Monster Hunter Review

Monster Hunter
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This game is by far one of the best i've played. If you can't take it online, although its still good, you may want to wait. The offline tends to get frustrated and repeating quests over and over again to get money gets boring fast.

Pros:
+ Game works awsome online with no monthly charge
+ Armor changes the way you look as well as character customization, don't expect to find your game twin anytime soon.
+ Awsome quests
+ A large collection of weapons and armor to unleash your deadly rage.
+ Cooking, Fishing, Hunting, an more only add to the experiance.
+ Fights with Wyverns and online bosses like Lao feel epic every time.
+ Multible areas like the valcano or jungle.

Cons:

- No offline multiplayer
- Frustrating offline mode
- 1 star quests offline are boring and are nothing but tutorials that have to be done.
- Can only leave town if your on a quest.
- this game WILL make you hungry when your cooking. Dangit, that well done steak looks good.

Your gamer,
Joshua Kyle Daniel

Dino Crisis 2 Review

Dino Crisis 2

Dino Crisis was a great game in its time back when Resident Evil 3 was out. Now Capcom has released Dino Crisis 2! I like how in Dino Crisis Two you can hold you weapon out, ready to shoot while running or walking! That is very convienant for getting those combos in killing the dinos. Also I also like the idea of extinction points you recive you killing the dinos and bonus points for no damage, then you can us e them to by medkits, weapons, tools and essenital items proceed in the game. Each charector has their own set of weapons and tools, like the homing missiles for Regina and a powerful anti tank rifle for Dylan. The T-rex is back for some more bone crushing action, plus there is rumored to be an even bigger dinosaur than the T-Rex! Dino Crisis 2 is a non stop, dinosaur blasting action game. The dinos jump out of nowhere to get you and respawn at different places.
If you are a fan of Resident Evil or Dino Crisis, Dino Crisis 2 will not dissapoint you! It even has an Area game where you can buy Dinos at the end of the game and go head to head with your friends with your Favorite Dinosarus!

You and your team are dropped on an island in the ocean searching for a renegade scientist, but something is wrong, there is a large hole in the security fence, the guards have gone walkies and just when things lookedlike the could'nt get any wierder you are attacked by a very large, veryhungry dinosaur, what is going on here? Welcome to the world of DinoCrisis. Dino Crisis is the latest offering from Capcom, the makers of theResident evil series and although this is evident from the games look atstyle of play, it is not a bad thing.Resident Evil was the best of its typeand Dino crisis is better, the dinosaurs scare the life out of you and aredifficult to kill and look frightningly realistic, the puzzles are tough, but not so tough as you're tearing your hair out and flinging your joypadaround and for any body who has played any of the resident evil games easyto pick up. This is a game with style, imagination, wit and class, in shortit is the game Jurasic park and lost world should have been, anotherexcellent offering from capcom.

Scan Command: Jurassic Park Review

Scan Command: Jurassic Park
Average Reviews:

I've actually played this game--unlike some of the other reviewers here :-( and I think it's great. The scanner is cool and lets you play the game even when you're away from the computer. You can scan almost any barcode and get special powers. I love going into grocery stores with my scanner and just scanning everything in sight! Even boring things like flour and toothpaste can have very strong powers attached to them. You have to experiment to find the really powerful stuff and that's part of the fun.
The graphics are really great and they're much better than graphics in most kids games. The story is interesting and the levels are fun without being impossible to get through. The battles are the best part. These dinosaurs really know how to fight. And even when you beat a bad guy, he doesn't die, he just slinks away. That part is so funny to watch!
There's supposed to be some super-powers hidden in different barcodes but I haven't found one yet. I am checking in with their website every few days for updates.

In this game you have to earn money to build a dinosaur park. The best dinosaurs you can get are Spinosaurus, Velociraptor, Tyrannasaurus, Brachiasaurus and Triceratops. I like the graphics because all the buildings and dinosaurs look realistic and I feel like I'm really there. You can get twisters that add excitement to the game and there are dinorampages, when the dinosaurs break out. I like making lots of money. My best park has made half a million pounds.
Jurassic Park has really inspired me to run my own business and make as much money as I can. I would really recommend it to other people. It is really cool!!!!

