(More customer reviews)When WWF Smackdown! made it's groundbreaking debut, it amazed some, and others didn't like it.It's obvious pros were graphics and the surprising new match of Special Referee, which is used as getting back at those who stabbed you in the back, or vice versa.There were some cons such as no commentary, and not that much choice in Create-A-Wrestler. It probably wont make any difference to those when it's sequel, WWF Smackdown! 2:Know Your Role hits shelves across the country (supposed release is Tuesday the 21st). Smackdown 2 will have about twice as many wrestlers as there were in the origional (that's about 60 wrestlers), plus a much more updated Create-A-Wrestler feature.Some of the new matches in Smackdown! 2 are the Ladder Match, Table Match, ---- in a Cell, and (the match that has to be unlocked first) the Tables, Ladders, and Chairs match.In addition to some of what you're expecting, you'll get a Create-A-Manager mode, where you pick between Chyna, Steven Richards and others to walk to the ring with you and cause disturbance.You also get a Create-A-Taunt mode, where you go frame-by-frame moving certain body parts certain ways, so you can do the Y-M-C-A, or give the crowd the finger while doing a russian dance.Finally, there are double-moves you can execute, an interactive announcer's table you can slam an opponent's head into and break it by doing some strong moves.There is way too much more to talk about, and not enough room to write about.So I'll go out saying I hope you liked my quick summary of the game, and I also hope you enjoy the game.

Plus season is gonna be roaming mode that's right u get 2 walk around backstage during season and u can go to vince or the commishoners office and get a match. see the hardcore champ and want his belt beat him up pin him and it's yours cause of the 24/7 rule. see 2 guys fighting in the ring don't like 1 go do your special on him. plus there gonna have newcomers. such as rhyno,tajiri,justin credible,raven,etc. Fully useable tables set up in corner and gore someone set up behind you and do a backdrop. i got 2 words for ya MUST BUY!

(More customer reviews)This is a great start for what I hope is a new series of wrestling games.Although it's very limited in match types and features, the inside the ring action is really fun.

Pros:
* Controls like the old WCW vs NWO Revenge games:
Weak grapple then the face buttons for moves or Strong grapple then the face buttons for moves.
* It's not a huge reversal fest like TNA Impact
* The wrestlers themselves look very cool and move really nice in the ring.
* Suicide dives out of the ring are awesome
* Submissions are easy to execute and understand
* 30ish fighters to use

Cons:
* Very bare bones: no title defense in exhibition
* No titles worn to the ring during quick ring entrances
* Super limited match types
* Only 4 Creation slots

People seem to be comparing this to TNA Impact but it's almost nothing like it.The in ring action is way more smooth and more "No Mercy" like.If you are a hard core wrestling game fan like me, you might like it.Just don't expect crazy amounts of polish and options.

It has a lot of modes such as Ladder Matches(Single Player and Tag Team), Survival Mode where you battle against 100 opponents in an effort to go 100-0, A Steel Cage Match and the Main Mode for the Single Player. The career mode allows you to choose wrestling for 7 titles including World, European, Hardcore, Womens and more. Angles play out with-in the mode depending on whom you choose to align with or go against, attacks can be set up against you in backstage areas or interferences can help you if aligned with somebody. The Smackdown Mall is another extensive feature as it allows you to gain points upon completion of matches and Title victories and lets you access hidden wrestlers, extra costumes and more. A slight word of caution though, when having 4 wrestlers on screen the game can slow down a little bit due to the amount of activity happening at worse. It's bearable but it may turn some gamers off. Another word of caution is that the game tends to lose information unless it's saved. Therefore, any Created Wrestlers or Championship Mode games may be erased if not saved after every match or every creation. This may just be a glitch in the game or it could be an error looked over by Asmik but it's a precaution. However, not all games have this glitch so it's unknown if the games will be called back(Like Perfect Dark) and the bug will be fixed.

