Harvest Moon Back to Nature Review

Harvest Moon Back to Nature

This game surpasses every other game made for the N64. IT is the most ebjoyable game. Its plot is different from most games as there are no badguys, bosses, fighting, or racing. It might sound pretty stupid as the plotmainly states farming, but there's much more that that. For instance, there's a whole world you can explore where you can buy animals, growcrops, and even make a girls love you by giving her things. You can getmarried from a variety of 5 girls or 10 girls in the PSX version. You caneven settle down and have up to three children in the PSX. The is muchmore, so much more the list would go on forever. To simply state it, the isthe best game in the history of Video game production. So I will ask you,Anybody who has a N64 or Play Station should deffinatly get this game as itnever gets boring. It's great fun for anyone and everyone. My dad has hisown file and loves it. The play station version should be much better theN64 version but the N64 version is still an out of this world Boo yahtotally incredible sweetness game. This game is simply about onething...life. By far the best game and also, I would rate it way higherthan 5 stars but I can't! IT'S THE BEST!

Harvest Moon: Boy & Girl Review

Harvest Moon: Boy & Girl

Yes this is a new version of Harvest Moon: back to nature with a few new twists.
Firstly, you will notice you may choose to be male Or female
(and yes they both have branching storylines and also different Marriage results!)
farming is Exact, possibly a little to exact as BTN (back to nature) but this is by far the best version for farming sim fans of the series. also back is the mining area which I had missed in other HM (harvest moon)
games (the ores for powering up tools are in here as well as other
Secrets!)

the sound is now dolby and the resolution has been notched up a little more then the ps1 version (its Progressive scan. go ahead and try running it on your TV with the new PSP go ahead... didn't work did it? you Have to have a Progressive scan high def. tv in order to use the Component cables the AV cables are for video etc. guess I proved my point on the graphics)
the animals can be fun or annoying, depends on what kind of farmer you are. Me personally, I prefer crop growing throughout summer *litle chicken raising too* then hothouse growing in winter! house and hothouse upgrades are here as well. this was a brilliant move to bring this gem to the psp!

graphics arent exactly God of War,(they are good though) but Perfect the way they are 5 star

sound is the same in dolby. good 4 star

to me 5 star! but not for everyone unless you have played the others.

Overall: this is by far my favorite Harvest Moon Game but stay tuned for my Innocent Life comparison Next Month.
5 Stars for Ownership of the farming/life sim game niche market.

there is a bank where you can put money in and take some out as you need it and this store buys your produce.the telephone in your house is how you sell your produce. And there are more crops like rice and wheat that you can grow.Other places include grasslands where you can Pick berries, chop wood, and you can snowboard here in the winter.other places are the cliff where you can Take your girlfriend on dates and sometime you can get married. The forest is where you can go fishing. And the other place is the mountians but I have not figured it out yet.And One more place on the mainland is a aquarium where you can donate your fish that you catch. And you can go see them. And one more thing. you can Build your own boat. This is a fun fun game and thats why I rate it 5 stars.

Absolutely the best farming simulation ever. I've played the SNES version, the first GB version, and both were fantastic. The essence of love is alsoput into the game, letting you marry village people and keep lots ofloveable animals. In the game, there's farming, love, and economicsurvival! What more do you want? 100/10!!

Harvest Moon 2 takes the chore out of farming. Here you'll start with a patch of dirt and work it into a profitable ranch. Playing as either a young man or young lady, you'll go into town to buy seed, tools, animals, and other items you need for your growing spread. Once there, be sure to check out all the new shops and get to know the townsfolk. Back on the farm, you'll grow crops, catch fish and insects, and collect a variety of flowers and herbs, which you can then share with friends through the separately sold link cable. You can even export items from Harvest Moon 2 into Legend of the River King 2. Also included are several minigames for you to play. Best of all, you don't need to get up at the crack of dawn to play this game.

Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town Review

Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town
Average Reviews:

Harvest Moon has been HUGELY addictive on the SNES and N64. The GBA version is just as addictive - and can be played anywhere!
The familiar, fun gameplay is here. You're a kid taking over a farm. The farm is in disrepair and needs help. You start out by weeding the garden, chopping the logs into boards and breaking up rocks. You slowly start growing crops, raising horses and chickens, and making a name for yourself.
You might think this would get boring, but time is running all the time. You have to get food to your animals, play with them, keep your crops watered, get your field cleared, mine for supplies, go into town and chat it up with the local girls.
There are the usual goodies - horse races, other festivals that come on certain days of the year. There are upgrades to your tools and little sprites that help you out with your tasks. You can fall in love with the girl of your dreams and build a life together. With lots of customizable names, from your farm to your dog to your horse, it really begins to feel like your own little world.
The graphics are great, and while it's not a button-mashing extreme, the clock is always ticking so you get a sense that you have to get going with your life in order to feed yourself and your animals. There aren't goals to meet or points to score - there is a farm to tend to and responsibilities to manage. It's a great game for all ages and VERY rewarding.
My one complaint about this game - and keep in mind that this is a HUGELY addictive game for me so I love it - is that it only lets you be a male. Why?? I would LOVE to be a girl on the farm who is dating boys. It can't be THAT hard to switch a few names and pixels. Why am I forced to be a boy? Why can't a girl run a farm?
That being said, it's a ton of fun and well suited for the GBA. Grab a copy - but be warned, you'll be playing it a lot!

