They are: A) the Deckbuilder, that lets you build, analyze, and control decks to your heart's content. This deckbuilder is awesomely powerful, and contains every single feature I could think of -- it'samazing what they packed in here. B) the listing and viewing of everysingle card in the Encyclopedia section, that lets me just scroll throughcards and compare them to the "real" ones I have in front of meon my play-mat. The fact that everything -- even Mercadian Masques -- ishere, really kicks!And C) the Online Play section I think is doneperfectly, because it doesn't constrain your style of play -- you just goonline and get rocking with a friend. I really like the fact that they'verespected how people really play Magic, and I can play championship decksagainst other people, and I can play decks built from any cards ever made-- I don't have to worry about buying the card -- I can just build a deckand play it.This product is really incredible !

Fullmetal Alchemist and the Broken Angel Review

(More customer reviews)For people that arent aware this game goes hand in hand with the Fullmetal Alchemist anime series.So if you havent seen that and are planning to get this game then i'd hold off on that.With that being said for the amount time it took me to finish this game. I believe that it was time maybe not well spent but it wasnt a waste of time either. I only had a couple issues with the game one being the controls are a bit on the wacked out side and the other being the AI of your character partner.I dont know how many times.I was screaming at the TV for him to come to my aid and he keeps saying "okay" like a thousand times and wouldnt come over.Or he would and i'd be trying to get around him and he's blocking my path.

I mean dont get me wrong i did enjoy being able to change items into different ones and make new weapons to own the various enemies that you face.But for me to have a partner they should be actively contributing to the battle not watching me.Get swarmed by a horde of enemies not that they were hard.But what's the point.The story again follow the anime series so you kind of need to get into that beforehand, graphics are decent not really top notch but crappy.The levelling system didnt seem like it made any real difference in the game to me.

I rarely ever had problems getting past an enemy or a level.Only a rare occasion usually due to my own error.Was able to finish the game in a few sittings.I got sucked in by the story and when it was all said and done.I feel that it was an okay purchase, but i wouldn't pay 49.99 for it.I'd wait til it was cheaper or rent the game over a long weekend.

Hope the second one is a bit better than this one.

This game is basically a combination of Magic the Gathering and Age of Mythology (or Warcraft).It's a real time strategy game, but instead of collecting resources needed to "cast" items, you collect energy needed to "cast" cards from your 20-card deck.

I did not beta test the game -- I bought it on its release date.The game has a very small community, and I worry that it may be too small.But the community is engaged, active, and much more articulate than what you'd find in a typical MMO.I spent $100 on the game and some cards, and that's PLENTY.I don't have everything, but I have enough to build very competitive decks.Executing those decks competitively is another matter...

THE GOOD:

1.It's a collectible card game, and I love collecting cards.One can spend hours studying the 200 available cards, tinkering with decks, etc.That's almost as fun as playing the game.I'm already addicted to my desks.

2.The game has both PvE (player versus computer) and PvE (plater versus player) maps.If you're up for a quick challenge, play PvP.Want to relax and play slow?Try PvE.Games are short enough to be manageable if you have a family to care for (my average games are 5-25 minutes).

3.There are only 200 cards for now.That's plenty.I quit playing MTG because there were like 3453767634 cards.It was impossible to keep up.

4.Gameplay has been great.I've never crashed, never noticed a bug, and have thoroughly enjoyed the graphics and play.It truly is a fun experience.

THE BAD:

1.There appears to be a shortage of things to do long-term once the PvE missions are completed.At that point, as far as I can tell, you're stuck with PvP if you want to do something new.

2.You can't practice against the computer on the PvP maps.Why is this a problem?Because if you're new to the game like me you'll get utterly destroyed in your first 10-20 PvP matches.But you still gain experience points for those matches, and I believe you're seeded against opponents based on your experience points (if I'm wrong, please correct me via comments).So you end up getting killed time and time again but keep getting seeded against better and better players. You can practice PvP in a "non-ranked" sparring mode, but I get crushed there even more often than I do when I'm seeded according to my ranking. It sure would be nice to practice tactics on the PvP maps against the computer (or even accessing the PvP maps without an opponent).That leads me to my third complaint:

3.The community is too small.I sometimes have to wait 15 minutes for the computer to find me an opponent.That's not because I'm seeded so low.It's because there are only 20 or so other people available to play.

