XCM Cross Battle adapter plus RUMBLE Review

First of all, I loathe the dualshock design and have ever since it was tacked on to the original playstation controllers.I also have hand/arm "issues" (medical in nature) that make gaming on the PS3 uncomfortable to be polite.

This product is easy to use.Turn on your PS3, plug this device into the PS3, plug a wired 360 controller into the device and you're ready to go.It's that simple. If you love the 360 design, this is a wonderful thing.

There are a few drawbacks, however.

One is that you actually need the wired 360 controller.

Another is that while in use the green LEDs (that signal what player you are) all flash while in use.

Also, there is no motion sensing for any game that may require it (I recommend the Nyko Zero to solve this).

Next, this adapter will not work with PS2 games played on the PS3 (if you have a BC model of PS3).

Finally, this item would have really benefited from a way to assign controller functions. As is, you are still forced to use the bumpers for firing in some games such as first person shooters.I see this as a design flaw in the dualshock 3 design where even devlopers have tried to accomodate for the less-than-adequate, and slippage-prone L2/R2 "trigger."Unfortunately, the Cross Battle adapter cannot compensate for this unless the options are available in-game.

Mega Man Anniversary Collection Review

Mega Man Anniversary Collection
Average Reviews:

NOTE - I have not played much of the PS2 version of "Mega Man Anniversary Collection", but I have noticed the controller is much easier to use than the GameCube's.If you're interested in this title, the technical aspects of both versions should be identical.

REVIEW
Just how much fun is it to play that old-school, side-scrolling, blue bomber anyway? These games have not lost their touch at all. Both gamers who suffer from incurable nostalgia (like me) and those of the next-gen consoles (like most of today's generation) can enjoy this compilation.

The basic premise for this series is that as Mega Man, you will complete from 4-to-8 stages (depending on the game), each with plenty of side-scrolling shooting your way through robot enemies and jumping exercises, and each ending with a Boss battle. You must choose wisely, though, because although you can finish them in any order, certain bosses' weapons have a distinct advantage over another. After defeating these foes, Dr. Wily awaits Mega Man at his castle, which will require every weapon you've just gained to progress. It is this freedom-of-choice that gives the "Mega Man" franchise such a proud place in gaming history.

What Capcom did right with this series is not incorporate too many new features that weren't already in the games. For example, you won't be able to Slide until the 3rd game, nor will you charge up your Mega Buster until the 4th game. These games are properly ported form their original versions.
Sure, there are a few touches here and there. There isn't as much framerate slowdown as before, a useless map is now added to the PAUSE Menu, and the timeline references ("20XX") match today's timeline ("2004").The best addition is a SAVE feature, that allows you to avoid those annoying Passwords, and just jump right where you left off. You'll lose you acquired Lives and E-Tanks, but the level-and-weapon status remains intact.

Many consider the first 3 games to be the classic titles.
The first "Mega Man" is still the hardest of them all.The enemies are unrelenting, and I've read that there used to be a Boss glitch that Capcom removed, forcing you to use your skills even more.Although basic in concept, the challenge is very unforgiving in some levels. This game is hard.

"Mega Man 2" is my favorite of them all, because the music is catchy as hell, plus the bosses and levels are expertly designed. For those who've played this game before, the fourth Dr. Wily boss is still a pain-in-the-ass though.

"Mega Man 3" is by far the longest in the series, as you'll battle 8 original bosses, then the 8 from "Mega Man 2", then tackle Dr. Wily's 6 stages of combat. This entry is also a little tough, because you're gonna have to be extra-smart to make it through this one.

Most fans consider the next three games ("Mega Man" 4,5,6) to be the money-making sequels.Back in the day, I would agree, but since the price of this disc is less than these 3 titles combined at original price, I won't complain. Also, they're so much fun that how can you resist the technical improvements.

The 4th game is when the powers and upgrades become more plentiful.Eight more levels await, and this time there are actually 2 castles to shoot your way through. This one holds a special place in my heart, as it was the first one I ever beat.

