I bought this for the old Tank game which I played for hour when I was in College over twenty years ago.It has a great collection of old video arcade game. My favorite is the tank game (battle zone) which is the game I play the most - The games work well with a Logitech USB game controller I bought.

Atari Arcade Hits #1 (Jewel Case) Review

Atari Arcade Hits #1
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
If, after you sink into these 6 classic Atari arcade games, you start to smell pizza or hear other voices, don't panic. It's just your mind bringing back memories of when you first played them. THAT'S how good these recreations are.
Compared to today's 3D arcade first-person shooters, these games might seem primitive but they can claim something that modern games can't: anyone and everyone played them. The controls were simple, usually consisting of a single knob or joystick and a couple buttons. You dropped in a quarter and you played.
When you went to the bowling alley or pizza parlor, you saw senior citizens standing shoulder to shoulder with teens at the PONG game. A father and daughter might be huddled in front of Tempest. A child barely tall enough to reach the trackball and buttons on Missile Command has already finished 12 levels. A grandmother has just been introduced to Asteroids and now, there's no tearing her away. A small crowd is gathering around the Super Breakout game because someone has just cleared a third wall of bricks on the first ball. And a weekend lawn warrior is exacting revenge on his leaf-munching adversaries in Centipede.
Those games live again, as does a feeling for what it was like to have lived back then, in Atari Arcade Hits. In addition to the exact recreations of 6 of Atari's landmark arcade games, the CD ROM includes a wealth of extra material including photos, promotional materials and over a half hour of Atari founder Nolan Bushnell reminiscing about the times. That segment was actually taped at the former Andy Capp's Saloon where the world was introduced to the first coin-operated PONG.
NOTE: Games requiring a knob or "paddle" controller are best played with a good quality trackball like the Logitech Marble Mouse Trackball, which I've reviewed elsewhere on Amazon.com

Midway Arcade Treasures Review

Midway Arcade Treasures
Average Reviews:

My youth has returned!
Many of the games I had to stand in line at the arcade to play and then was slaughtered by in 60 seconds flat are contained on this 20+ game compilation of old arcade hits (and misses): Robotorn 2084, Rampage, Joust (1 & 2), Defender (1 & 2), Smash TV...just great stuff abounds. Of course, there are some clunkers, but hey: it was the 80s.
The translations here are frighteningly faithful: the graphics, sound and general play of the controls is dead-on (except for maybe "Marble Madness", but if you have a ball controller instead of buttons and joysticks, you're back in action). There was some element of culture shock once I got started playing these on the PS2 (it boggles the mind how few buttons you need to play any of these games as opposed to the thumb-wracking madness of today's offerings), and the game overall feels like a big cheat code since you don't have to stop playing just because you ran out of quarters. Just hit the start button and you're back where you were, fighting the big bosses...indefinitely.
A classic made up of classics. And at the price, you really can't go wrong, period.

Pac-Man World 2 Review

Pac-Man World 2
Average Reviews:

This has truly got to be one of the best games for PS2!If you enjoyed playing Pac Man, and all the other Pac Man games while you were growing up (yes, I'm talking to you, the one's who are now parents or in that late 30's early 40's age bracket.) then you will thoroughly enjoy this PS2 game! The graphics are fantastic, similar to the original Pac Man games but you can now butt-bounce and more!I'm on the verge of purchasing this item myself. The reason I can tell you that it is good is we justrecently rented it from a local chain store and my daughter (9) and I haven't been able to put it down!
Again, if you love Pac Man and you want to have fun and relive your childhood but with more umph then you'll enjoy this game! It's also ideal for the whole family not just us big kids!

Namco Museum 50th Anniversary Review

Namco Museum 50th Anniversary
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This is definitely a nostalgia trip.

Even if you have the other museum titles it's worthwhile to pick this one up. Galaga 88 is the reason why you need this game. Galaga 88 is worth the price of admission alone. Also packaged are some other great titles (although almost all of them are already in other museum titles). You get:

Pac-Man
Ms. Pac-Man
Pac-Mania
Galaga
Galaga 88
Galaxian
Dig Dug
Pole Position
Pole Position II
Rolling Thunder
Rally X
Bosconian
Dragon Spirit
Sky Kid
Xevious
Mappy

Most of these games are great. A few of them I don't play very much namely Rally X (just never got into this one I guess) Pac-Mania and Mappy. A lot of people don't like Sky Kid, but I love that game.

If you don't have any of the Namco Museum games then you definitely need to pick this up!

There are a few downsides though. The games are great of coarse and they're all restored to their original goodness, but Namco sure didn't do much to celebrate their 50th anniversary. No history, no interviews, none of that. The only *bonus* you get is you can unlock Pac-Mania and Galaga 88 if you can get a high enough score in Pac-Man and Ms Pac Man and if you get a high score in Galaga. The scores really aren't very hard to reach though so you should unlock them within the first couple hours of play. I really wish that Namco would have done something to make this release special but they didn't. But that's okay, i'm over it :)

In closing *ahem*galaga88*ahem* I would like to say *galaga88* that this game is *galaga88* definitely worth *galaga88* the price *cough*galaga88*cough*

Xbox Live Arcade Unplugged Review

Xbox Live Arcade Unplugged
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Xbox Arcade Unplugged is a collection of some of the best-selling games from the Xbox Live Arcade on the Xbox 360.Included is 6 games, 3 demos and a 1 month subscription to live.

1 month of live (retail $8) - It is a great service for online play of any game. You can download and rent movies, buy tv episodic content, and chat with friends, families, and strangers around the world.

Bejeweled 2 (retail $10)- A popular puzzle game in which you try to match up jewels in order to get to the next level. There are several modes to Bejeweled, some unlockable. The game is a real challenge, and if you like puzzle games, you will be pleased with Bejeweled 2.

Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved (retail $5) - An instant classic in the tradition of Asteroids. You fly around in a 'ship' trying to destroy geometric shapes, each having their own characteristics. As you progress, the games elements get harder, and more shapes are introduced.A fantastic game that is fun for just about everyone.

Hardwood Backgammon (retail $5) - Classic Backgammon action. You can play against a friend on the couch, vs. the computer, or take on someone online on Xbox Live.Hardwood Backgammon is also Camera Enabled.

Outpost Kaloki X (retail $10) - A strategy game in which you are in outer space, attempting to manage power and research.A variety of missions and scenarios to keep you busy are included.

Wik and the Fable of Souls (retail $10) - A crazy game about a small creature who uses his tongue to eat bugs and whip around treelimbs.Part puzzle game, part action, this game can be very challenging. There are over 120 levels in the game, each one being more difficult than the last.

Texas Hold 'em (retail $10) - This may be the junk of the bundle.A poorly executed attempted interface leaves most poker players wondering why they didn't copy any of the popular online poker sites and their interface.Often multiplayer works too slow, while you wait for others to take their turn. There are some scenarios to work on in single player.Overall, it isn't too bad, but it leaves a lot to be desired amongst poker players. Also included are demos of Uno, Marble Blast Ultra, and Feeding Frenzy.

Uno is the classic card game everyone knows. It translates to Xbox Live very well and is camera enabled. It has a wide variety of gameplay options, including partner play.Marble Blast Ultra is a game in which you try to move your marble around to the exit point. Each level is brilliantly designed, colorful, and challenging.Feeding Frenzy is a great game for all ages, in which you start each level as a small fish, eating other fish and growing as you do so.

If you bought everything in this package for retail price, it would cost you $58.Even if you only need a couple of the $10 games, it's still agreat bargain with the 1 month of Xbox Live for free.