My wait is finaly over! i have been waiting for Harvest Moon 64 to come out right when i beat Harvest Moon SNES. this is the greatest game ever created! You dont go around shooting things until their guts fly out thierears like in other games. You take the role of a rancher trying to make it.You can plant crops and raise livestock, and watch them grow from day today. The game goes though out the 4 seasons, and 30 days in each season. Each day is about 15 mins long, so you gotta hurry and get things done! Ifthings get a little boring on the ranch, you can set out and explore themountains. You also meet a lot of character rich people in the town, makefriends, and even get married! This game never gets boring because theresso much to do! Its the perfect game for fans of Anime, or RPGs. Or you cango back to playing your mindless kill everyone games. Thanks, and hope youenjoy the best game ever made!

Product Description:
When Harvest Moon debuted on the Super NES video game system in 1997, some gamers figured the role-playing farming game would be about as much fun as watching corn grow. To the skeptics' surprise, the game's atypical premise and surprisingly compelling gameplay sparked an impressive fan following, turning the game into a bona fide sleeper hit. Now virtual farmers can relive the fun of the original in Nintendo 64's version, updated with beautiful 3-D graphics and a larger, more in-depth game world.
As in the original, Grandpa bailed on the old, neglected farm, leaving the player with the daunting task of making a living off the land, finding a wife and living happily ever after. (Did we mention that it's a challenging game?) Players first clear land for crops, venture to town for seed, tools, and farm animals, and cozy up to the town's five eligible women in hopes of making a love connection.
Much more than a plant-and-wait style game, various side quests keep players busy while the crops grow. The village is a socially active place, so mini-games pop up in the form of annual events, such as horse and dog races. In the winter, one can mine precious minerals or tackle an odd job here and there to keep food on the table and wood in the stove. With such a big, detailed game, you'll be playing until the cows... well, you get the idea. --Eric Twelker

Innocent Life: A Future Harvest Moon Review

Innocent Life: A Future Harvest Moon
Average Reviews:

I love Harvest Moon games. In fact, I bought a PSP just so that I can play this game. IL has many new and fun aspects to it, but it feels like it was made for kids below 7. It's waaaay too easy. You'll propably finish most of the quests before the end of the second spring and then sit and twiddle your fingers in total boredom. You'll also have millions in your account but nothing to spend your money on.

The good side: New story idea - set in the future - exploration - strange fungi is a super idea - lots of stuff to gather - flexible menu system.
The bad side: I hated the useless dog and couldn't get rid of it - the animals were a pain so I got rid of them- the game's not challenging/ I mostly went to bed at 8:00 AM to skip the boring days - the stupid bell that rings five times a day and freezes your screen - getting items out of the storage box and seed box can be frustrating - mining is a pain, since your screen freezes for several seconds everytime you find something to give you a lengthy explanation (repeated hundreds of times!)

The bottom line is: It can be entertaining for a short time, but don't expect too much from it.

Rune Factory 2: A Fantasy Harvest Moon Review

Rune Factory 2: A Fantasy Harvest Moon
Average Reviews:

Rune Factory 2

I'm writing to review to compare this second Rune Factory to the first one.

Great:
The AI is much better than it was in RF1
The Bachlorettes have a much wider range of personalities, and better thought out events.
The bulletin board system is a great way to raise friendship points and make money.
You can play as a boy or a girl in generation two.
New weapons such as a wand for spellcasting.
No major glitches; I haven't noticed any weird bugs in the AI such as I did in RF1
The scenery is really well done; I love the island.
No easy money like in RF1; you actually have to do a little work at first.
The backpack and equipment system has been made far easier to use.

Good:
The graphics have improved somewhat.
Your attacks look far more realistic.
You can see your shield when fighting!
Less glitchy than R1
Did I mention how the characters are far better done? They are all so neat!
The controls are done very well; I found them much easier than the first game's.
You can steal brides away from their rival wedding if they love you!
The music is gorgeous and fits the dungeons well.
The odd monster generators are replaced with more realistic energy points, hinting at a connection to the First Forest and a natural appearance of the monsters.
The monster spawn points change when you reenter a room; e.g. you will see woolies one time and reenos another.
In the first game, if you married, your wife would never, ever move. In RF2 in generation one she will move around your house, and when you are a kid she will be walking around town again.
Graphics wise I have notices less clipping than in RF1, and also lots of nice little add ons: such as the falling cherry blossoms in spring, how when you hammer a rock little chips fly off...