4.The manual is way too sparse and the game's website doesn't have enough information about actual gameplay.I had to post forum questions just to get simple answers about how the game works.Despite the "bads," this game was certainly worth my money and I'm happy I'm a part of it.I would recommend it wholeheartedly to any former MTG player who likes RTS games and can readily shell out $50 for the game and at least another $20-$40 for extra cards.

Magic the Gathering: Duels of the Planewalkers Review

(More customer reviews)I began playing the card game several years ago, and when the PC software came out, I knew I had to have it. I have just about worn mine out playing it over and over again. I would say it is a must have game, but since the online version was released they have shown no interest in upgrading this version. Therefore, if you are running Windows 2000 or XP, or plan to upgrade soon then you are out of luck as far as enjoying this marvelous game. I recently upgraded to XP and now I wish I hadn't. Only the oline version works on a newer OS, but you have to buy electronic cards. This really ..., especially for those of us who started out playing the original game and spent hundreds of dollars on the cards already.
In closing, the game is awesome and if you have Windows 95/98 and plan to stick with that OS for a while then definitely add this to your gaming collection. Windows 2000 & XP users, on the other hand, are just out of luck!

Divinity II: The Dragon Knight Saga Review

(More customer reviews)If you're a fan of older RPGs, you'll likely love this game.The combat and loot are reminiscent of Diablo, where you've got a set of skills and mash the mouse button to attack, while collecting all sorts of ridiculously named equipment.The roleplaying is menu-based like traditional RPGs, and the writing is absolutely excellent--not to mention that for a small cost, you can mindread any NPC to gain new insights, quest information, or just to find out how terrible a day they're having.

The sense of exploration is absolutely excellent, and you could spend 30 hours beating the game and still only have seen half of the content there is to offer.Almost everywhere you go, there's something special to do--the one exception is the Flying Fortresses, but thanks to the redesign that the campaign got in DKS, you can fly right past the boring areas.

The setting is very strongly fantasy, unlike the more muted and serious settings that are prevalent in recent games, and despite this, it never really becomes cliche or boring.The writers manage to create a magical world that doesn't feel like the exact same world we've seen again and again.The quests are well-designed, and some of the puzzles are actually truly challenging.Topping all this off is a strong, witty sense of humor.

If you think that writing and exploration are paramount to an RPG, you'll likely love Divinity 2.

(More customer reviews)I love this game!Okay so I am a Magic addict, not only that but I am female which I have found out is a rare creature in the realm of Magic, and it's many mysteries.This game is great fun, especially if you don't getto play the card game very often.There are two ways of playing, you canmake up your own deck and then play against the computer or you can use theinteractive part of the game and go into the land of Shandalar and try anddefeat the five Wizards, each Wizard representing a different land type.This works in a similar way to playing the computer but in this way you cancollect rare and unique card along the way to boost the basic set you areallocated with.There are four levels, Apprentice, Magician, Sorcerer andWizard.I would recommend that if you are a beginner go as an apprenticebecause it is easier.Playing on the Wizard level is like playing in areal tournament, and can be exceedingly frustrating! Apprentices play witha one-colour deck rather than mixed colours, which makes an easier game allround.Like in the card game, the computer version gives its cards thesame strength and weaknesses.Blue being based on spells and magic, greenbeing earthy and fast etc.The graphics are good, as are the sound effectsand you feel you are actually getting a prize when you win cards off thecreatures you challenge.You can go around Shandalar picking up extracards by trading amulets that you are allocated at the start of the game,or buy buying them with gold that you win, steal, or are given.It's a fungame, that is totally addictive.I have been told there is an expansionpack available but I have yet to find it.All the same it is a greatcomputer game and well worth having if you love Magic and want to play thegame on your own.

I was able to load these onto my netbook and then play them without the cd.
(You need an external cd player to load them, but then they will play on the netbook without the cd player hooked up)
