Dragonball Z Trilogy Review

Like the top says this bundle is great for people who have not played the tenkaichi games before (there way better than the "budokai" series)The pack consists of DBZ:Budokai Tenkaichi 1&2 and Super DBZ. I very much enjoyed Tenkaichi 1&2 (I also played #3 but find #2 to be the best) and I consider Super DBZ as a throw in (not my favorite fighter, although it was a arcade port.)

The thing I like about this the most is the price! For $30 you cant go wrong, new these games were $49.99 a piece that would be over $150 for these three games!!!

A Definite buy, you won't be sorry

P.S. I thought I should add that these games are not the 'greatest hits' but are black label!!!

Dragonball GT: Final Bout is an excellent game. The graphics are phenomenal, every character is in 3D. Although it is quite hard to control experts will manage to figure it out quickly, others will find it will take them a little longer. There are lots of modes to play in, you can train character up in the build up mode. And if a friend has the game and trained a character, you can battle by using the memory card. Also there is a tournament mode in which you fight it out with other characters to be the champion. Last but not least there is a normal exhibition mode were you can verse the computer or a friend. There is 19 characters, but some you have to unlock. Everybody's favourite is there. The characters are:
Normal
1. Goku
2. Pan
3. Trunks
4. Gohan
5. Piccolo
6. Frieza
7. Cell
8. Super Saiyan Vegeta
9. Majin Buu
10.Little Goku
11.Super Saiyan Vegetto
Unlocked
12.Super Saiyan Goku (Z)
13.Super Saiyan Goku (GT)
14.Super Saiyan Trunks (Z)
15.Super Saiyan Trunks (GT)
16.Super Saiyan Gogeta
17.Super Saiyan 3 Gotenks
18.Super Saiyan 4 Goku
19.Super Saiyan Little Goku
As you can see, a wide selection of characters. The sound is good, and overall a great game.
I give a rating of 98%
Ken

Dragonball Z: The Legacy of Goku I & II Review

Dragonball Z: The Legacy of Goku I & II
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I bought each of these games separately when they were first released, and I liked them both fairly well. They both had their flaws, but then again what game doesn't? First I'll start with
Legacy Of Goku

DRAGONBALL Z: LEGACY OF GOKU

This is the first in a series of three games for the GBA, and follows the storyline, from the Saiyan Saga to the Freiza Saga. The only twist is that instead of following the whole story, the game goes by Goku's perspective, hence the name. At the time of its release I was very disappointed with this fact, because they had already finished the Cell Games Saga. Other flaws in the game were soon apparent (e.g. you can only level up to LV 25).

The graphics for this game (at the time) were the best they could be, but there are still a few problems with the looks of some attacks. First off all the energy attacks are yellow, when everyone, who knows anything about the show, knows that the Kamehameha is blue. Instead there's just a bold yellow line coming out of Goku's hands. It's not even shaped like anything either!! Then there's the weirdness of the Solar Flare. When you use this attack a series of big and small balls come out of Goku's hands accompanied by a zapping sound.

The controls are as simple as they could be. Press L to switch between energy attacks, R to fly (note: this game is the only game in which you can fly at any time), A to Punch, and B for an energy attack. Holding B will gather energy into your attack, making it stronger. When you have gathered enough energy simply release B to attack. (secondary note: just keep your energy ball, since it's the only one that you can use from long distance, and because the other attacks don't do that much anyway, as far as I can tell without an enemy health meter.)

Overall this game had the most flaws of all the three. At the time of release it was pretty cool, for die-hard fans of the anime, and manga series, but now it hardly stands the test of time. It had way too many side games, and even with them it was still too short. Again, and I can't stress this enough, FIX THE ENERGY ATTACKS!! For this individual game I would give it 3/5 stars.

