently available models, with a theoretical maximum download speed of 7.2 Mbps. The AirCard 880 is optimized for better fringe performance in Europe and Asia, while the AirCard 881 is optimized for better fringe performance on North American networks.