Bad:
The rain sounds better, but still will get quieter one one side of your speakers/headphones (in RF1, it would cut out entirely).
There is also a spot or two where they used the wrong voice actor(esse)s.
I was one of the few who liked the English voices in RF1, but even I can't stand any of the voices in this version save for a few. But you do get used to them, thankfully.
There is lag when several sprites are on screen; such as if you have around 3-6 people on a screen, or in a barn full of buffamoos.

Terrible:
The typos. There are far more than there should be. I'm less than an hour into the game, running errands for people, and I've found three all ready. There are problems such as one character saying another's lines, or sometimes if you receive a potion you get a random dialogue. Many other typos were reported, but I haven't heard if these are in the Japanese or just the English.

Good or Bad:
When playing as Aria or Ars, you can "date" the twins (Serena & Sera/Suu & Muu, both girls) and have a fake marriage ceremony. You can do this with all of the children of opposite gender (save for the twins are avaliable for both), which is a little odd since everyone is around 7, but also just a lot like playing house and very comical.

You have rivals for all of the bachlorettes, save for three in generation one, so it makes the dating a bit more fun, and more realistic in that you don't have half a dozen single women like you did in RF1, but it also gives you a timeline that you have to marry them by.

Overall I think this game is a fine sequel! I think I won't be playing RF1 as much, since this one has so many improvements.

Harvest Moon A Wonderful Life Review

Harvest Moon A Wonderful Life
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
After looking at screenshots and the marvelous revious for the same game in the Gamecube I was thrilled that its company Marvelous Interactive released a PS2 version of it in Japan, hence it would be imported to the US.
Unfortunately due to some misclaculation from the programmers at some point the American version falls short of dazzling the players unlike its original Japanese PS2 counterpart.

The Cons:
1-The main character you play as moves too slow, hence the control buttons of some of his actions when tending to animals, giving presents to the other charcters, talking, harvesting, etc.
All the other characters move too slow, as in a slow motion sports replay. When he runs/walks he tends to slow down according to the terrain's surface and if he is going up or downhill; this adds realism but still way too slow.

2-Loading time takes from 5 to almost 15 full seconds everytime the characters enters or exits a building, or checks the contents of his backpack. Your TV goes blank and a tiny "now loading" message appears on the bottom right corner of the screeen. This is extremely annoying, as the Gamecube version (which I also own) does not work that way.

3-Save for the indoors scenery all outdoors environments look too grainy, colors are pale (adjusts your TVs) and without much datail on them. Again I must compare to the original PS2 version of Japan and the Gamecube where the graphics are gorgeous, and I must ask what happened?!

The Pros:
1-Aside from the farmwork the character must marry, raise a baby and make friends and archeological discoveries.A new bride character is available that wasn't so in the Gamecube. The ability to have a daughther instead of a boy too. One must visit the Sprites home and talk to the pot many many many times(keep pressing the X button) until he grants you a child of the sex you choose. New events include a number of scenes with the new would be wife and the child you'll have with her.

2-The main player character changes his clothes (is a color change; same outfit, but still a welcomed change) in accordance to the seasons (fall, winter, spring, summer), as well as his wife.

3-During the very first period of the game you're able to make better profits. The color of your horse can be white, a sandy beige or even a dark brown (almost black).

4-It's a life simulation rather than just a farming simulation. The main character you play as has the highs and lows of work and making friends and raising a child.Eventually all characters age, as your child grows, and makes a life of his/her own later on. Theres even a (warning spoiler ahead)

death scene, you die, but once your "life" is completed you can restart with all acquired goodies from the farm you have made.
For players of Save The Homeland, who don't have a Gamecube I do recommend this Harvest Moon game as it will be quite the gaming experience, and different from the Save the Homeland premise. One just have to get used to the grainy outdoors and slow loading.

Imagine Figure Skater Review

Imagine Figure Skater
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I am a teen skater myself and my grandmother saw an advertisement for this game and sent it to me.

It is all together a fun game so far. (I received it tonight) The jazzy/elevator music is slightly annoying, but not repetitious like some games. You can choose between 3 girls, they are all different in looks and the booklet gives their description(likes, dislikes, etc).

There is a School, My Room, Skating Rink, Skate Shop, and Training center that you can visit by using the map. At school, you can occasionally chat w/ friends and 2 guys who you're supposed to like. I haven't figured everything out, yet, so I don't nknow much about them.