DRAGONBALL Z: LEGACY OF GOKU II

This game was much better than the first. They fixed many of the first game's flaws, including the energy attacks problem, but with a new game comes a new set of flaws. First off the game is supposed to be the Legacy Of GOKU, but for this game you have a variety of characters including Piccolo, Trunks, Gohan, and Vegeta. More flaws later. The story now goes from just before the Trunks Saga to the end of the Cell Games Saga. I had kind of expected that since, they hadn't finished the Buu Sagas yet (They had hardly started). In this game you can also, for the first time turn Super Saiyan any time you want (or Super Namek), which in my book is a big plus.

The grapics in this second game, are much improved from the first. As I said they fixed the energy attacks problem, for all the characters. You also now have a boss health meter, but you still have to guess and check for regular enemies. You'll get used to doing this though, because there are a few doors hidden throughout the game, that can only be accessed by a certain character at a certain level. Because of this you can level up faster, and there are more levels to go to.

The controls of this game are almost identical to the first one, except that now R is your scouter, or map, which is usually useless. Each character plays exacly the same way, with the exception of their energy attacks. Of course each character has their own signiture energy attacks, plus one other attack for variety. Again you can turn Super Saiyan any time you want, so you now have a Super Saiyan meter at the side of your screen. You have to be careful when you're Super Saiyan though, because it drains your energy, so time is limited.

Overall the game was much better than the first (probably since it was the first time Funimation worked with Atari), since it was longer, and more characters adds variety. There are still a fair amount of challenging side quests, but now you can ignore most of them. For this game I would give it a 4/5, there are still flaws but they are also easily ignored.

I found this game a nice refreshing return to the card game/rpg mechanics that the were tried out back in the snes era with the Dragonball Z RPG.It was a pleasant surprise to pick up and find they'd built upon the concept to make a pretty solid card game/RPG experience that I'd probably play even without the dragonball motifs over everything.I've noticed this game is particularly good for trips and is fairly addictive, winning quite a bit of friends who wouldn't put it down once giving it a try.

I wanted a DBZ game for my PS3 and after finding out it had a bit more sagas than Burst Limit, I got this.

The camera angles are beyond terrible. Good luck to anyone focusing on your opponent when you end up near a wall.

Buttons/commands won't work most of the time and that really sucks when you need them the most.

There is only ONE set of combos per character so 9 times out of 10 you'll end up using Super attacks just to finish the battle.

No screams when they power up. wtf it just looks hella weird.

Battles/playing with characters in the story mode idgaf about. (I really could have cared less about Yamcha/Tien/Chiaotzu fighting a dead Ginyu Force)

Not worth replaying the story mode over and over to get stars. (Goku's alternate outfits are not THAT important)

WAIT until this game is 19.99$ or less, or wait for the sequal which is hopefully 100x better

I played the demo for this for weeks, and just having the three characters to play with was enough for me to know i needed to pre-order this game. My friends and I have spent countless hours playing the Budokai Tenkaichi series on PS2, and after the debacle that was Burst Limit I was ready for the next incarnation. And it's in HD. Win.

The game is fast paced, with a free-form flight mode that's absolutely amazing. There's a wider range of abilities than in previous versions of the game as well. It's also absolutely beautiful.

Almost all of the terrain can also be destroyed, either by an energy blast going through a mountain, or slamming your opponent through it. This upgrade is one of the nicest, imo. I haven't been able to destroy a planet yet, so i'm not certain that ability is in the game yet.

This goes from the Saiyan saga through the Majin Buu saga. There's nothing from GT in the game, and I haven't seen anything from Dragonball yet either. The story mode is a bit engaging, as it's tough to keep telling the same story over and over again. There's a bit of dialog during fights, and the one downfall i've noticed is that sometimes the little conversation scenes kill the flow of the battle, and there's usually a sneak attack on you when they're over.

There is also a "What if" mode, with a few alternate timelines you can fight in. It's not very big, and I expected more from it honestly.

Overall, Budokai Tenkaichi lovers will be in heaven. This is a must-have for DBZ fans.
