Stonekeep Review

Stonekeep is an excellent RPG.Not many people have heard of this game, and I don't know why.The graphics are top notch (for a game designed during the time the game was released). The storyline is very well written. The magic system is done well. The combat system is not unique but done WELL!The ability to have other (computer controlled) charters to fight next to you is a nice feature. The puzzles make you think! The overall atmosphere draws you into the game.
The only flaws are the game is to short. In theory you can finish the game in a day.No replay ability (one ending). You might want to go back and look for hidden magic weapons you missed before, though. And you have to work a little to make it run on newer systems.
In the end this should be the standard as far on how a RPG should be made. You simply have to play this game!

Pro-Pinball: Big Race USA Review

I received this pinball game from my brother and sister in law (Hi Mark and Jackie) for Xmas 1999, after having a fantastic time with hours of fun on it's predecessor, Timeshock. Both are outstanding games! While mostpinball games try to do too much (eg. multiple tables) poorly, this gametries to do one thing very well... on well oiled, awesomely realistic andutterly challenging game table that is fun, and full of new finds. A tenball multiplay challenge, video game intergrated, and loads of lights andbumpers, combined with totally green-light graphics and sounds (sorealistic, you can even hear the ball hit the glass if you smack it justright, like the real thing!), I give it 5 stars for playablility and funfactor. Full customizable play table, key controls (does not use a mouse orjoystick, only keyboard). It and its predecessor equal, Timeshock, are thetwo best software games I have ever owned.Have a great 2000!

Carmageddon 2: Carpocalypse Now Review

Carmageddon 2: Carpocalypse Now

I know that I have been guilty, on occasion, of poor driving etiquette, haven't we all?CARMAGEDDON 2 is a primer in the fine art of road rage.Think of it as cathartic, do what you will within this fine, gory game. Your desires to do the same on the roadways of reality MUST, of neccessity, remain unfulfilled.
Similar to the original CARMAGEDDON except withbetter graphics, the victims are polygonal models instead of sprites, there's tons more carnage to be wrested from the CARMAGEDDON universe thistime around.
Most of the cast of regular drivers are back, with a fewnew crazies to round out the crew.Vehicle upgrades are made whilst on thefly, instead of thru a separate menu as in the original. The cars Eagle& Hawk have returned along with a bevy of new killers.Look for theVolvo mining loader, a humongous yellow truck used to haul boulders. There's even a WWII Stuka dive bomber piloted/driven by looney Heinz Faustfrom the first game.
Many scenarios are included:A Disney-esquefunfair, replete with clowns, circus strongmen and elephants.A modernairport;bonus points if you can manage to wreck the jumbo jet...the trickseems to be jumping your vehicle upon the wing during takeoff.
One minorbeef, there's no onscreen camera shot of the driver's glee as in the firstgame.I really missed seeing Die Anna squeal with joy each time shesquashed a victim. Her sick peals of rapture in the first CARMAGEDDON arevery remniscent of Xenia Onatopp from the Bond film, Goldeneye. This aside,CARMAGEDDON 2 is a worthy sequel and a hell of a lot of fun for my [$]. I can't wait for the third installment!

Fallout Collection Review

Fallout Collection
Average Reviews:

As to the games: It's Fallout. By this point, one shouldn't need a review of the games. They're amongst the best games of all time (Tactics excluded), and no recommendation can be high enough. They just don't make 'em like this anymore.

However! Something has to be said about the reliability of the games. First: you likely will need to crack Fallout Tactics. For whatever reason, in Vista, the game does not recognize the CD as being a game CD. Thankfully, gamecopyworld.com is still a bountiful resource for safe No-CD cracks.

Also, from what I've heard of friends' experiences with this collection, some of the bugs that Fallout and Fallout 2 experience on WinXP are serious enough to ruin the game experience. For what it's worth, Vista has had no game-breaking issues with any of the collection so far.

There are, however, odd graphical glitches (the game screen has a tendency to suddenly go black; saving when this happens clears up the issue), and certain still-unresolved gameplay bugs that amount to minor annoyance.

Greater on the annoyance scale is that the games *still* bother you to register them despite both Interplay and Black Isle no longer existing, and the publisher of this collection, GSP, seems to have their own agenda trying to push a "register and get a free game" thing. Once again, individually small issues that add to the larger annoyance factor.

Bottom Line: It's Fallout. Play it. Sure, there are some annoying technical issues, but lets be realistic. It's Fallout.
