(More customer reviews)Well these things have been said over and over so I will spare the you the repititious "this is the sequel to the best selling star wars game" stuff that everyone feels so necassary to include in their reviews.

Instead let us get down to this game itself and not the series history as I'm sure many of you are well aware of.

Battlefront 2 is an epic title from the explosive opening to the "oh whys it have to be over" finish. Any fan of the first game will undoubtebly love this game, especially on xbox. Seriously, what fan of BF1 wouldn't get excited over 4 player split screen. thats my favorite addition for sure as I have many Battlefront buddies. The fact you can now play as jedi and sith is a brilliant addition and it works great. I loved the Episode III game for its playable jedi and awesome lightsaber action. I gotta say though, BF2 does the whole jedi thing much better. Now I'm not raggin on ROTS, I gave it 5 stars. But really, the addition of lightsaber weilding characters is not just a cheap gimick. Its done very well. Space combat is another great addition to the BF universe. And although its recieved tons of hype, it doesnt need a whole lot of explaining. you fight in space battles now such as the ones from episode 3 and 5. Its all great and feels like rogue squadron did on the n64...awesome. There is a storyline but seriously Im more into the action than a storyline. For some this will seem to be a big plus, and justifiably so, the story is handled very nicley too.

Graphicly BF2 is all that it can be on the xbox...wonderful. I liked BF1's graphics alot, and these are so much better. All the new weapons, ships, planets, characters, their all here, in mass proportion. This is truly the complete Star Wars action game. You've got Naboo, Tatoinne, Coruscant, Utapu, Fellucia, Mustafar, Dahgoba, may more. Play as Boba and Jango Fett, Obi-Wan, Mace, Anakin, Vader, Yoda, many more, including the trechorous bothan spy. You must get this game if your a fan of Star Wars or just searching for a great action title.

Blood Bowl Legendary Edition Review

(More customer reviews)This game allows you to play a deadly version of rugby with a variety of mythical creatures common to "Tolkein" novels as well as more gothic horror creatures like vampires, mummies, skeletons, and wights. Every race has different strengths and weaknesses which creates variety to each match and insures replayability. Half the challenge of the game is scoring touchdowns on the pitch, while the other is managing your player roster and using your teasury to purchase gear, star players, and dirty tricks to give yourself a game winning advantage.This is the sequel to the first Blood Bowl video game and has nearly twice as many fantasy races available for teams. Blood Bowl works best as a turn based tactical board game, is not a NFL football simulator.It's tons of fun with a speedy PC, but takes about 40 TO 60 minutes to complete a match.It can be played against a decent AI opponent or online with a fast enough internet connection against a fellow human (for free, yea!).

Hot Shots Golf: Out of Bounds Review

(More customer reviews)After playing all the Hot Shot Golf games on the Playstation 2 and being very pleased with all of them, I am again impressed with the new Out of Bounds version for the Playstation 3.Beginning with a look at graphics, I don't know if I would label them true 'next generation' in appearance but they are very nice to look at.Whether it is reflections off of water or vegetation or clothes on the players and caddies, it is well done in my opinion.As far as seamless game play, you're going to get that here.There is no lag or stutter in any animations and the load times are virtually non-existent in almost every case.Movement from hole to hole is quick and a round of golf can be too.I can play a round of 9 holes in about 12 to 15 minutes (I'm still on the 9 hole challenges at this point in the game).

When it comes to the controls used in playing the game, they are easy to learn and not hard to master, with one exception.This new version introduces a new type of advanced shot method where you watch the backswing of your player and look for flashing lights at certain points to gauge how hard to swing.Upon making your downswing, a circular meter below the golfer has a ring around it that collapses toward a ball icon and when the circle shrinks to encompass the ball, you hit the X button on the controller at just the right time to get a perfect hit.It sounds complicated but it isn't really.It is all a matter of timing and a little patience required.I personally still use the traditional shot method as seen in previous Hot Shot games which is the power bar at the bottom which gives you more precision in setting power and showing just where to hit a solid impact on the ball.I've found the advanced shot type a bit awkward personally and even though the manual says that the new method offers better range and impact zone, I haven't noticed any significant differences between the two shot methods and this is after playing many rounds with many different types of clubs using both shot types.

So far I've only played on two courses in the challenge mode (you open up new courses after beating a computer opponent in each challenge session) and what I've seen so far is good stuff.There is options to play regular games (stroke, match play, etc.) aside from the challenges and you can do practice rounds also where you can set course conditions to help you make shots in certain types of situations.There are 5 main characters that you can choose to start out with and each one has their own individual strengths, animations, and funny ways of talking.There is also several different caddies that add a good dose of humor now and again during the rounds.

