Last week I wouldn't have claimed to know very much about football.I won't insult all you veteran armchair quarterbacks by saying that I've figured the game out, either. But having spent one hour after another playing Madden NFL 2003 on the Gamecube, I must say that I'm quickly becoming a fan of football and am planning on sticking with the game through the 30-season "Franchise" mode.I having enjoyed using the "Football 101" mode (John Madden teaches the player every offensive play in the book) to hone my skills on the football field.Rather than jumping in and starting a losing season (because I stink at the game), I can practice, and earn tokens to buy Madden Cards in the meantime! The wealth of modes is indispensable to a guy like me who is new to the sport and who wants to build his skills.Basically, Madden 2003 is teaching me the game, and I am loving the experience. The reviewers before me hit all the other points.I just wanted to encourage you new players to learn the game with Madden.
