(More customer reviews)COD4 is truly one of the best first person shooter games.You can play the story mode which takes you through an entire war, with a detailed and intriguing story, and has many different styles of play.Some stages will require straight gun fights, while others will require you to be stealth and snipe your enemies from afar.

The best thing about this game is the Multiplayer function.This is such a great feature as it extends the play value of the game.In most games, once you beat the story mode, there is hardly any reason to play again.however, in multiplayer mode, you will be playing with other gamers around the world online, for free, and get to eliminate each other.Multiplayer mode has many different modes to choose from such as "capture the flag", or "free for all" but the main objectives are all the same. eliminate your opponents!

If you need more detailed footage of the game, just youtube it and see how the game play is in action.

In addition to the Fallout 3 game, this box set includes the following:

(1) The Art of Fallout 3: Conceptual Imagery, Volumes iii-xiii
(2) Vault-Tec Lunchbox

(4) VDSG Holotape: Making of Fallout 3, Historical Series (Volume I)

Let's go into each of these items in more detail.

The Art of Fallout 3 - This is a 95-page hardcover booklet with conceptual drawings and artwork that cover several aspects of the game, with artist's notes included.

Pages 4-12: Pre-Production - Includes sketches of cities such as D.C., Rivet City, Project Purity, Wasteland, and Paradise Falls.
Pages 14-16: Pip-Boy - This section shows several concept sketches of the Pip-Boy device.
Pages 17-32: Costume Design - Here we see designs for wastelanders, raiders, slavers, merchants, Vault suits, and more - see how 50's brand clothing gets a post-holocaust treatment.
Pages 33-44: Creatures - Brahmin cows? Bloat flies? Deathclaws? They're all here, in their irradiated glory.
Pages 45-52: Robots - From the Protectron to Liberty Prime, every robot and their arsenal make an appearance.
Pages 53-60: Weapons - This section shows the more exotic and homemade weaponry of Fallout 3 with intricate detail.
Pages 61-70: Hardware - Everything from fission-powered automobiles to stainless steel bomb-protected buildings gets a sketch in this section.
Pages 71-90: The World - Several of the key locations, environments and structures are reviewed here.
Pages 91-95: Storyboards - Here, we see the storyboard sequence for the intro movie and a small battle segment.

The Vault-Tec Lunchbox - There's no shortage of artwork here. The top has the Vault-Tec mascot leading an exodus into a mountainside vault, the sides have S.P.E.C.I.A.L. attribute pictures, and the bottom shows an idyllic family picnic with the mascot reminding everyone to "Prepare for the Future".

The Vault-Tec Bobblehead - I must confess; I was a little disappointed at first. While the bobblehead was cute, the base had come off during delivery, but it was nothing a little super-glue couldn't fix.

Finally, the Making of Fallout 3 video.

The main video is 39 minutes long, made up of 4 sections:

(2) Retro-Futurism
(3) Duck & Cover
(4) The Art of Noise

For the hearing impaired, there are 5 language choices for the subtitles.

And what's the icing on the cake? When you use the Pop-Up Menu option on your Blu-Ray player, it opens in a Pip-Boy window!

There's a lot to love with this edition. If you like the game and want to know as much as you can about the creation, development and production process, you'll be in hog heaven with the Making of Fallout 3 DVD. For the aspiring artist, the Art of Fallout 3 is simply amazing to look at and offers a unique glimpse into the process of taking retro-50's concepts and projecting them 200 years into the future. The other extras are purely for the collectors - but if you'd like to be the envy of your classmates with a Vault-Tec lunchbox, or decorate your cubicle with a Vault-Tec bobblehead, go for it!

Now, the only difference between this edition and the Fallout 3: Amazon.com Exclusive Survival Edition is the Pip-Boy clock. I would NOT recommend buying that package because there are numerous reports of the Pip-Boy clock malfunctioning. I personally haven't had any trouble, but several people have noted the low battery life.

Innovative action, great conspiracy storyline that will keep you glued until the last minute. The plot unravels nicely as you travel deeper into the Lambda complex, a secret research facility that's been overrun by mysterious forces. You're one of the few left alive and you're trying to make it out in one piece. But it seems that the government knows about the incident and is even on top of things!

(More customer reviews)Be very careful.You are not getting a Variety Map Packs token with purchase of this game as previously Advertised.

Activision seems to want even more money, and have now taken to bait and switch marketing tactics.Previous version of this Game of the Year Edition have been advertised as coming with a token you could use to download the Variety Map Pack.It's a gimmick used for pretty much all Game of the Edition games.It's what makes them worth the purchase over the older version of the game.Without this token, downloading the map pack is going to cost you about $10.

So now without any public notice, Activision has stopped including the free tokens inside GOTY Edition games.Making this game $48.99 (if you want the new maps) instead of Amazon's current price of $38.99.Buyer beware.

Buy this game used and don't let Activision rip you off as they did me.

It would also be nice to see Amazon put up a notice denoting this game will no longer include the map packs.

Company of Heroes Review

(More customer reviews)Company of Heroes Game of the Year is a great game.However, I didn't realize that the first game would be trying to get it to recognize the DVD.After installation I kept getting a disk validation error.If I happened to be online when I started the game, it would try to log on and update and said I needed a 115MB patch.This is not the correct patch!I contacted THQ and got back an Email about turning off anti-virus software and any virtual drives.My anti-virus was off and I don't use virtual drives, so that didn't help, however they were nice and trying to be helpful.Finally, after endless searching and investigating, I found out how to solve the issue on my own.If you happen to end up with the same issue, I think I can save you a lot of grief with the following:
Locate and install the patch en_2101_2102_patch.exe manually (This must be done first.If you just try to install the second patch it will give you an unrecognized version error and exit.)
Locate and install the second patch EN_2102_2103_patch.exe manually.
After this I was finally able to get the game to recognize the disk and run.After that it was smooth sailing.Good luck.

Plants Vs. Zombies Review

(More customer reviews)This game is so addicting. You can play it so many times and still find/do new things. I love the figurine that comes with this, he is as cute as a zombie can be! The only reason I gave this 4 stars is because the game is not compatible with updated 3D accelerator drivers. If you don't disable them, the game will freeze and you cannot play. If you do disable them, the game looks terrible. I really hope they get this fixed.