"Mega Man 5" and "Mega Man 6" share many similiarities. Both games start off with 8 robot bosses, then reveal the supposed enemy's castle of 4 stages, only to expose that Dr. Wily was behind it all, and give us a few more stages to battle through. The stories are a joke, but who's reading anyway. But neither of these games are bad at all, and proudly earn their spots in the classic NES sextilogy.

"Mega Man 7" was the SNES game that reinvigorated the franchise for many fans.Better graphics and sound quality, not to mention some unique bosses, gave this series some more life.To be honest, I think this game runs a little slower than my taste, as the NES games are much more faster-paced.Still, a worthy entry,

The 8th game was released on the PS-one, and to be honest, I haven't beaten it yet because the stages are truly mind-boggling in puzzles and challenging with their platforming sections.I'm having a great time with it, though, and eagerly await the concluding obstacles...

There are even two bonus fighting games that aren't too bad. They're both themed after the 8 previous games, and allow Mega Man, his brother Proto Man, and newfound ally Bass, to face off in classic Capcom 2D fighting.Think "Street Fighter" with "Mega Man" weapons.

Included on this disc are some bogus extra features that I could do without, but that's not why you buy collections like this."Mega Man Anniversary Collection" is all about the evolution of gaming. The action of these titles was deceptively simple, and I have no problem recommending this disc to anybody. My minor quibble with this game is that the GameCube controller's D-Pad is too damn small, but that's a problem I can overlook.I'm recommending people buy this collection of titles because they are all about gaming. You won't find "Metal Gear Solid"-like complicated stories, or "Final Fantasy"-like levelling up, or "Resident Evil"-like puzzles. All of those are great titles, but "Mega Man" is much simpler. All you need are two hands, keen eyes, and a hunger to execute these commands..."Run---Jump---Shoot".Can you do that?Good, now stop reading my review and buy this already!

UFC Undisputed 2010 Review

UFC Undisputed 2010

UFC 2010 for ps3 has potential to be the greatest MMA game ever. The only reason I say it is not the greatest game yet is because there are several bugs.It is very hard to get a fight online and the career mode has some problems, including your stats decaying too quickly, fatigue not really playing as much of a factor as it should be, and opponents getting too tough too quickly. Some of the ufc fighters also need a little tweaking but as soon as the developers get a patch update out there, and I am confident they will, this will be the best MMA game ever. Despite these current problems, I also want to address its successes. The graphics are UNBELIEVABLE, every fighter looks completely real. And the realism doesn't stop there, every fighter in the game has fighting styles and abilities that are just like the real fighters. There are also all kinds of new features like the ability to make and play your own pay per view which is so fun if get some friends to play through it and the other gameplay modes that ensure you will never get bored of this game.So all in all, I would highly recommend this game if your a fan of the UFC although would recomend you wait until they get a solid patch update out there so you can enjoy it to its fullest.

Assassins Creed II Review

Assassins Creed II
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Assassins Creed 2 - Circa 2009

