For the price, you get quite a few extra goodies.Loopy Landscapes includes 30 new scenarios, 3 `real' pre-built-parks, new themes, new coaster designs, new shops/stalls, music and coloring options, plus a few new rides.It should be said upfront that this expansion also includes RCT's 1st expansion: Corkscrew Follies, so you don't need to purchase it as a separate item.
The scenarios, like the original and first expansion get progressively harder, and when you load it for the first time, only 5 of the scenarios are unlocked.You must complete a scenario here in order to unlock others.However, I think this is where Loopy Landscapes shines in game play: The new scenarios are much more dynamic, creative, and challenging than previous ones.Here, instead of the normal `Have 1,200 guests by the end of year 3', or `Have a Park Value of $XX,XXX' by the end of year 3', you'll find you have to create certain excitement levels on half built coasters, or create X coasters of Y type.My favorite so far is `Arid Heights' where you are free from any financial burdens....just a big sandbox mode in which to create a park that will attract 2000 guests.I like it because you are not restricted to time or money and can make a beautiful park.
Also Loopy Landscapes groups the scenarios by tabs.There is one tab each for the original game, Corkscrew Follies, Loopy Landscapes, Extra's, and Real Parks.Very cool to be able to switch between these.Also the `Real Parks' are just plain beautiful to look at and watch.Sure you can change them, but I like to study them for tips and hints on what you can bring into one of the other scenarios you are working on.
There are a few new coasters and a few new rides including `Jet Skis' and `Enterprise', but there are many new shops/stalls to choose from.The new coloring options have been expanded; you have more control over how a ride is now painted.There are many new tiles for roofing and ground cover, including snow, swamp, Martian, wood, etc.Also, there are new supports for different walkways and queue lines.The music scores for rides have been expanded as well; you must check out the `Oriental Style'....very beautiful.For a new expansion, I would have liked to see a few more new thrill rides.
Lastly is the new themes themselves.There is now Arctic, Medieval, Spooky, Space, and more.This adds so much creativity, but the biggest let down is that some of the older themes could have been expanded, but were not.Like Old West should have had maybe a saloon, more cacti, horse tie-ups, mine cars, etc.Or Jurassic could have had more dinosaur's, Egyptian and Greek could have been expanded too. There are some themes that are begging to be created, like Pirates, or Super Hero's, or Mexican.However, the Oriental theme was done very nice.
Overall, a worthy addition to RCT.

I love this game and so does the rest of my family! The animals do make sounds, I love the zebra it's my fave!! The koalas scream or cry for their mothers. Anyway I had the first one, and it is completely boring compared to this, you can not even compare them. Night and Day! My daughter is 10 and loves this and I guess it's ageless because I am 40 and love it too! I think my daughter and I have about ten zoos each. AAA++++

(More customer reviews)Though I always enjoy Zoo Tycoon 2, African Adventure is often more expensive than its worth. Its Expansion Pack Companion, Endangered Species, is of much better value.
African Adventure adds these animals: Aardvark, African Buffalo, African Spurred Tortoise, Barbary Ape, Bong, Caracal, Ethiopian Wolf, Gelada, Gerenuk(very cute!), Mandrill, Masai Giraffe, Meerkat, Nile Moniter, Pygmy Hippo, Ratel,Secretary Bird, Striped Hyena, Warthog, White Rhino, and the Wildebeest.
There are a few other features, including 'new' themes, campaigns, challenges, and Maps.
Though I enjoyed this game, I would definitly recommend Endangered Species vs. African Adventure

(More customer reviews)I'm a huge fan of Zoo Tycoon & I've bought all the expansions.I absolutely couldn't wait for Marine Mania because that was my favorite in the original Zoo Tycoon.It was well worth the wait.Of course I'd like more scenarios but with the 9 additional that's what I've come to expect out of expansions.This expansion features has 20 marine animals (whales, dolphins, rays, sharks, otters & then some) + the ability to train & put on shows with some of the animals.The shows are pretty neat & it's fun to be able to swim with the animals.With the plants & rocks in the tank it looks pretty realistic.when you're in the tanks.If you are a fan of Zoo Tycoon 2 I'm sure you'd love this expansion pack.Buy it!!!

