-Had no problems with it, been using it for almost half a year.

-I cant say that its a flaw but I have to remove the mouse every time I goto sleep as the red light stays on and it stands out damn well in the dark.

-It does have some issues with Linux (Ubuntu). It needs to unplugged and pluged after startup for Linux to recognize the mouse. But all the 7 buttons have the same default configuration in Linux and the work fine after the mouse has been repluged in.

-Considering the linux incompatibility and also the low amount of such high sensitive mouse in linux, I might give the mouse 4.9 rating. So I have to go for a 5 as thats the closest.

(More customer reviews)I like keys that click, most people don't yet they make almost none the only keyboard I ever had was the 2001 sum such form an old nineties computer, but this one has those keys again, but even more sturdy and robust.The response time(low latency) is just as advertised and you can use it for more than just games I am typing this with far less fluster than most of my "high-end" indi-glow blu "gaming keyboards" could dream of. no bulk no indi-glow blu lights, no frilly looks, just performance and a sturdy large set of keys and a deep stroke for gamers(who are rough on equipment anyway).play FPS and RTS in the same form as in EEZILY! the respones and feel of this device has to be experienced I can't explain further!the keys can be revoved for a different color as in distinguishing a critical key to a non crit also don't mistakingly put a num key pad "1" to the "1" that goes above WAPS or you'll be tugging to get it free(not that it seems to damage this arnold schwartzaneiger of a keyboard).pair it with creative's Fata1ity 2020(NOT 1010) and you'll have a complete input set for the gaming rig just remember, 2020 is a short squat little mouse and a Danny Divito(referenced somewhere) sized mouse and an Arnold Schwartzneiger Keyboard is an odd thing!

Razer Diamondback Plasma Limited Edition - Ice Blue Review

I bought this mouse for ergo reasons. And because I spend enough of my life at the computer that there's no reason to have anything other than the hottest equipment.

I switched from the Logitech MX-510, the other hot gamer's mouse series. They're functionally very similar, but the Razer Diamondback has been far superior (for me) in practice! Here's the breakdown:

Razer Diamondback pros:
- Better ergo I: Smaller size that fits more naturally in your palm, in better "at rest" position, than the Logitech. (At least for my desk and my hand.)
- Better ergo II: Also, the way your fingers rest on the (slip-proof) main mouse buttons is more relaxed. In particular, it feels like I'm easily using my whole finger. The Logitech in comparison was awkward, felt like I was using only part of my finger, or never quite was settled right.
- More buttons, or at least more buttons available for reasonable use.
- Left and Right side buttons much more comfortable to click.
- More programmable? At least in practice, more easily programmable, so I did customie more.
- Great driver and control panel applet to set options for the mouse. This really helped me get more use out of it.
- Nice work on software details; e.g. "on-the-fly sensitivity" adjustment, without going back to Control Panel, just with controls on the mouse.

Logitech MX-510 pros:
- The Logitech has two buttons, one each above and below the scroll wheel, that mean "keep scrolling in that direction." So you roll the wheel in one direction, and when your finger hits the end of the roll, you can just move to the button right there to say "keep going." Nice. I'll miss that. (But I've already adjusted the scroll speed conveniently several times on the Razer to where I'll miss it less; I never (or at most once?) adjusted the scroll speed on the Logitech.)

These kinds of choices can be very personal. But in my experience, you couldn't get me to go back to the Logitech now.

(More customer reviews)there - I've gotten my list of cons pretty much out of the way.For a wired keyboard this is one of the best that I've used.I read some "professional" reviews AFTER I'd ordered it and feared that I made a mistake in ordering it, based on their criticisms.I will have to agree with the real world users here on Amazon - this keyboard is GREAT.I have large fingers and this is a compact keyboard.However, if you're used to using a laptop or a netbook you'll find the keys to be well spaced, with good response and a tactile feel. Some keys aren't where you're used to them - Home, End, Delete, Insert, and Num Lock come to mind - but you get used to it very quickly if this is your main keyboard.I wish the "0" key were larger but I'm coming from a laptop keyboard that didn't have a number pad so having one at all really works for me.I wish the lighting were adjustable as some of the newer ones are, but I could have paid twice as much and gotten that.It came down to a choice; I wanted a lighted keyboard that was within my current budget that would be easy for me to type on.In that regard, I got exactly what I was looking for.Highly recommended if you're looking for the same...

