(More customer reviews)This is a classic, the best software/game I know of for little kids. Reading skills aren't necessary -- provided the child can use a mouse or trackpad to point and click, s/he'll have weeks or months of fun with this. This game has been around for a while, and the graphics aren't up to modern standards, but they still capture the spirit of Dr. Seuss's drawings perfectly. The creators did the impossible and extrapolated from the contents of the book to add a huge amount of new content, which matches perfectly and is just as silly and hilarious as Seuss's original work.

We've had this since 1996 or so, and both of my kids grew up with it. Many of the jokes and songs in this have become part of my family's store of in-jokes, just as with any treasured children's book. I can't think of a higher recommendation.

Fisher Price: Little People Discovery Games 3 Disk Compilation Review

(More customer reviews)I really can't say enough good things about this computer program.The one problem is that you have to find things to do while they are doing this game all by themselves. Imagine that you can actually get stuff done.My son has watched me on the computer since day one.I finally decided to get him his own game.I figured I would be stuck sitting with him at the computer.this is not the case.He just turned three and he asked," can I tr?".Well that was it.He can move the mouse and to do games on the cd he know to ask me to change to another cd.the activities can grow with him in difficulty.He actually played the airport game for an hour.He changed between the different activites himself.They are very kid friendly. Also the giggles that come from the computer room are worth it alone.He really seems to enjoy it and he is learning while he is laughing.I stongly suggest this cd rom.I plan to purchase it for all my nieces and nephews for the holidays.Enjoy!!

Timez Attack Standard--Home License Review

(More customer reviews)I was so happy to find this on the Internet, and my 8 year old daughter is learning her times, happily for a change. We have the free version, and while we are extremely grateful that Big Brainz offers a free version, it does get a little boring going through the same environment on each level. I want to get her the upgraded version that has all the different rooms but cannot see spending $40 on something she will use for a few weeks until she masters it and then never need again. If they would offer it for $20-$25 I would be all over it. Their customer service is top notch. I hope that they start advertising more, and maybe with a higher sales volume, they can bring down the price. Great game though. Best out there for learning the tedious times table. Cute little martian for the character. He scratches his butt cheek when you take too long to answer.

(More customer reviews)Like all the "Blue's Clues" software products, this is a beautifully made, thoughtful program that teaches kids the fundamentals of learning. The best thing about this program is that it presents information in a way that younger kids understand and can enjoy, so that they don't get frustrated by their lack of success or progress. I've seen a lot of kids' CD-ROMs, and this is one of the best I've come across recently. You won't be disappointed; Blue is so adorable! The only bad thing is that you can't click out of Steve's song at the end.... You get pretty sick of hearing it if you play the game enough. But that's my only complaint. Great product.

I've worked with our local Humane Society for several years, so I am a little critical when I see games with animals.The stunning realism and character of these animals is astounding.Their expressions and actions convey a sense of genuine personality. As for the games, I think each one of my daughters friends has a different favorite. The puppy treat toss game seems to be their overall fave. As for the Amazon.com review, it said their were only 8 missions; we have found 15 different rescue scenerios so far, with even more rescue variations. I don't think the tester used the e-mail for new rescues. In summation, if you have a young girl on your Christmas list, this game is a must.

Backyard Baseball 2003 Review

(More customer reviews)I am looking forward to the release of this game tremendously. The first BYB was the debut by Humongous Entertainment for the Backyard Sports series. The second was much improved, offering Major League Teams and players, along with online play. The last three releases from Humongous (owned by Infogrames) have been fabulous games with computer animation as well as hand drawn. It's hard to imagine that Backyard Baseball 2003 will be able to beat the success of BYB'01, but with the return of players like Sammy Sosa, Derek Jeter, Jason Giambi and Alex Rodriguez coupled with new players such as Ichiro, Tim Hudson and Carlos Delgado, this looks to be one of the better Backyard Games. I was mildly disapointed with the performance of Backyard Basketball, not because of bad graphics or gameplay flaws, but because of having only two professional players (Kevin Garnett and Lisa Leslie) and no official NBA teams! One minor gameplay glitch miffed me about BYF'02, but it was a small price to pay for excellent graphics and 10 pros such as Brett Farve. BYB'03 wields 4 brand new fields. Go to the Infogrames web site and go to Children's games and click on Backyard Baseball 2003 for screen shot. Ichiro up to bat against the Twin's Brad Radke now encompasses my computer screen. I am saddened by the loss of favorites Mark McGwire, Cal Ripken Jr. and Tony Gwynn, especially Ripken. Regardles of popular belief, Cal IS the best infielder in that game (Sorry, Derek, buddy). Hopefully with the rise of BYB'03, will come more cheats. I think the employment of cheat codes could do no harm to the game. ...!! Well, the dawn of a new Backyard game is coming, and while I can't make the Yankees lose the World Series in the real world, perhaps my Mariners can pull of a few '03 miricales in the Backyard Realm. Until then, Jah Backyard Peeps, RIDE ON! go M's, make them yanks cringe. Out.

(More customer reviews)I purchased this game a couple of weeks ago for my daughter, who is almost five, and she loves playing it.It has different levels of difficulty and she is ecstatic that she has been able to solve the first level mystery so far.She needs a little bit of help with the reading parts, but she loves the matching games and the ones for scoring scooby snacks.She often plays with her Dad and they enjoy trying to solve the mysteries together. The only negative with the game is that the animation is a little jerky; but, at her age, she doesn't seem to mind.

I've got a Sony VAIO 2.66ghz P4 with all the latest drivers and updates. This system tests out as optimal on all sorts of web sites for evaluating your system. However, this game will not run on this system. Unless you've got a system specifically set up for gaming, I think theres a pretty good chance it won't run on your system. Don't disappoint your little girl with this software. Before buying, install the latest DirectX from the Microsoft website, then go START>Run>dxdiag, then run all the tests. If you don't pass the Direct3D 9 test, don't buy it.

It is a action packed game with alot of variables so when they get tired of one aspect of the game they can switch to another. I think most anyone will be happy with this game. Its not violent or one of those shoot em up games but it does include all the "tough" action that kids love.

Despite the fact that I'm 14 now, I still remember all the awesome times I had playing these games. This is one of the ones I remember most.
I remember how fun it was figuring where the stuff was in time, and I really loved changing his color at one point. These games should sharpen your kids, thinking and puzzle solving skills. I wish I would not have given this game to my younger cousin, just for the "nostalgia". If your kid is aged 3-8, I would highly recommend this game. :) And this comes from a 14 yr old.