Rollercoaster Tycoon 3: Wild! Expansion Review

(More customer reviews)I was a little skeptical of the Wild! Expansion pack at first, but after the price lowered, I finally found time to buy and play the newest addition to Roller Coaster Tycoon 3. The idea is to now integrate, instead of water rides, wild animals into parks. Peeps pay to walk on 'viewing galleries' to get a good look at your wildlife. Choices range from Polar Bears to Ostriches to Gorillas and much in between.

The parks now look noticeably different than before. Many of the objectives are unfamiliar, such as making a certain profit off an animal, or obtaining a certain number of an animal. Although this is all new, it flows well with the RCT3 game and feels very comfortable after just a few quick scenarios.

The scenarios feature a wide variety of theming and landscapes, including the two new styles of scenery, prehistoric, and safari. The new scenery items include giant dinosaurs, and swooping safari trees. Both are great additions to the animal enclosures. The gameplay seems much simpler on Wild! than the previous two RCT3 titles. Most of the levels are not very challenging, although they do (for the most part) take a few hours to complete (if not longer). I cannot say they aren't a lot of fun, though. Once the animals begin breeding, the galleries can become hugely profitable, and it goes uphill for the coaster enthusiast from there.

Finally, as with Soaked!, Wild! has improved the tunnel feature again (and thank goodness!). Tunneling roller coasters as well as footpaths is as easy as it was in the original games, if not easier. Roller coasters can be built into hills automatically, and underground footpaths are rarely challenging. This adds a lot of functionality to park design, and works great with the animal enclosures since paths can tunnel below them, popping up in the middle to host viewing galleries.

I am pleased again with the newest RCT3 expansion. They have really turned RCT3 into a great looking and functional game that is easy to pick up and enjoy with hardly any frustration or problems. If you already have the first two parts of the RCT3 series, don't hesitate to pick this one up as well.

Neighbors from Hell Review

(More customer reviews)I got this game at EB Games thinking it was going to be awful.I started playing it, and I actually liked it!The basic idea is that you are on a reality TV show, where the goal is to make your neighbor as mad as possible.In order to do that, you play tricks on him - like drawing all over his mom's portrait with a black marker, cutting his favorite chair in half, switching out his hard candy with bath beads, etc.When he finds out, he gets super mad!And if you manage to pull several tricks in a row, you get extra points.If you get caught, he beats you up pretty bad. :D
The game runs well, I never had any issues when I was installing or playing it.The only thing I didn't like about the game is that I beat it about 2 1/2 hours.There are only about a dozen scenarios to do, and each has a timer of about 5 minutes.Also, I would have liked to see more variety in tricks - by the last few scenarios I knew every single trick and it was just a matter of strategizing on what order I wanted to pull them off in to get the maximum amount of points.
Overall - decent game, but way too short. :)

(More customer reviews)"Roller Coaster Tycoon 2 - Triple Thrill Pack" finally delivers the RCT2 I wanted.It not only lets you simulate building amusement parks, complete with rides, food & drink stalls, and other attractions, but this pack includes a huge number of different coasters and examples of each type, and also allows you to try to build your own coasters. There are many other types of amusement park rides, including log flumes and water slides, merry-go-rounds and ferris wheels, go kart race tracks and car rides, and many others. There are also over a dozen scenarios ranging from fairly easy to fairly difficult. The fact that all the scenarios are accessible from the beginning of the game is a big plus.

The replay value of this game is great. I find myself coming back to see if I can better my previous rating or ending park value, or both, or add something to my previous parks to make them more interesting. I know I've spent countless hours designing little tweaks to make my parks or rides "just right".

The primary program, "Roller Coaster Tycoon II," provides many good features that are a big improvement over RCT1, but the same graphics engine is used.I really like this sim game - probably more than any other game like it.If you like amusement parks and roller coasters, and you like games like "Civilization" and other simulations, you'll love Roller Coaster Tycoon 2.

"Wacky Worlds" adds a lot of scenery like the Great Wall of China, the Taj Mahal, the Eiffel Tower and many others to make your park a true international experience. There are over 20 new scenarios, 50 new ride types (not all of which will be coasters), and about a total of 250 new game elements.But the total of the new elements in "Wacky Worlds" wasn't worth the price of admission all by itself.