(More customer reviews)This is the first mousepad i've ever owned that cost more than $8 and it is well worth it. i use it with a logitech g9 mouse and it is very nice. i thought i'd be using the speed side of this pad but i have come to find that my mouse feels much smoother on the control side and is also quieter. some have said that this is big, really big. yeah i guess so, but i have a relatively compact corner desk and it still fits just perfectly on it. i don't use the included wrist pad. i hate those things. i threw this one on the floor and now my cat likes to sit on it so it serves a purpose elsewhere. overall, this is very nice and seems to be built very tough. get it.

My computer is midrange. I have a 3.0 Ghz P4, 200GB Hard drive, 1.5gig PC3200 RAM, and a GeForce 6600GT. This places me at the slightly above average range for computers, as I understand it.

The original mouse I used was the stock Gateway ballmouse. Disgusted with it very quickly, I bought a Kensington Optical Mouse. This mouse lasted a little while until one day it mysteriously started dying on me (about a year to a year and a half later).

I replaced it with a Logitech MX610..I'd always wanted a wireless mouse and did not want to spring the extra fourty dollars for an MX1000.

Bad move.

The mouse was terrible for gaming -- mainly I play WoW, Oblivion, and Dawn of War, as well as a touch of Half-Life and Halo. Disgusted with wireless mice almost immediately, I purchased the Razer Copperhead (Tempest Blue) and the Razer Exact pad after reading multiple reviews comparing it, the MX518, and the G5 gaming mouse, and going to my local Best Buy to "field test" (get a feel for) all of the mice. After extensive field testing, I decided that the Razer was the one for me.Now onto the mouse itself:-First Impression-
Right out of the box, this bad boy came equipped to do battle. After installing the firmware that came with the mouse, readying the Exact mousepad, and plugging this in, I found myself mousing at an incredibly improved speed. Not to mention my accuracy was almost dead on. I required a few small adjustments (toning the dpi down to 1600 instead of 2000, etc.) in order to keep myself from overshooting due to the sensitivity of the mouse.-Appearance-
The blue LEDs that surround the mouse look excellent in lit rooms and absolutely stunning in dark rooms. The tri-snake emblem on the top of the mouse pulses slowly and rhythmically. I cannot speak for the other colors, but the blue truly made my desktop a more exciting thing to look at.-Comfort-
The mouse took a little getting used to, I will fully admit. Its long, tapered buttons suited my large hands perfectly. However, the mouse is not overly bulky. It has a fairly low profile and has more of a delicate touch feel to it when mousing, as opposed to rough push feel of many mice. Moving your cursor is a simple task, with a gentle little flick of the wrist...it feels far more like you're guiding this mouse, instead of forcing it, if that makes sense.-Software-
Easy to use, easy to figure out, this software has it all. From minute adjustments to how sensitive your scroll wheel is to how fast you need to double-click the mouse in order for it to be recognized as a double-click, the mouse is infinitely customizable.-Hardware-
Solid and strong feeling, the mouse sticks to your hand nicely. Though it does feel a touch light and delicate, I'm a firm believer that it could take a hit and walk away from it (though why you would want to hit a 60-80 dollar mouse, I have no clue...) The low profile will also take many mouse users a little while to get used to, as every mouse I'd had before had a very high profile. Coupled with the gel wrist rest that can come with the Razer Exactpad though, you quickly forget how low profile it is.

The buttons on the top, as mentioned before, are incredibly convenient. The buttons on the side are not so much however. Being a right-hander, I found the mouse buttons on the lefthand side incredibly easy to reach and use. The righthand mouse buttons however, are nigh-impossible to use. My only guess is that one would use them for the stock setting (to switch dpi on the fly), and probably more likely that they are set there for symmetrical mouse usage by lefties.

