REAL WAR /ROUGE STATES GAME TIPS......apply to both games
Maximize you supply capacity ASAP in this manner.
1. Build 3 supply bases a three generators to start. Generators speed building.
2. Build Land Command center and a couple more generators.
3. Build Vehicle Yard and Infantry base.
4. Build Land Strategy Center. Turns on options in other bases.
5. Select upgrade for all 3 supply bases.
6. Build complete Air Strip and upgrade its supply.
7. Build complete Sea Base and upgrade its supply.
8. Build defense and attack forces in balanced manner. Give air defense a priority.
9. Attack in waves and start attacking early! Rebuild lost forces of one type while you attack with another type. Dont sit a watch, it wastes time.
10. Select offensive units and and hold down shift key you select targets one after the other to attack, then right click to finish. With aircraft select targets a bit farther apart so they do not half to circle and come back and attack. A spiral attack pattern hitting every other target allows planes to proceed in straighter line and gives them time to recharge before they can fire again. That also makes anti-air defense have to chase to shoot them down.
11. Build a Special Operations base, that permits a Nuke Silo to be built. Each time a Nuke is used the next one is approximately 15% stronger. The 6th nuke will be devastating. Target units or buildings away from air defense units to build the force progression in the monster nuke. Nukes shot down will not help you achieve this.
12. Lead nuke attack with air strike with fighter bombers. They have ATG missiles that overload anti-air defense units ability to target nuke.
13. Nuke defense. Create several mixed task forces of helicopters, fighters, and ground anti-air units and patrol them over the edge of your base on a line with the enemy base. When nuke is launched move zoom window over it and with task force selected pick nuke directly to attack. You will hear a chunk sound when it is selected. That way even if it is screened with escort aircraft you can still shoot it down. The layered structure of a nuke defense task force will have better chance even if some parts of it are destroyed by an enemy lead attack force. Create several nuke defense task forces for a better chance of success.
14. Rangers, Seals and ILA Guerillas slipped behind enemy defenses can be used to sabotage bases and blow them up.
15. Patrol In Location. Select unit(s) to patrol a path. Select Patrol In Location key. Hold down Shift key while picking boundary points for unit(s) to patrol. Then release Shift key and pick any point on the map to complete. Unit(s) will go to starting point and begin patrol action. This is very effective to make air defense ground units difficult to hit with cruise missiles. A mine layer or anti submarine helicopter may be programed to lay mines or sonar sensors in a prescribed path.
16-A(for Asshole play). To piss off your opponent and risk him NEVER wanting to play you again use a RUSH attack. Build a full task force of ATG attack aircraft. As soon as they appear send one each to 2 of the 3 possible locations where your opponent can be. Send the rest, as soon as they appear, to the center of the map. When the enemy base is found, by process of elimination, attack immediately, taking out the few critical anti-air units and base components that have been built. Game can be won in a few minutes in the first couple passes by your planes against an unprepared player.
16-B(for Better play). Make efforts to encourage new players so more will want to play. So at start of game ask, Rush? or No Rush? Play defense and allow them to attack. Of course you will have a 2nd base built by then anyway so why not? Share info like Im doing.
17. Do you know how to use Hot Keys? Master these!! Allows you to build faster. You can build a unit using alt+ a hot key. Using your Headquarters, Alt Q builds a generator, Alt W builds a Supply Base. Use keys QWERT 1st row in building menu, ASDFG 2nd row in building menu and ZXCVB 3rd row in building menu. Each base has Hot Keys associated with it. Discover them all in a practice game.
18. Know how to use Task Forces? Master this too!! Select forces to group first. One way to build an air strike force fast is to select one Helicopter then press the Insert key. That will allow all units of that type visible on the screen to be picked at once. Then Press Ctrl, Shift and a number key, say 3 for example, all at the same time. Every time 3 is pressed the Helicopter Task Force will be selected to attack or defend with.
19. When attacking, hold the shift key down to select successive targets. This is good when using Navy seals to sabotage the enemy fleet, or when attacking by air.
20. Putting rocket infantry into bunkers helps to repel enemy tanks and ground troops. Groups of three rocket infantry can target and bring down enemy aircraft.
21. Use your sub hunter to drop sonar around your naval base, to detect enemy submarines before they attack. This allows you to counter-attack them by dropping sonar guided topedos from the sub hunter.
22. Bases or critical units weakened by attack? Hover cursor over the base or unit, select the K key to kill the base or unit yourself. Then rebuild it in a more protected area.
23. Rally points, red ovals were new units appear, can be moved to any visible part of the map. For example, click on Sea Base. Rally point will appear. Hold down shift key and use cursor to drag red oval to new location at sea.
24. Hot Keys, Task Forces and Patrol In Location of your Air Defence units are what you need to master.
25. Watch your back door or some SOB will land a invasion force behind you.
26. Attack!

