Bella Sara Review

This is a great horse game for the DS whether you're into the Bella Sara website or not. I grew up during the pokemon card craze so having a game where you collect cards was a nice throw back to my younger days. It took me just under a week to complete all the challenges and find all the cards. The cards represent beautiful artwork. There are three different trails with different challenges for each and then there are three different jump courses that you can ride multiple times to collect all the cards. You get 6 different magical horses to ride, the 6th being a winged horse you get after completing all the challenges. Who wouldn't want to play a horse game where you get to ride a winged horse?
However there are cons. The graphics are sub par. The cards look great, but the actual horses you ride look like they're poorly molded from clay. Not much detail was paid to how the game horses look. Also the horse tires too fast in my opinion. After it gets tired, you have to go through the grooming, feeding, cleaning the stall, and petting routine all over again. This gets tiring and repetitive, especially when you have six horses. A third complaint is that you get the flying horse too late in the game to do much with it. The challenges are all complete. I used the horse to go through the jump courses again and collect cards and I suppose this is what you're supposed to do, but I would like to see some challenges designated just for that horse as some of the other challenges are.
Overall it is a very fun game and worth the purchase if you're into horse games.

Horse Life Review

In the beggining of the game, you get to choose a breed. Then the mare has a foal, and the foal is your horse. Then you name your horse, and the game goes to "Two Years Later." Then your guide, who looks a little weird, helps you train your horse and enter it in contests. The things you teach your horse are pretty easy. There are four types of contests, and five levels. Every time you get a diploma, whcich is what you get for teaching your horse things, you can enter in a new contest level. The four types of contests are dressage trial, steelchase, cross-country, and eventing. In the dressage trial, you preform tricks. In the steelchase, you go over a bunch of jumps. The cross-country is like the steelchase, but it has a path, and the eventing is all three. You can also go for rides in the forest, and you can unlock new parts of the forest. You have to clean your horse and muck out the stall. You can visit your horse in the pasture, too. In the gear shop, you can buy clothes, saddles, brushes, shampoo, treats, and food. Also, there is an awsome grand prize. If you complete the natonal contests and start a new game, you can get a unicorn! If you want a horse game, you should buy this one.

Pony Friends 2 Review

Over all this is a great game. There are many breeds _ to be exact. Every breed looks slightly different. Among them are Shetland ponies, arabians, mustangs. You can look through the breeds or create your own. If you create your own there are many things to choose from. There are also tons of mini games such as braiding, teaching tricks etc. The only type of competition is sort of like a jumping/race. It's a race but you also have to jump. One thing I absolutely love about this game is the many trails. Each trail is short, but there are many and you can choose which trail to take by steering your horse either left or right. You also take pictures along the way. The one thing that really annoys me about this game is loading screens. I've never I mean never seen loading screens on a DS. For this game, every time you change the color of a custom pony, the screen goes white and then you see the color. I guess it doesn't really matter but it's annoying if you're flipping through colors or breeds. This goes the same when switching tack or if you pick the "riding" option, the screen goes purple and then a little spinner thing comes. I just find this really annoying. I might add that this is also real time so the time of day depends.