The teflon feet that come stock on the bottom of this mouse make it slide over the mousepad like air. Though a bit light to me, you can customize this mouse to make it heavier by purchasing a Razer modification kit from Razer's homepage (costing between 10 and 15 dollars typically). However, using this repair kit voids your warranty.Conclusion (Pros):
- Visually Appealing
- Incredible Accuracy
- Software makes customizing mouse a very unique experience
- Comfortable Feel
- Low Profile helps cut down on wrist strain
- Top End Construction
- Teflon Feet a huge plusConclusion (Cons):
- Price is a deterrent
- Mouse buttons on at least one side will feel all but useless
- Adjusting to a gaming mouse of this quality takes TIME--- Overall ---

I could not be happier with the combination of mouse and mousepad I now have. A worthy buy? Absolutely. I rate it 5/5 stars...it's just that good.Edit: September 3, 2007: Over a year (pushing a year and a half!) later and I am still using the same mouse. Unfortunately I have only upgraded my video card (currently a 512mb 7900GT KO), so the processor and pc3200 ram are beginning to drag on newer games. I still play Battlefield 2142, F.E.A.R., etc, on full or nearly full resolution with no problem, however.

The mouse is continuing to function, even after having been dropped several times and the abuse of a 17 year old little brother who stays at my place to dogsit while I am out of town at work.

THE ONLY COMPLAINT I now have is that the teflon feet on the bottom of the mouse are beginning to wear out...I think I need to order more and replace them, as the ice-smooth sliding movement of the mouse has been roughed up quite a bit by the loss of the relatively frictionless feet. Other than that? No problems whatsoever. The driver still work fine, and the mouse is as crisp and responsive as ever!UPDATE: 11/19/2008 - Still using the same mouse and it is still responsive as ever. I am no longer playing any MMORPG games, but I still play Battlefield 2142, I have been playing Crysis lately, and I am anticipating Dawn of War 2.

The mouse is still working beautifully and holding up very well! This mouse has sealed my positive opinion of Razer. Notice I have had it over two years!

(More customer reviews)I would consider myself a hardware junkie and a heavy gamer.That said this is one of the better mouses I've used in years.Before I get into the positives if you do not prefer a flat mouse profile this mouse won't be for you.Look into the Microsoft Sidwinder or Logitech G5 or G9 as those offer a higher profile to fit your hand if that is your preference.

The type of games I mainly play are shooters (COD4 lately), Word of Warcraft, and a few RTS'ers.In shooters the mouse is great.Tracking is spot on and quick.The sensor stops tracking at a lower height than most mice so if you are the type that picks up and moves the mouse around a lot, this is your mouse.The scroll wheel has a solid click while scrolling so it makes it easy to select weapons.There is no side clicking on the wheel just your old school wheel.I did find the click-down on the wheel sensitive and hit it accidently a few times.

The left and right click buttons are a nice solid click.More to like a logitech MX5xx series or G5 series mouse rather than a super sensitive click like the MS mice can be.The side buttons are what make the mice for me.Using the Razer software you can program all 4 side buttons (2 on each side) easily.Button 5 and 6 plus macros can be assigned to those 4 in any order.This is a great thing for games like WoW if you need lots of hot keys since this adds two more possibilities on the right side of the mouse.However it takes a bit of dexterity to get used to using the right side buttons.

The software is quite handy.I never have been a fan of software programs that are put out for mice, but this one is very clean and doesn't seem to bog the system down much.Lots of options to customize here and you can have several profiles set.To switch through them there's a button on the bottom of the mouse that cycles through them or you can switch through in the program.The pulsing logo can be turned on or off as well as the light on the wheel.This is great for bedroom gamers that want to get some sleep.Overall this is a great gamer's mouse with lots of options and buttons to go along with it.

Razer BlackWidow Mechanical Gaming Keyboard - Full Retail US Layout Review

(More customer reviews)I purchased this keyboard direct from Razer since you can't seem to get it anywhere else at the moment.

The Razer Blackwidow is definitely quite different from any standard keyboard I had previously used. The keyboard I was using previously was the Razer Tarantula, which is Razer's first gaming keyboard. Compared to the Tarantula, the keys are much more tactile and make a significant noise when pressed, but quite honestly I enjoy it. Overall, it is a breeze to type on as long as you are not coming from a laptop. In that case, you may need some time to adjust to the way the keys feel when depressed.

