Family Feud Review

Family Feud
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Family Feud, just like the Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy! games from Hasbro Interactive, is simply excellent. The gameplay and sound effects are just like the current incarnation of the TV show. The animations are flawless. The option to create your own family is unique and produces reasonably good results.Louie Anderson is tolerable on this game, unlike the TV show where it sounds like he is close to screaming.Overall, it's a game I thoroughly enjoy and would recommend to anybody interested in purchasing it.
I will offer these 2 caveats to anybody thinking of purchasing Family Feud: 1.If you have a slower computer, the game can act sluggishly. It was slow at times on my laptop (366 MHz, 32 MB RAM, 2 MB video card) while it ran flawlessly on my desktop (600 MHz, 64 MB RAM, 8 MB video card). 2.The full install is a gargantuan 600+ MB.While this shouldn't be an issue for consumers with newer computers, it is still worth noting.

I like multiplayer games of all sorts, pc, console, fighting, strategy, driving, I just love playing against people. This game is so worth having a multitap. The single player never really caught my eye, but all the goodies in the multiplayer have easily made this the game I've logged the most hours with, ever.In maniac mode where you can specify the powerups, it's even crazier when you can start flinging out a row of 7 bombs to blow up your opponent. It's fiendishly simple to learn, and takes some practice to become good at it.Mainly being able to watch everyone else on the screen and avoid their bombs. This is one of my all time favorite games.I would have liked to see more levels, but there is a good variety with what is there, plus there are 2 secret levels you can unlock with a code. The adventure game might be better on the n64, but the n64 just is crap compared to the ps1 game.Definately a great party game.

Mario Party 3 Review

Mario Party 3
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Well, let me start by saying that you won't fully appreciate this game unless you've played the first two. The original Mario Party was insanely difficult and didn't offer you a whole lot of choices other than roll and hope you don't get screwed, since it seemed like Bowser was everywhere. In Mario Party 2, items were introduced and alternate game modes. You only got to carry one item and they were insanely expensive. Then came Mario Party 3. Well, let me say, I've never seen a game evolve so much from one sequel to the next.
You will enjoy this game if you've ever played a real-life board game with friends or family. Most living, breathing beings who enjoy a little friendly competition with an interactive backdrop will enjoy this game. Even if you lose, which you will from time to time, it's still a lot of fun. I've only explored the battle royal mode, which is just a fancy name for the regular multiplayer mode, and haven't had a chance to explore the other modes. This mode alone makes the game worthwhile. Even if you don't have anyone to play against, its still fun as a one-player game. How so? Well, for starters, it takes four players to play battle royal mode. If you're short, you can substitute a computer player, so essentially, this is a 1-4 player game. Two new characters have been added, Daisy and Waluigi (both from Mario Golf), for a total of eight characters to choose from.
The single defining quality of this game is that now you can save your game file.... The creators had foresight enough to leave three spaces for saving games under a file name. If you're in the middle of a game, you can go to the options menu and choose "Don't Save", "Save After This Turn", or "Save After Every Turn". That alone is beautiful, no longer do you have to sit and finish a 50-turn game, which could take over two hours to finish. In addition, you can set the speed of the messages and actual gameplay. That helps if you're in a hurry and want to get a quick game in.
Now here is probably one of the most useful features of the game, that isn't explicitly stated in the instruction manual. Say four of you are playing and somebody has to leave. Simply pause the game, and there is a menu option that lets you switch players back and forth between human and computer. Say that person is only gone for a few turns, then pause and switch them back to human when they return....
Also, we've gone from no items, to one item, to being able to carry up to three items at the same time. In addition, the prices have dropped sharply, unlike the real world. That's because there were only a handful of items in MP2. Now there are about double if not more and a lot more opportunities to acquire them. The items are what really make the game unpredictable. That coupled with Chance Time and Hidden Blocks makes it truly anybody's game. Don't worry if one player is dominant at most of the minigames. There is still the possibility of outsmarting them for the win. Some of the new items are truly evil in nature and others very practical and well-thought out. For example, the Boo Repellent is essential for keeping the kleptomaniac apparition at bay. The Cellular Shopper lets you buy an item at any place on the board, on your turn. In addition, there's item that lets you call Bowser and sick 'em on somebody of your choosing, a lamp that moves the star at random, a mushroom that makes someone you choose move backward for one turn, etc. The list goes on and on. The unpredictability of MP3 as opposed to MP2 makes the game incredibly more fun.
Simply put, if you like board games then you'll love this. It is truly a party. Worth every bit of the ... I paid. Nintendo certainly knows how to improve upon its predecessor titles. Go get it!

