Not only that, but for mos car racing games you can use these pedals asreal pedals. the only problem is that they are designed for 2 feet so theyare a little spread out. But it's not to bad. these are a good price andvery useful.

USAF Review

(More customer reviews)I spent hours playing USNF97 Viet Nam era missions, so I was eager to boot up Janes USAF.At first blush, this game looks terrific.With the appropriately sarcasticCol. "Scooter" Davis as your IP, you go through training at Nellis.In my case I flew most missions in the F-105 "Thud".Once through training, I started to fly some of the pre-set VN missions.
Here are the problems I see in this game that distract greatly from its overall rating.
1)Air launched missiles, Sparrow, Shrike and Sidewinder are 100% accurate.I had my setting at "Realistic".Reading of this era combat details how notorious the Sparrow was for just falling off the rails.If you launch, you will get a kill.
2)The worst problem, your wingman are ineffective. In flying a mission against the Paul Doumer bridge, I've taken 100% casualities most of the time, that is MigCap, Weasel and Strike aircraft all get shot down.Some of these are just crashing into the ground.I know it was rough and those men who flew the missions had a lot of guts, but in the game it is almost impossible to have a successful mission because the rest of team does not do their job.
3) The published patch is suppose to fix some of the A/I problems.However I have tried about half a dozen times and can't get it load.
4)For some reason the maps in the mission generator won't load.I have yet to figure this one out.
I really want to like this game.It is good for a couple of weeks, but does not seem to have the long term interest of EAW, Mig Alley or MSCS2-Pacific.

(More customer reviews)WW II fighters was one of a pack of four combat flight simulator that came out together in the same one-year period.It proves to be the most beautiful and playable of them all.To start, the graphics arespectacular.They use direct 3D rendering and are completely customizable,allowing many different hardware configurations to run the game well.Thedetails, from explosions and tracer bullets to smoke trails, are stunning. The soundtrack is perhaps the best of any computer game.The music is wellcomposed and appropriate for each situation.The combat sounds enhance therealism of the game.For example, when an enemy barely misses you with hismachine guns, you'll hear the bullets sail past you.The game is alsovery playable and accessible to even the most casual simulator pilot.Aunique camera view in the lower right hand corner is padlocked to yourtarget and indicates its bearing.This makes up for the limitation ofusing a computer screen to take the place of a three dimensional world. The fact that fighters in World War II had none of the onboard radar andavionics of a modern plane means that the simulation is simplified andhence more fun than many of the simulators for modern aircraft.Themissions are challenging, but do not really compose a persistent campaign. I highly recommend this game to those interested in combat flightsimulators.If you don't take my word for it, just try the demo and Ithink you'll be sold.

Nascar Racing 4 Review

(More customer reviews)Incredible.Just got my copy today.I'm blown away.This is not some race-around-and-smash-other cars game like the EA Nascar games, this is pure simulation.The physics model is incredible.The graphics are top notch... includes D3D *and* OpenGL.Attention to detail in the physics department is why I liked the demo, and what prompted me to pick up the boxed retail.If you fall behind a bit, or can't figure out the optimum path through a corner, you've got a lot of catching up to do.If you don't care about tweaking tire pressure, camber, weight distribution, I really wouldn't bother.Go pick up a fun arcade game like Colin McRae 2.If you dig the *whole* experience, give Papyrus its due and pick this one up.

Of course you canspend hundreds on very expensive wheels, but in this price range the maincontenders are the MSFF wheel, Logitech, and Act Labs wheel. These are allForce Feedback wheels which is a must feature now that games support it ina much more sophisticated way. Just feeling the bumps when you hit the curbor other cars, is not enough. If you're into racing sims, such as GrandPrix Legends, being able to feel subtle forces that let you know when thecar is at the limit of traction, makes for a much more immersive experienceand also makes you a better driver. I've used the MSFF for 18 months now,and it has it over other Force Feedback wheels in the following areas: 1)It has no weaknesses. Both the wheel and the pedals are good. Many wheelsfall down in having poor pedals. Being able to apply delicate accelerationand braking is crucial. The Microsoft pedals have good travel and feel. Incomparison a lot of Logitech owners have sunstituted their pedals for CHPedals - which adds to the cost and hassle. 2)It uses an optical readerrather than potentiometers (Pots). Pots wear out quite quickly, theMicrosoft Wheel has the same precision it did 18 months ago after hundredsof hours of use. Some people tend to be anti Microsoft which I feel haveclouded their opinions when comparing the MSFF with the Logitech Wheel. Idon't think you'll be disappointed with this wheel.