This game takes after games like Sim Them park and Rollercoaster Tycoon. You must create and manage a theme park that is based on dinosaurs, like the movies were supposed to do. You can manage restaurants, shops, attractions, and dino health. There is some link cable support, as you can trade the DNA of the 100 something dinosaurs in this game.
In this game you can choose the entry fee, feed and track dinosaurs in your park, and come in complete control over Jurassic Park. This game should be a hit, in that it relates to all the Simulaters for PC and Mac.

Dino Master: Dig Discover Duel Review

Dino Master: Dig Discover Duel

Remeber Qix? You get a big field where you move a little guy to swipe portions of this field while avoiding attacks. You do so until there is a small enough portion of field and then you get rated. Yeah... you remember, this game remembers too which is why they use it as the way you get new fossils.
There's a decent selection of levels to choose form and a multitude of baddies to try to stop you from stealing the field (All giant bugs for some reason) making that portion of the game fun. Just like it was way back when.
The problem arises when you try to use the dino battle system. It can be described as slightly more advanced than rock/paper/scissors. As a matter of fact it's so bad that if you really want to train little dinos for battles I'd pick up Fossil League DS Instead. It has level gains, exploration, and teams of dinos to train and battle.

this is great for the Qix rip-off but leave it there, or at least try it first.

Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis Review

Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis
Average Reviews:

Okay, here's the gameplay:
First you have to deal with basic park-building: Build an entrance, burger stall, toilets next to it, some viewing/photo platforms and fences. Lots of fences. (You'll later research more buildings: Visitor shelters, balloon rides, jeep safaris, souvenir shops, plus many upgrades for dino handling facilities.
Once you've hatched a few dinos and got the park running, you can basically do as you please! It's great fun to watch the Dinosaurs: The artificial intelligence is BRILLIANT! The dino behavior patterns were taken from palaeontology researchers/teachers (Jurassic Park Institute), so you have herds of plant-eaters (some aggressive and playful, others shy, some a bit boring but impressive (Brachiosaurus!). Some of the early Carnivores (hunters) are rather dumb, spending most of their time in show-off combat for territory and eating cows (out of the park's food dispensers). But the small Velociraptors hunt in packs and can bring down any enemy in record time... and they don't eat cow or goat either. Actually, the only thing a Velociraptor loves more than hunting and eating dinosaurs is hunting and eating humans...
... which brings us to the action missions: Dino hunt (control a helicopter and the sniper rifle... sometimes to shoot vaccine, sometomes bullets) Photo safari (cruise around in a jeep, make good dinosaur photos, sell them), Rescue (a visiting VIP crash-landed in the Carnivore Cage....) and so on. You can even set the dinosaurs loose on visitors - just make sure your Velociraptors are starving, and then delete the right fences and security turrets :)
Overall, I would have preferred a more complex park economics simulation, but that would have distracted from the mainattraction of the game: Beautifully animated dinosaurs with lifelike behaviour AI.

Carnivores 2 Review

Carnivores 2

I know, I know...how can I give a hunting game 5 stars?Usually I wouldn't...I've never liked hunting games. But if you have to choose only one, choose this one. Carnivores 2 is far superior to any other huntinggame out there, and is much better than the original. Let's face it...nodeer or duck is ever going to charge you and eat you for dinner like theraptor does. It's fun hunting and being the hunted...the AI is actuallyvery repectable. So what's better about part 2? First of all, there issupport for EAX and A3D,as well as Direct 3D and 3DFX Glide. It makes allthe difference! Secondly, you have more choices in terms of weapons...nowthere is a handgun, double-barrel shotgun, and the others from theoriginal. The new hunting environments are excellent, and are littered withrandom dinosaurs going about there business. I'm a fan of games likeHalf-Life, so a hunting sim would never appeal to me. But Carnivores 2 isworth the hard drive space...and let's face it...the price is right!

Fossil Fighters Review

Fossil Fighters
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Dinosaurs + Fighting.
How could this be bad? Well, it's failed miserably before, and I'm sure a lot of people have since been a bit cautious with this combination.