Known game play problems.
Real War - Cruise missiles fired in multiple salvos from three or more ships can lock up the game if fired to quickly, like every half second. So fire slower every 4 seconds and you should be ok. Two ships can fire quicker every 2 seconds but dont push it. A lot of base building is wasted when the game locks up and you have to start over. This is not a problem with RougeStaes.
If game locks up, your done. Bail out by pressing the Ctrl, Alt and Del keys all at once and your PC Task Manager will come up. Select the Real War process that is Not Responding and end it. It will take a few seconds for it to close. Re-enter Real War as usual and try again.
Combat Engineer Repair function does not work in On-line multi-player games in Real War, only in single player scrimmage mode.Combat Engineer Repair function does work in On-line multi-player games in Rouge States. That bug was fixed.
Hitting the Windows key by accident will cause the game to pause. Screen will go black and minimize to menu bar. Just hit it again and game will resume. Fat fingers is the cause.
Game Lag. When 3 or more players are in a game and 100 units apiece are nearly all built by all the players the game will freeze on the screen at times from 2 to 20 seconds. You just have to wait it out. Or all exit restart the game and host can limit each player to 75 units apiece. That will help.
Check your PC from time to time to see if it needs to be Defragmented and disc space compressed to clear up disc space.Do not select COMPACT FILES.That is only for archive files to save disc space.Do it to your game files or hard drive and you are screwed.Everything will run slower.
LOWERING VIDEO SETTINGS
If the system is working slowly, action may freeze on the screen. Before the next restart all players should go to the options menu, or press the F1 shortcut key, and change settings to 640X480 resolution, while making sure that the following options are turned off:
a. 3D Shadows
b. 3D Acceleration
c. Ocean Waves
d. Fog of War
Single player Cheat Mode.
Does not work ON-LINE!I tried. It works only in scrimmage games, single player.
While playing, press the following keys to activate these cheats:
Full Supplies - Hold CTRL + LEFT ARROW + F9 then press S
No Fog - Hold CTRL + RIGHT ARROW then press F

MAPS MAPS AND MORE MAPS
One free one offered for RW and another for RS.Get those first, no bugs. I have them and more.

Deadly Creatures Review

Deadly Creatures
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This game is unlike anything I have ever played.I have been following this title since I first heard about it early this year, and am glad to report that I was not disappointed! This game is an interesting take on gaming, since I really can't compare it to anything else on the market. There really isn't any other game to compare it to.I only hope that it will catch the attention of Wii owners, since this kind of creativity is all too often overlooked by consumers. Here `s what I liked:

CREEPY gameplay and sound effects: 10/10 I do not like bugs (in person)...but I am fascinated by them. The protagonists of this game are a Tarantula and a Scorpion, and as such, the game is played from their perspective. From the very opening scenes of the game, your senses are assaulted with creepy and foreign sounds that I really can't explain... but they work: you will be completely immersed in the world as these insects see it.It is a really interesting feeling:The cutscenes and sound track are very well done, and manage to create a really creepy and immersive atmosphere... almost like a survival-horror game. And I can't say enough about the sound effects... all these little random bug noises (and also some not-so-little bug noises!), and the sound of the creepy-crawlies walking around is especially interesting (considering that, like I said, I am not a big fan of bugs!).Also, take note of your surroundings while you walk around. There is a storyline to follow involving humans, and you have a front row seat from a bug's perspective... and as such, you will encounter all sorts of interesting things buried and hidden in the desert.

