However, once the player has delved into this deep fulfilling world created by 3DO and Pandemic Studios, one can not help but compare this title to an onion, constantly revealing new layers of wonder, while making the player cry with enjoyment in knowing that the feast waiting ahead will be greater than the splendor currently in front of them.
Andrews has directed this magnum opus with great gusto, and has counterplayed Payne's and Iarossi's superlative programming genius with Welch's undeterring artistic vision. Harding has leveraged the resulting combination to create believable, lush worlds that add to the outstanding gameplay flow.
I find the comment below me rather amusing, since it took quite an effort to get this game over a month before release. To just sign off with "it suxx0rs 3d0 lame" seems to be an unfair cop-out at what is potentially the best Army Men title I have played. However, the effort of procurement was definitely worth it. I recommend anyone with a vague interest in strategy, or even just wanting a relaxing blast-em-up pick up this title.
I will be honestly suprised if this title doesn't make many magazines "Best Of" awards. I have only one thing to say - Bravo, 3DO, Bravo.

(More customer reviews)I love this game, my kids (ages 10,11,16) love this game, and we play it often. Even though it is several years older than others that have come out since, it is a fallback of joy, laughter, thrills, and excitement. The you vs. game component isn't bad and you have three levels to work with to get yourself to the end. But it's the journey, my friends. Plastic army men on household and back yard battlefields was like having the games you used to play as a kid with these toys come to life!
The Capture the Flag and Death Match parts are the best, especially Death Match, which is four player and usually what the kids and I play. You will have to adjust your brightness in the options section as it is pretty dark, but the adjustment makes it fine. Hurl grenades, find the flamethrowers or HMG for maximum firepower, and find the protective gear and you're set for a great time. It is easy to master thanks to the automatic targeting aim, so even the lamest novice can do well. Making it that much cooler from a parent's point of view, this isn't bloody at all - they're plastic!! It's kind of funny to watch these giant holes get blasted in the plastic guys and yet they still run around! Imagine the character from T2 as a plastic army man!
I could ramble on and on but let me just say that I believe you will really enjoy this. Unless your child (or you) need some blood drenched game to enjoy, this game is a blast!

The Max # Units (The Number Of Units You Can Put Out At One Time) Is Not Defined. And Your Resources Near Your Starting Point Are So Limited. Plus Sometimes It's Nearly Impossible To Select Certain People Because They Get Too Close To Walls So The Cursor Can't Get Them. I Had Fun Setting Up Home Bases So You Should Too!