Yes, you can change your character's hair and clothes. But, you have to go to the Skate Shop and buy things (like a flower for your hair or a new dress) with your allowance.

Every week you are given 2 goals to complete, I.E.: Raising Stamina 1 level and learning the Double Toe Loop at the Skating Rink.
The Skating Rink is a bit confusing at first. To skate, you must go to the man on the ice who is the owner. Then, he'll ask you if you want to practice the "Whatever you're learning". Don't worry about the training, your coach explains everything pretty well. Though, I think some of them talk too long. Luckily, you can skip on through with the A button so they don't spell out every single letter. lol
You are actually on the ice and it does look similar to how it is when I really skate. Th skating sound itself is inaccurate, similara mini lawnmower.
You can either complete or fail the move. It takes her a while to set up for the move, then, the little guide comes up over the touch screen where you guide your stylus over. Except, when she falls after failing the move, she giggles or says, "Oh!" in a happy sort of way that is totally odd because when you fall on your *butt* backwards at the speed she's going, it hurts! Another thing, the coach won't let you leave until you get it right. Yea, you have to turn it off to leave if you don't feel like doing it. LOL

There are a few mini games that you can do at the training center. It depends on what you need to do, like raising stamina 1 level, to acccess a game a certain game. I know there are at least 4 and they are creative, but feeding your girl sushi to gain stamina is weird.

Well, to wrap this up, this game is pretty good in the fun area, (4 Stars) but in the realistic area to me, only 3 stars over all because the jumps and spins are named inaccurately gives a little kid who's never skated the wrong impression. Now, I think any girl over 7-8 would absolutely love this game, as my sisters and I have.

Harvest Moon Another Wonderful Life Review

Harvest Moon Another Wonderful Life
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This is such a fun game for girls! You start out in the farm all alone. The whole 1st chapter you try to get one of the 3 bachelors to like you by giving them presents and talking to them. In the second chapter you get married to the guy who likes you the most. Here are your choices:
Rock: 22 in the beginning. A young dude who has no life virtues. He cares only for his looks and having fun. Rock is the easiest to marry, but trust me, don't!
Gustafa: 28. A smooth, happy musical guy. He's sort of a hippie. I would suggest him over Rock.
Marlin: 33. I married him and I suggest you would too! In the game he compliments my child and teaches him life-lessons. Marry him!

Whoever you marry you'll have a child. Depending on whom you marry is how he'll act and look. When they're babies they are SO cute! Then in the next chapter they're toddlers, then children, then a teenager! Love him buy giving him things he likes and talking to him often.

Back to you: You spend your 24 minute days by taking care of your *adorable* cows and chickens and goats or sheep. Taking care refers to:
1. Feeding them
2. Talking and petting them daily
3. If cows or goats; milking them

Your chickens and roosters are easier to care for. Just take their eggs and feed them! LOL

You also have an adorable dog you get in the beginning. You can if you want feed him but you don't have to.

Another thing you do during the day is taking care of plants! Plant them and water them. Typical. You can plant anything from potatoes to strawberries. You buy the seeds from another farm in town. Once the plants are grown you can give them away to people in the village, cook with them, sell them or just eat them plain. Yum.

Money: You make money but selling crops, fruits, milk, sheep fur, cheese, butter, rocks and gems found in the digsite, flowers found around the town and mushrooms also found around the town. Twice a month (Harvest moon months witch takes about 1 or 2 hours) a fat rich man named Van (what a wonderful name) comes to town and sells and buys with you. You can sell pretty much anything to him and buy furniture and clothes and whatnot from him.

What to spend your $ on: livestock and buildings them mostly. You can buy clothes and medicines from Van too. Money luckily isn't something you NEED witch I think is great. It's just nice to have.

Pros:
You don't NEED money
You live in a cute, peaceful town with a beach, houses, streams and ponds called Forget-Me-Not Valley
Really nice townspeople who each have different personalities
Pretty good graphics. Beautiful scenery.
The game doesn't take too long and doesn't end too quickly (I've been playing for more than 1 year)
I love the animals! Who would've known how fun it is to farm!
Great storyboard that doesn't get old.
You have a family! It's so much fun to be a mom and wife. ^^

Cons:
Here and there there are small typos (witch really doesn't matter at all)
ummm...... I think that's it!

Ending/Overall/Recap: You start on your own on your fathers farm, you get married have a kid, be a great mom, have fun farming, be friends with other people, fish, cook, and ride your hoarse! Yay that is so much fun =) Throughout the game there are happy suprises. This game is for anyone who is interested in life simulations. Because this is way better than sims+ animal crossing any other life simulation!
RATING: 100%* * * * * five stars most definitely =) plus five more * * * * * buy this game! Yep yep yep good game ^^