Product Description:
Mario, Donkey Kong, Yoshi, and all your favorite characters are back in Mario Party 3. This game features 70 minigames that make you use your N64 controller in ways you never thought imaginable. Like its predecessors, up to four people can participate in five areas in board-game-style play. As you traverse the board, you'll have your chances to compete in the aforementioned minigames. Then it's all about button mashing and analog-stick twisting. The gamepad techniques are easily explained, but some of them are tougher than they look. The single-player story mode is an absolute chore filled with as much watching as playing. You're not supposed to play this game alone, hence the word "party" in the title. Multiplayer modes include party, battle royal, and duel. The first two are the basic free-for-alls found in previous games, while duel mode is an interesting addition that combines elements from Othello and Monopoly with the minigames. The various modes help shorten multiplayer game time, which was a problem in previous versions. Mario Party 3 continues the series' tradition of being the top dog of party games. With its numerous easy-to-learn minigames, it's perfect for when you and your friend are looking for quick, mindless fun. --Raymond M. Padilla

Crash Bash Review

Crash Bash
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Ever since the debut of Nintendo's "Mario Party", the multiplayer party genre is suddenly popular. Now the PlayStation's mascot, Crash, is jumping onto the bandwagon with "Crash Bash". It's the first game developed without Naughty Dog, who created Crash's first four games; instead, it's developed by Eurocom and Mark Cerny. For a first shot, Eurocom has done a great job with living up to Naughty Dog's legacy.
You can play as one of eight characters: Crash, Coco (Crash's sister), Dr. Neo Cortex (Crash's enemy), Dr. N. Brio (Cortex's rival), Tiny, Dingodile, and Koala Kong (Cortex's henchmen), and Kangorilla (a new character). There are also some secret characters, including Ripper Roo (a psychotic kangaroo in a straitjacket) and Penta Penguin.
There's a total of 28 different games to play. One example is a game where you ride on polar bears and joust each other while trying to avoid falling off of the slippery, swaying iceberg on which you're battling. In another, you bounce on pogo sticks and try to make the bricks of the platform you're bouncing on a solid color. There's even a game where you drive through a maze in a tank and blast each other with missiles and mines. Some games, though, are variants of classic games, such as air hockey, racing (although in this, you race in bumper cars rather than go-karts), and standard fighting, e.g. throwing TNT at each other and using your special 'power', etc.
The game allows for 1-4 players, and offers so much fun, you'll get addicted instantly. You'll definitely enjoy it!

Pinball Hall of Fame: The Williams Collection Review

Pinball Hall of Fame: The Williams Collection

Do yourself a favor and pick this up. The new tables and HD textures make it worth the upgrade from the earlier PS2 and Wii release.

The physics are perfect (as they were before), and the new tables easily make it worth the budget asking price. I encourage anyone who wants to see more of this immediately buy it to support the developer.

The three new tables are all modern titles which make them very accessible. They are Arabian Nights, Medieval Madness, No Good Gofers like Amazon states. For some reason there seems to be some discrepancy between the few reviews that are online. Arabian Nights and Medieval Madness are especially good.

The HD textures are beautiful, even on my older SDTV with composite cables. Full screen (4x3) is supported as well. It's a notable improvement from the PS2 release.

The controls are straightforward. The left and right triggers are the bumpers. You pull the right analog stick back to launch the plunger and the left analog nudges the table.

