(More customer reviews)When Sega's Yakuza for the PS2 finally came stateside a while back, it offered up a decently entertaining brawler at best that just didn't do too much to seperate itself from the rest of the pack.Yakuza 2 thankfully, and surprisingly, improves on much of what the first game offered in terms of gameplay, graphics, and story; and is a pretty satisfying brawler that will keep you entertained for some time.Playing once again as Kazuma, you traverse through a nicely detailed Japan, and are still looking to put an end to your days with the mob.The game looks solid for a late-in-life PS2 game, offering up some nicely detailed characters and environments, while gameplay-wise the moments of brawling are easy enough to pick up and get into, and other elements bear more in common with the gameplay of the classic Shenmue.There's a lot of secrets and extras to find and uncover as well, and as a whole, Yakuza 2 will keep you busy for a while at the very least.The game's story is also nicely crafted, and offers up some memorable moments and characters.The only real flaws with Yakuza 2 is that there isn't too much here you haven't seen done before, and while for a PS2 game it looks great, there are some noticeable graphical hiccups.Flaws aside however, Yakuza 2 is a surprisingly good improvement on the first game that ends up being an enjoyable and even more surprisingly immersive experience that PS2 owners should definitely check out.

ToeJam & Earl Review

(More customer reviews)Though it rarely gets the attention it deserves, Toejam and Earl is positively the best game I've played for Genises. The graphics, though of course nothing like modern graphics, still hold up well. but the game play and the characters are what make it great. the two are aliens from funkotron, a very funky planet far away. however, earl crashes into an asteroid, and as fate would have it, they crash land on the most insane planet in the universe- earth. your job is to navigate them through different levels with roads, ponds, and islands in the middle of space picking up presents (power-ups) in order to find pieces of your spaceship and then the elevater up to the next level. the game is best played with two players, which is what the creators had in mind when making the game (go to their site, www.tjande.com to read up on them). anyway, the two-player mode is even more fun, and the split screen works surprisingly well. also, as i mentioned, the characters are hilariously, from the chickens with mortars to the herd of nerds to the wiseman in the carrot suit. if you have a genises, buy this game. best of all, everything is randomly generated, so it never gets old!

(More customer reviews)Nostalgia aside, Panzer is a top notch experience from every angle.In a nutshell, you pilot a girl and her dragon against
some incredible bosses, make some freinds, and blast your way through a deep story about a race of humans in a post-apocalyptic fantasy world that may or may not be a future earth.
If you appreciate good science fiction and dig very cool, very strange graphics then you will not be disappointed.
Lots of awesome unlockables round out a very polished production.The cut scenes tell a well-crafted tale and the game world is extremely detailed in it's execution.
Pandora's box is where you open the goodies you have earned and they are sweet and plentiful.Everything from an encyclopedia
to extra missions to production art is there for the earning.
Not to mention an entire first Panzer game that came out for the Sega Saturn.
This is a game you put on to blow away your freinds but it is also mega-tweeked gameplay that will keep you coming back for more.
Those who dismiss it as simplistic need to give it more time to sink in.This is a shooter at heart, but the action, artwork and level bosses elevate it beyond the norm.
This is not an easy game, but not too difficult.The controls take some mastering, but a few hours in and you will be at one with your dragon girl.
Between the great graphics and tense action-the challenge is keeping your tongue inside your mouth while playing.

Skilled players are rewarded with extras such as passages of Panzer Dragoon fiction, concept sketches, additional playable characters, extra missions, and even the original Panzer Dragoon game from 1995. The goodies celebrate the rich history of the Panzer Dragoon series, and fill in the background of the game's unfolding story.

Bleach: Dark Souls Review

(More customer reviews)The Nintendo DS is definitely lacking in the fighting department, the only other DS fighter that is remotely as good as this is it's predecessor, Bleach: The Blade of Fate. This installment in the Bleach series is not too different from The Blade of Fate to be honest, but it has enough additions to make it a worthy purchase, especially if you are a fan of the Manga/Anime. There is an expanded cast of playable characters, 44 in total. That being said, there are way too many joke characters in this game. Several characters are totally useless, and really, who would want to play as a Hollow when you can be one of the Elite Soul Reapers? The only real benefit of the expanded roster in comparison to The Blade of Fate is having a greater variety of characters to beat on. Overall this game seems faster to me than the previous game, which is definitely a plus. When 4 players are in a free-for-all, you will not see a hint of slowdown, definitely a plus. Story Mode has a decent length and will definitely take you awhile to achieve 100% completion on all difficulties. You no longer have to play through every single mission again in order to unlock everything, once you beat the game you can skip over missions that you have already completed. The card system is better, you can now have 4 cards to choose from at once instead of just 2. The Reiju crystals add a bit to the character balance, you can take a painfully slow character like Sajin Komamura and make him fast enough to keep up with the likes of Ichigo, which makes Komamura nearly unstoppable (huge plus for me as he is my favorite character). For those of you that are into wifi gaming, you'll have to buy this version since everyone playing Bleach online will be playing Dark Souls as opposed to the Blade of Fate. In short, this is more like Blade of Fate version 1.5, but it's the best Bleach game you can get and definitely the best DS fighter that you can buy short of importing the Jump! games.
