(More customer reviews)Don't let the title of this game throw you. Almost undoubtedly, many PS2 owners will overlook this game, thinking it's simply kid's stuff. Well, know now that Sly Cooper is the most original game to come along in quite awhile, and for kids and adults alike, it's one of the best titles out there, hands down. Everything, from gameplay to presentation, is perfect, and it's truly a rewarding gaming experience.
The game is a typical 3D platformer, with the hero, Sly Cooper, master thief, trekking through various locales in hopes of restoring the five pieces of his "Thievius Raccoonus", his family's great book of stealing. The book was torn apart by the group known as the Five Fiends, and now, it's up to Sly and his buddies to overcome the villians and steal what is rightfully theirs.
The graphics are splendid, taking full command of the PS2's capabilities with gorgeous -- and fitting -- cel-shading. The voice-acting, while a little hokey, has its moments, but the real prize of the game is its overall presentation. From opening credits to cut-scenes, Sly Cooper weaves a fun, truly original tale that can only beg for more sequels.
The gameplay is precise, with Sly a cinch to control. A quick tutorial mission acts as the first "stage," so novice gamers will have no problems figuring out how to make Sly climb, jump, swing, and do other marvelous things with his unique cane. Special "Super Sneaky" moves are available with a simple press of a button, and special techniques can be unlocked by finding "clues" (bottles) throughout the levels. These special techniques are fun to use and add some flavor to the game, but they're not necessary to complete your missions.
With colorful characters, memorable villains, rewarding gameplay, rich graphics, and a terrific story, Sly Cooper should find its way onto your PS2 soon. It won't take many days to finish, but the ride through is well worth it!

(More customer reviews)Ok, if you thought Sly 2: Band of Theives was good, you ain't seen nothin' yet.

You have, amoung other things, a VERY lengthy game with tons of enemies and missions to do. There are 3D levels where you put on 3D glasses and everything jumps out at you. Its amazing and family friendly. Be the first person on your block to play this game!

Please note that you DO NOT need to have played ANY of the other Sly games in order to enjoy this game. Although it is essential to understand some of the storyline, it is not needed to actually enjoy this all new, action-packed game.

Unlike what most people was saying, this game has easily surpassed both previous installments. What are you waiting for? GET IT NOW!!!!! (Note that the violence is almost NULL and VOID in this game, the rating of 10+ is only due to the cartoon violence that is the same as if you were reading a comic book of Spiderman or Superman, it is quite discreet and younger children CAN play this game without the risk of violence being the dominating theme. It is all in fun and absolutely NO gore, sexual themes, and other themes games have taken the route of recently)

(More customer reviews)The Sly Collection is quite the collection.Included on one disk is Sly 1, 2, 3 and a 4 mini games.The mini games are worthless, just a bunch of 30 second motion games to demo the Move.All three Sly games are presented in 720p HD.The games are clearly much cleaner, sharper and just overall more graphic.The framerate is also much smoother.The sound is also much cleaner and stronger.All three games feature trophy support (very easy to platinum all three).Really those who want Sly in HD should pick this collection up.Those who always wanted to try out Sly, they should probably pick the collection up.For those who never liked Sly, obviously this collection isn't for you.These games are not built from the ground up, but rather just polished and refinished a bit.Sly to the Sly Collection is just like God of War to the God of War Collection.While the games are not built from the ground up, the graphical enhancement is clear as day.The games look much better than the original ps2 versions.

For those who don't know the series, it is an interesting mix of Metal Gear Solid, Mario and Ocean's Eleven.My main draw to the series is the unique factor.I have played hundreds of games, many just seem like the same game I have played before.Sly does not fall into that category.It stands as a very unique experience and there isn't much quite like it.The gameplay is a mix of platforming and sneaking around.The games are certainly lighthearted and not adult themed, which works for me.I enjoy Mario, Pixar, etc.

The only complaints I have is the price (probably better at $35 or $30) and the mini games are terrible.Overall though it does feature 3 great ps2 games all remastered wonderfully.

(More customer reviews)We have been playing this game as a family for the past 4 days.It is absolutely incredible. The visuals are amazing and the game is alot of fun.Some reviewers have commented on how original the game is, there is definetely some really fresh feeling parts of this game.It just feels very good overall and plays a step above other products.I like that it is a game I can play with my son and daughter definetely much more fun than watching TV.I have a recommendation for "Donald", I have a Sony XBR which is an extremely dark television, some games are almost unplayable (Max Payne, GTA, Metal of Honor) and I have not run into any of the same issues with the game being too dark - it might be your television or your cables from the back of your PS2 if you are running an Svideo cable. If you are stuck in the first area you need jump onto a drum looking thing to bounce up to the second level and then you can run down the hallway and the game starts.My son got stuck for a few minutes on that same part.You should definetely give the game a chance if you already bought you it you will not be disapppointed, we are really having a great time with it. We rent a lot of games there are very few that "stick" we are fully committed to reaching the end of this one.I like that our family can play together.My wife usually makes me play "my" games after the kids go to bed so I don't have to subject them to questionable content.I highly recommend this game.
