(More customer reviews)Last year's Call of Duty Finest Hour was a totally new game, using a similar engine to Medal of Honor on the consoles. It didnt feel like the PC game in any respects really. People who complained then, will now be totally happy. Big Red One not only looks fantastic (near PC graphics), it feels and plays just as great as it's PC brothers. I feel a hint of Medal of Honor European Assault every once and awhile but this game is far more polished and thought out. The storyline is a major draw in, offering some great character moments. I read some of the guys that starred in the HBO mini-series Band of Brothers do some voice work in the game, however I haven't picked up on it quite yet, although I've got some ideas. On thing is for certain...Mark Hammil (star of Big Red One movie from 1981) narrates this epic game and does a very nice job. I recently bought Brothers in Arms Earned in Blood for xbox aswell and if your asking me to make a buying decision for you I'd say...
1. Big Red One is more run and gun, Earned in Blood is tactical.
2. This game is far more family friendly, Earned in Blood ISN'T.
3. Both games offer unique gameplay and are both worth 50 bucks.
If your looking for a rich new experience that has the polish of a great PC game, please do yourself a favor and buy this game. There are at least 5 WWII themed games coming out for the Holidays this year and Big Red One is diffenetly a winner. The A.I. is revolutionary for a console game offering such epic action scenes. The weapons are standard fare in a WWII game, but are more enjoyable than ever, seeming more powerful. Levels are diverse and I was thouroly impressed with each one, the D-Day beach landing is a very special thing for me in this game as it was the recreation of this scene in Medal of Honor Frontline that sucked me into the WWII franchise. Activision and Tyrench's take on the greatest invasion of all time is incredibley intense. And yes I have managed to cruise through the game very fast. The Battle of the Bulge, as well as the early Africa levels are great, as are the Normandy levels (its just Normandy has been used so many times in videogames) The ending levels in Germany are very fun and you feel such a great sense of accomplishment after beating the game, which should take 12 to 14 hours. 10 out of 10. Nintendogs Labrador Retriever & Friends Review

(More customer reviews)When I first got Nintendogs last Christmas, I expected myself to do as normal; love it for the first month or two, and then set it down. However, this game was not the case.

Adopting Your New Pet
I was.. extatic for my first pet. I believe you start out with $1,000 dollars, enough to buy a $600 pet and starter supplies. For me, I adopted a Shiba, gave it a red collar, and wah la! My real life puppy in my hands. Of course you start out with the dogs on the cover, Lab, Mini Schnauser, Toy poodle, corgi, mini pinscher, and shiba inu, and one of those will be your first pet. As you work with your dogs, petting and gaining their love, you will earn trainer points, which will later enable you to the rest of the dogs from all versions. Yes, you can get all dogs.

Trainer Points
You can earn training points from petting your dog (look for the "sparks" to fly), playing in competitions, and a lot more. The more you earn the more dogs and items you can have. For the pets:
Pug- 2,000 points
German Shepherd- 4,000 points
Shih Tzu- 8,000 points
Boxer- 10,000 points
Beagle- 14,000 points
Golden Retriever- 20,000 points
Cavalier Spaniel- 22,000 points
Siberian Husky- 30,000 points
Yorkshire Terrier(Yorkie)- 35,000 points
Dachshund- 45,000 points
Chihuahua- 50,000 points
Dalmation- You must take your dog on a walk and find the firemans hat
Jack Russell Terrier- Take your pup on a walk and find the Jack Russell Terriers book.
Of course you can also unlock items such as a jump rope, but you can look that up via internet. Sorry!

Walks
You can take your pup on a walk all over "town". Basically, you can see a map of the "town" and you can drag your stylus around the streets to get to where you desire. Aim to hit the little blue boxes that have a question mark on them as those will be your special events.

Special Events and Destinations
Of course on walks you will have areas and events to do. Aim for the blue "?" boxes like I mentioned earlier, and you can either:
1.)Have your dog stop and see another dog
2.)Have your dog get a present for you
However, it is random.
As for destinations, you can go to one of two discount shops where you can buy food, supplies and toys at a discounted price, go to one of two parks, and go to an Agility Training arena to practice for the competition.

Competitions
There are three competitions, agility (obstacle course), frisbee and Training (have dog perform tricks). Beat the current first place person's score to win first! You can either get first (most prize cash), second (middle prize cash), or third (not too much cash) or not a place (no cash). Win first to move up to the next level of the competition. Note: three plays per day.

Bathing and Feeding
You will bathe and feed your dogs. Make sure to stock up on that kind of supplies, cleaning supplies every other day, and food and water everyday.