"Time Twister" adds even more great rides and some really wonderful scenarios to the overall mix.There's a few for every age - from the Medieval to the present and beyond.There's also a few new rides and attractions."Time Twister" also suffered from not having nearly enough material to satisfy RCT fans by itself.

But now you can Triple your fun with this all in one pack.Amazon.Com doesn't have half stars, so I can't give this game the 4 1/2 stars it deserves, but I'm sure if you've found previous games in the series interesting. you'll love tripling your fun!

If you've never tried Roller Coaster Tycoon, and you like amusement parks, you'll love the ability to design and build your own amusement park. RCT2 gives you almost everything that the old game had. But if you've already tried RCT1 you may find that this game just isn't different enough from the original, even though it includes the new scenario designer and other new features. The graphics haven't been updated much at all - and the graphics were already a little dated in RCT1.

But if you =really= want the =complete= pack, do an Internet search for "RCT2 User Created Expansion Set" and download that.You will be highly surprised at the many new features, rides and other things that fan-created expansion does for this game.

Now that my predictions have come to pass and everything is available for RCT2, I very highly recommend this purchase over any of the other stand alone sets, including the incomplete "Combo Pack".But if you already =love= RCT2, then just wait a few weeks - Chris Sawyer and Atari are rolling out RCT3 - which finally has a 3D feel and a coaster cam! If you've never tried to build your own amusement park, and had a secret yen to try it, then RCT2 is a great game. Watch out Disney World - here comes Roller Coaster Tycoon 2!

If you like lousy graphics but a fun game I personally would recommend this to you. I mean... it's a pretty fun game. I would recommend it because you can build lots of rides and attractions, from gentle rides to rollercoasters!!!!!! You can even build real rides like rides from six flags. If you've been to six flags in any state you must know that their rides are pretty impresive. Anyway, it's a great game for rollercoaster lovers and profit managers(people who know how to spend their money.) It's a pretty good game! George,

