Patrician IV Review

The Patrician was the head of the European trading organization called the Hanseatic League, which came to power during the Middle Ages in Northern Europe, yielding as much might as royalty or religious leaders of the era. In the game you can defy destiny by starting out as a small stall trader and, if you are savvy in the laws of economic and trade, rise to the head of the most powerful merchant organization of its time. Manage your fleet, buy goods low and sell them high, optimize your trade routes, defy greedy royalty and opportunistic pirates, as you try to etch out a profitable living. This game, while not casual to play by any stretch, features a very realistic economy and should appeal to anyone that has enjoyed the Settlers, Anno or even earlier Patrician titles.

Product Description:
Based on the franchise that has sold more than two million copies and won the hearts of gamers worldwide, Patrician IV will challenge players to rise up the merchant ranks to become the leader of a burgeoning shipping empire during the late Middle Age in Northern Europe - a time where success in trade could be as rewarding and influential as the power bestowed by noble birth, religious position or political clout. Patrician IV's authentic supply and demand-based trading system allows players to grow their business and head out to the high seas to form trading routes with other Hanseatic cities negotiating better prices for the buying and selling of goods. Sea battles keep the pace action-backed, as players combat pirates and enemy players.