Things I enjoy:
-Tactile feel
-Keyboard is hefty and feels like it will never break.
-Keys are easy to depress and really prevents mistypes.
-Keyboard size is much more portable for LAN's than other gaming keyboards i've seen.
-On-the-fly macros could come in handy, I just don't have a use for them yet.

My only gripes with the keyboard so far are:
-Compared to the Razer Tarantula, this keyboard has much smaller keys. This is more of an adjustment I must make on my part though.
-Razer advertised the MX Blue keyswitches as having a very small actuation distance which is true. But seeing as I depress the key all the way down in most cases, this doesn't make me any faster while gaming. If fact I almost seem slower, since I cannot press the keys as fast since it travels. I'm told thought that with practice you can learn to double tab keys without the need to fully reset the key, so I may just need a new technique.

Overall, I am rating this a 4 out of 5 with some room to grow. The keyboard feels great albeit different, there are no accidental button presses like some mechanicals, and Razer did a nice job building this product. It may just take a little time to adjust to the feel of the keys before i'm back to my A-game. For the price though, I highly recommend this for anyone looking to delve into mechanical keyboards.

Razer Orochi Bluetooth Notebook Gaming Mouse Review

(More customer reviews)I purchased this mouse after having lag issues with my Microsoft Mobile Memory Mouse over bluetooth.The MS mouse would lag behind my movements.Really bad when using my bluetooth headset on Skype or MS communicator.The Orochi totally fixed that issue for me! :)I recently bought a Razer Naga and was convinced of the quality of their mice.This is definitely a Razer mouse.Things you expect like a braided cable for wired mode, solid construction and the soft matte finish on the top with glossy sides are all there.

In thinking of a good way to review this mouse I realized a pattern.What I thought was my mobile mouse wish-list turned out to not be quite what I really wanted.The design of the Orochi had the features I didn't know I wanted.

It is a little larger than my previous mobile mouse, BUT it sits better in the hand and is more comfortable in long term use.
It isn't specifically ergonomically designed for right hand use, BUT the excellent ambidextrous design ends up feeling like it was custom designed for whatever hand you use.
It isn't rechargeable, BUT the AA batteries last longer.
The battery compartment is under the top buttons and not on the bottom, BUT it attaches via 3 magnets and is much easier to open/close.
Sure LEDs eat battery power, BUT they come on only when you move the mouse and go off when you stop (this is really fun to watch haha!) - note: you can also disable them for maximum battery life

There are a few key things to know when choosing this mouse

1) When not in wired mode the polling rate and dpi can not go as high.This is due to the bluetooth protocol design and not Razer's.They could have used a custom dongle like on the Mamba, but that would mean something else to carry and use to have wireless connectivity.Bluetooth was a good tradeoff.If you want ultimate performance, plug in the cable.You've got it in your included carrying case right?

2) The mouse's settings are stored on the mouse itself (very cool).If you want to reprogram them you have to plug in the cable.Again a tradeoff for bluetooth.Not bad, just something to be aware of.You can have 5 application profiles which change according to the game/app in use (or manually).

3) There are two buttons on each side.The ones on the opposite side from your thumb are not so easy to reach in the heat of action.This however allows for the ambidextrous design.By default these step through your pre-defined dpi sensitivity stages and are well designed to stay that way or use for actions you don't need as frequently.

I'm grasping to think of any real "con" against this mouse.If I had to say two things I would like changed it would be:Make it so the wheel can both ratchet and free-scroll (I got used to free scrolling when not gaming) and have the side buttons not recess quite so far as the bottom edge of the top matte part is kind of sharp.

If you are looking for a portable sized gaming mouse or have a Razer on your desktop already and want to take the experience with you pick one up!

Small update:
I just got my Kabuto mouse surface and I noticed that the on/off switch on the bottom of the mouse is a bit loose in the on position.This won't make it accidentally turn off, but it does make it jostle around a little on a surface that isn't perfectly flat (the kabuto is a bit bumpy from being rolled up in the package).This doesn't affect the mouse use or performance at all, just makes a little rattling noise when mousing.