(More customer reviews)"Jane's F-15" answers the ages-old question of "what if my new computer becomes too obsolete to fly the hot new games?"If you manage to overcome a murderous learning curve and a textbook sized manual, you'll quickly find yourself so engrossed in this game that you'll never have to worry about newer and possibly better (though not necessarily more realistic) games.
In short, "Jane's F-15" is probably one of the most complex sims ever published.Though called F-15, this sim zeros on the F-15E, the so-called "Strike Eagle" built for ground-target attack missions.Unlike air-superiority (which the F-15E is capable of in both real life and this game, but not ideally suited for it in either) ground attack missions are more complex, requiring the player-pilot to navigate at low altitude and deal with a myriad of different threats from above and below.That is, you'll not only have to deal with swarms of MiG fighters, but also with clouds of enemy missiles and hostile terrain.
If that sounds like a single-plane version of the survey sims published in the "Jane's Fighters" Franchise -i.e. ATF, IAF and USNF '97 to name a few - forget it."F-15"'s emphasis on this single airplane is comprehensive.Instead of a generic and non-functioning cockpit with common pop-up windows as in those other titles, "F-15" has a fully functioning cockpit with a mouse-click interface and an extremely complex sensor/weapons suite.Tired of radars that come in only one mode for ground or air attack?(I'm sure real pilots would appreciate the simplicity) "F-15" has numerous sub-modes for either counter-air or ground-strike sensors, including one based on the Strike Eagle's famous SAR (Synthetic Aperture Radar) in which a high-frequency beam almost draws a radar-photographic of ground targets.As for the flight model - forget about "Fighters Anthology". Stalls are nasty, directional coupling (in which clutzy control inputs on one directional axis destabilize your control on another) is common and the default setting is Hi-Fi.
On the minus end, the game lacks a training module - which would be okay for a sim with as undemanding as "F-22 Raptor" or "iF-22" or "F-22 Lightning 3" or some WWII sim.Instead, F-15 offers a few single "training" missions which look like watered down versions of the game's real missions.Ofcourse you can look at the single missions and instant action as training-simulation, but that only waters down the sim as a whole - it's all a simulation when you come right down to it.Instead, the game could have offered some state-side training on conspicuously mock-targets using practice weaponry and in planes with high-viz skins, something that would have made the "real missions" stand out.By limiting your options to the traditional "single missions, instant action, campaign and MP", "F-15" unnecessarily steepens the learning curve and dumbs down the game's premise of being a higher-minded sim.That is, on the one hand, it beats down on you relentlessly with its realism, and then gives you nothing better to do than blast something.
PROS - Incredibly realistic and engrossing.
CONS - a high-maintenance sim that will monopolize your computer time; lack of a training module deprives game of substance to back its complexity; Jane's manual is in depth but, on this edition, on-disc rather than paper - you can print it out, but hopefully you've got a friend at Kinko's or otherwise get your ink cartridges at cost.
System issues: F-15 ran well on my P200MMX (with 32mb RAM and a 12mb Voodoo2 card).Moving up to my newer machine, I found no compatibility issues with WinXP
IN SHORT: If you want the most complex sim of a modern jet fighter, but your system can't run "Jane's F/A-18", the this is the game for you.

It gets used and abused playing all types of games from the dirt track racing series, to formula 1, to nascar 4. It just keeps delievering the realism. I paid 150 bucks for mine, and would pay it again, but now the price has dropped.The forces are as real as it gets, buy this wheel now, you won't be dissapointed.

(More customer reviews)The product arrived in 2 days in good order.It is a good quality wheel with a good feel.The pedals are large enough and well spaced.The wheel comes with an installation CD and a bundled game. The biggest problem I had was during installation.At one point it asks for you to insert the Windows '98 CD into the drive.My Dell computer did not include this CD so I was stuck without a necessary driver.After some time searching the internet, I was able to get the driver and complete the installation. Once over this hurdle, everything went well.The wheel is easy to set up and it works with all the games I have tried.The 6 buttons are easy to program for shifting gears, lights, horn or whatever you wish.By the end of the day the whole family was engrossed in Need For Speed - High Stakes. The force feedback experienced with most games is amazing!You will feel bumps and turns and other cars hitting you.One thing to note is that if you have a heavy foot, the pedals may slide away from you, even on carpet. I have not used other force feedback wheels but I could definitely recommend this one an excellent option!

