(More customer reviews)Phoenix Wright 2, was originally released on Gameboy Advance, but, like Phoenix Wright 1, has made the jump to Nintendo DS.

The English translation in this game is very well done.It has many more puns and Internet pop culture references than Phoenix Wright one.Apart from the Judge always calling the new (female) prosecutor 'sir' the English was perfect, and much funnier than the English Version the first Phoenix Wright.

Amongst all the old faces, several new characters are added to the lineup, including, perhaps the most ferocious prosecutor yet,Franziska von Karma and Maya's adorable cousin, Pearl.

Not surprisingly, the gameplay, music and graphics are almost identical to Phoenix Wright 1.A few new elements has been added or improved on.Maya gives you her Magatama, a magical jewel that allows you to see when someone is lying.While this can not be used in a court scene, it can be used in the detective scenes between court sessions.

Also, in Phoenix Wright, you had 5 exclamation marks in the court scenes.When you made a false accusation, one of these were taken away by the judge.This has been replaced by a blue bar.Now, if you make a large error, the judge will take away a larger section of the bar.It's now more risky than ever to take guesses.Evidence is everything in courts.

These two editions make the game significantly more difficult than the first.In addition, the cases are longer, and more complex.

However, unlike the first game, there is not a new DS exclusive case.There are only the four original Game Boy Advance cases to play.

Unfortunately, there is very little replay value in this game.

(More customer reviews)No matter how the game's cover may look to you, make no mistake that Professor Layton and the Curious Village is one of the best original puzzle games you'll play on the DS yet.A combination of adventure storytelling and traditional puzzle gaming, Professor Layton never fails to entertain while providing some challenging puzzles.The game revolves around said Professor Layton traveling to a small village with his young assistant Luke.Both of whom are on a search for something called The Golden Apple.To search the town, you move from one area to another by tapping the touch screen, and along the way, you can discover hidden puzzles, hint coins, and secrets, as well as interacting with the townspeople and solving more puzzles.The game's graphics are incredibly charming, and the FMV sequences are very well done to boot.The best part about Professor Layton and the Curious Village is that once you do beat the game and unlock the game's 120 plus puzzles, you can download weekly puzzles for absolutely free!The only real flaw of Professor Layton and the Curious Village is that the game's music is repetitive and even kind of annoying, but you can always turn the volume of the DS down, which you might want to do.That aside, don't let the box art fool you into thinking that this is a game just for kids.Professor Layton and the Curious Village is an absolute must own for every puzzle loving DS owner.

Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box Review

(More customer reviews)I picked up Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box because the last game was so popular, but I hadn't played it - it's on order now, after playing the Diabolical Box!

The graphics, music and looks of the game are wonderful with mini movies and cut to's that are of great quality.

The puzzles which are around every corner and nook are great - some are more difficult then others and for the most part I have solved the ones given - hint coins that are found throughout the game can come in very handy.

I found this to be a relaxing game compared to Henry Hatsworth which I have been playing but is frustrating to me - this game is a true downtime game to be enjoyed - great story line and wonderful characters and interesting puzzles that will baffle you at times, but won't make you want to pull your hair out.

The characters are really cool - all of them so far that I have encountered are enchanting as is the game!

I can finally see what all of the fuss is about - the Professor Layton games are truly what the DS was made for!