Weapons also abound, and now these items can behurled around, even from the floor to the ring, where they're likely to hit aclueless opponent. As stated, the game plays just like Wrestlemania 2000--meaning the samedegree of slowdown and questionable artificial intelligence. The slowdownparticularly hampers the game when many wrestlers take the ring at once; itseems that this title pushes the Nintendo 64 to the limit, as far as on-screenaction goes.
But the game's good points more than outweigh its bad, and, all told, NoMercy will satisfy wrestling fans who are looking for a taste of theirfavorite male melodrama. --Robb Guido

Arcade meaning that you press forward, forward punch to perform a move. There are only eight true to life superstars, Bret Hart, the Undertaker, HBK, Razor Ramon, Doink the Clown, Bam Bam Bigelow, Yokozuna, Lex Luger and one hidden superstar, so you may get bored with frequent matches. There are some incredible animations though, but it does get goofy though, with hit combinations, Lex Lugers arm turning into a mace, Bam Bam Bigelow is capable to light his opponents on fire with a diving head butt and other such odd things. Playstation makes great use of the sound qualities and the game has crystal clear sound and voiceovers from Vince McMahon and Jerry Lawler doing commentary. The commentary might get repetitive to most people so the game even has the crowd scream things, boo and chant during the match. There is a Road to Wrestlemania mode for single players, which pits you in singles, two on one and three on one-handicap matches. It can get frustrating and tedious to go through those matches. The two player mode only has a huge battle royal mode in which a tag team together tries to defeat 12 wrestlers which come in one after another. While playing the two player mode can get annoying, because once you beat someone you must wait for the game to load as a new superstar runs out.

WWE Raw Review

(More customer reviews)Maybe it's because I recently revisited my past by playing Commodore 64 games but WWE Raw for PC has some really outstanding graphics for a PC game. There are different matches to choose from: Single, Tag Team, Hardcore, Triple Treat, Fatal Fourway, King Of The Ring, all championship belts are up for grabs and more options than I care to even exercise. It is old in the since that characters are from 1 year ago and that may be reflected in the price. Raven walks down the ramp with a shopping cart of harcore items and Perry Saturn walks down with Moppy.
My only lament is that it seems the game is an Xbox conversion rather than a made for PC game as evident is the lack ofmultiple keyboard keys to enter in a wrestler's name.
Pentium 500 Minimum, 64MB RAM,128 MB required for Windows XP.

Ofcourse there is a stigma that this game is for perverts (the half naked anime girls help create that stigma), but it's actually a really good game. I found the wrestling to be brutal&funny, and I found the story mode to be hilarious & Corny & Creative.

For wrestling fans, I found Rumble Roses to have the best submission system for any wrestling game I have seen to date. I also like the heel/face system of the game. The heel/face system of the game lets you choose whether your wrestler will be good or evil. The good and evil characters have different moves, story modes, and ring entrances (which adds more fun to the game).

Being an old Nintendo gamer from the 80's, this game reminds me how far video games have progressed. In my day your had to imagine what your 8 bit charaters looked like. Now, not only can you cleary see your characters face, but you also see facial expressions and a moving mouth. Graphics=5

Fun Factor=4.5
Replay value=4
Controls=4

Total=4.3 STARS

Not sure why this game is rated M. It's pretty tame compared to games like Grand Theft Auto and Blood Rayne. The outfits are pretty revealing, but I don't think this game deserves an M.

Players are able to change the personalities of their wrestlers through their actions in the ring, which then translates into changes in costume, attitude, and wrestling style options. Insults and taunts prove a lot more important here than in your typical wrestling title too, and many of the maneuvers are said to leave opponents in, what we will call, "compromising positions".

little crowd(PS2 and Xbox 360 have full crowd),
characters look very un-detailed(PS2 and Xbox 360 look like real people).

Pros:
good gameplay,
easy to play,
kinda fun(until you lose),
loading time isn't that slow like 2006,
and fun,

This game is great but hopefully 2008 will have a full crowd,announce table, and better looking people.

The Good:

Great Visuals:Detailed entrance themes and realistic wrestling moves and finishers.

Storylines:The 24/7 Mode, which is a career mode offers many entertaining storylines and surprises.I won't spoil it by listing all of them here, but in Smackdown Career, you can participate in a Fatal 4-Way Ladder Match to see who gets a case with movie contract.

Great Variety of Matches:Most Match Types are here from last year, but also a lot of ECW-style matches are added, like ECW RUles Hardcore Match where you can use new variety of objects, such as kendo sticks and flaming tables.

Replay Value:Along with a lenghty 24/7 Careeer Mode, you can always come back and do it all over again as a wrestler from another brand to experience different storylines.There is also a Legends Mode, which reminds me of Madden 08's Superstar Mode, where you have to relive some of WWE's greatest moments and do them on your own:Use Stone Cold to defeat Bret Hart and even enter Royal Rumble as Shawn Michaels with #1 entry and try to win the whole thing on the hardest setting.