You do this by delivering loads, earning money and licenses so you can hire other drivers and assign them routes, as well as buy better trucks and upgrades. All the while, you have to avoid empty fuel tanks, pesky cops, and AI drivers who seem to cut you off at inappropiate times. Overall, it's a fun and unique gaming experience, although in other installments of Hard Truck, you had actual truck models (the ones here are generic) and you had to fight off the Mafia who would try to hijack your valuable loads and plant land mines in the highway. In addition, the cops were much more vicious in the previous games, using Apache helicoptors and high-powered riflesto stop you if you broke the law.

(More customer reviews)This package actually includes 2 games in 1 - Crazy Machines and Crazy Machines 1.5. This bonus is not advertised on the box, but is printed on the disc face. Over 400 challenging puzzles! This is a much better deal than buying them seperately.

Just a few words of warning: This game is 3D accelerated so you will need the proper hardware to run it (I recomend nVidia graphics cards). Also, this version is Windows only (no Mac support like the seperate versions). The game uses very little hard drive space (about 150MB) and runs fine in Windows Vista too.

Buy this game! I highly recomend it!

(More customer reviews)1. Can be enjoyed equally well using either the controller or the Microsoft Wireless Racing Wheel with the gas and brake pedals. Both will give you a different experience. Using the wheel while sitting in a chair is just like driving a car while using the controller may alloy for a little more precision driving around corners. Both will provide a unique experience and double the value of your racing/diving games.
2. THE AUTOREVERSE IS UNIQUE IN THIS GAME COMPARED TO OTHER RACING GAMES.THE MANUAL DOESN'T TELL YOU HOW TO AUTOREVERSE CORRECTLY, BUT I'LL TELL YOU.After coming to a completes stop with your left trigger pulled, release the left trigger, and then re-pull the left trigger to go into reverse. Then pull the right trigger when you need to go forward again.You can also manually shift gears or go into reverse even with the car in automatic.
3. The autoreverse works only when you are flush against a solid object and can't move an inch to the right or left. If doesn't seem to matter if you have autoreverse enabled or disabled, it seems to work the same way.
4. You can disable the replay feature it desired.
5. When racing thru traffic, drive in the first person (hood or bumper view). It' much easier to race through traffic with a lot less damage than the 3rd-person view. The trailing views aren't nealy as fun either.
6. When you need to smash the targeted car and then pull up beside it or to give it 100% damage, it's advantageous to switch to the 3rd person (trailing view) but not essential.
7. Switch the view points using the up on the directional pad.
8. This game is really challanging and hard even on "easy". Just like Turok there is nothing easy when you play it on "easy". This is much more fun than shooters. You get to drive thru the city, dirt roads, and the Autobaun at 100 to 160mph completing all the challenges and missions.
9. I don't think any sane person can beat the game Hard without spending 1,000,000 hours of game play. So don't even try. Go into the options menu and change it to "easy". On hard the damage to your car is a 10% limit. On Normal it's 20%. On "Easy" its 30%. The damage quota isn't there for some of the missions.
10. You can change the KPH to MPH in the options menu.
11. After the first case is beaten, 5 race tracks and 5 vehicles will be unlocked. With each case you beat you will unlock more and more. The racing events are fun. You get to do point to point races and circuit races using all kinds of different vehicles and tracks thru the Autobaun, city and country roads.
12. You can play the game with the cases, and you can do the racing events (after the first case is beaten).
13. THIS GAME CAN BE REALLY FRUSTRATING AT TIMES. YOU MIGHT NEED TO REPEAT SOME OF THE MISSIONS SEVERAL TIMES FOR HOURS TO BEAT SOME OF THEM. ALSO, AFTER YOU BEAT THE FIRST COUPLE OF CASES, ON SOME MISSIONS, THE OBJECTIVES WILL FLASH BY IN JUST ONE OR TWO SECONDS. YOU WILL HAVE A GOOD IDEA OF WHAT TO DO BASED ON PREVIOUS MISSIONS YOU BEAT ESPECIALLY FROM THE FIRST CASE. BUT, EVERYTIME YOU FAIL A MISSION, THERE IS A CHECKLIST OF MISSION OBJECTIVES LISTING THE OBJECTIVES YOU WERE SUCCESSFUL AT (GREEN CHECKMARK) AND THOSE OBJECTIVES YOU FAILED (RED CHECKMARK).

