As far as the Play and Charge Kit is concerned...

This is a must have with your 360 and a controller.

You can plug it in via USB to your Xbox 360 and charge the included battery pack while you play your game.

You can also remove your battery pack, and plug the cable directly to your 360 for wired gaming (so your controller won't shut off while you are in the middle of that hired driver Forza race.

This charges via any USB port on your 360, your computer, your cable box, or your dog (if he has included USB hub).

I recommend buying one of these, then buying the Quick Charge Kit.Then you'll have 2 battery packs, the quick charge dock, and a USB charge cable.

As far as the controller is concerned, it's a great color, and is your typical xbox 360 controller otherwise.Great ergonomics and fits in your color scheme whether you have the black or white console.

Playstation 2 and PC Alienware Gamepad Review

(More customer reviews)I gave this controller a 4 out of 5 stars because I haven't had a problem with it, but then again I only use it for my ps2.

As far a using it for the ps2 system it works excellent and you probably wont find anything better. The control handle is a bit thicker than the normal ps2 controller and gives it a more steady feel in the hands. You may not really notice it much if at all but the feeling of it will feel much better than other ps2 controllers.

Another great feature on this controller is the option of switching the joystick tops, or grips from the standard round ps2 style to the concave type the microsoft did with there controllers. I prefer the concave style so my thumbs are sitting nice and steady of the joysticks instead of constantly adjusting them to the round tops but that is just me.

The D-pad on the alienware controller here is much better than standard ps2 controllers or even some other off brand company controller because instead of the d-pad being 4 individual buttons that can be irritating to use, if you were to use them, is just a single pad that tilts but contains the outlines of the original so its like the standard controller but not. This may not be a serious deal to most people but if you were playing old playstation games on your ps2 like I tend to do than this controller would work wonders for you.

I haven't done much of computer game playing with this controller but from what I did use this controller for I can tell you that it is much better at just being a ps2 controller than a pc controller. It can't just be plugged into the computer and be used and depending on the game it might not even work. The usb connector was pretty unstable and shook loose from the port a few times for me. I don't really know if it was just me or not but I didn't really have much luck with this on the pc but if your looking for a new ps2 controller than this would be a good way to go.

Now for all that your getting this is a pretty decent controller for just around $25 and it comes in 4 colors. I personally got the blue and I really didn't want it cause, not to say the blue it bad, the blue lights just irritate me but thats just me. Of my personally opinion the black or green ones would be nice for anyone but that is just me. Hope I was able to help some people here with this review.

What do you get for an extra $10? just the pretty looks and a little plastic army man (Okay, it is Spartan 117). I was disappointed that it did not come with the rechargeable battery for the extra money which is the reason for the lower review however, it is still a rock solid product and is recommended for the fanboy in us all.

(More customer reviews)My old battery cover fell apart into several pieces after a drop to a tile floor.This replacement cover seems to be much stronger, like it is a single plastic mold rather than two or three pieces glued together.It fits perfect and you almost can't tell from outside that it's a replacement part.I was also having problems with the batteries losing contact fairly easily before, and that problem was resolved with this new cover.

Don't waste your time with third party stuff for this.The Microsoft adapter fit perfectly, hooked up quickly, and the on screen setup was tremendously easy.Withing 15 minutes I was online, playing games with a group.
Great purchase.Yes a bit pricey, but it works extremely well, and I have yet to loose a signal.My house is 1650 sq. feet, and my Router is in my office, last door on the right, and still, my signal is very strong!Very pleased.

(More customer reviews)I put a great deal of interest in my purchases. With a lot of extra down-time at work and an internet connection, I find myself reviewing EVERYTHING before I buy it. And only after I am very impressed and convinced by many positive reviews will I take out my credit card. But this product, the Microsoft XBOX360 Media Remote, was one exception having read many bad reviews and deciding to purchase it anyway. Let me tell you...

This remote is PERFECT if...

1. You would like one, easy-to-use remote to control both basic TV and an Xbox 360 that doubles as your DVD player.
2. The only buttons you would need for the TV are: Channels, Volume (TV speaker/output control only), Numerical channel input, Muting, *INTPUT SELECTION* (yes, it CAN switch between your TV's inputs), Return (to toggle between 2 TV channels), and Power.
3. You do not need specialized/advanced buttons found on a OEM remote or advanced learning remote for the TV.
4. You do not need to control a A/V receiver, DVD player (other than XBOX 360), or a digital cable box (Tivo, DVR, etc.)
5. You are on a budget but would still like a quality remote.

If you can say yes to all or most, then don't hesitate to grab one of these remotes. You will be completely satisfied. Especially with immediate access to the tactile DVD buttons versus the 360's annoying on-screen DVD navigation. For this feature it is almost worth the $30 alone.

P.S.
I also own a Logitech Harmony 880 for the living room which I highly recommend for anyone not fitting into the catagory mentioned above.

(More customer reviews)This is a good looking controller, with some improvements over the original design. A lot of people are complaining about the lack of color on the a,b,x,y buttons, but I don't need them to have color anyway.