(More customer reviews)This is a great mouse for RTS and overall a near perfect item.I rarely give 5 stars but this is an extremely high quality item.I gave it a 4/5 on comfort because I bought it to use fingertip grip which I don't think is a very comfortable way to use a mouse.However, this mouse makes fingertip grip more comfortable than on others I've tried.I've tried Logitech mx500, g500, LMO, salmosa mini and could not fingertip grip them at all comfortably while this mouse makes it pretty comfortable.The mouse has prediction / mouse smoothing / angle snapping whatever you call it turned off which is great.I have had no acceleration problems with it although I don't use the large mousepad palm style that I used to with FPS games so I probably wouldn't notice them if they were there.As for the complaints that it doesn't work with certain mousepads I think the incident rates of that are extremely low.I use a goliathus control and have had 0 problems.It's extremely lightweight, only beaten by a salmosa mini or a LMO with the weight removed.You can definitely claw grip this mouse or even palm it though your entire palm will likely not contact the mouse which may not be a bad thing.I often claw or palm it without realizing it during casual browsing so it is a comfortable way to hold the mouse.The mouse does not need any drivers which is great.Just flip it to 1,000hz and whatever DPI you want and you're good to go.I like the mouse wheel quite a bit.It is very firm and is lower on the mouse than normal.I feel a lot more comfortable using it as a mouse3 button than on any other mouse I've tried.The texture is very good.I was concerned it would be too slippery but I have not found my fingers sliding out of position during play and also it allows for a certain rotation of the fingers which is needed for fingertip grip as you pull the mouse towards and away from you.The sides of the mouse are shaped like this < > but not nearly that extreme of an angle obviously.This allows for a good grip on the lower half of the mouse so you don't have to squeeze it so hard to pull it up off the mousepad to reposition.The top angle gives you a good resting place for your ring finger.That is definitely the most important ergonomic aspect of the mouse for me. With all the other mice I've tried there is often no clear place to put your ring finger, especially with fingertip grip. The liftoff distance is a little bit high compared to my g500 but still lower than most other mice I've tried.The only other thing I can think of to improve on is the angle and height that the mouse cord comes out of the mouse.It is just like other mice but I think that the cord should come out at a bit of an up angle so it doesn't catch on the mousepad as easily, especially when using a mouse bungee.Other than that it is really a great mouse.This mouse is only very slightly behind my mx510 overall and by far the best for RTS games.

Razer DeathAdder 3G Infrared Gaming Mouse Review

(More customer reviews)A gaming mouse (high dpi laser and wired rather than wireless) has a quickness and consistency that wireless laser mice just cannot match. I have owned a number of gaming mice over the years and while I have liked them all, I think this one is the very best so far.

The most important issue here is the shape of the mouse. The top (left and right) buttons of this mouse are a continuous part of its top surface rather than being separate buttons like on the Diamondhead or the Copperhead. For me, this is important because it makes the mouse feel much smoother when my hand rests on it. As a result, my hand rests more naturally on this mouse than any other.

Another important issue is the carefully thought-out shape of the basic right and left buttons on this mouse. Note that these buttons have a subtle up-and-out curvature that allows one's fingers to rest more naturally and to click faster and with greater precision than with the uniformly downwardly curved (or convex) buttons on mice made by manufacturers like, say, Logitech.

Previously, I liked the shape of the Microsoft 6000 gaming mouse (not to be confused with the ubiquitous Microsoft 6000 wireless mouse) the best. But the shape of this mouse is clearly better.

Many gamers do like the Logitech mice, but I have always felt that the curvature and shape the G5 and MX518 mice is a bit off. The problem is that the fingers do not rest as naturally relaxed and yet poised on a downwardly curved surface as they do on a surface with a slight and subtle upturn at the front edge of the basic right and left buttons.

Speed and control:
This mouse is extremely precise and it is easy to adjust its sensitivity with the proper drivers.

Vista Drivers must be downloaded:
My operating system is Vista Premium Home. While the print on the box that the mouse came in proclaimed that this mouse was Vista ready, it turned out that there were no Vista drivers on the CD ,so I had to download drivers from the manufacturers support site. This proved fairly easy though so I do not consider this a serious issue.