I bought it the day it came out, and am still having fun playing it a week later.These are the following dinosaurs/prehistoric animals that you will be able to house in a zoo: (1) Smilodon (sabertooth cat), (2) Wooly Mammoth, (3) Wooly Rhino, (4) Giant Turtle, (5) Stegosaurous, (6) T-Rex, (7) Allosaurous, (8) Velociraptor, (9) Triceratops (which you unlock with a cheat code), (10) Lambeosaurus (Duck-billed hadrosaurs), (11) Styracosaurus(Five-horned Dino), (12) Ankylosaurous (armor plated with bony tail), (13)Iguanodon, (14)Spinosaurus, (15)Plesiosaurus, (16)Kentrosaurus (cousin of the stegosaurus), (17) Caudipteryx (lean green hunter), (18) Coeleophysis (bird-dinosaur), (19) Herrerasaurus (very cool striped hunter - my favorite in the game!), (20) Apatosaurus, (21) Camptosaurus (gentle herbivore)...plus there is one more "unlock" animal in the game that is revealed when you make it to the later scenerios - it is very impressive!!!Also, you may ... via the special "internal update" function of the game and download two additional new dinosaurs.I'll just let those be a surprise for you, but they are also very cool.I have wanted to build my own Jurassic Park since that movie came out in 1994...this Zoo Tycoon expansion is our first chance to do it!!! Along with the animals, the game designers have also created a ton of prehistoric fauna and other items such as volcanoes to add to the exhibits. There is even a "Recovery Team" that includes a helicopter that takes off and captures the dinos when they get loose - and you know they will indeed get loose at some point.The animals in this game actually test the fences for weaknesses and attack the same spots repeatedly to facilitate an escape. There are electrified fences and giant concrete walls to try to keep these monsters penned - but good luck - they were born to cause mayhem! This expansion pack has 6 cool new scenerios for you to play with as well: An Ice-Age Zoo and a Jurassic Zoo are just two of them.There is even a scenerio where you have to salvage the remains of a "Dino Park" after its previous owner had to abandon it when things went horribly awry. Like Zoo Tycoon, there are also buildings to place in the park that have animals inside them, but which cannot be further manipulated by you - in this case, A Pteranodon Aviary, a Prehistoric Amphibians House, and a Jurassic Cinema (which has different movies on the Marquee like Dinosaurs Attack!). There is even a playground with dinosaur slides and different fossil statues to place around the zoo for aesthetic reasons. Plus, a Mammoth Cones shop and a Bronto Burger Stand, Yummmm!
This game is a must-have. I really enjoy playing my zoo tycoon, and I couldn't wait to play this game. And for anyone reading this who is excited about creating their own Jurassic Park - in the Fall there will be an even bigger surprise. The people behind the Jurassic Park name and logo are putting together their own Dinosaur Park building game, which at this point is being called Jurassic Park: Project Genesis. You will be able to do basically what you are doing in ZT: Dinosaur Digs, only you will actually get to use the logo from the movies on your buildings and have access to supposedly realistic-looking dinosaurs. While I love the animals that were created for Zoo Tycoon, they are slightly on the cartoon/stylized level. This is not a complaint, but an observation. If you want photo-realistic dinosaurs, supposedly Project Genesis is going to be something wonderful to behold.
The only bad thing I have to say about Zoo Tycon and Dinosaur Digs is that these games are not for everyone.Dinosaur Digs is what I call a "Bonzai Game" - one that you play slowly and over long periods, which does not have a lot of blasts and explosions in it...just like nurturing a Japanese Banzai over time.If you enjoy animals, and like games that are slow to play and involve the constant maintenance and upkeep of exhibits, then you will enjoy playing this.If you are more a "Tomb Raider" kind of player, then you will be disappointed to find little action here - there are no guns, lasers, or karate chops to be found.I personally enjoy escaping from my life for a few hours and disappearing into my little zoo, creating the exhibits with great care and trying to please all my guests.I like the thrill of trying to keep all my fences intact and make sure all the animals are healthy.I enjoy arranging the different plants and sculpting the scenery just so.And, I must admit, I also enjoy the moments when one of the dinos gets loose and wrecks havoc - watching the helicopters take off and race to subdue the beast (you can't control the helicopters, you can just build a helicopter port.After that, your staff does all the flying and dino-tranquilizing).
I sincerely hope there are dozens more expansion packs for Zoo Tycoon.It is incredibly well done, hours and hours worth of entertainment.I can't wait to see what other animals the people at Microsoft are dreaming up!

(More customer reviews)It is important to note there is nothing new in this game. It is just a re-release of the game and its two expansion packs. So, if you have Rollercoaster Tycoon and the expansion packs, don't bother, Rollercoaster Tycoon II is coming this fall.
But if you dont have any of the RCT games yet, this is a good buy.

Zoo Tycoon (Jewel Case) Review

(More customer reviews)So I was playing this game the other day, and it prompted me to write a review for those who might not have been fortunate enough to play it yet. Basically, the game is exactly what you'd expect... it's a sim/strategy type game where you take the role of a zoo keeper, and build your ideal zoo. With dozens of animals, from African hunting dogs to saltwater crocodiles to Asian black bears, this game should appeal to any wildlife enthusiast. The whole goal of the game is to make sure your animals, and guests, are happy. The former is achieved by placing them in a suitable environment, the later by building animal house (like 'reptile houses,' 'primate houses,' etc), resturants, gift stores and other attractions. You can choose several scenarios, from free form games to pre-made games that require you to achieve certain, increasingly challenging, goals. Over all, a very cool game, and one you can get cheaply too. But it will still provide hours of enjoyment. Go for it!

Let's start off with a few things:

Yes, this is an old game. And, yes, you can probably pick it up for $20 (or less). And, yes, there is a newer version of RailRoad Tycoon out.

But I personally don't find the newer version to be as much fun as this one.

The graphics aren't striking. There's no whiz-bang 3-D animation. There's only strategy.

The scenarios seem easy enough:

"Create a railroad company, and lay track from Baltimore to Washington DC. Make 10 journeys with a train full of people in 10 years and win this scenario."

Or

"Connect New York to Chicago, carry 10 trainloads of passengers between these cities and have a company book value of $10 million. You have 20 years."

Okay, these may not be the exact scenarios, but they're close.