Gameplay/Fighting: 8/10 -Around every corner waits a battle with thug-like Gila Monsters, stealth and deadly spiders, venomous beetles, or a number of other interesting adversaries. You will quickly find that as the Tarantula/Scorpion you are well equipped to defend yourself. As you progress through the game, you unlock new moves/combos, as well as increased abilities and strengths.Let me tell you... the fighting portions of this game are VERY rewarding... some of the "finishing combos" that you perform are really interesting and cinematic...and surprisingly brutal. In addition, since you are an insect, you endowed with really interesting abilities that add some interesting elements to the game: swinging around by spider web, crawling up and down walls, charging up and delivering powerful venom-charged attacks... I had a really good time playing this game, and would be really happy to see a sequel. For sure, this kind of creativity should be rewarded. If only more developers had the guts to put out this kind of new stuff.A game like this could ONLY be done right on the Wii!

Controls: 7.5/10 - The controls are simple, and they work. There aren't any gimmicky waggle controls. When you perform the finishing moves, you do have to chain together some wiimote and nunchuck movements that are prompted on the screen in order to complete the combo, but I found that this really made the game enjoyable, and weren't gimmicky. The motion controls don't feel tacked on, as is the case with a lot of 3rd party Wii games, and there aren't any dumb mini-games.The camera was also really well done, despite what I read in some reviews online... I was actually surprised at the quality of the camera in fact.

Replay value: 7/10 - I started the game off on Normal difficulty rather than on Easy, and the game seems nicely balanced. However, after a few levels I thought I would kick it up a notch and play on "Deadly" mode... and proceeded to get jumped by a pair of scorpions that handed by butt to me repeatedly... so I dialed the game back down to Normal difficulty and was able to proceed. So, I am certain that once I beat this game on Normal, I will likely give it a rest for a few months, then come back and try it again on Deadly, and no doubt it will be just as enjoyable and challenging as it was this time thru.I should mention, though, that the game has NO multiplayer modes. It would have been nice to include the option to allow for you and a friend to play through the game together or perhaps some kind of versus mode, and this would have made the game's replay value better.Once you have beaten this game on Deadly mode, there really isn't much to say or do.That said, it is still a solid single-player game, and definitely worth a play-through!

Deadly, Motion-Controlled Combat with Wii Technology
Your Wii controller gives you the ability to move stealthily and attack quickly, just like the real creatures these characters are based on. Each animal has a unique mode of operating, which means that the two interconnected narratives behind this game each offer their own distinctive challenges to conquer.
As the armored, action-oriented scorpion, you'll string together stinging blows into deadly combo moves that culminate in cinematic finishes and decimate your opponents. Playing as the sneaky tarantula requires a little more finesse--you'll find yourself leaping from above onto your nemesis, throw out neatly aimed shots of webbing to paralyze your prey, and finishing creatures off with your devastating fangs.
Wild Enemies and a Sinister Back Story
It takes skill and composure to master the moves the scorpion and tarantula have at their disposal. And, even after you think you've got every move down, you'll find you need to learn methods, since these life-and-death struggles take place between you and a huge array of vicious, hazardous creatures, including wolf spiders, rattlesnakes, Gila Monsters, Tarantula Wasps, black widows, mantises, enemies of your own species, rats, and even humans.
Beyond the immediacy of fighting for survival, this game features a story of greed and betrayal in the human world. Slowly unveiled from the disparate perspectives of the two headline creatures, this evolving storyline helps keep even advanced players engaged and guessing at the implications of their own actions.
Explore Brutal, Unforgiving Environments
Whichever creature you're playing as, you'll have 360-degree access to a wide range of 3D environments based in the harsh Sonoran Desert. You'll explore a gloomy maze of thorny brambles, forgotten underground tunnels filled with rusting pipes, an above ground wasteland packed with people's garbage, and even a desolate gas station. Each arena promises to challenge your skills as a hunter and a survivor in its own way, while unique angles and a sense of scale that turns small, familiar objects into major obstacles help make these environs especially prickly.