Adjustable Lights and the Look:
I do not like the purple lights on the wheel and on the logo that are always shown in the pictures of the Razer mice. Accordingly, I was delighted to realize that turning these lights off is a simple matter of clicking on two buttons in the driver setting panel. Once the lights have been turned off the mouse looks much plainer (and much better too in my opinion).

I was so used to the deathadder that I thought about getttng a mamba instead since its the same shell. I looked into the new 3500dpi deathadder as well, but wanted to go for the full 5600dpi...
Let me say that this mouse doesn't dissapoint. The ergonomic feel is more precise than the deathadder, much better than the log*tech line of gamer mice. The on the fly dpi buttons behind the wheel are a nice upgrade from the deathadder. The cable is braided and feels much stronger than that of older razer mice. The main thing that I was worried about was the smaller side buttons and the slider thing... I use the side buttons for a lot of games and these, though smaller, are just as easy to get to as the deathadder's side buttons. The slider is actually very useful for getting a more customized feel to the mouse. The sensor is very accurate, Though going full 5600dpi in windows for internet browsing, ect, is way to fast. I turn mine down to 2000dpi in for normal browsing and in games crank it up to 5600 in game. I play HL2DM and CSS and turned in game sens. down from 4.0 to 0.9 to get the same feel as the 1800dpi deathadder.
Overall this mouse is very good and I would definetly reccomend getting it if ur old deathadder needs to be retired like mine. 5/5 stars! Another great product from Razer!

Microsoft Reclusa Gaming Keyboard (Black) Review

This is a great keyboard. After a month of use, I've gotten used to the extra keys (at first, I was pressing macro keys instead of Ctrl/Shift) and I love the visual impact of its sleek design. The "throw" of the keys is perfect -- not too much like a membrane, and fairly quiet, but just the right amount of tactile response.

The backlighting is similarly impressive, enabling you to type/play in the dark (even touch-typists need to see, sometimes). The USB cord docking feature is very nice -- it allows you to have the cord snake out of three convenient positions along the backside of the keyboard.

I haven't really noticed an enhanced response rate between the keys and software, but it's certainly no slouch.

The volume control (top right dial) is a welcome addition -- but why not a "mute" button? I can't find a way to program a "mute" command via the Reclusa software.Now for some downsides.

The macro software is somewhat lackluster. It switches on-the-fly for running programs, but there are no presets (other than the defaults) -- you'll have to hunt for .EXE files and assign keys to their profiles. To top it off, there are only 5 profiles available. Most gamers would probably prefer dozens. One key ejects the CD/DVD -- not helpful during a game, to be sure. The mail/web browser keys are in the same boat -- why enable them for full-screen game software?

The ESC key is in an awkward position. It's somewhat blocked by the (otherwise pretty) top layer of translucent plastic.

It's too easy to hit the right (or left) side buttons with a mouse. Disabling them helps, somewhat.

To top it off, connecting a Razer Copperhead (mouse) in one of the USB "convenience" on the top left/right causes the keyboard to remain unresponsive when rebooting the host PC. Once fully booted, connecting the mouse works. Connecting other common devices (like a flashcard reader) sometimes results in a "low power" message in Windows XP.If not for the dismal support software and the fact that mine came with what looks like a small "blister" or crack under the top layer of translucent plastic, I'd call this an excellent gaming keyboard. If there was a chance the software would be improved, over time, I'd mark it higher, but most companies release completely new versions of hardware with software, nowadays, opting to never improve on the original versions for current customers. 3/5 stars, 4 if they improve the drivers.

*update: driver updated, fixes a few things. Wrist pad has since broken off -- build quality may be somewhat lackluster, here. Lighting is still excellent, but I notice a significant brightness difference between the (always-on) NumLock indicator and the (never on) CAPS LOCK lights. If your PC is on 24/7, the keyboard stays lit, so LED brightness apparently degrades, over time.