I like the new texture of the controller. It isn't a slippery surface and has a little tackier/rougher feel. Makes it easier to hold onto if your hands sweat. I also like that they added a bit of resistance to the thumbsticks. This should also help fix the problem of the thumbsticks getting "floaty" after some use. The trigger buttons also now have a curve, but doesn't really have an impact on use or feel for me, but okay design.

On to the directional pad. It still sucks. It is neat that you can convert it to a raised plus shape or more of a flat shape, but the underlying problem is still there. The d-pad is still on top of a disk, which makes it imprecise. I was trying to enter character names last night and had to use the thumbstick because the d-pad is so inaccurate. I would love it if they went to the ps3 style d-pad that is just four digital buttons instead of basically an analog directional pad.

Gave it 4 stars, would have been 5 if they fixed the d-pad.

(More customer reviews)I've owned the Xbox 360 Wireless Controller for Windows device for about a week, and the only thing I am unhappy about is that I waited so long to buy this controller.

Combined with Xpadder, a free program that lets you emulate key presses and mouse movements directly from the controller (google the program), the 360 controller has become a great way to websurf, play games (e.g. Gears of War, Resident Evil 4), and even control media applications such as Cyberlink PowerDVD.If you don't want to bother programming the Xpadder software yourself, you can download predefined profiles for each of your programs and modify them as you see fit.The range of the controller is sufficient for me, but I have a pretty small apartment :-)I do not know how long the batteries will last and I am considering getting some kind of rechargeable setup.I've run this controller on both Windows XP and Windows Vista without any bugs or other problems.

Overall, I rate this product a 4.5/5.0 stars.The only modification I would make to the controller is to disable it's 'auto-off' feature that shuts down the controller automatically after around 10 - 15 minutes of disuse.When you are reading a web page for a long period of time or watching a movie, having to hit the 'on' button on the center of the pad before you can use the controller again is a minor annoyance.However, for most people who will use this controller primarily for gaming, this is not a problem at all and is instead a battery preserving feature, thus the deduction of only 0.5 stars.

I highly recommend this product.

(More customer reviews)As you can see from the other reviews, this device works very well for some, and not so well for others.Putting aside the interference problem with other 2.4ghz devices such as mice (2.4ghz wireless routers will NOT give you problems), I believe there is a single solution to almost everyone's problem, which I will outline below.

After installing the device & software, I couldn't get my black wireless xbox360 elite controller to sync with the receiver.The ring light on the controller would rotate while trying to connect to the receiver.The light on the receiver would blink attempting to locate the controller.After a few seconds, the ring on the controller would stop rotating, and start blinking.A connection could not be made.

After some research, I found the solution.The issue is with USB power.The receiver needs A LOT of it.If you have other devices on your USB, especially high powered USB keyboards or mice, the receiver might not work.Try removing all USB devices and rebooting your PC with only a PS/2 mouse and keyboard connected.The receiver and controller should sync up immediately, even before you finish booting into windows.This fixed my problem.

If this is your problem, there are two solutions.1) a USB PCI interface card, or 2) an externally powered USB hub (NOT BUS POWERED).I believe the receiver needs a lot of power because its capable of syncing to four separate devices.The USB on most motherboards simply isn't strong enough.Hope this helps.

Xbox 360 Wireless Controller Review

(More customer reviews)I bought this black wireless controller so I could have another wireless controller.Be advised when reading reviews on this product that it appears some people are reviewing the Xbox 360 Silver Controller and Play & Charge Kit, which is a special controller that is different (and more expensive as of this writing) than the black controller I am reviewing.This controller does NOT have any chrome items on it (other than the usual Xbox Guide button), nor does it have any upgrades to the D-pad.

As far as the controller itself, I didn't notice any structural difference between this controller and my old white controller that came with my Pro 20GB Xbox 360 several years ago.I did notice, however, that this controller properly charges my Play & Charge Kit where my old one did not.Prior to buying this controller, my Play & Charge kit would always show the red light while recharging.Since the recharging appeared to work anyway, I didn't think much of it (especially after calling Microsoft and being informed that the warranty on accessories is only 90 days, though that was in 2008).Since I assumed that the battery was at fault the whole time, I was surprised to find out that this controller charged the battery and (correctly) showed a green light when charging was complete.

Though it did not appear to be a structural change to the controller, I had somewhat forgotten (or not realized?) how much wear my controller has taken over the four years (give or take) since I got my console.The new controller gives me a bit more precision in games, especially with the right stick and the pushing of the sticks (for activities like sprinting).The tactility of the sticks (with little raised lines for grip) were a nice reminder of what my controller seemed to have at one time.

This was a satisfying purchase for functionality and the nice sleek look of black.I should also note that while the description of the item is "Glossy Black," this controller isn't really what I would call glossy like you would call the bezel of an LCD monitor or clear coat on a car.It gives off very little gloss in my opinion, which is fine by me.

(More customer reviews)I got this controller after having issues playing Lego Harry Potter on my PC (windows 7-64).the installation was simple and the controller is excellent.I am very happy with this purchase and am starting to use it for other games now also.. certain games are definitely more enjoyable with a console style controller.. driving games and anything that's 3rd person can be played with one of these..

NOTE: be sure you install the driver before you plug the device in for the first time!there is a warning about this on the USB cable but just wanted to reinforce that..