If you're curious about the music it's the same cheesy set of tunes the PS2 release had. Thankfully you can turn it off and listen to a custom soundtrack on the 360 version. Otherwise you'll be rocking out to some bad synth and wanna-be metal tunes.

A welcome addition is the online leader board. This greatly improves the replay value. I was able to rank in Funhouse after only a few plays.

The price on Amazon is a steal. I bought it locally at a higher price because I've been waiting anxiously for its release ever since it was announced.

Rayman 10th Anniversary Collection

With the unfortunate lack of good platform games (or any platform games at all) on the PC, this is one bundle that has two critically acclaimed platform games for the PC. The only draw back is Rayman arena, which I won't be installing. Rayman 2 and 3 are the reasons why I purchased this bundle and is where the true value is. The price is extremely low and your getting two quality platform games, I recommend it. Make sure you have a gamepad. These games are obviously for all ages. Rayman 3 seems to be geared more towards the older gamer crowd with jokes that reference to sex believe it or not.

Dr. Mario Review

Dr. Mario
Average Reviews:

This is an excellent game and if you were looking for a version of Tetris that was more challenging, than DR MARIO was for you. This game is sometimes very tricky, but it's very fun as well.
The object of the game is to match the colors of the pills that are being dropped onto the viruses below and by doing this killing them off, one by one. I really don't carw what anyone says but this game rocked. In Tetris, the challenge was to clear lines that are at the bottom and they build up. In DR MARIO you had to play the boards as they were giben and in most cases, the viruses were all over the place so placing some of the pills in the wrong place could come back to haunt you.
Like I said, the challenge to this game is great and it never got tired. Really check out DR MARIO it's worth it!

Namco Museum Remix Review

Namco Museum Remix
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I've been following the Namco Museum series for quite a while and I bought Namco Museum on the Gamecube, which was very fun. This game beats the Gamecube version by leaps and bounds, because it takes advantage of the Wii controls in the "remix" games and has more classic games too.

Let me say, however, that if you don't like Pac-Man, or you don't like classic Namco games like Xevious and Dig Dug, then you won't like this game. Just don't bother, or rent it for the few games you will like. That being said, if you do like these things (like I do), then you will love this! The rundown:

Gator Panic Remix: You might have played Gator Panic for tickets at Chuck-e-Cheese's, it's a mallet game where you whomp gators coming out of a cave. This is the first time I've seen it in virtual form and it really works well on the Wii because you actually use the Wii-mote to whomp the gators. I think this one would be the most approachable for little kids.

Rally-X: This is probably the most boring of the games though if you like maze games like Pac-Man, you might enjoy this. You run around on a go-kart through a maze collecting flags and you have to avoid enemies that are chasing you. The only problem is that controlling your kart is a bit dodgy.

Pac'N Roll: This is a really great adventure/puzzle game where you roll Pac-Man through a 3D world picking up energy pellets and occasionally, power pellets that let you eat ghosts. You have a couple abilities to pick up and each level is really long. This is easily the best single-player game in the set.

Galaga Remix: This is a lot like the shooting game in Wii Play or old Zapper games, you use the Wii-mote to shoot at space-bugs while Pac-Man rolls through a space tube, and occasionally you have to shoot down missiles or shoot enemies blocking his path. Perfect "quick-fire" fun.

Pac-Motos: This is a classic "push your enemies off the sky-platform" type of game; as it progresses you have a lot of different enemies to go against and at the end of each world there is a boss stage (these are tough). Good if you like action puzzles.

That's all the games from a single player perspective. I should also mention that games like Gator Panic, Galaga, and Pac-Motos offer multiplayer modes, so they can be a lot of fun with friends. Bottom line is, if you like Namco games and you like Pac-Man, you won't regret buying this.

Go Play Lumberjacks Review

Go Play Lumberjacks
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I actually bought this game because in the past months I had actually wondered what a pro lumberjack competition is like. I saw one at Sea World when I was a kid and I am fascinated by the out of the ordinary. So, I bought partially for the novelty, partially for the great price of only $30, and also, I figured there would probably be some good exercise. I was right on all accounts and this ended up far exceeding the novelty expectations and ended up being, well...a hoot.

