(More customer reviews)My friend brought this item over yesterday and we spent HOURS playing the various games, multiplayer modes and playroom features.I'm 26 and he's 32 so right off the bat, you know it truly is fun for all ages.
First off, there really is no controler needed. Nada. Don't even bother plugging it in. Everything is handled on-screen via buttons you control by "touching" them.
Secondly, make sure you have a good light. We found that an overhead ceiling fan light worked better then a standing lamp.
Then, load up a game and be silly. Really, it's as easy as that.
The games are a good mix. The collective favorites were "Kung Foo" (where you have to bash the ninjas and evil monkies who are bent on your destruction. A GREAT way to be silly, make goofy kung-foo moves and kick their butts. Very satisfying.), the fireworks one (wow...pretty...and what a neat feeling of actually interfacing and controling something. it feels like half conducting something and half computer interface a la "minority report") and the window washer (here's a trick: jump up and down to use your body to help wash the windows!) where, as someone else said, you really DO work up a sweat. (It's the longest two minutes of your life!)
All the games though are fun and pretty diverse, though not all of the twelve are quite as replayable or enjoyable, it's a well-rounded collection.
This product and it's mini-games are like a cross between DDR and Para-Para. ;) It will definately appeal to those who enjoy that type of game and makes and EXCELLENT party game. (Especially when you get a new high score and you get your pic taken for your victory pose)
Some of the other things are neat too. You can record video clips and save them on the memory card (full motion complete with sound, although the built-in mic is pretty crappy). You can also just have the camera on with your choice of special effect for the times you want to just goof off but not actually play anything.
Kids will love it and you can even get your mom to join in. It's really utterly simple and there's no actual skill required. Just be careful you don't end up playing so long you're arms get sore the next day like we did!

Madagascar Operation Penguin Review

(More customer reviews)The penguins were by far my favourite characters in the movie, so I was ecstatic when I found this game dedicated specifically to them. It came in handy when I got laryngitis and had to stay home from work. The penguins are as quirky and adorable as ever! While I was able to complete the entire game in half a day, it was fun to play, and I was certainly not disappointed. The graphics are very nice, and I did not encounter any design flaws. I also had a lot of experience playing Mario games during childhood, so it would probably take young children longer.

The structure of the game is great for kids because the skills are taught and built up sequentially. There is no frustration learning a lot of new actions all at the beginning because they are clearly introduced one at a time on the earlier levels. The movie storyline is also well incorporated. For those who find completing the stages too simple, there is the added complexity of thoroughly searching each environment to collect all the medals.

Overall, this is a well put together game for anyone who just wants some low key entertainment. It is not overly challenging, so I would not recommend this for a hard core gamer. I was also disappointed that collecting all 1000 medals did not unlock any bonus stages, but it was still fun to have a little journey as a Madagascar penguin.

The Incredible Hulk Review

(More customer reviews)While not perfect by any means, this GBA adaption of the The Incredible Hulk sucessfully captures the feel of the comic, and is better than it's home console bretheren.Played on an isometric point of view, you control The Hulk through 33 huge levels while walloping on the military and an array of tanks, missles, and other baddies.As you progress, you gain new abilities and attack combinations; meaning that you must play through the game aggressively to succeed.Also, many puzzle elements are involved, and while some are typical (a la flip to switch to keep going), it adds a more intelligent depth to the game instead of just bashing everything in sight.Boss battles are difficult as well, requiring you to strategize your attacks; all of this makes The Hulk much better than expected.Although the fighting elements can wear thin, there is still a bit of replay value to be had here with link cable abilities that add to the fun.The graphics are nicely rendered (and are almost reminiscent of the Hulk game released for 16 bit systems years ago), but don't push the system to it's limits.All in all, The Hulk is one of the better comic licensed games to be released for the GBA, which, along with the earlier released Iron Man, is better than Daredevil and X-Men: Reign of Apocalypse.Also recommended is Activision's Spider-Man games for the GBA which are nothing short of great.

Jak X Combat Racing Review

(More customer reviews)This game was really surprisingly good. I must admit ,at first I thought this game wouldn't be really good, but it really exceeded my expectations. The game begins when jak , daxter and their friends are invited for the reading of Krew's will. (Krew was the big fat guy from jak 2 .)When they get there, they meet his daughter, Rayn. she pours everyone some drinks , so they'll have a toast for krew. After they all finish drinking, Rayn plays Kre's will. He appears as a hologram , and he informs everyone that the drinks they just had have been poisoned!(He even poisoned his own daughter). He says that his associates will give them the antidote only if they win the Kras city championship race (since it was his dream to win this championship), so jak and his friends are forced to race for him.