Red Faction Guerrilla Review

Red Faction Guerrilla
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I do not normally write reviews, but I want to mention this game to help its sales since I know it it not as heavily covered as some other game releases this year.

In short I agree with the other positive reviewers so far.I do not usually like open world games.I thought Grand Theft Auto IV was ok, but this seems superior. The mission types are more varied (to me), the weapons are more interesting (the sledgehammer alone is great!) and the ability to interact and demolish buildings is much more "real."Also the mech vehicles are well done.

The physics engine for the building is simply amazing. It makes games that do not have their buildings take damage now seem "off."

I like that the multiplayer has the standard fare, but also some newer approaches involving destroying or defending buildings. This certainly should help people get longer value.

I have not played the previous Red Faction titles so cannot compare.I will say the story is not amazing, but it is good enough. You can read other reviews about the story. And if I had to choose between gameplay and story, I would choose gameplay.

Cons: As mentioned, sometimes missions can be a bit repetitive. Also, sometimes there are way too many enemies that spawn. But you can still come out victorious.

In the year 2075, the Earth Defense Force (EDF) received a distress signalfrom a small mining facility on the surface of Mars. A group of rebels callingthemselves the Red Faction had overthrown the ruthless Ultor Corporationafter years of oppression. The EDF responded by launching a fleet of warshipsto Mars to aid the miners, bring Ultor to justice and restore order to theMartian colonies. In order to ensure safety and security for the newly liberatedcolonists, the EDF set up command posts and bases across the planet. Initially, under the EDF's rule, the people of Mars prospered: colonists establishedhomesteads, built towns and independent mining operations and began to stakeand work their mining claims. But the more things change on Mars, the morethey stay the same.

The troubles began with colonists being driven from their homes and mining claims by greedy, Earth-based corporations. Then came a 50 year turn of events that saw the EDF adopting the heavy-handed tactics that it once stood against. Yet in doing so it also instilled a deep-seated resentment among the miners and settlers of the Martian colonies. One of these new Martians is miner Alec Mason, whose dream of a new life carved out of the course Martian soil was crushed in the face of EDF-ordered curfews, detention centers, beatings, mass arrests and personal tragedy. But as powerful as the EDF is, there is resistance. Mason and a small group of revolutionaries have banded together, taken up the Red Faction name and pledged to again bring about a free Mars. And though their enemy has changed, their battle cry remains unchanged: "Better Red than Dead."

Key Game Features:

Join the Revolution - When the citizens of Mars can no longer bear the injustice of an oppressive regime, the fate of the planet lies in the hands of Alex Mason and the Red Faction.
Open World Guerilla Warfare - You decide who, when, where and how to battle. Utilize guerilla tactics, improvised weaponry, and modified vehicles to lead insurgent attacks on EDF targets. Launch attacks based on your own gameplay style, take on missions in any order you choose, or engage in destructive activities to weaken the EDF's grip on Mars.
Geo-Mod Technology 2.0 - Use destruction to your tactical advantage, setting ambushes or chain reaction explosions to attack enemy strongholds and permanently modify the game environment. Leverage fully-dynamic physics-based destruction to improvise on the fly: blow holes in a wall or floor to set an ambush or escape, take out a staircase to stop your pursuers, or drive vehicles through blown out walls.
Evolving & Emergent Gameplay - Carve your path through an ever changing landscape as you improvise your combat tactics – mixing gameplay styles, vehicles, weapons and explosives to defeat the EDF.
Epic Sci-fi Setting - Explore the huge, unforgiving Martianlandscape, from the desolate mining outpost of Parker to the gleamingEDF capital city of Eos; then tear through the fully destructible open-worldenvironments swarming with EDF forces, Red Faction resistance fighters, and the downtrodden settlers caught in the crossfire.
Multiplayer Combat - There is no place to hide when you put your guerilla warfare skills to the test in a variety of highly destructive 2-16 person online multiplayer combat modes.
Xbox LIVE Support - Build your Xbox 360 gamer score, achievements collection and leaderboard placement through full Xbox LIVE support.
Guerilla Warfare
You don't stand a chance against the EDF using standard military tactics. The only recourse when the few stand against the many is the use of hit and runtactics. Learn the routes of the patrols and quickest ways in and out ofEDF strongholds. By studying these things you can instinctively know whento attack, and when to wait for a better opportunity.