GOOD:
- A good story mixes elements of historical fiction and a Sci-Fi epic.
- Really impressive graphics and first-rate animations, that looks just as good as games like Uncharted 2 on PS3 and Gears of War 2 on 360.
- The game world is even bigger then the last one (it really rivals games like Fallout 3) also IF taking a horse across the land still takes too long some times don't worry there are warp points now as well.
- In the first Assassin's Creed there was about 5 different mission types (chase someone, pickpocket someone, save someone from getting beat up, spy on targets, and then stealth kill, ect) in Assassin's Creed 2 there is like 15 different mission types now from all out battles, trailing a targets, beating up unfaithful husbands and lots of different types of stealth killing also all the old types in Assassins Creed 1 are here as well.
- You have a better opportunity to be a more cunning assassin now due to newer weapons, techniques, and skills.
- You can now swim, no more letting water be your foe heck you can even drive gondolas if you wanted.
- like the first title this one has great sound track too that mixes music of the era during the clam points of the game and more modern type of music during the chase points of the game.BAD:
- Some small problems from the first are still there - although they are a lot more minor now like some times roof top running (parkour) can be a tad sloppy in a tense situations and you'll get killed (small camera problems). (I didn't really see this in my play through but some people have told me it happens so I am letting you know here)
- Losing that cool sword: you have the ability to disarm enemies and kill them with their own weapons now (this never gets old) - BUT - you also drop you own original sword in the process making you having to dig among the bodies to find it again and hope it's not lost. ::UPDATE:: I put this wrong it seems, you never lose your weapons when doing a disarm attack (it yes it never gets old); you only seem to lose your weapon when a stronger enemy (usually a knight in a suit of armor) knocks it outta your hand, and this is still a bit rare. Then you would have to find your weapon though or pick up a new one later.
- Too much Money? When you first start the game money is a bit hard to come by and weapons/armor are pretty expensive, while this can be a bit frustrating at first it builds gameplay and gives you goals outside of the missions to work towards. Now after you play for few hours and missions give you better pay and you fully upgrade your villa/town (this will automatically give you tons of free money; sorta like owning property in Fable 2 or GTA: Vice City) money becomes a non issue. Then getting paid at the end of missions seems pointless as well as doing Templar Secret location missions, which while fun, the entire point is to find a treasure room for yet more now pointless money. Anyways a few hours into the game and the in-game economy is broken to the point were you feel they should have done like Assassins Creed 1 and never had in-game money and just give you all your weapons/items based on mission progress.IF IT FITS YOUR TASTE:
- A Stealth/action game set during the late 15th century and early 16th Italian Renaissance. You play as a man who becomes an Assassin in order to carry out revenge of his family.
- You spend more time in the Animus and less time as Desmond over all.
- The control is broken down mainly into two areas of gameplay there is a passive action and an aggressive action to almost everything you can do in the game. For example you can lightly tap people to move out of your way while walking down crowed the street (hold the B button to do this) or shove people as you run down that same street (hold the R button and the B button to do this). This duality applies to all your actions and it becomes necessary because during the game you must be able to move freely between these two states (passive and aggressive) to run and then hide from people the out to get you as well as to sneak up on and kill your victims.
- You can now hire help like as body guards to protect with you might or street-walkers to use their bodies to distract armed guards.
- Lot of what you will be doing is climbing and jumping from buildings this plays similar to the Prince of Persia games also made by ubisoft (the sands of time series). Although in this game the controls are more streamlined and user friendly as you can climb way more effectively as well as more realistically (even more then the first game).
- In the first game most of the gameplay is not so much assassinating people but gathering Intel on your targets. This game retains some of that but expands on the concept so much you'll never think you're doing busy work (like the first) and you have a lot more big kill targets as well.
- Combat has been refined by adding things like hammers, clubs, smoke bombs, and the hidden (now dual) assassin blades of course, plus you can steal enemies' weapons and use it against them too. The combat has a bit more over all intelligent flow from the first game, although it builds on that idea.
- Mix up you clothing colors by buy buying dyes for you outfit (in colors like red, green, and black) as well as unlocking new capes for your character. Also buy things like health potions, poisons, new weapons, new armor, and even treasure maps and famous paintings for your villa.
- You even get a villa (which is basically works like a small personal town) which you can upgrade by renting out space to local store owners and then getting goods (the main house seems to be the only place you can swap weapons and armor apparently).

GAME ITS MOST ASSOCATED TOO:
- Assassins Creed (360/PS3/PC)
- Grand Theft Auto 4 (360/PS3)
- HitMan: Blood Money (360)
- Prince of Persia (Xbox/PS2)
- Metal Gear Solid 4 (PS3)

ADDITIONAL NOTES:
- Ezio the star of Assassins Creed 2 is related to Alta?r of the first game and Desmond is related to both of them
- Assassin's Creed: Lineage, a small set of mini movies (with real actors and CG effects) telling the story leading up to Assassins Creed 2 about Ezio's father (who was also an Assassin). These movies are made by Ubisoft and are found on the internet for free - so go see them.
- Assassin's Creed: Bloodlines (starting Alta?r of the first game) is a PSP game with Connectivity with the PS3 version of this game that can unlock six exclusive and unique weapons in Assassins Creed 2.
- The game skips chapters 12 and 13 - These chapters come in as two downloads for this game. One called The Battle of Forl