It really does a great job of creating an environment where you feel like you're at a county fair or somewhere deep in the South or backwoods. The games are quick and there is plenty of variety to keep it interesting, and you use arm motions and your feet, so some of the competitions actually left me winded. I felt like I was getting as much exercise as my Wii Fit but this was so much fun it didn't feel like exercise, it felt more like I was competing. I got so into it I raised my hands in victory a couple times when I dusted the competition.

I am not a huge game person and I only intended to play this for about 10 minutes to try it out and ended up playing it for an hour and wishing I could have played it for longer. This would definitely be fun to play against other people but a lot of fun, also, by yourself. And you also have the option of playing it without a balance board if you don't have one. It gives you instructions of how to use just the remote or the remote with the balance board.

I am curious about the GoPlay Circus game now, though, that seems like it might be more balance and less movement, which I like more of in a game than just mashing buttons. I also hope they create more of these environmental type games where you actually feel like your in a different world, culture, or environment. It's kinda fun to feel like you're slipping into the life of someone in another part of the country.

Rabbids Go Home Review

Rabbids Go Home
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I agree with the person who said that the first 2 reviewers gave this a 1 because it wasn't the mini game based thing that they expected. This game should be reviewed based on what it IS, not what someone expected it to be. A bit of research to know what you were buying would have saved you the trouble and would have saved this EXCELLENT adventure game from bad scores it doesn't deserve. As an adventure game, Rabbids Go Home is completely original. I've never heard of a game where you build a huge junk pile to get to the moon and thus go home. Or anything even close to that plotline. And you get there in the most crazed, fun, weird and wonderful ways you can hope for. One similarity there IS to the previous titles is the humor. The writing is once again clever and witty, with a lot of "What the....? YES!!!!!!!!" moments. The Rabbids are manic as usual, thank goodness! I've always thought their zaniness was the best part of the mini games. The game looks great too, they are really squeezing the Wii for all the graphical juice they can get out of it. The controls are much improved over previous Rabbids games, things are very fine tuned now and feels much more natural. All in all this game was amazing, I can't think of one single reason to dock any points.

Buzz Master Quiz Review

Buzz Master Quiz
Average Reviews:

This new version of the popular Buzz Master Quiz game for the PSP is an excellent addition to the portable's library.I had Buzz for PS2, but I like this version better.Though the Buzz graphics are nothing to write home about, the a/v interface is very slick in this portable version. For example, in some TV, music, or movie questions, a video clip will play for ten or fifteen seconds before you get the question. The standard PSP buttons work fine for answering questions. And there are a number of different quiz types to keep things interesting, including a "Virus" mode where you can't answer the question until you can make out a pixillated photo which gradually adds resolution -- plus you lose points if you don't answer correctly in time. There are a number of interesting multiplayer options, including ad hoc, pass along, and a mode where one player acts as quiz master, reading questions and keeping score. There are supposed to be more than 3,000 questions, and by creating a profile on the memory card, the game keeps track of the questions you have already answered, to keep things fresh as long as possible. Finally, the price is just $20.This game brings a lot of fun for the money!Highly recommended...

Buzz! Quiz World (Game Only) Review

Buzz Quiz World
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Buzz! Quiz TV was my introduction to Buzz Quiz. I fully enjoyed that game and found it to be perfect for parties, family events or having fun when I feel like playing a game that uses my knowledge against opponents rather than my virtual bullets. This year, Buzz! Quiz World has come along and instantly taken the place of Quiz TV. Buzz! Quiz World

9/10

The Good:
+ Slick new presentation with improved visuals all around.
+ Player Profiles allows individual stat keeping.
+ Much improved online gameplay over Quiz TV.
+ Cimpatibe with Quiz TV Quiz Pack DLC.
+ The categories are improved and many new game types.
+ Customizeable game types allows you to pick your rounds.
+ Buzz is less repetitive in his remarks, yet every bit as cheeky.