Ambushes are also useful in thinning EDF ranks. Remote charges andproximity mines are your best friend when preparing an ambush. A few well-placedcharges on the structural supports of a bridge can do wonders for stoppinga convoy dead in its tracks. Above all else, remember this: guerilla tactics are not aboutfighting fair, they are about winning.

Simpsons: Hit and Run Review

Simpsons: Hit and Run
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The Simpsons: Road Rage was a clean cut, crazy take off of Crazy Taxi. The game came with lots of fun and kept the gamer in the Springfield mindset with the goofy artwork. The Simpsons: Hit and Run is a take off of the series Grand Theft Auto games. Like Road Rage, Hit and Run keeps the gamer entertained with many aspects of the game.

The storyline of Hit and Run takes a large positive leap from the lacking plot of Road Rage, keeping a "true to the Simpsons" feel. Starting with a simple number of shopping errands, the story evolves into an investigation and then a whacked out Simpsonic final level.
The gameplay and control of Hit and Run is much more realistic than the goofy Road Rage. The car control will remind you of many other greatly developed car games you have played and the on foot control will always encourage you to loot away from your vehicle. With realistic yet easy-to-master control, Hit and Run creates a very pleasing interface.
Alike Road Rage, Hit and Run will keep you laughing at the voice recordings of the Simpsons cast as you crash into people, fall off of ledges and run around on foot. The lines uttered from the characters in Hit and Run are very true to the Simpsons show which gains the game much credit.
One negative aspect of Hit and Run would have to be attributed to its replay value. The game is extremely fun the first time through and becomes a challenge as the levels progress, but once the missions have all been completed, there remains little left to do. The gamer can sweep through each level again collecting and destroying certain items they may have missed. This option does grant the game credit for replay value, but not much.
The Simpsons: Hit and Run is a title worthy to be of Simpsons merchandise. The storyline keeps the gamer entertained and eager to move on. The realistic car control creates a fun, easy to master environment and the "out of vehicle" interface makes the gamer want to loot on foot. Very well orchastrated voice acting creates a humorous and unique world which stays true to the Simpsons. The Simpsons: Hit and Run is a step up from The Simpsons: Road Rage. The game will keep both Simpson fans and car driving fanatics greatly pleased. Many complain that Hit and Run is too realistic and should have used "cell shading." This point is well taken, but could never be an option considering the creators and producers of The Simpsons have always desired their show to steer clear of a comical feel. The Simpsons: Hit and Run keeps the gamer entertained thoroughly and only rarely does said gamer realise he's playing a cartoon.

Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Chaos Theory Review

Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Chaos Theory
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The Windows version of Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory is infected with Starforce, which besides potentially wrecking your Windows installation, can also physically destroy optical drives (and also may not work with newer hardware or operating systems).

Because of the infection, pick up one of the console versions of the game if you're interested.Obviously the graphics won't be as good, but they're still fine.Another alternative will be to play it through Gametap's rental service, when it shows up on there.

The game itself is a solid entry in the stealth action genre.Worth playing if you're a fan of the genre.