This game isn't just laying track and putting trains on them. You've got to create trains to do specific tasks. Start at a Iron mine with 2 cars full or iron, run to a Coal mine and pick up 2 additional cars, run to a steel mill and wait for the steel to be made, then off to a Tool and Die company for goods, now deliver those goods to a city and start it over again.

The scenarios are challenging, and fun. Sometimes it's not about running trains, but how well you run a company--or how well you play the stock market.

Including getting supplies to ports in America to be delivered to Europe for World War 2, running trains in the Eastern Block and Moscow during the Cold War, running commuter trains in the Northwest and a few science-fiction 'future' scenarios centering around a geo-thermal plant in Spain. I found this game very addictive, fun and still enjoyable years after my initial purchase.

Well worth the money. And you can find online guides to help you if you get stuck.

(More customer reviews)This addicting game is a best seller and for a good reason. This fun (and sometimes funny) game requires a lot of free time, a strategic brain, and a good imagination.
RCT has a very user-friendly interface. It is easy toroam around your park, create and maintain rides, hire staff (janitors,mechanics, security guards, and entertainers), keep the park clean, andmuch more. Even if you're new to this game, a quick overlook at the game'sfeatures will get you going. But even a quick look won't satisfy you withthis very addicting game. I can guarantee that you'll want to play this allday and night.
Creating your own ride is very fun. Make all the drops,vertical loops, etc. you want. But be careful to keep within the budgetrange! Sounds hard? It gets harder as it unlocks more parks as you completescenarios. But no matter how hard or frustrating it is, it will get morefun as you research more rides and attractions as time passes.
So ifyou're trying to beat the park objective, keep within budget range, createthe best roller coaster, keep your guests happy, or just play for fun,you'll agree from the minute you get into the game that the best sim gameever has finally come to PC!
The expansion pack is a great addition to agreat game. Be sure to include the Corkscrew Follies addition with yourorder.

(More customer reviews)Well...I had this version of Roller Coaster Tycoon for my old Windows and when I got my new puter with Windows XP a couple of years ago...much to my chagrin, my Roller Coaster Tycoon did not transfer.
I had gotten this for my son to play, and he is now grown and gone.We tried other versions of Roller Coaster Tycoon...but really none were as fun as the original one.
Once he left...I had empty nest syndrome pretty badly.I looked in the stores for the original version of RCT to see if they had made it compatible with Windows XP and could not find it.But I was told it might be available online...and I was delighted when I found it on Amazon.
I ordered it and have enjoyed it immensely.I love Evergreen Gardens and I play it through and accumulate alot of money on it, then flatten it and make a Serenity Garden where I can make banners with Scriptures and everything.I make just a few rides that I really enjoy watching the workings of and then open my Serenity Park for a low fare and watch the little kids come and play in my low key Amusement Park.
I set all the rides on maintain every 10 minutes and I have plenty of maintenance men, so even the coasters rarely crash.I am a very non violent person and I don't like that feature in the scenario, so I pretty much edit it out in the way I run my parks.
It is fun for this older gal to see the kiddies play and it is a drift of imagination that seems pretty harmless to me.I just try to limit my time, so I am only truly using it for recreation and relaxation.

(More customer reviews)I cannot say how much I appreciate these games Virtual Villagers is a fantastic gaming series.My children all love to play.We all sit around our computer talking about what we need to do to advance our village.We also giggle about the different things we can do to the villagers.Great idea with no violence I appreciate that so much.I especially like the levels of play #1 is a bit easier though my children did figure out the golden child where it was taking me ages to figure that out.The lost children is a bit more difficult you have to think and work at keeping them alive, and I do love the feature of being able to use tech points to buy different clothes for the villagers instead of them just adding up into infinity.

(More customer reviews)If you have Railroad Tycoon Gold, there is no need to buy this one.There isn't anything new except for a few new maps.That was disapointing to me.But if you have neither of the previous Railroad Tycoons, this game is by far the most entertaining game I own.
If you like economic type games, one that tests your skills in owning your own business, then this is the game for you.
Also, the stock market effect in this game is awesome.Very good game and one that is addictive.
The graphics are excellent and the levels of difficulty are fairly easy to down right impossible.
If you do not have this game, I highly reccomend it!