So, no, I wasn't expecting anything ground-breaking, but I was hopeful that it would be decent fun.
Well, let me tell you, this game is much more than it let's on.
First impression:
It's slow to begin.
Dialogue and more dialogue. But it wasn't at all boring. Surprisingly, the game has a lot of personality and humor. Once you learn what you'll be doing and how to do it, you won't want to put it down.
Anywhere outside of town there will appear a radar on the top screen to find fossils in the ground (while in town, the top screen is a very helpful map), you dig them up, and use your stylus to break away the rock from the fossil. The stylus will act as a hammer or a drill. If the fossil is a skull, you get a new Vivosaur! If you get a body, arm, or leg fossil, it will add power to your Vivosaur.
Each Vivosaur has an element. An element is stronger and weaker than another element. Basic stuff. You have a team of 5 you carry around with you. You can fight with up to 3 Vivosaurs at once. On the lower screen you see their positions and their condition, and on the top screen you see their 3D form either attacking the enemie's team or waiting for a command. There's even little commentators announcing what is happening in the battle (in text form). This bit of the game is very reminiscent of Pokemon Stadium, which I loved.
I don't know if I'm alone in this, but I wasn't expecting anything more than choosing a dinosaur and fighting another dinosaur, but I was pleasantly surprised to find that I was entirely wrong. This is a very, very long adventure game. So far I have clocked a little over 15 hours and there's no hint to an end in sight. You travel to different parts of the island to find different fossils and take on new missions.
This game is easily addictive, so be careful.
Also, there is little to no necessary grinding. Do so if you want, it will certainly make your Vivosaurs stronger, but collecting different fossil parts will make them strong enough for any battle.
Yes, this is an EASY game. I haven't had much trouble with anything. But that isn't the point. It's a fun ride, easy on the eyes, and never boring or repetitive. If you're a "hardcore gamer" and enjoy "mature games for mature gamers like myself" then this is not for you.

Gameplay: Fun, creative, and addictive. It doesn't take itself too seriously and it doesn't try to be anything it isn't.

Graphics: They're fantastic. It feels like I'm playing an old N64 game. It easily rivals Animal Crossing: Wild World.
Now, you have to understand, the DS is limited to a certain extent, so next to a handheld like the PSP, the Nintendo DS is almost laughable. However, graphics aren't everything, and it doesn't take away from the quality of the game. If anything, the game has a sort of nostalgic feel to it.

Overall: You can always tell when developers love the games they make. A lot of thought was put into this game and it shows.

Product Description:
Finding, Cleaning, Collecting and Fighting Dinosaurs

Fossil Fighters blends the timeless human fascination with dinosaurs with the fun of building a collection. The game lets players build a collection of more than 100 fantastical dinosaurs known as "vivosaurs." This new game incorporates elements of discovery, tactics, and strategy as players try to get the best vivosaurs on their teams to battle it out on the field.

Players dig for fossils and use the touch screen of the Nintendo DS or Nintendo DSi system to hammer, chip, drill and brush away the bits of rock around the fossil. When their efforts result in the buildup of dust, players blow into the Nintendo DS microphone to blow the dust away.

The game rates players on how well they handle the fossils during the cleaning process. The more carefully and completely a player cleans a fossil, the more powerful the vivosaur will be in battle. Vivosaurs can also gain more power through battles.

Players must collect various parts of each vivosaur. The head must be found first to bring a vivosaur to life while the body, arms and legs can be added to increase its power on the battlefield and imbue it with special powers.

The game features an engrossing role-playing storyline and vast environments for players to explore. Players can connect wirelessly with friends to battle or trade their fossils.

Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis Review

Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Operation Genesis is an economic sim where you create your own dinosaur park, but a few real-time elements breathe some new life into the genre.Think of it as a game of Theme Park, where the main attractions can kill you.
You start off the game on your own custom island, researching DNA, building exhibits, and of course constructing huge fences to keep the dinosaurs contained. As your research progresses, you are able to create bigger and badder dinosaurs that generate additional customer interest.Of course this raises the danger level as well.To provide research material, you hire teams of archaeologists to dig up bones and amber. As more material is collected and researched, the DNA of each dinosaur becomes more complete and the dinosaurs live longer as a result.
I think the developers struck a nice balance of keeping the money management focused mainly on dinosaur research and less on the park itself so it doesn't turn into yet another economic sim.You do have to monitor some areas like food and park cleanliness, but that's about it.The majority of money is spent developing dinosaurs and their needs. For instance, the dinosaurs need to be vaccinated to prevent a number of diseases that can afflict the animals.Once the vaccines are developed, you need to build a helicopter station so they can be shot with the vaccine (or shot period if they go nuts and start attacking everything.)You can't spend the entire time focused only on the dinosaurs, though. You also need to spend time researching new and better exhibits, such as balloon rides, viewing towers, and the ever-popular jungle safari tours in the woefully inadequate Nissan pickups, so the customers can see the dinosaurs better and improve your park rating.
As the research improves and new technologies are developed, you get an email telling you everything, and I mean everything that happens. This starts to get a little annoying after a while as many of the "common sense" decisions could be delegated. It would have been nice to be able to adjust the settings so certain decisions, like reviving a sick dinosaur or selling fully researched DNA material, could be made automatically.Every so often, a little real-time gameplay comes into action. For instance, a dinosaur might trash one of the pickups, leaving the survivors stranded and it's up to you to fly a helicopter overhead and rescue them before they get trampled on or eaten.Or, if you like, you can jump on one of the balloons or pickups to take some pictures of the dinosaurs. If your photography skills are good enough, they might get published and you'll make a little extra cash as a result.
One of the best features of the game is simply watching the behavior of the dinosaurs as they interact with one another.Certain dinosaurs tend to get along, others don't.As you introduce new and different dinosaurs, the dynamics of the park change. When my park started off with all herbivores, they would wander all over the place.Once I introduced some carnivores, especially my bad-boy T-Rex, they tended to become much more territorial.Plus my normally docile triceritops would start freaking out and trash any nearby pickups, much to the chagrin of the customers.Other dinosaurs would get so stressed, they'd simply keel over and die. Some of the behaviors are a little buggy, they like pushing each other around while they're sleeping, for instance. But for the most part they do seem to have individual personality and it adds a lot to the game.
There are some minor gripes, such as being forced to used certain functions with a keyboard even though the entire game could have been mouse driven. My main gripe, though, is that it's a little too easy.I'm no expert in these types of games, but even in my first game, I easily created a money making machine with every exhibit and every dinosaur researched in spite of numerous mistakes that I wouldn't make my second time around. There's really not much involved in keeping the park maintained or the customers happy. It didn't seem like it made much difference to the customers whether I had a few or a lot of dinosaurs. In fact, it seems like the less dinosaurs you have, the easier it is to play.Having said that, I was feeling pretty smug about my park when a huge twister ripped through destroying everything in its path.I was having so much fun watching the devastation that I forgot to declare a state of emergency.Let's just say that the few customers that lived probably won't return anytime soon.
So should you buy it?If you're looking for a complex economic sim, you'll probably be happier with Sim City 4.It's also graphics-intensive, so it'll struggle on standard video cards, but anyone with a Geforce or Radeon will be able to play it.Aside from that, you really do get the "virtual" thrill of building and managing your very own dinosaur park.Hope the review helped.

Paraworld Review

Paraworld
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The RTS genre has yet to be saturated. Nevertheless, it had been getting repetitive and stale lately. PARAWORLD was a breath of fresh air and it is a VERY FUN game to play!

You are thrown into a world where dinosaurs roam the land and different tribes wage war on each other for the control of resources (wood, rock and food). Each of the three tribes have distinctly units and buildings - and their own tamed dinosaurs. Mounted rhinos, war-mammoths, prehistoric...steam-warships, guarding water-snakes - the list of original ideas is endless!
What has to be mentioned is that playing each different faction does not convey the feeling that you are replaying the same over and over - only with different colors. One tribe has stronger buildings yet weaker units; the other has more dinosaurs yet its fortifications are easily overrun. On top of that, they are all beautifully balanced.

Graphically the game is very well made. Units look and move in a very realistic way, the environmental elements (grass, trees and water) have been nicely rendered - all in all, an impressively looking game.

I picked this for a song - but that is the fate of any game sporting an idiotic protection scheme. The are bin fodder before the year is out. PARAWORLD uses STARFORCE (can you say "class-action suit"?) - hence the star withheld. A pity, such a great game to be shot in the foot by its own publisher.

If you are boycotting STARFORCE games be warned. Otherwise,

RECOMMENDED!