Now , through the entire game , you don't just drive one car. There are 12 cars you can drive , and you can fully customize them , and replace their body parts. You can change their front fenders, rear fenders , trunks , wheels , and more. You can earn more body parts by winning races. You can even change the color of your car, and tune it's performance.

One good addition to the game is the expanded secrets menu. You can get tons of secrets(by buying them with money you get from winning races),such as extra accesories for your car , extra movies, extra characters to drive with , etc. It's all just real awesome.

There are three modes you can play , multiplayer (which includes online and local modes),adventure, in which you play as jak and advance through the storyline , and exhibition , where you can shoose different characters to play with(all of which have different attributes and characteristics) , and you can race in any track and in any type of race for money.

The jak series has always been known for their variety. And this aspect returns here too. The game has normal races , where you have to just finish a number of laps around the track , but there are also tons of other game modes , like death match , where you just have to destroy the other racers,sport hunt , where you have to kill a bunch of monsters , death race, where you have to shoot as many cars as you can(not real racers, but weak smaller cars) and many , many more.

Now , about the pick-ups. There are 4 types of pick-ups here. One is health , which simply heals you car. The other is turbo , which let's you use a turbo boost . The third is a weapon power up which lets you use forward - facing weapons , such as machine guns , missiles , etc. And the last one is backward - facing weapons , such as mines , oil streeks , etc.

This game is a really awesome game. Don't worry about the fact it's a racing game.

Kirby and The Amazing Mirror Review

(More customer reviews)I just got this game, and it is so awesome. I'm 17 years old, and I've been an on and off admirer of him. Now that multiplayer compatibility is available for most of the games coming out for GBA, Kirby knew that the only way to stay alive was to make a 4-player adventure. Bingo.

I've only played the game a couple times, and the multiplayer is probably the only reason I'd like it even more. You've got 3 other Kirby's bouncing around the levels. Even if you don't call them up, they're bound to be in another level in the game, and you can find them yourself and join them!

If you love Kirby, you'll love this (no brainer). If you're interested in Kirby, this would be a great game to start off with. If you hate him, you should at least rent it. Hey, it couldn't hurt.

If you beat the first Kirby game in one day, then you MIGHT not have as much fun with this one. I've beaten a few levels, and I'm 7% complete. I have no idea how many more levels there are or anything, but all I'm saying is don't waste your money on something knowing you'll beat it in a day, or a weekend, unless you are just radical about beating games over and over again.

Overall, this is a great game to add to your GBA collection.

The game takes place in Kanto and is like the other four, but seven new islands called the Rainbow Islands, have been added so you can collect them all. Plus, this game has all the pokemon, but you have to trade to get them all. I have played it in both english and Japenese ( people have translated it) and it is a quite decent game. Plus you can get National Dex so all 386 pokemon can be displayed once you have 60 pokemon and challenge theElite Four twice with more powers and techniques the seond time. Its a lot of fun and it has the best graphics ever and it talks and has chat!!! I cant wait till September 9th!!! Im buying mine now and its gonna be great!!!! Trust Me!!! I have played it!!!

Pokemon FireRed W/ Wireless Adapter Review

(More customer reviews)I have imported Pokemon FireRed from Japan and played through the Elite Four and a majority of the Island areas. It seems as though everything they've done wrong in the past, they've done right this time. Even some aspects that you never knew were lacking have been enhanced. Best of all, you will finally be able to get every last Pokemon (aside from Mew, Celebi, and Deoxys) if you've got access to Ruby/Sapphire, Colosseum, and FireRed/LeafGreen. The revamped Red/Blue from yesteryear will bring back a lot of old memories with the nearly identical storyline, but once you complete the main story, a whole new set of sub-stories begin. There will be enhanced e-Reader support and enhanced trading via the wireless adapter. If you get close to someone who's playing in the Union room, their character will show up in your Union Room, even if you can't see them. They could be in a nearby car or at another table at the same restaurant. As long as you stay close enough, you can trade with someone without ever even knowing who it was :)
Definitely get this when it comes out if you are even remotely interested in Pokemon. This truly is the best edition yet!