** Please consider this a 5/5 star review.For some reason, Amazon isn't allowing me to change that aspect of my review and I would like to keep the comments on this product review rolling. Sorry for any confusion this may cause. **My first impressions review of the Razer Naga was pretty grim.Having come from using a Logitech G7 for years prior, the Naga felt clunky at best and the complete lack of any key rebinding support for a mouse intended for MMO use left me scratching my head.In the days following that initial review, Wave of team Naga left me a comment (as seen in the comments section of this review) stating that they were intending to address the later with an upcoming driver release.A few months later, just as he had promised, version 2.0 hit... and it hit hard!

Before I get into all that, let me tackle the ergonomics.As I mentioned, at first I felt this mouse to be very clunky.Now, months later, I could not have been more wrong.When they said this mouse was designed for long gaming sessions with minimal hand fatigue, they meant it.My only real complaints in this department is about button placement.No, no, not the 12-button thumb pad... those are perfect!My beef is with the two additional index finger buttons, which for me, are at best awkwardly placed and at worst completely unusable.

But lets cut the nonsense, if you are reading this you care about one thing and one thing only... the 12 buttons on the side of this bad-boy.
I'll be straight with you, at first it is awkward as hell and comes with a bit of a learning curve.Don't expect to pick this mouse up and be some kinda of button-pressing Mozart by morning.Now months after my purchase I am still second guessing myself from time to time when reaching for the 8 and 9 key, mostly because I don't use them in very many games.As I alluded to earlier in this review, they are placed such that I don't have any issue at all reaching any one button (though 11 and 12 require a funky move that can mess with my cursor precision.)

The 2.0 driver also brought with it two additional features that came as a bit of a surprise to me... profiles and macros!The profiles are just what you would expect and though very basic in their functionality, the macros should get the job done nine times out of ten.If you are familiar with the Logitech G15 or Nostromo N52, then you know what I am talking about.If not, well, it's little more than pre-recorded keystrokes with custom delays between them.Nothing fancy, but far from useless.

Now that the issue of rebindable keys has been taken care of, I struggle to find anything at all wrong with this mouse.
If I absolutely had to give it a con, hmmm... I suppose it requires a bit more care than other mice in order to keep clean.Lots of buttons means lots of places for build up.Fortunately the fit/finish on this mouse is tight enough that cleanup is a breeze.

Razer Carcharias Gaming Headset (Black) Review

(More customer reviews)I must admit I was a bit put off by the price of this gaming headset and the lack of features.Other PC headsets such as the Logitech G35 and Senn's PC350 were priced more but came with more features and of course, a bigger brand name.But when it comes down to gaming and listening to music, you aren't really asking for a lot.The Razer Carcharias delivers what one would need to enjoy listening to music, and of course, long comfortable gaming sessions.

Out of the box, the Carcharias seems pretty normal, perhaps even a bit cheaply made.Padding is placed in appropriate places, including the headband and loudspeakers.The padding is exceptionally soft, especially around the loudspeakers where the material is felt-like.The thin plastic that covers part of the headphones may seem flimsy, but is very light.A nice mesh around the headphones is also present, and also takes away a bit of weight.A nice part of the construction is the wire that connects the speakers to the headband.It is not only quite sturdy, but also gives some range of motion without compromising that integrity.Speaking of wires, the cable for the headset itself is very lengthy (nine feet) and is braided in fiber.The mic is sturdy itself and can be turned 270 degrees.It is also bendable at the midsection to some degree.

No sense praising the construction if it isn't even comfortable, and this is the part where the Carcharias excels at.Placing these headphones on for the first time felt amazing, as if it was conforming to the shape of my head.Of course, I felt this way about many headphones at first, so naturally I decided to start up a few games (which easily lasted several hours), after which I listened to a few hours of music while studying.There was absolutely no discomfort at all after all that time.The lightweight construction and circumaural design is a real blessing to the ears.The headphones themselves are also very easy to adjust.

The audio quality for these headphones is quite exceptional, enough to justify wearing these headphones for hours.As probably mentioned, audiophiles may want to look elsewhere, but for the casual listener, the quality is more than good enough.Although the bass is quite deep ("boomy"), it does not overwhelm the treble.The highs for this headphones can be quite distinct (ie loud), and since the volume can go quite high on this thing, may be overwhelming sometimes.Much of this is perfectly suited to games, especially first-person shooters.Keep in mind that this headset does not provide surround sound, and never was intended to.You can take a look at the aforementioned models for that.