Skill Improvement:Unlike last year where you only play week-to-week, in here you make moves every day.You can spend your days off just chillin, getting rest, or you can use them to improve your skills or try to make money, shoot a movie or compete in a training excerise.However, too many physical activities may land you an injury and fatigue.

Roster:A huge roster filled with most of today's superstars and even some that are no loger in WWE: Cryme Tyme and even TNA's Booker T is in the line-up as well.Hall of Fame unlockables are:Breat Hart, Anvil Neidhart, Rick Rude, Mick Foley, The Rock and many more.Oh and of course, ECW wrestlers join in as well.
The Bad:

Audio:While some voices are realistic, some voice-acting have been performed by generic-voiced actors.I swear that both JBL and Joey Styles are both voiced by the same voice-over.Many wrestlers don't sound like themselves at all!

Load Times:I have played this on my new Slim PSP and while the loading times seem to improve over when I played 2007 version on the classic PSP, the loading times still feel a bit annoying when you want to experience a fast-paced action.

Unrealism:Some wrestlers act out of their kayfabe wrestling character.I have played 24/7 Mode with Kane and during some storylines he would walk around backstage, shaking hands, smiling and telling jokes, which does seem to be out of the Kane character.They should've made a separate storylines for "Monster/Heel" characters that rarely talk.Bottom Line:If you are a wrestling fan, it will be hard to dodge this title.However, even if you are not a wrestling fan, this will still be worth a look if you like fighting games.

First, you can only use 5 wrestlers in the "Road to Wrestlemania" Triple H, Undertaker, CM Punk, Jericho and Mysterio/Batista (Together) I bought this game Monday evening and have already finished 4 of the 5 story modes. When you start a RTWM you don't start out right after mania like in the past games, you start out a month or so before the Royal Rumble and go from there to Wrestlemania.From the ones I've played so far only the Triple H one was sort of exciting to me, Cena's was WAY Stupid so was Jericho's.
There are TONS of codes out for the game, you have two STUPID ppl added to your list of wrestlers when you complete Jericho and Cena's RTWM. a Army guy named Tony and a guy named Masked Man....GAY
Other then that i do like alot of the new wrestlers and holds on the game. I recommend renting this game before you buy it. Oh and one last negative thing about the game, it is Super easy to win matches in story mode, Nothing has really changed since last years game.The controls, feel and everything is the same.Only differance is the sort of updated list of wrestlers and the Inferno Match.

Tag Team matches are emphasized in Smackdown vs. Raw 2009, and there are many new additions to make the game more realistic and fun. Players can now perform double teams on opponents, such as having one player hold an opponent against the ropes while on the apron, or pulling down on ropes while an opponent is running to send them out of the ring. And there are now different ways of tagging in, such as the forced blind tag and reversible hot tag. Teams also get team-specific finishing moves that are incredibly satisfying to perform.


In addition to tag matches, there are 14 one-on-one match types including the Inferno, Gauntlet, Falls Count Anywhere, Steel Cage and Ladder matches, and even a Backstage Brawl.


Road to Wrestlemania Mode
The single player Road to Wrestlemania mode offers a deep and diverse story line that is filled with brand defections, team building, and strategic alliances. You can choose from Triple H, CM Punk, The Undertaker, John Cena, and Chris Jericho to play in this single-player mode. (More customer reviews)I was skeptical about getting this after SVR 2008 was so bad in terms of match varieties, but this game is great. There still isn't a lot of variation in moves from wrestler to wrestler, but they have all the finishing moves down and it's fun to move the Wii remote to do the moves.

The big improvement this year is not one, but two career-type modes. Road to Wrestlemania is a lot of fun with customized storylines. It's fairly short (spans 3-4 months) and you can only choose from 6 wrestlers, but it really is cool to see new original storylines. In the other career mode (actually called "Career Mode,") you can be anyone and it's much longer. I haven't played the "Career Mode" much yet, but it looks like it will be just as much fun as the Road to Wrestlemania. It's nothing like the lame Main Event mode they had last year, but it does seem to be much more match-driven than story-line-driven. Road to Wrestlemania is the other way around.

Finally, they included much more match types than last year. These include: TLC, tables, ladder, hell in a cell, royal rumble, back stage brawl (which is kinda lame cause it can be really short), and falls count anywhere, among others.
