Xbox 360 Play & Charge Kit with Black Controller Review

Xbox 360 Play & Charge Kit with Black Controller

You get a controller and a charging unit bundled together here.

As far as the Play and Charge Kit is concerned...

This is a must have with your 360 and a controller.

You can plug it in via USB to your Xbox 360 and charge the included battery pack while you play your game.

You can also remove your battery pack, and plug the cable directly to your 360 for wired gaming (so your controller won't shut off while you are in the middle of that hired driver Forza race.

This charges via any USB port on your 360, your computer, your cable box, or your dog (if he has included USB hub).

I recommend buying one of these, then buying the Quick Charge Kit.Then you'll have 2 battery packs, the quick charge dock, and a USB charge cable.

As far as the controller is concerned, it's a great color, and is your typical xbox 360 controller otherwise.Great ergonomics and fits in your color scheme whether you have the black or white console.

Star Trek Voyager: Elite Force Review

Star Trek Voyager: Elite Force

This is without question the best Star Trek game ever made - period - and the first-person shooter aspect makes it even better. The graphics are very nice to look at (it utilizes the Quake 3 engine), as are the weapons and dialogue between the characters. This game will probably be a little on the easy side for experienced gamers, since it offers few challenging puzzles. At the same time, however, the pace is quick enough to keep veterans interested and keep inexperienced players on the edge of their seat. Very well balanced for everyone concerned.
The only downside to this game is the system requirements. You have to have a very sweet computer to run this game. I have a P III 750 mhz with 128 megs of RAM and a Voodoo 3 and there were still a few instances when the game action got very sluggish. Anyone with an older computer should probably stay away from the game, unless you want to set the graphics detail to the lowest setting, but even then you'll probably run into problems. It's too bad, really, that the game is so demanding, since it could have been almost perfect if it weren't for the system requirements.
All in all, if you have a good computer, it is definitely a great game to purchase, regardless of if you're a Star Trek fan or not.

F.E.A.R. Perseus Mandate Review

F.E.A.R. Perseus Mandate
Average Reviews:

Lately, the are a number of novels sporting ROBERT LUDLUM's name up front - yet they are ghostwritten by in-stable-writers of his publisher. A good effort in their part, yet, of course, they feel nothing like a LUDLUM's novel.

SIERRA, the legal owner of the FEAR franchise, is putting out this official (stand alone) expansion - whilst, MONOLITH, the original team that actually created FEAR, has announced its own upcoming expansion named PROJECT ORIGIN.
As with ghostwritten books, the in-house elves do not feel confident to create anything new and instead take baby-steps around the original story. Thus, the PERSEUS MANDATE is actually the same story as the original FEAR - seen from the perspective of a different F.E.A.R. agent on a timeline that runs parallel to the original.

To make this idea more palatable, a new set of weapons and gadgets are available (you will love the UV scope that helps targeting in foggy rooms) and the set of enemies is refreshed with some new additions. Paxton Fettel, the original villain gets replaced by, well, Perseus (whose Mandate we are concerned with), Alma (the scary little grungy girl) only makes fleeing appearances - and Shade fits the shoes of the scariest spectral beast around.

The graphics, although somewhat improved, do not veer far from the original - which may not be a bad thing, since they were quite good, yet somewhat dated today. What has clearly improved is the sound: PERSEUS MANDATE may not be as visually scary as the original but it sure is aurally scary!

All in all, a slightly improved game with a clearly weaker story.
The cookie-cutter at work...