Note that as of today, this is the ONLY version infected with Starforce.Earlier and later entires in the series do NOT have Starforce, just this one.

Lost Planet 2 Review

Lost Planet 2
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
STORY *no spoilers* (7/10): Lost Planet 2 is a 3rd-person multiplayer action title that takes place on the planet EDN III, which used to be completely frozen over. However, escalating conflicts between human colonists and the planet's indigenous Akrid lifeforms have caused drastic climate changes to take effect, spawning dense jungles, arid deserts, and everything in between. All of this eventually culminates in a revelation about how the entire planet is threatened by a looming global calamity, and the involvement of the various interested factions will play a pivotal role in how it all will end.Pretty standard sci-fi action plotline, but it works. It's worth noting that there really isn't a "main character" per se, which makes it difficult to relate to the story and the people affected by it.But then, that's not really what LP2 is about.LP2 is all about...

GAMEPLAY (9/10): ...and here is where it shines.By default, LP2 is set up to allow players to link up via the internet and join each other in a cooperative Campaign mode. It's possible to tackle the Campaign mode in single-player, but as the maps and objectives you'll encounter are clearly built to accommodate multiple players, you'll invariably find them difficult to conquer solo. You've been warned. But if you've got a team of armed militants at your back, the experience is highly enjoyable. No, it's downright awesome.Playing in any mode earns you points that you can use to purchase new weapons, equipment, and armor pieces to customize your character. There's a HUGE selection of weapons, ranging from sticky grenades and magnum revolvers, to energy shields and rocket launchers, to mega-shotguns and Death Star-esque concussive laser cannons. And they're all a truckload of fun to decimate your enemies with. There are plenty of situations that actually call for real strategy between teammates in the pursuit of victory, and this is even more apparent in competitive multiplayer matches.Managing your team's T-ENG (Thermal Energy) reserves is critical to healing wounded team members and arming energy weapons.Teamwork is heavily encouraged by the wide range of VS (Vital Suits - mobile armor/weapon mechs) platforms, some of which can be operated by several players at once, each manning their own cannon or piloting the suit's movements. The grappling hook adds even more offensive/defensive options, allowing you to cross real estate quickly, reach high platforms, rappel down sheer drops, and cling to moving targets while you unload your clip at point-blank.A bloody good time.By the way, don't expect the AI to be very clever or tactical; your enemies are good shots, but they're generally not so hot at seeking cover.Best to challenge real human players.System Link and split-screen multiplayer modes are also available, for the internet-challenged.

GRAPHICS (8/10): I've always liked the unique visuals Capcom's generated using their MTF engine, and LP2 is no exception here. The jungle environments in particular are very colorful and vibrant, invoking images of a romp through Jurassic Park.Except instead of dinosaurs, there are huge, hostile aliens with many sharp protrusions. The Akrid foes you encounter come in all shapes and sizes, and for the most part, their animations are smooth and organic.Probably the most obvious eye-candy can be had in the huge, spectacularly colorful array of sparks, explosions, and electrical discharges issued from the business end of your chosen weapon.Watching as your foe is engulfed in a bright sphere of searing plasma, then launched across the map by the ensuing blast wave is a joy that never gets old. There are also plenty of destructive environments, which is a plus. It's been stated by a few professional reviews that there's a lack of character subtext/facial expression, but LP2 isn't a character-focused game, so I think that's a petty criticism.Aside from some negligible clipping errors, the visuals deliver a unique and engrossing experience.

SOUND (10/10): It's hard to describe the hair-raising chill of awesome that I get from hearing the sound effects in LP2.The thunderous cracks and earth-shaking booms emanated by all the bullets, bombs and plasma bolts flying around the battlefield are some of the most striking noises I've heard this side of a Hollywood picture. The epic musical score a pretty catchy too, lending itself well to the massive scale of the adventures and battlefields you find yourself surrounded by.The voice-overs aren't exactly A-list talent, but they're pretty good.Very solid sound work here.