The Bad:
- Characters from Quiz Tv seem to be absent.
- Still no custom character editor.
- Only features English, no Spanish or French language options.

Buzz! Quiz world does what few games can do - Please all ages and types of gamers and non gamers at once. I have played an 8-player game with children, teens, twenty-somethings like myself and older adults. Buzz! managed to pull everyone in so we were all crying foul as the current winner answered correctly. It is so perfect for anyone that likes socializing.

With Quiz world, many of my complaints with the Quiz TV have been addressed. For starters, you can now customize what rounds you play. Don't like the pie round? Now you can turn it off to make a custom game suitable to the group playing. Many people I play with complain about the Final Countdown round (which now plays the titular song by Europe) and you can even cut that out. Quiz World also features several new rounds such as Boilng Point, which gives the points to the first player to answer six correct questions.

Buzz now personally addresses player by asking you to pick from a list of names. It goes a long way and makes it feel more like you really are in the game and Buzz is more than just a virtual muppet. Also, this allows tracking of individual profiles, and Buzz remembers your tendencies. For example Buzz said to Kevin, one player who is frequently winning but had fallen into 4th, "Kevin, good to see you back at the top where you belong" after he had regained the lead in one round.

It's many of these small little details that really adds to the longevity and overall fun a game offers. At the end of every game, Accolades are given. It reports who was the fastest buzzer, who had the most right answers (which doesn't always equate to a win), who had the least and who got to pick the most categories just to name a few.

An 8 player game of Buzz! Quiz is a great experience, but Quiz TV had made it lite on rounds and features. Thankfully, Quiz World now allows full games for 8 players too, whereas Quiz TV only had 3 round 8 player games. This may not sound important, but it really does make the game more interesting to have it more than 3 round if you 'd like. Now you won't have 7 other people surprised the game is over already.

Another area where Quiz World shine is the online mode. You can now play with 1-4 people on the same PS3! In Quiz TV 4 people could play, but would all control the same character. Quiz World gives everyone control over their own character and allows up to 8 players to play online on multiple PS3s, or 2 if you have 4 players on each one. Of course, it still features My Buzz quizzes so you can create and share your own custom trivia packs.

The only thing I would like to see Buzz! add is more characters to choose from, or even better the ability to use PSN Home avatars or create your own character to use. There needs to be more characters for practical reasons too. In the instance that you have 5 females players or more, some will have to choose a male character. It's a minor gripe, but something they could have easily remedied by at least including all the characters from Quiz Tv. Where are Cave Girl and Disco Man?

Overall, Quiz World is much improved and a worthwhile purchase for Quiz TV owners and those new to Buzz. You will most certainly be happy with. For those like me who had a Quiz Tv, this is a nice upgrade that will be thourughly enjoyed!

This game is great fun - whether playing by yourself or with others. The additional 'rounds' - different from those in regular Scattergories - are challenging and enjoyable for anyone who loves word games. In fact, I mustown up to being somewhat addicted to this game...
The one problem is thatI've had to reload the game several times. There's some glitch that willsuddenly shut the program down mid-game - obviously very annoying - atwhich point I am unable to restart it.I don't know whether this problemis something unique to my particular CD or something wrong with mycomputer, but it can be very frustrating, irksome and definitely detractssomewhat from the fun (as I keep having to hope it won't suddenlystop).
I would still recommend it highly to players of all ages despitethis problem - like I said, it might not be a rampant glitch, and the fundoes highly outweighs the frustration... although my other warning concernsits addictive qualities...

Boom Blox Review

Average Reviews:

Boom Blox is the perfect example of what a good Wii game should be.It is innovative, intuitive, and most of all, fun.Gamers and non-gamers alike will be able to pick this game up and start playing within seconds.