Each case has many missions to it, about 5 or 6 average.
Each and every mission has a new challenges with new variables as you go thru the game. There is a new and different challenge to be done. You'll have different vehicle and even a tank. A few of challenges are the similar to previous ones, but each is unique with unique variable, e.g, traffic for one. You are traveling thru the Autobaun and country roads and city streets with a new and unique challenge with each case and mission.
Once you get passed the first case, the challenges become more unique and fun. Just when you thought you've experienced it all there's a new more challenging mission.

This is totally unique from any other driving game. This makes a great addition to all the other racing/driving games that I own, e.g., Dirt 2, Grid, Need For Speed: Pro Street/Undercover/Shift, Flatout Ultimate Carnage, Burnout Paradise.
This is a keeper. I love this game. This can also be one of the tougher/toughest games to beat all the way through even on "easy".

There's also a sequal called Autobaun Polezi which is great also. There are the case missions, plus missions you get on patrol along with a GPS indicator as well as a map in the pause menu to see where your target is.
There's a CrashTime III which has been release in Europe, but not yet in the USA.

Microsoft SideWinder Precision Racing Wheel (USB) Review

(More customer reviews)I have had problems from the start with this steering wheel.Sometimes Windows (98) recognizesthis device and when it does, it works fine; however more times then not I have to spend hours re-loading drivers,re-booting, etc.. to get this to work (if win98 recognizes this device itwill be listed by clicking the game controller icon from the control panelwindow). Problem is its a USB device which means its plug and play. Once Iintially install the device it should work 100% of the time. I have agravis USB game pad as well as a USB scanner both work great so I know theproblem is not with the computer (which is a month old) nor the USB port(s)but with the steering wheel.When I attempted to contact Microsoft totroubleshoot the only way they would talk to me was if I paid $35. I couldnot even contact them via email!Needless to say I am returning thisproduct.I have no intention of ever owning another microsoft productother then want comes pre-loaded on my current and future PC's.If theycannot offer free online support for their customer's I cannot recommendany of their products escpecially for products less then 30 days old!

(More customer reviews)I'd say my disappointment in this game has more to do with my lack of patience than anything. I just don't think a game should have a several hour learning curve. The training and tutorial modes are good enough to get you up and running but there's no way you could just pick up this game for the first time having little or no experiance with MC racer games and do well.
The bikes are okay, the tracks are okay. Graphics are okay.
Makes me really miss the Panasonic 3DO. (Age specific joke there)
If you really want this game, I mean you REALLY want this game, go for it. But if you're on the fence, just rent it. It's worth a try, but I'll be trading it in.

AC/DC Live: Rock Band Track Pack Review

The songs are fun to play, with accurate-enough charts and tunes that even if you didn't think you knew--most of which--you'll realize you've heard on your local rock station a dozen times before (which by no means is a bad thing). Obviously this will cater the most to fans of the band, and really, if you don't at least moderately like AC/DC I have no idea why you'd pick this up.

All of the songs are currently--and possibly *forever*--exclusive to this disc, so don't expect to find them in the DLC updates. According to an article I read online, AC/DC refuses to put out individual tracks (either in music games like Rock Band or Guitar Hero, nor individual mp3s found in services like iTunes) because they consider themselves a 'full-album band'... which is an unusual attitude to have, but I get it, I guess.

The only qualm I really have with this Track Pack is that, since it uses the Rock Band 1 system, you need to play through a Career-style menu in order to unlock each song. (Eg. You start off with Song 1 and can't advance until you beat it, which then unlocks Song 2 to play.. then Song 3.. and Song 4, etc.) Although, once you've completed all of the songs, they're yours to play in Quickplay, but don't expect to be able to create your own tracklist once you have unlocked them all--you'll need the Rock Band 2 functions for such things.

Luckily, the game comes with a one-time use transfer code--as mentioned in the description--to let you download the entire set as one giant file to your 360's harddrive for use with either Rock Band game in the series (and supposedly future Rock Band games as well, but we'll see about that), keep in mind that you'll need to connect to Xbox Live Marketplace to use the transfer code however.

In addition you can fly training missions in strafing, bombing and firing rockets at targets with on-screen instructions.When you get comfortable with these missions (if you're a new-comer) you can progress to actual missions on specific campaigns or build your own personal missions, if you like.I've tried MS Combat Flight Sim, Figher Aces and a couple of others.I've yet to see a WWII Fighter game that tops this one!You can't go wrong with it, especially at this price!