OVERALL (9/10): This is a game about two things: multiplayer, and blowing stuff up.And in this regard, LP2 is a success. In fact, next to Monster Hunter 3, this is probably one of the best multiplayer experiences I've ever had the pleasure of picking up.Totally worth checking out.

Lost Planet 2, offers deeper insight into the world of E.D.N III,the fictional NEVEC (Neo-Venus Construction) Corporation's attempt to controlthe flow of Thermal Energy (T-ENG), that is the key to survival on the harshplanet, and the uncertain fate of mankind as they battle the huge insectcreatures known as Akrid. A decade has passed since the events of the firstgame, and the face of E.D.N. III has changed dramatically. Terraformingefforts have been successful and the ice has begun to melt, giving way tolush tropical jungles and harsh unforgiving deserts. Players will enterthis new environment and follow the exploits of their own customized snowpirate on their quest to seize control of the changing planet.

Gameplay
Lost Planet 2, like the original game in the series, is a third-person shooter featuring huge boss battles, challenging terrain and the ability to pop in and out of battle mechs, known in-game as Vital Suits. The primary difference in gameplay this time around hinges on the inclusion of RPG gameplay elements. Players can now customize many of the aspects of their playable snow pirate, including his physical attributes, clothing and to a certain extent, weaponry and gestures. Players will control these customized heroes across 6 interconnected episodes, creating a truly unique and interactive experience that changes depending upon the actions of the players involved. With this concept, players will have the opportunity to engage in the story in a much more dynamic way as plot threads evolve from different players' perspectives.

Multiplayer
Beyond the deep single player mode, Lost Planet 2 is loaded with extensive multiplayer modes and play options. This includes 16-player online versus action, as well as a 4-player online co-op support and two-player split-screen functionality in local co-op play. In addition, the intense and action packed campaign mode allows for 4-player online co-op play to clear mission objectives with friends, unlockable weapons and the ability to resurrect fallen comrades.

Weaponry and Gadgets
No action game would be complete without an arsenal of weaponry, and to that end Lost Planet 2 comes loaded with a huge variety of hardware for players to unleash on unsuspecting enemies. Machine guns, shotguns, rocket launchers, lasers, sniper rifles, grenades and a host of other weapons are scattered across the game. However, Lost Planet 2's biggest weapons come on two legs: the heavily armed and armored robotic Vital Suits return in greater numbers and variety than the first game. There are Vital Suits that transform into other vehicles, and even some that hold up to three players and take multiple players to operate. Also, the grappling hooks that made the gameplay in Lost Planet a true 3D experience are back, allowing gamers to gain tactical advantage by quickly scaling buildings.

Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood Review

Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood

First off, I loved the feel of Assassin's Creed, but hated the game play.Assassin's Creed 2 completely sucked me in and made me absolutely love the game.Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood brought a big smile to my face that completely satisfied every impulse, knee jerk reaction to what I wanted from the second one.

It starts with a combination of two events.1) Right after you defeat the Borgia pope you return to your Villa. This, of course, is where you are lead to your training sequences for the new maneuvers of the game (which incidentally is much easier to use.instead of going to your Villa to train you can simply hit Start and choose training).2) You are taking part of the 2012 world of Desmond and your exploration of the Italy of that time, with its typical 21st century erosion on the old world. Both are fantastic.I couldn't help but love returning to the world of Ezio and exploring around.Even more so was the absolutely huge world of Rome, noticed straight away as you pan around to the distances. This is an absolutely different and way more majestic world than the world of Assassin's Creed 2.You know that although you will not travel to as many cities you will certainly explore more just by the huge size of Rome.

The graphics are amazing, touched up and refined from the last one.The controls are almost identical, allowing you to jump in to the game with ease. The added addition of the Brotherhood adds a lot despite the tendency to overuse your assassins and leave yourself vulnerable, when you would certainly want to use them.Regardless, the overall game play has improved, despite the fighting mechanisms still feeling a bit droll and not to unique.