First off, I'll get the bad news out of the way.Graphically this game isn't going to wow anyone. The graphics are adequate and never go beyond that. The sound and music is instantly forgettable. The characters are saccharine cute, uninspired and half of them make weird grunting noises like a puppy with a bad case of painful gas.Hardcore gamers will likely dismiss this game as a throw-away cutsie/kiddie title.I wouldn't blame them, but that would be their loss.On a side note, if you're a fan of Happy Tree Friends, the characters bear a striking resemblance... except they are block-shaped.

The good news is that just about everything else in this game is very well designed and fun.To truly grasp how the gameplay works you have to see it in action, but I'll try to describe it as best I can.The premise of this physics-based puzzle game is that each level will have a challenge, such as destroy every gem block or carefully unstack a pile of rectangular blocks much like you would as if you were playing Jenga. Some levels will have you throwing tennis balls, bombs, or bowling balls at to interact with the level while others may have you spraying fire hoses and blasting things with lasers. Some levelsencourage you to operate with delicate precision and others encourage reckless, destructive behavior.Overall, the game has a good balance. The gameplay is varied and the use of the Wii controls is very impressive (with one minor exception being the light-gun style mini-games which are very rare). This game really could have been terrible.Too many developers would have slapped some half-baked control scheme onto this game and called it good, but this is one of those rare games where the developer obviously put a lot of thought into the control.

I haven't played multi-player very much, but what I've played is very fun and enjoyable.Single player is addictive, so much so that I was late to a dinner meeting because my friends kept urging me to check out the next level. Most of the levels are clever and leave the player with a great sense of accomplishment when completed. After every five or six levels a new feature or function is opened up, which keeps the gameplay from getting stale. From what I can tell there are hundreds of levels built into the game PLUS the game includes a full featured level editor allows you to modify existing levels and create your own in addition to being able to share your creations with others on the internet.

AC/DC Live: Rock Band Track Pack Review

AC/DC Live: Rock Band Track Pack
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
AC/DC Live: Track Pack has all the rock-edge you've wanted to play in a music game. The songs are fun to play, with accurate-enough charts and tunes that even if you didn't think you knew--most of which--you'll realize you've heard on your local rock station a dozen times before (which by no means is a bad thing). Obviously this will cater the most to fans of the band, and really, if you don't at least moderately like AC/DC I have no idea why you'd pick this up.

All of the songs are currently--and possibly *forever*--exclusive to this disc, so don't expect to find them in the DLC updates. According to an article I read online, AC/DC refuses to put out individual tracks (either in music games like Rock Band or Guitar Hero, nor individual mp3s found in services like iTunes) because they consider themselves a 'full-album band'... which is an unusual attitude to have, but I get it, I guess.

The only qualm I really have with this Track Pack is that, since it uses the Rock Band 1 system, you need to play through a Career-style menu in order to unlock each song. (Eg. You start off with Song 1 and can't advance until you beat it, which then unlocks Song 2 to play.. then Song 3.. and Song 4, etc.) Although, once you've completed all of the songs, they're yours to play in Quickplay, but don't expect to be able to create your own tracklist once you have unlocked them all--you'll need the Rock Band 2 functions for such things.

Luckily, the game comes with a one-time use transfer code--as mentioned in the description--to let you download the entire set as one giant file to your 360's harddrive for use with either Rock Band game in the series (and supposedly future Rock Band games as well, but we'll see about that), keep in mind that you'll need to connect to Xbox Live Marketplace to use the transfer code however.

Pinball Hall of Fame: The Williams Collection Review

Pinball Hall of Fame: The Williams Collection
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I have been waiting for this game for months and I finally got my copy one day after release thanks to prime shipping from Amazon. The main reason I wanted this game was becuase of "Funhouse".I was addicted to that game back in my freshman year of college (1991-92) as we had it in our dorm's common area. That game caused many people to skip classes and skip dinner just so they could put Rudy to sleep and nail him in the mouth with the pinball! So much fun!

So, to the game, my expectations were rather low due to the fact that it was delayed for so long.Usually, that means there are problems.Well, 5 minutes after opening it, I was back in college playing Funhouse again. Now, there is nothing like playing pinabll on a real machine but the physics employed by this game are rather astounding in my opinion.Everything that I remember about the original game was in this. The one thing that may have been different is the sound of Rudy's voice.Maybe its the simulated surround sound I am using on my home theater for the WII or maybe they just couldn't get the original Rudy!