I haven't played online yet and I don't know If I will do that but the instruction manual is very detailed on how to do this and the manual is excellent regarding all other facets of the game also.Something to look forward to, according to the game makers, is the fact that later on you can go online to download new content for the game including new courses, new gear, and other goodies. If you're a past fan of Hot Shots Golf, I would definitely recommend picking up Out of Bounds because it's a greatgame in my opinion and should bring many hours of fun to those that like golf.

Farm Frenzy 3 Review

(More customer reviews)I am a huge fan of the Farm Frenzy series. I've played all of them and have enjoyed watching them improving and advance the game with each release. Melesta made some nice improvements with Farm Frenzy 3, but they also made a couple of changes that were unnecessary and harmed the overall enjoyment of the game.

For those not familiar with the Farm Frenzy series, it's a strategy plus time management game.Not all levels are pure speed.Some levels can only be completed by doing things in a certain order.The player is given a list of goals to complete within a certain amount of time.Those goals include either collecting money, produce, or manufacturing products from supplies either produced by the farm animals or bought.As the player collects more coins, they are able to upgrade their equipment.The `goal' of Farm Frenzy 3 is to help Scarlet become Farm Union President.To do that, she must help five friends from different areas of the world with their farm.This is the first version to have a story line and well, it's a weak one.It's there, but certainly will not win any prizes for originality or depth.

Instead of the map being streets that intersect and the player goes around the board, the map is divided into 5 sections representing different countries. Like with previous versions the player workers their way through each level, unlocking new equipment and upgrading supplies.Unlike earlier versions, the game play is not linear.There are only so many levels that can be played in each section before moving on to another section.Additionally, each section has animals that are unique.For example, Peru has big horn sheep that drop horns while Antarctica has walruses.Not every section will have animals that produce horns, adding to the strategy of needing to buy supplies in order to finish certain products.I like the way they designed the areas and the extra challenge created by not being able to simply raise money to buy the animal needed.Farm Frenzy 2 and Pizza Party both required buying supplies, but version 3 enhanced this feature and utilized the plane well.

Farm Frenzy has always had adorable characters and this time is no exception.The sheep are huggable cute.The animation has been improved from previous versions and the new animals are great.The penguins flipping fish are exceptionally entertaining.The developers have made some great improvements from earlier versions and those efforts are well appreciated.

The developers also created a great way to utilize the bears and predators.In the past, the players has had to capture these and then sell them for ridiculously low amounts.With the addition of the `fitting' room, those predators can now be dressed up and sold for an incredibly high amount.It makes catching and storing them worth wild, as well as making it easy to earn cash in a hurry.

I was very happy to see the developers decided to go back to shorter `recipes'.I enjoyed Pizza Party, but most of the difficulty in that game was remembering the ingredients to make the requested pizza.Farm Frenzy 3's biggest recipe requires 4 items making the game much more enjoyable.This was a great improvement by the developers.

There were some parts I didn't like.I HATE how they changed the dogs.The dogs used to keep the predators away and help cage them.Now they bulldoze the predators, removing both the dog and the predator from the board.There are a couple levels where the dogs removing the bears is the only challenging part of the level.When the player needs to raise money with the bears, the dogs prevent that from happening.These are suppose to be helpful to the player, not a hindrance.This is my number one complaint with the game.

I missed the long level.Usually there is one level that takes about 40 minutes to play.The player has to start by trapping predators to raise the money to buy animals and complete their goals.This time there isn't one.There's still the award for taking at least 30 minutes to win a level, but the longest level is approximately 15 minutes long.To win this award, the player has to simply set there for 30 minutes and do nothing.Anyway, I would have liked to have had the one long level.They were always a lot of fun.

Melesta needs to invest in beta testers that will catch things like awards that can only be won by sitting idle or typos.There's really no excuse for some of the errors that are in the game.The lack of attention to detail is evident in a lot of time management games, but some things should have been caught and corrected before being released (i.e. Funny's Arm instead of Funny's Farm).Also, it's obvious whoever did the story got kinda tired of it.Usually there's at least a we did it.Instead after getting so far the story line just disappears.It's a little thing, but shows a lack of attention to details.Lastly, the ethnic stereotyping is probably suppose to be funny, but I'm not sure those being depicted will find it so.

Overall, Farm Frenzy 3 is a great game.It is quite a bit harder than the previous versions.However, it is possible to get gold the first time through the game.It is challenging, fun, and addicting and a nice fix for strategy and time management junkies.