Finally, after trying for awhile with little success I was able to get in and log on to the multiplayer server. This seems like a problem straight away because it shouldn't take 5-10 minutes to log in to a server, and then the next time you log in a matter of seconds.I found that after I waited for 5 minutes I had to cancel out and go back in in order to play. The play itself is a joy.You play anywhere from 6-10 people mixed in amidst a ton of "civilians" for about 10 minutes, stalking and hunting your prey or just straight up chasing them. This multiplayer has a much different feel than the typical slugfest and bullet ridden multiplayers of other games, simply because you literally have to get up close and personal before you can make your kill.

The campaign play is long and worth it, definitely not feeling like an add on and more so like a real stand alone game with its own merits. The multiplayer is well worth it as well, although not sure if the replay ability will get old or die down, something of which only time will tell.Add the two together and you have an absolute winner in Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood.A definite recommend.

5 stars.

Update: A direct comparison would show the following.AC2 has considerably more collectibles than ACB, but ACB's collectibles are much easier to find since maps are made available for any and all of them. That being said, there are a lot more side quests/missions that you can go on in ACB.When all is said and done I spent about 32 hours in AC2 and it took about 24 hours for ACB, athough there are still a lot of side quests to be completed (and clusters) and so it will take a bit more time. With game complete and all feathers, flags and treasures found, I am only at 51% sync, which shows that there are a good amount of hours left to be played. That being said I still haven't found all the feathers in AC2, and thus could still spend a lot more time there, so it is a wash.AC2 had 5 cities, plus a visit to the Vatican at the very end.ACB has just one large city, although you visit several other places on your missions.

I found that there was only one aspect that I wish were done differently which would have made the game that much better. You visit several villas when completing the quests to destroy DaVinci's war machines, as well as Firenze (sp?) and Viana Castle. It would have been so simple to make these places that you could visit and explore after you completed your mission.Viana Castle and its surrounding countryside, for example, would have been fantastic to explore and just run around.Instead you only visit it briefly and you are running and fighting the whole time you don't get to see it.Additionally, you don't get to climb up or explore around San Pietro. You see it always in the distance, then at the end you get to go up to its gates and then nothing. There is the Lair of Romulus that puts you in San Pietro but you are chasing a Cardinal at such a frantic pace you barely get to notice the huge and majestic building that would have been absolutely fantastic to just stop and hop from ledge to ledge.A simple touch to allow us to explore it after the game is compelte would have made this game that much better.

Only by working together can the assassins defeat their mortal enemies and prevent the extinction of their order.

Multiple Ways to Play
Expanding on the game world woven across the first two games in the franchise, Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood provides players with multiple ways to play. In single player mode you take on an engrossing campaign playing as Ezio, the hero from Assassin's Creed II, who has now risen to the level of Master Assassin. Here players scour the expansive environment of Renaissance-era Rome, tasked with ridding the Eternal City of the continuing stain of the Templars and in the process ensuring the survival of the guild of assassins. You are not in this alone though. Additional AI members of your guild are at your command, and can be summoned to your aid if need be. In addition to this, for the first time in the Assassin's Creed franchise players can compete with other would-be assassins in multiplayer action. In multiplayer modes players choose from a range of Assassin characters, each with their own backstory, unique weapons and assassination techniques. Choose your assassin character, utilize the virtual reality capabilities of Abstergo Industries' Animus technology and match your skills against other assassins from around the world. There's no time like now to join the Brotherhood.

Deadly Weapons Arsenal
Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood features a wide variety of weapons, depending on the mode of play. In single player players primarily utilize Ezio's weapons of choice, the hidden blade and crossbow, while in multiplayer modes players gain access to a wide variety of weapon, depending on the character they choose to play as. Examples of this include: the Axe, wielded by the Executioner; the Fan, used by the Courtesan; the Syringe, the tool by the Doctor; the Dagger, used by the Priest; the Switchblade, carried by the Prowler; and the Claw, used by the Nobleman.
