I haven't played a good shoot-em-up since Wolfenstein 3-D, and brother,it's been too long. This game excels at everything: top notch controls (useboth analog sticks, trust me, just do it), graphics (some minor clippingprobs, but hey, it's a Playstation), and gameplay (ooooooooh yes),authentic weaponry (no bogus gun names here... Browning, Walther, Colt,Thompson, Panzershrek, these are the real deal), behind the scenes detail(original artwork, your charatcter's training records and collegetranscript) but what really drew me in was the sound. The ambientbackground noise - dogs barking, planes flying overhead, German commandersshouting orders - not only make you feel like you're behind enemy lines,but you actually believe it, while the superb and unparalleled soundtrackmakes those enemy lines feel like they're in a classic war film. My adviceto you is to also purchase theaccompanying music CD, it's that bloody good.Hopefully this will spawn a new revolution in historical-based period piecevideo games instead of the cookie-cutter action games set in the presentand near future. Congratulations Dreamworks Interactive, you've made mycentury.