As far as the other games, I was not too familiar with them but I did play a few including Gorkon and Space Shuttle.I enjoyed them a lot and found them to have their own interesting set of challenges.

The overall game has several modes to it.There is a simple go to the arcade mode where you can play most of the games (although I think some are locked). As you play, you have certain challenges to complete like get a certain score or hit this or that. When you achieve these, it may give you the opportunity to unlock another game or give you more credits (you need credits to play some games and you start with 20...but it is very easy to get more).

I played the Challenge mode where you play each pinball machine where you have to achieve a certain score before moving to the next machine. You get three tries on each machine to get the score or the challenge ends.I made it to the fourth machine (Funhouse) but, ironically, I couldn't get the required score to move on.

There is a tournament mode but I did not try that yet but it appears you can play with only one person.I assume you must play against AI somehow.

There is another mode that I could not open as I hadn't built enough credits yet so I can't comment on that yet.I will post an update as I progress in the game.

Overall, for $30, this is going to provide me with hours and hours of enjoyment.Funhouse alone is worth it to me but having the variety of games on there really increases the longevity of this game. The sounds make you feel like you are at an old arcade and the games seem to replicate the machines just like the originals.

Rayman Raving Rabbids TV Party Review

Rayman Raving Rabbids TV Party
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Rayman and the Rabbids are back! We own both the first and second of this game, and you'll see much of the game's format has stayed the same. In this edition, Rabbids have taken over the television and all its channels, leaving it up to you to win the games in different timeslots on different channels with catchy titles like Trash TV and Macho TV. Win a game in each timeslot, and you earn a new day with new games to play. We have played Monday and are working on Tuesday. New for this edition is the Wii Balance Board games. Know using the board is optional, and all games can be played without. However, be ready to calibrate the board before each mini-game. As a mom of a 5 and 6 year old, I have to agree with the previous reviewer. You should preview all games before deciding whether to let your little ones in on the fun. This edition seems to be a little more edgey and obnoxious than the previous ones. For example, one of the games is called Pimp my Rabbid, and even though you just dress the Rabbids as directed, I don't want to explain or add pimp to the boys' vocabulary. :-) As in the past, you don't win by being nice to the other players, so there's no cooperative play. It's every Rabbid for him/herself. Be prepared for body humor (think fart rockets! and laxative commercials) and some comical violence. However, if it all works for you, then this is non-stop fun. The games are fun and mostly originals, and I love finding the comparisons to real life shows. There's a Cult Movie channel that's on Monday's line up that asks you to shoot chickens in a graveyard as two rabbids are being chased by zombies. I don't know why, but these simple games are addicting, and use of the balance board makes them more so. For example, in one game you mow over your opponent with a tractor on a race track. The balance board is used like the gas and brake pedals to accelerate and skid. In another game, you surf on an ironing board and the balance board really makes it feel all that more real. Another example is when you sit on the board to slide down a snow covered mountain on the stomach of a Beast in a game called Beestie Boarding. So as I said, obnoxiously charming and addictive! Just beware it may not be suitable for your kids, but that's for you to decide. Rave on!

Just a few of the mini-games in Rayman Raving Rabbids TV Party thattake advantage of the Wii Balance Board are: 'Beestie Boarding', a wild winterride down obstacle filled slopes astride an inverted wildebeest, and 'Gardenof Weeden', where you use the Balance Board to pour weed killer on overgrownvegetation. Double Your Fun in Party Mode

In addition to a full simultaneous four-player co-op and battle mode it also features an all-new, powerfully fun, party mode. Capable of supporting up to eight players in local play through a turn-based system and allowing for players with remotes, waiting their turn on the sidelines to interfere in the progress of the current player, it opens a whole new layer of chaos to the already chaotic world of Rayman Raving Rabbids.
