Submarine Titans Review

Think of this as Command and Conquer underwater! This game predicts how undersea empires would wage war over a century in the future.

If you long for the days of the 1990's when you played C&C and all it's sequels, and you still have a working Windows 98 machine sitting around (like I do, thankfully) then by all means spend a buck or two and get this game!

Sure it looks like it was done a few years ago, but the implementation is beautiful. The sea floors are very textured with lots of precisely rendered and colorful little sea critters swimming by as you build your base and your subs and try to complete your mission.

The various units and technologies are very imaginative. There's a lot of very cool units with big, interesting tech trees to work your way through. The missions are challenging but not infuriatingly difficult or mindlessly easy. There are cut scenes between missions, and you can play through three campaigns: one for each race (or group) represented in the game.

This game is as much art as programming and was obviously a lot of work for a lot of people.I don't know why it didn't become one of the most well known RTS games of its time.

Oh yeah, I've played this game through several skirmish missions and I'm six episodes into a campaign and it hasn't crashed yet!The game is totally reliable from a technical point of view.

So, spend a buck or two for a used copy and give it a try.Once you start, you might not come up for air for a long time!

Product Description:
Submarine Titans is a real-time strategy game set in the distantfuture. A massive comet hits the Earth in 2047, forcing survivors below the surface of the oceans. They create new civilizations over the centuries, but once again start to war with one another. Players can choose between three distinct civilizations, each with its own objective, history, units, technologies, and strategies. There are the power-hungry White Sharks, the technology-savvy Black Octopi, and the alien Silicons. Players can build and deploy armies, research technology, and mine for resources. Units and buildings can be hidden in caves, under cliffs, or above opponents. The 3-D underwater universe contains five depth/elevation levels, winding mountain ranges, dimly lit caverns, cliffs, and dark tunnels. The four environments include toxic wastelands and the artic. There is a scenario editor, a random mission generator, and a scripting language that allows the creation or modification of custom player assistants and enemy artificial intelligence. The game has multiplayer support for up to 24 players over a LAN or the Internet.

Dangerous Waters Review

This game is one of the most innovative software titles I've installed on my computer in a long time.It packs in so much. What other simulation out there gives you 7 different platforms in 1 game?In Dangerous Waters, you get a Seawolf sub, an LA sub, Kilo sub, Akula sub, Perry class Missile frigate, the P-3 sub-hunting aircraft, and MH-60 helo in one game. All as playables. You can battle below the seas, on the seas, or high above the seas. For the amount of money you pay, you basically get 7 different sims. And with 7 different sims in 1, you'll get lots of playability.I've been playing it for a few months and have gotten my moneys worth and more.

And what an incredible experience you get.I've always wondered what it would be like to sneak up on and destroy Russian or Chinese naval units in a nuke sub, and with DW, I get my chance without joining the Navy. It's also alot of fun defending yourself against incoming missiles in the Frigate, and turning around and destroying the enemy ships with your Harpoons and Standard missiles.

The software runs very smoothly on my system and is scalable. The graphics are done very nicely with excellent bump-mapped textures giving the ocean waves a realistic look. The naval ship models all look true to form. My only 1 minor complaint is that there are a few models that are not accurately modeled. But it doesn't take anything away from the experience of naval warfare.Still, most of the models look very good. And game audio is also well done.

For those of you looking for an interesting simulation experience, DW is for you.I give this sim 5 stars and highly recommend it.I think another reviewer stated this sim is "naval combat at its best".I totally agree.

Warship Gunner 2 Review

I've had this game for a few weeks and so far its pretty good. I can do without the animation before and after each mission.
However, the game play is pretty good. I have the first warship gunner and the addition to the submarine is a big plus. It was alot better then i thought it would be. I am going through the game for the second time and the levels and weapons are getting more intense. Bottom line,if you like the first, get this one.

Red Baron II Review

This is a great game that allows you to fly any ww1 fighter plane from german fokkers to british sopwith camels. you can also set enemy skill level as well as unlimited or limited ammo, feul, etc. there is also missisons which are mostly pretty good. But the best is fly now mode which you can fly a plane of your choice then if you have unlimited ammo you can bomb and strafe the air feilds destroy bulidings, hangers, bridges, factories. the grafics aren't the best but there are hills, forests, trenches, AA guns, ballons, machine guns, cars, trucks. and everything can be desroyed! you can also dogfight with enemy aces, novices, vetrens, elites etc. there are exturnal and inturnal veiws and a map pinpointing your position and showing enemy positions as well as your own. there is also campaign missions were you can color your own plane. this is a great game if your in it for the combat or just the flying. i'd say this game is own of the best ww1 combat/flying simulators and is well worth the purchase.