The noise-filtering mic for this headset works well.I tested it with Ventrilo, Skype, and Left 4 Dead, and others could hear me very well, with a noticeable lack of background noise from my side.I should note that I had the mic at its default positioning (no additional bending).It can be adjusted to be a bit closer or further.

Overall, the Razer Carcharias does its job as a gaming headset very well.I consider it Razer's best headset in terms of price vs performance; a step above the Mako, and better than the Barracuda and Megalodon.I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys long gaming sessions and listening to music.The comfort along with its exceptional audio quality and mic justifies the pricing; just don't expect any extra features.

Side note: I also think the name for this headset is awesome.As someone who's interested in cartilaginous fishes, I don't think they could have picked a better name.

Razer Deathadder 3500 High Precision 3.5G Infrared Gaming Mouse Review

(More customer reviews)This is the upgraded version of the Razer DeathAdder.3500 DPI instead of 1800 DPI.This is the main difference, although I believe the newer version has a gold plated USB connector and obviously different drivers for each model. Either way both models are identical in physical shape.

The arc of the mouse is by far the most comfortable I've ever used, in that it actually follows the curve of one's hand how it instinctively would grab a mouse.It is also a right handed mouse, sorry southpaws, which adds to the comfort and control of the mouse.I can't say I know what the mouse grip is made out of, but it is completely slip resistant and oil resistant/absorbent. The sides of the mouse are a hard plastic and between the teflon feet and light weight of the mouse there is almost no resistance to movement.

I upgraded from a Logitech Revolution wireless mouse and wireless mice, while convenient, can't compete with the accuracy and precision that a wired mouse provides.My old wireless mouse would lag and skip across the screen and often when closing a program it would accidentally close the window behind it as well, which I never quite figured out why it did that (I'm guessing radio interference?).With the DeathAdder, I have not had that problem once and every click I make is exactly where I expect it to be.

I played with a Logitech G9 and MX518 as well as the Razer Salmosa, which all felt like solid and accurate mice, but they lacked the feel the DeathAdder has.The technical specs are important, but it doesn't really matter how accurate a mouse is if it still isn't comfortable to use.In short, I'm pretty happy I went this way.However, the Razer Salmosa was a close second, but it just seemed like a simple version of the original 3G DeathAdder.

As for gaming I haven't had a whole lot of chances to test it out yet.I've played a bit of Left for Dead with it and after some getting used to and tweaking the settings (independent X and Y sensitivity, button assignemnt, acceleration, etc.) it is way easier to shoot hoards of zombies in the head.I also have played a bit of Fallout, and while the mouse is definately smoother, I can't say it has affected gameplay all that much.I've tried this mouse on my desktop and laptop (Vista and 7 respectively) and both operating systems seem to run the Razer software perfectly fine.Windows recognized the mouse immediately and it works fine with the windows drivers, but I highly recommend downloading the latest Razer drivers for maximum performance.The level of adjustment this mouse offers is wasted otherwise.

Other thoughts:
The blue lights on the mouse wheel and the glowing DeathAdder logo are pretty cool.I can see them becoming annoying after a while, but they are easy enough to turn off in the settings.

The DPI and Polling rates can be lowered from the 3500DPI and 1000ms if desired, but I only notice a decrease in accuracy and performance so I'm not sure why you would.

My only real complaint is the "On-The-Fly" sensitivity switch is on the bottom of the mouse.I'm not sure how on the fly that is if I'm playing a game, which is the only time I would need to use that feature. Ultimately, it's not that big of a deal, but it is kind of false advertising in my opinion.

I can't stress enough how form fitting this mouse is, not to mention that is looks pretty cool at the same time.Something about it just feels "right." Granted it took me a couple days to get used to it, but now I don't think I could go back.If you already have a Logitech G9 (or something similar) I can't say I'd tell you to go replace it right now, but if you are looking for an upgrade this is the way to go.
