Turbo Subs Review

Turbo Subs
Average Reviews:

I just installed this game yesterday, and it's a whole lot of fun to play. This is a basic time management game, like Cake Mania or Diner Dash, which are also a lot of fun.

The goal of this game is to prepare orders for diners quickly in order to get enough tips to upgrade your restaurant (and get through the level) so that you can make more $$ for more upgrades. You play Rebecca, and you work with your brother Robert, who makes the subs.Customers come in and order various subs, drinks, chips, desserts, coffee, etc, and you have to manage your time in providing them with their order.Certain things take longer to prepare, and you have to be able to do more than one thing at once so that the customer doesn't leave in a huff. It's also important to collect your tips quickly, partially so you can wait on more customers, but also because thieves show up and will steal your hard earned $$ if you aren't fast enough.

I also have Turbo Pizza, Cake Mania, and Diner Dash, which are also fun. This game is very similar to those, but it has the thief character, which those others don't have. Also, while you can use your $$ to buy upgrades, certain levels come with free upgrades, which of course mean more work. There are also a few search-and-find mini games that can earn you more $$ for upgrades.

This game is a lot of fun and I highly recommend it for people who like time management style games.

Cake Mania 3 JC Review

Cake Mania 3 JC
Average Reviews:

This is a fun variation of cake mania. You get to select one of like 5 or 6 different locations to go to. If you choose the wrong one first it can be difficult. (China or Cave) New customer types- some are very amusing and some can be annoying. (witches that turn your customers into monkeys and change their orders if they get impatient.) (About half of the places have a customer with this ability.) Overall it's not too difficult if you strategize and use your powerups wisely. Fun if you enjoy time management games. It's different than the others in the series, so you don't feel like you've been there done that right away like some games.

Cooking Dash Review

Cooking Dash
Average Reviews:

Cooking Dash, the latest iteration in the Diner Dash series, is so much fun!I own the four main Diner Dash games and love them, so I figured I'd give this one a try -- and I wasn't disappointed.Cooking Dash has enough of a plot and unique setup to be a totally stand-alone game, so people who have never played the other Diner Dash games should be fine. You play the main character, Flo, who must use her amazing waitressing (and now cooking) skills to save restaurants from failure.

The best way I can describe Cooking Dash is that it's a blend of regular Diner Dash plus another similar game called Cake Mania (but instead of making cakes, you cook the customers' food). As such, the most notable difference between Cooking Dash and the previous DD games is the setup: the main "stage" is a huge kitchen, rather than a huge seating area. The actual game play is similar -- you must be conscientious in seating the customers, get their food to them quickly, and clean up when they leave.Basically, you perform a series of "strategic" mouse clicks to achieve your goal.As in the other Diner Dash games, there are 50 levels (five restaurants with 10 levels each), and you can score bonuses by performing a "chain" of actions, like giving checks to five customers in a row.

The customers in Cooking Dash are, for the most part, the same as those in the DD series. You see the regulars -- girls, business women, seniors, bookworms, cell phone yappers -- but also some new faces: body builders, hippies, yoga instructors, and students with headphones. Each customer has particular time constraints and idiosyncrasies that Flo must manage. For instance, the cell phone yappers and the hippies tend to make noise, and this bothers the other customers, especially the bookworms and yoga instructors. However, the students with headphones don't mind noise, so you can seat them next to the hippies and the yappers.

As a reward for achieving your goal, you get to purchase upgrades with the money (points) you've earned. You can upgrade the kitchen equipment, the restaurant d

This game was pretty fun. It didnt take me only about 3-4 days to get thru all the levels tho. It would get quite monotonous.Seemed like they should have had more different types of customers.

Cake Mania 2 Review

Cake Mania 2
Average Reviews:

After mastering Cake Mania, I of course bought No. 2. There are lots of new characters, graphics, etc. but the strategy remains the same. This game differs from the first in that the location of the ovens, topping machines, and icing machines switch locations at every level. Also, the types of cakes baked are not the same on all 3 machines whichmakes the baking process a bit more difficult. The first few levels (or "worlds" - you'll see when you play the game) are relatively easy. However, my experience is that the levels go from this level to straight-up impossible (or very difficult). I guess this is a good thing for Cake Mania addicts as this challenge keeps the game fresh. I tried to find No. 2 for DS and apparently, as of right now (2008), Cake Mania will not be coming to DS (at least not this year). :(

Diner Dash 5 Review

Diner Dash 5
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Diner Dash 5 - BOOM! This is another super fun installment of the games with Flo.I've been playing this version of DD during my lunch hour at work for the past 3 weeks and I still look forward to playing it every day.I consider myself pretty skilled in the Diner Dash games and it's very rare I am able to score an expert level on DD 5, except on the first set.

This version is a little different than the previous and in some ways similar to Wedding Dash in that you earn cash to spend and at the beginning of a new level you choose the items you think will help you out - for instance the use of Quinn to refill the salad bar - she is $20,000 and only good for that level though, the extra speedy cook, faster sneakers for Flo to wear, faster ordering from the menu, etc.

In between some of the levels, the characters also talk - even Mr. Big - you can skip these if you want - which I most definitely do after I've heard them speak!Hal, one of the Hungry Men construction workers from the Hometown Hero game, builds the diner up between levels and you can choose the color schemes and what you want him to build. He also comes in handy during some of the levels in that the generators start conking out and you need him to fix them before you plunge into total darkness!

A new bunch of characters added to this one is the clowns - I always cringe when I see them - I don't know the reason, but I've always been freaked out by clowns - plus you have to keep them in check as they are always tossing their balls into the air and mesmerizing the other customers sitting near them....another bunch of new characters are the lawyers - and you can't seat the lawyers close to one another as they start arguing - now THAT is funny! You also have some of the same characters as previously, the businesswomen, the cell phone talkers (they drive me nuts with the cell phones constantly ringing on this version) and the senior citizen men.

I wholeheartedly recommend this latest version of Diner Dash, but if you are new to Diner Dash, please start out with the earlier versions as this latest game may be a little too complicated to start with.

Diner Dash Snack Pack is a blast.Flo and company are back again, only this time with a seasonal theme. There is a water park, a scary crypt cafe for Halloween, a ski resort for winter, a pumpkin farm for fall, etc. There are new customers with new challenges and of course, there are bonus challenges once each restraurant has been completed.Flo also is sporting a new wardrobe that goes along with the themes of the restaurants, with a variety of clothing to choose from and many different colors.Upgrades are also available in the way of scenery and also within the restaurant.I love this game and played through the first two restaurants the first day I opened the box. This game is indeed addictive, but it is also fun and well worth the money.
