CSI: 3 Dimensions of Murder Review

CSI: 3 Dimensions of Murder

I've played each of the previous CSI games and this one was even better. There are none of the quirky little bugs that affected previous games, and the new 3D feature is fun and very interesting. There are times when you have to turn the evidence around using the 3D feature in order to get trace. This games seems to be more logical and therefore it's fun and challenging without being frustrating. There is even a "cheats" section if you really get stuck. All the TV characters seem to be doing the voicework for their game counterparts with the exception of Sara. The actress they got to do her part in this was very annoying - trying to imitate Sara's odd speech pattern.

The games are each a little longer, making the $30 price very reasonable for the entertainment value. This game is on one CD only, so you have to have it in to play.(Unlike previous games that took more to load.)However, the transitions from scene to scene are a little annoying because each time it takes you back to the title page while the CD loads the new scene.A minor thing, but think about this happening over and over throughout the game.

They've also improved things by offering only certain tools for each piece of evidence. While you still have to know what you are doing to use them, it makes it much less frustrating when you don't have to go through each tool before finding the correct one to use. They've also added a "mobile" lab which doesn't add much to the story.Still, I applaud them trying to improve with each round.

I feel this is a great value for the money.

CSI Hard Evidence Review

CSI Hard Evidence

One reviewer said that your computer needs to have certain modern functions, like 2 gig processor speed and a lot of RAM. That is true, and luckily I have one that fits the bill. The PC version is indeed a DVD rom, unlike the previous versions, so yes it takes more to run this baby. That being said, I will say that this is the best CSI game yet!

These cases, which are not even all solved yet, have many challenges. My wife and I alternate cases, and have a tough time getting a 100% master rating on all of them. I think only case 3 got me that honor.

New twists abound here as well. In the previous game, 3 Dimensions of Murder, it was frustrating to click on a possible area of evidence only to have your case mentor say there's nothing to find there, and it was frustrating when we were searching for the one little evidence piece to move us forward. In THIS game, you get points for being thorough even in the non-evidence-laden areas. PLUS, there are areas with bugs crawling around. Grab these for bug-loving boss Grissom for some extra kiss-up points. If there's a piano in the room, you can play a ditty and your mentor will compliment you. Useless in case-solving, but it makes the game all the more fun.

So, if your computer is up to 2007 standards (I bought mine in early 2007, so it is most likely 2006-friendly, LOL), I highly recommend it. You will pull your hair out at times, but the payoff when you link the evidence together is sweet. Seeing DNA matches, fingerprint matches, assembling broken vases, comparing fabrics under the microscope, and analyzing substances is all part of the fun.

CSI: Deadly Intent Review

CSI: Deadly Intent

After reading the last person's review, I too have to say that I had a bit of trouble installing the game as in the autoplay wouldn't come up and I had to prompt it and then wait five to ten minutes for it to load.It was a bit irritating, but it was eventually installed. You do have to check the SP version of your computer though (I don't really know what this MEANS, but if you have Windows XP, you need SP3 and if you have Vista, the game is only supported under SP1) before buying the game, though! With that being said, here is my review of the game.

I thought it was by far the best CSI game yet.I've played them all multiple times and was really excited for the release of this one, especially after the disappointment that came from CSI: NY's seek and find nonsense. The graphics are a LOT more advanced and if you have the latest graphics card for your computer, they are going to come up really well.Be warned though: you really have to WORK in this game. When you are looking for a fingerprint, it isn't outlined in white like it used to be.Granted if you pass over the space where the fingerprint is, the cursor will turn into a blue toolbox letting you know that it's there, but you have to scan the entire surface of items to find that print. Also, when you go to Brass for a warrant/interrogation request, you will always need supporting evidence to back your claim and you have to choose from your evidence what ties to your reasoning. When you're interrogating a suspect, you can often catch someone in a lie by providing this evidence as backup for your question.

The cases are highly unique and are all packed with twists and turns, especially the last one!In my past experience, the last case in CSI games usually ties the other 4 cases together, but case 5 in this was completely unique which I loved.Overall, the game was excellent. It was a long wait for it, but it was well worth it!I highly recommend it.