LAST BUT NOT LEAST, its your GAME.
Your dogs will know it's you! The built in microphone will pick up your voice as you name your dog with your voice, and train it with your voice. No more siblings stealing your game! The dogs won't recognize them!

Call of Duty 2 Review

(More customer reviews)This is one great game. While I dont think its better then the first, anyone who likes FPS, or WWII games should definetly pick this one up.

Let me talk about the graphics first. Overall this is a very tight looking package. Textures, normal mapping, the works. It ranks up there with the F.E.A.R.'s and Half Life 2's of the world. The only problem is that the game slows down (on pc, no slowdown on Xbox 360 version) when alot of smoke is on screen. But when your in the smoke, you dont notice much because you cant see that well. A great looking game all around.

The sound in the game is good as well. There are a couple of problems, but for now Ill stick to the good. The voiceovers are top notch. They are done by many actors from the Band of Brothers series. Its funny, you can notice that its Malarky, Garneir, Pencala, and others voices in the game. Adds a good feel to the sound. The battle sounds are great also. Guns sound great for the most part, and explosions and what not all sound great. Music is great as well. There are a couple of problems with the sound though. One, the battle chatter system always sounds like your fellow soldiers are no more then 2 feet away, when, like on the Pointe du Hoc level, your 100 feet ubove them. This takes away from the realisim of the game for me. Also, the Thompson and M1Garand sounds arent that good. Thompson sounds week, unlike the powerful .45 cal ACP round it fires. The M1 sounds to crackly also, where the actual gun sounds more popish, in terms of gun sounds.

One good thing about the game is that all the levels are intense, from start to finish. It never lets up. The only thing is the health system. It is very reminesent of the Halo 2 health system, but without the Sci-Fi setting. The realisim was undercut here as well. I was kind of dissapointed they went with more of an arcade like feel with the health. I think they should have made a medic that you could get health from as well as the health packs. This would have also kept the pace of the game up, without the backtracking for health like in the first.

If you arent sick of FPS, or WWII games, go pick this one up. If you like arcade feeling WWII games, this is the game for you. If you want realisim, this probably isnt the best choice for you. Get the first Brothers in Arms if you want realisim. If you like intense, frantic, out of controll squad based combat, pick this one up as soon as you can. The Collectors Edition, in my opinion, is worth a little extra chedder.

Presintation. 8.5- The game is presented well, some slowdown hurts though.

Graphics. 9.5- One of the better looking games out there right now, Especially if you have a good computer.

Sound. 9.0- Sounds great, some design problems and lackluster gun sounds for Thompson and M1, but otherwise great.

Gameplay. 9.5- Incredibly intense and lots of fun. Very arcadeic, and not realistic, buts lots of fun.

Lasting Appeal. 9.5- Single player has lots of replay, Multiplayer is a blast also.

Overall. 9.2

Star Wars Battlefront II Review

(More customer reviews)I haven't played through the whole game yet but the improvements I have seen so far are very good. However before I get to the changes in game play I have to say that this game makes Battlefront I look like a walk in the park. The space battles are HARD and when I say "HARD" I mean borderline "IMPOSSIBLE". Flying over to land on an opposing ship with turbo lasers frying anything that gets close to it only to land (if you make it) and have 10 enemy pilots waiting to blast you when you step out of the cockpit as well as automated blasters guarding vital systems that you need to blow up equals a lot of controller hurling frustration.

On the positive side the playable heroes are powerful but unfortunately seem to function more as temporary bonuses rather than "characters". Heroes can only be accessed during certain points in a battle and are limited to their own boards. For example you can't play as Han Solo during the Clone Wars. Once a hero is killed you'll be waiting awhile for them to respawn unless you change the settings.

The graphics are much improved over the first game but as a trade off (on the PS2 version) the game does suffer from choppy animation and even slowdown at times. As far as sound goes you will still get tired of hearing "They've captured a command post!" but having voice actors that at least sound similar to the each of the heroes was a nice touch.

Battlefront II also ushers in some new game play modes including the 501st mode which is Battlefront's version of a story mode that follows the storyline of the films.Some older modes have been given a new amount of depth including a much deeper, sophisticated Galactic Conquest mode and better Instant Action mode that lets you incorporate heroes right from the start (rather than having to unlock them)

All in all this is probably the most comprehensive, "all purpose" Star Wars game in awhile. While most Star Wars games focus on the events of specific movie or on characters that don't even appear in the movies, this game spans ALL the movies and has every major character, minion, and vehicle represented and playable in some way. You can't ask for much more than that...
