If my 65 year-old Dad who never plays Playstation can catch lunker sized bass, you can too. I LOVE this game. The underwater view allows you to really learn how to make lures look real, and use rod action to attract and catch bass (small and largemouth), bluegill, and catfish. You can set out on 4 different lakes (3 + one hidden) in career, tournament, and fishing trip modes, or see just how good you are in any of the 13+ challenge levels. If you've NEVER tried a fishing game before, this is a great title to get you started.

Sega Bass Fishing Review

I've been looking forward to this game since its announcement.I still play the orginal bass fishing and sega marine fishing on the Dreamcast because they are so much fun.

This version has better graphics (not drastically better, but they do look cleaner and brighter) more ambient sounds effects, tons of new locations and nature trip mode.Nature mode is a more realistic and relaxing way to play and there is no music and it takes longer to get a fish to bite.

The Wii controls are great...you cast with the Wiimote and reel using the nunchuck. The wiimote even makes a winding sound as you reel a fish in.You can also use the wiimote to control the height of the rod onscreen.

The game does have a few faults that have carried over from the original dreamcast version.Namely the fact that your fishing line goes through objects underwater and the fish can have some jittery animations if they stuck near a rock or something.

Overall its a fun game that anyone can play for only $30.00.

I bought this product as a surprise for my husband. He's played some of the other fishing games, but wasn't ever truly excited about playing them after about an hour and then they'd sit on the shelf. He doesn't get to fish as much as he'd like to for various health reasons, but he really does enjoy the act of fishing. I thought I would take a chance on this game to see if it would raise his spirits a little. I was very surprised by his reaction to the game. He started out by playing the Rod and Reel part of the game and he enjoyed it a little more than other fishing games he has, but I really noticed his excitement level increase when I heard him laughing and whooping it up with our nephew while they were playing the Bow part of the game. I stood watching them both play the game for a while and it looked like they were having a lot of fun shooting the fish. I guess people really do fish with Bows and Spear Guns. My husband is truly happy with the game and has been playing it non stop since since we got it three days ago. He was having so much fun with it that I had to try it myself and I am not really a video game player, but the controls were very easy and after a couple of tries I was catching fish just like my husband was. I even beat him by shooting a record alligator gar!

I highly recommend this game to anyone who likes fishing and hunting games because this game has something the other games seem to lack, continuous enjoyment after the first few hours of playing. Oh, and the controls are easy enough that even I can play it. It's nice to have a game my family can enjoy together, now if I can just get him to give me a turn with the controller...
